Surveillance with Windows Mobile - General Topics

Is there a way to use a Windows Mobile device for surveillance?
I'm thinking along the lines that I install some software (tell me what to install!) on the device with motion detection. When it triggers the device takes a picture and sends it to a pre-defined number using MMS.
Is it possible?

sure if somebody wrote an application for it
and the pda was supplied power all the time
because it had to be on all the time for motion detection

Yeah, I've already thought of constantly supplying the power, that's not a problem.
The software is the problem. I can always write it myself, but I'm guessing that it would not be as good as an "official" solution...

If you happen to succeed and make a workable program, please let us have a look at it, I know I'd never use it, but it could be useful to someone else out there and you could even let us see the source, give a helping hand.
thanks, Forlornity

Wow this is a great idea. I will be following this forum and I also will try to do some other searching online. I will report back if I find anything!
Edit: Just thought of something. If you have slingbox pro it allows for multiple av inputs If the camera were connected via coax to your tv, you should be able to navigate to the secondary input on your tv using slingplayer mobile. Would this work? Anyone?

" If the camera were connected via coax to your tv,"
he wants to use the pda as the camera
tvout coax is not something many pda's have
there are tons of systems which let the pda using wifi
view a number of security cams but thats another story

Rudegar I think you misread my post, and maybe I misread the original post. Let me try to be more clear:
If you have slingbox, you can view whats on your tv from your phone/pda. Therefore, if you connect your surveillance camera to your slingbox/or tv, theoretically you could view this from your phone. Upon re-reading I think he may be suggesting using the phone/pda as the surveillance device. My apologies.

i have an app that u leave ur pda in a room with the prog activated ,if it hears any noise above your own preset levels it calls your other landline or mobile and plays the sounds to you ,all done on the pda in silence
great to bug a room its supposed to be a baby monitor but great for spying lol

wow thats awesome! whats the name of the program? where can we find it?

Hi,
get this one. It is working...

A mobile surveillance
Yes there is a way. A mobile surveillance app merely sits on the phone silently and reports to the web server when the phone makes or receives communications such as calls and text messages. The more advanced cell phone spy software that does things like let you listen to live calls and spy bug a room are a little more challenging to produce. The preferred method is the use of the software program specifically designed to conduct eavesdropping surveillance on the mobile phone. The ideal way to do this is with the use of what is called local cell phone spy software. This is accomplished within eavesdropping cell phone application that you download to the target phone.

Using a phone through my pc

I didnt really know where to put this, but here goes anyway
I have a HTC S710 with a broken screen. Im currently using it through MyMobiler, but this is really slow and then theres a number of smaller problems with it too.
I was wondering if there was any program which means you can use the resources avaliable on my phone, sms, calls etc, through my pc. Maybe a faster program similar to mymobiler. I think it would be great if it showed a popup when there was a text or an incoming call?
I have searched and not come up with anything usefull.
also, another thing i want to know is if there is any way to make my phone turn on speakerphone automatically upon answering a call?
Thanks, Cris
There are a few diffrenet apps available, but MyMobiler is the best, especially since it's free. There is an app here as well for turning on the speaker during an incoming call as well.
Just a question though, why wouldn't get a replacement device. Seems odd to only control it through your PC.
well, i dont want to replace it simply because im a student, therefore i cant really afford it. Secondly i just like this phone, so it seems a waste to not use it at all any more when it still functions as a phone even if i cant see whos calling.

I dont suppose you have a link to this app do you?
SpeakerPhone v1.05 (cab attached) when an incoming call is received, the speakerphone of your device will automatically turn ON when you receive a call.
Here is the LINK for further info...
thanks
thank you reaper

is there such software that can do this?

is there a software of where you can answer your Fuze's phone call or make a phone call wireless from your pc?? like you have your fuze in one room and someone calls and youre on the computer, on the computer it alerts you and you can answer the call and talk straight from the computer without havin to go all the way to the other room and getting it, if anyone knows a software that can do that plz tell me, thnx alot
I haven't done this but I think you can do that over bluetooth. I was just playing around with my Bluetooth the other day and saw hands free as an option. So maybe the software is built right in to windows. But as i said I haven't tried it so i don't know if it is or not.
Also an alternative to a computer, is getting a Bluetooth head set so when the phone rings you just turn the headset on and start chatting.
Hopes this helps

bluetooth is good... range is maybe up to 32 feet or so...
you can find cheap bluetooth deals (i got a Nokia BH200 for $0.99 after rebate, though there's no noise cancellation... if you need a good one, look for one with noise cancellation
something like it, but not quite...
if you had your bluetooth connected to the phone and the phone is in another room, you can use mymobile.. I found it through blownfuze.org which has an excellent site for finding anything for the phone... the webmaster at blownfuze.org doesn't allow anyone to just link to their page, so out of respect, i list the site and where to go...

its not exactly wireless because it has to be connected to the computer... but
http://blownfuze.org/index.php#2 just go to this section and in the first paragraph along the lines of basic apps and tweaks.. my mobile is the 4th list teal hyperlink , i use it now and its really cool.. if u use vista, then you have that small thumbnail that pops up on the screen when you hover the mouse over its minimized window.. mymobile lets you view everything on screen.. as if your phone is in the computer. have fun and if you need help, pm me or the guy over at blownfuze.org he's so helpful!
its not difficult dude! just go to the site and download the file run it on your computer and...
bam!! Right in the Kisser!
I was looking for this too. Thanks
Just check out this place blownfuze.org and just carefully read, you'll be surprised what you find.

surper bluetooth hack 2010

is there super bluetooth hack for the htc hd2 ?
Ive had it b4 on my other phones ( not the iphone)
i was wondering if there was one out for windows
What the heck is super bluetooth? Is it bluetooth but with its pants on the outside of its trousers?
surper bluetooth hack i meant to say
Super Bluetooth or something is a java application that allows you to perform actions such as turn on or off another persons phone. Depending what phone they had you could do all sorts such as make calls or read their SMS.
Of course, it only works when the other person blindly clicks "Accept" on all requests.

Safe driving app (request)

Hi.
So, i just watched a show called SourceFed on youtube where they talked about a guy getting arrested for "driving homicide",
basically he texted while driving, he ended up in the wrong lane and fronted another car killing the other driver.
Which brings me to my request:
Could you guys help me by developing a free application which disables the text (sms) function in a phone once the phone reaches a speed of 25km/h (15mph)?
That's "all" the app has to do, just disable the SMS function while driving.
One downside that i would like you to ponder about, is the fact that this would disable the text function for the passenger as well, how can this be worked around without the driver being able to do so as well?
Perhaps a WiFi module somewhere in the car which gives more accurate GPS positioning data which then leads to you being able to tell if the phone is in the driver seat or not?
I'm not doing this for commercial purposes or for profit, i just had a good intention which i would like to see available to everyone and perhaps even standard in the next generation of phones so we don't loose lives due to technical gadgets..

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but gps is not accurate enough to tell if you are in the passenger seat of a car.
The speed limit thing can be done though, and I think has, but it would be easier for drivers to simply use self control.
However you can try apps like call guard, that apparently blocks texts and calls while you are driving.

or the most dummy-proof way: don't text and drive!
unless you are using your device as an GPS, shouldnt be using a phone while driving anyway.
got a text? read it during red light/traffic jam
need to talk on phone? invest in headset
etc

I know that you shouldn't, and i don't unless i'm parked.
This is my issue: google: teen-sentenced-to-prison-for-texting-while-driving-death (a few days old)
Over here perhaps 10-15% of drivers admit that they do text while drying more then once a week,
and most of them claim that they don't notice any difference while driving, meaning that they think they operate just as good as they normally do.
The rest knows it's bad but do it anyway.
Thx mistermentality, will check out Call Guard

Turn an old device into a doorbell camera? Good idea or dumb?

Hi!
I have an old Nexus 5 I purchased about a year ago.
I didn't need it until recently where I had to use it for a few days while my main device was inoperable due to corrosion.
But I noticed a problem. It detects the sim card but will not connect to any mobile network, it just says "No Serivce".
At first I thought it was the custom ROM but I flashed stock with the original radio and whatnot but same problem. I did read a couple other threads and it seems it was a fairly common issue with the motherboard.
BUT, it gives me an idea. What if I were to re-purpose it as a doorbell camera?
Recently there has been a lot of thieves and thugs in my area trying doors at 3am so my family want a doorbell camera.
I don't trust any that connect in any way to the cloud - just look at Eufy and what happened with them.
I also don't want to be paying any subscriptions. If anything I'd be fine hosting it myself, I have a decent PC I use as a server with an 8TB HDD and I have an SSL certificate to encrypt the connection.
I have tried IP camera and a few other apps but none really give me the functionality of a doorbell camera. Or at least something that is easy to use for my family and will notify them when someone is at the door.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
I love that simple idea Genius!

How about some simple WebRTC like Jitsi? Must be funny for anyone ringing and ending up in a full blown teleconference with the entire family
