Hi there,
The language is Farsi, but the font is Arabic/Farsi/Urdu. A good program is Imaginet Arabizer Suite. It also includes the modules for Prayer Times, Adhan, Hijri Calendar and so forth. It doesn't have the Quran (various languages), Tafsir modules and they offer it as a separate program.
A good place to find it is gsmhosting somethingy.
Also, an excellent free program is Pocket Islam v6.6.1, which has Prayer Times, Quran (various languages), Tafsir, Hadiths, Adhan, Hijri Calendar and so forth. But it doesn't have the Arabizer.
Salaams,
KOR™

Hi KAMALDEEP SINGH,
You have an excellent site, I visited there yesterday.
I fail to comprehend what Farsi language has to do with being a Muslim or not. Or any other language if that matters at all. Hopefully, being Muslim is not a disease. There are lots of Arabs, who are Jews, Christians and other religions, but they all speak Arabic language.
The Arabs and Jews are the children of Shem and for this reason they are called Semites. Though, I am not sure of Gentiles. Just Kidding!
The Indians use Urdu these days and they call it Hindi. Urdu language is a mix of 40% Arabic, 40% Farsi, the rest 20% is Paktu, Belushi, English and so forth.
But the Urdu language is very week in grammar. So for centuries the prominent Indian poets, such as Alama Iqbal, Mirza Ghalib and so forth wrote their poetry in Farsi.
Thus, your name Kamal, which is from Urdu!
Thanks
KOR™

No dude, you are little wrong here. The word kamal is used in 2languages. In hindi, 'kamal' means the 'lotus'(flower). In urdu, many spell it 'k-a-m-aa-l' which means 'to show astonishment'.
Regarding hindi, it is a language of its own. FYI, both urdu and hindi were derived from a language called sanskrit(even spanish has some words of sanskrit)

I should say the opposite is actually happening

Hi Kamal,
Yes, Hindi is a language of it's own and it is derived from Sanskrit.
The English language is from Greek/Latin and both the languages, Greek and Latin are derived from Sanskrit too. In fact, all the European languages are derived from Sanskrit. By the way, the Persian are originally Zoroastrian and inventor of the Sanskrit language.
Though, Urdu is not derived from Sanskrit. Urdu is a mix of 40% Arabic, 40% Farsi and 20% (Paktu, Belushi, English and so forth) and it is derived mostly from the Semitic language.
Urdu uses the Arabic fonts and was widely written in India, until Indra Gandhi banned it. She replaced it with Hindi. All most all the Indian poetry is either in Urdu and/or Farsi.
Still the Indians till today speak Urdu but call it Hindi. As an example, the "sky" is "ashman" in Urdu and "aakash" in Hindi, but the Indians use "ashman" for "sky". In Arabic "sky' is called, "sammah".
Good to now that kamal means lotus flower in Sanskrit.
Thanks,
KOR™

It's sad because the fonts apparently supports it. At least they support chinese as some of my contact have chinese name and they appear properly in the text editor.
What's really missing is the IME or a virtual keyboard

Not that sad, geez, the phone is a month old...

It's sad when a product is restricted to iso-latin. Even if the product was not intended for outside of the US market a good chunk of the population in the US speak and use a second language on a daily basis. Whether it's Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, Russian or something else.
I18N is a pain, and managing different IME is another bigger one so I understand why it was postponed to a future date.
so no chance for arabic support till now
heeeeeeellllllllpppppp
somebody should help us (Arabic language speakers) to fix this G1 phone Arabic support issue ,,, when I read the roadmap and did not find any plans to support Arabic, i felt disappointed...
I can't read any Arabic text msg's nor the g1 browser is supporting arabic websites ,,
please somebody should deal with this issue seriously
Cheers and thanks,

For Arabic support: http://www.2shared.com/file/4721532/c336ef8d/update.html
It's JF1.4 (RC30) with arial as the fallback font. You can read arabic msgs and websites but no writing yet.
Same goes for everyone else: If you need your native alphabet, just replace DroidSansFallback.ttf with whatever font that supports your language.
are the letters connected too?
looks like someone made it already.. but i hope that we will be able to get it free, as it is with everything "OPEN source"

NEW app!
I have created an Arabic Keyboard on the market, check it out.

What languages are most important?

I am making a little poll here which languages are needed most!
I am not going to make three versions of my future ROMs! So with this poll, I want to determin the top 4 languages and make a version with those 4 languages next time (English will always be in the ROMs)!
Sooooo if nobody votes for German, there wont be a German ?
Exactly. I don't care, which languages are in the ROM, because I make my personal ROMs anyway! And in those ROMs I will always add German!
Hi I would also like to see Czech language. Olda
Maybe add all languages to one rom?
Don't think there's enough space in the VOX's 64MB's rom.
I've no problem with english, on the contrary in this months with only english I got used to it...it is more effective and words are shorter
BTW...this poll seems to a me a race...so let's race!!
Why there isn't Russian in that list?
Portuguese.
I can't find many ROMs in that language and i think is not proportional to the speaking people (240 milion). Even we could use generaly in English i think we deserve more.
Thank you.
I neither have Russian nor Portuguese language files. That's why they aren't in the list! And no, not all languages fit in one ROM!

Hei frau...I think that the Gonzo's cab method isn't adaptable in this case, or is it?
Master - please make the newest WM 6.1 CLEAN [MULTI-LANG] with Polish lang of course
If its possible ... give us polish lang
Why there isn't Spanish in that list?
And again, I only have those languages, I need the 6.1 mui-files for more languages, but I don't know where to get them from!
How long this polll will be last?
I think one more week!
Simplified Chinese

I Vote Danish but it's not there so English in my 2. option and thats not there eighter
Well, English is always in the ROM!
And for the last time: these are the only languages that I have!

CHTEditor translations thread

CHTEditor Translations
Translators required
If you don't know it, the CHTEditor thread is here.
As requested (many times), I've added translation capabilities to CHTEditor. If you are interested in translating the application to your language, please check the list below and see if anyone is already offering to translate to that language. If not, post your interest and tell me which language(s) you want to translate.
If you offer to translate a language that's not already on the list, then I'll be in touch with an invitation to a private group where I explain how you do the translation.
There's over 150 phrases that need translating, so it make take a while. Please only register interest if you're happy to do it.
Please don't PM me about this as I'm watching this thread, not my inbox.
Thanks a lot
Update
The story so far - 22nd April, 2010
There's a quite a lot of people that have already offered to do translations. I've given them the kit they need and now it's up to them to get on and do the actual hard work.
I'll be releasing a new version of the editor that offers mulit-language capabilities. I plan to make these accessible from both this thread and from within the application, via a languages menu option.
All being well, we should have some translations working on your devices by next weekend (01/05/2010).

[Q] Language support

Newbie post
We are looking to have versions of our *very* simple game in different languages. Which ones are most important to have in place at launch? Which can we delay?
Here's the list we're going for:
ENG French German Italian Spanish Russian Swedish Japanese Korean...
...should we prioritize any in particular?
And a follow-on question...we would keep the splash and about pages in English (to make our lives easier) because that translation would be a lot more involved. What's the consensus on that? Is it reasdonable to expect users to have some English facility?
Many thanks!
Cheers, S
