What for a ROM you´re trying to cook? Which application included? How much free space in the ROM?
Which Autoconfiguration?
Stefan
If you are cooking a 2002 rom make sure you leave some space.

Lumpi , First of all thanks for your Kitchen and ur hard work..
but the last time I was cooking a rom (last week) T mobile Rom 4.01.00 with the Windows Mobile Boot screen image and the 4.01.16 with the o2 Boot screen those images didn't show up I got instead T-mobile bootscreen.
At the end the Rom what's important to me but still there should be some fix for that, Thank you again for the Kitchen I hope to see soon the WM2003 SE in it hopefully.
I was trying to cook the rom 3.17.03 ENG O2-Euro.
the gauge for the free space was about 300k left after configuring the software of the rom.

Ok. I made an hint, that with the XDA-Developers Autoconfig you have to let about 450kB free for cooking. I'm sorry, that i can't change this. Then it should work. The error of the missing config files will still be there. This is more work for me. But it should only concern the german autoconfiguration...

I had a lot of problems cooking ROMs because the languages are in other languages:
In Pocket PC kitchen I cooked 3.17.03 ENG O2-Euro, which as mentioned in its name should be in English, but it turned out to be in French!
In the Pocket PC 2003 kitchen I cooked 4.01.00 ENG beta which also should be in English but is in German.
Is there something I am not setting up correctly?

I'm sorry, but i can't believe this. Have you tried to look at the log after cooking the rom? There is an output of the BAse Rom you cooked.
Many Users are using the kitchen, but i never heard of this problem. Which browser are you using?
Stefan
My brawser is IE 6.0.2800
It is very strange because i tried not only once but several times cooking both roms and upgrading them to the phone, but with the same result.
Very very strange...

This is true. Tried it now for myself, but all was working fine.
Used same browser version, and all worked fine....
I'm sorry, but it looks like I can't help you.
Stefan
What can i do now?
I cannot remove the French ROM. When I am trying to upgrade it with another ROM it says Unsupported language 'FRA'.
Can you suggest how i might fix this.
P.S. - the ROM i want to backup to is in the *.exe format
I think, you have to use adapt rom, or flash your device using an SD-Card. Therefor you have to extract the exe-File with winzip, and copy the NK.nbf file via xdatools to an SD-Card.
There are many threads about this..
Stefan
I managed to do it successfully. Thank you very much for your help!
I also would like to ask you if there is a way to install programs from your kitchen without burning a ROM, that is if I can somehow install them to my phone on its present ROM.
Thank YOU in advance for Your help!
was wondering if we could use the rom kitchen for xda2?

Kitchen should also work for XDA2 ROMS. But in the moment, there are only XDA1 Roms in it. Also you normally don't have the nessesary of doing this since the XDA2 has enough space.....

GrExplore Core 2.0 (Greek)

As Mr. Hessi James is Doing the German Version, i will do the Greek Translation, and try to Install the Greek Keyboard Layouts so no we will have no need of Leng or AEKMap (Specially for 160char/sms). I am a complete n00b at this point so i think it'll take long, but I will keep you informed here.
Credits for this great ROM go to our friend Anichillus from Romania!
I have extracted all the files with molski's kitchen, found the html's and the mui's . I am wondering if i get the .mui's and .html's from a Greek wm5 rom and compare then what will I get. So i tried to extract the Greek Ace ROM using the kitchen but the OS nb file seems to be locked or something.
Can anyone who is using a Greek Wizard wm5 ROM find the files on their device (with a file manager) and pack them into a zip to send them to me or upload them somewhere?
into the Windows Folder all the *.htm(l) and *.mui files please.

Please help Translating a ROM

Hi there
For the moment I haven't found a french 6.1 rom that suits my needs.
So I was wondering about starting cooking. But in fact there are WWE very good roms and I was wondering if it is possible to translate a ROM that way
1. extract the OEM_Lang_*** folder from the official HTC french ROM
2. extract a WWE ROM (of course with the authorization of the cooker !)
3. replace the OEM_Lang folder
4. re-cook the ROM & flash
Thank you for your help
Greg
PS : I found the thread dealing with translating with emulator files but for now there are no localized emulator files for wm 6.1

by now i don't know... only wondering if it is possible !
maybe with kaiser kitchen or install then dump a french rom...
that is the question
i'm no expert being that i only got in the kitchen a month ago, but from what i can see your steps make sense. i'm not one hundred percent sure that it will work but i would say try it, dump the WWE rom, so long as you are not releasing it as a new rom the chef will have no problem, and then do as you said. replace OEM_lang_*** with the folder from your french ROM. whether it works or not post the results, i kinda want to see what happens. you might also be able to ask the chef of the WWE rom that you want to use if he knows how to do it.
you also need to replace the *.mui in the sys folder.

Your problems are:
1. you must looking for a chef that shares with you own cook (very very difficult)
2. you must looking for packages (very difficult)
3. you have to change also *.mui in \Sys dir (as have told you xtreme_g)
4. you have to modify also RGU in some \OEM dir
Then you can rebuild and cook. You can use the ervius+bepe's package tool.
Good luck

Help needed - Creation of German WM 6.1 ROM

Hi there,
is it possible to create a German WM 6.1 ROM with DIY? I already cooked some ROMs for testing, but I wasn't able to change the language.
As base for my tests I used:
Pharos_WWE_ROM_5.2.20270_19960_.by.poldo
and
Original German ROM, which was dumped here in another thread
There is this directory:
\Build\OEM\OEM_Lang_0409
So do I have to replace the files in there? But where can I find the German language files?
Another thing: DIY comes with some tools that I can cook into the ROM. But what if I want to cook e.g. Advanced Config 3.1, which is not included by default in DIY?
i have no idea ... wish i could help because id like to know how to do a rom in dutch.. and the other question is also very valid! how do we cook in an application?

German customatization of Opentouch Roms

Hello there,
anyone tried to change WM6.1 to german or another language?
Actually, I work with the "OpenTouch"-roms. Many thanks for this. These are amazing roms!
I'm able to translate the Manila2D plugin. I attached this file. This file imports a translated 0409.mui. This works great!
When I import *.0407.mui-Files I'm not able to run the Phone Dialog, the contacts Dialog or the SMS-Dialog. This also happens when I rename the Manila2d.0409.mui into Manila2D.0407.mui. After that I change through registry the language to 0407.
The import of this Files are also attached. I try also every not existing 0407 file, which is there as 0409, to 0407.
I have the same issue => I cannot run phone,- contacts and SMS-dialog.
Can anyone help me?
P.S.: OpenTouch 7.3.1 works great without modifications!
pls help me
I try to extract the *.mui files from WM6.1 and I copy these to windowsfolder the next reboot the system is rebooting again and again.
Could anyone help me?
The German rom is : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420008
The Open Touch Version is : 7.3.1
THANKS!

You can not recook herald roms since they are protected.
There are no rgu files include so the rom will not work when you try to recook them.
If you want a german version, please pm me and as time allows I can cook one for the german folks,
hi,
i would be very pleased, too!! the new open touch rom is great, but in a german version it would be gorgeous.
greets
The open touch rom in German would be breath-taking, I agree!!

Since ttran is on his deserved holiday, this strategy should work as well to generate a largely german (or other) ot7.x phone (Manilla2D):
download the german file in the manilla 2D language thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432965
Copy all the unzipped files to the windows folder (this will overwrite the english language in 409 with the 407 information without needing to change the registry). Works nicely for me.
tested?
Hi,
does anyone already tested this strategy? I have no time at the moment to test and in case of brick take some hours to restore everything.
