Poll: Which ROM should we continue to develope with ?

So, which ROM should we continue to develope with ?
AKU 3.3 ? or WM6 ?

Thats not an easy one, I tried the WM6 rom, and it worked but with the mentioned bugs, but it took all of my available ram, and kept coming up with memery shortage errors, does WM6 need more memory for it to operate, and will it ever have enough on a prophet?

Personally I think that we should continue with WM6. More 3rd party applications will be developed for it in the long run, and it makes sense to future proof our Prophets.

WM6 please. Since the official wm6 has been released, why we need the AKU3.3? I really like the update option in WM6. And a bounch of other features in WM6 is also cool.

I think aku 3.3 needs just a bit more tweaking and that should come first, right?
You're probably closer to another release as well...

I loved WM6 only probs were
reset on return from standby (obex fix) only when not plugged in mains or usb
charging/batt status doesnt work after return from standby
Sometimes looses BT and Wifi information
I think the first two are linked. The device can only come out of standby if the obex dll registry is removed or renamed. maybe if the obex thing was fixed the charging might continue to work!!!
Excellent work though Jesterz - I use your 2.2r1 in production. Rock Solid and I have even kept the Jesterz Splash Screen

It is useless to play around with ext rom only. The core problems like IR malfunctioned, USB charging unstable that need to be fixed.
Of course we should look forward to WM6.

yes, no more repacking of extrom. we should switch to wm6 as soon as possible.(jesterz don't wait to complete poll, its
already crying for wm6) Beside this we should come forward to proper rom cooking kitchen for
prophet. I think Prophet forum lacks R&D very much

I think it too, but you can't force people to buy prophets so they could turn their heads our way!

WM6 is my choice.
I think it will take a long time to stabilise wm6 rom but eventually we will reap the rewards as it is the future.

WM6 for me. Let's prepare our Prophets for the future.

I think we should go for WM6! This is the feature!

Which Rom is faster: AKU 3.3 or WM6?

Hello everybody,
i just update to Aku Rom 3.3.11 from ASerg 2 days ago, so far so good.
But now, the WM6 rom seems to be stable. For people who already use Aku 3.3 and now WM6, what do you think is faster?
And what's about 3.Party Software? do all WM5 Software function with WM6?
Is it worth to update to WM6 now?

both versions have their own advantages,
But have been using wm6 for a few days now, have to say that Aserg's 3.3.11 is faster. Aserg's extrom is also a nice addition.
Waiting for Aserg or Jester to jump on the WM6 boat

I think ASerg one. less bug, more stable and faster than the others.

could anyone upload the AKU 2.2 ROM to any site..... There's no more at ftp xda dev.....

yes, we cannot download the roms from ftp now.

btw, i think wm 6 will be stabler and with the trend, but it has now Battery and power problems for Prophet.

Where can we find a copy of Aku Rom 3.3.11 from ASerg?

Since I have proved several roms, included roms of WM6, and for me more rapid are the cradles in WM6, but I prefer at the moment the rom of Wm5 Aku 3.3.12 de ASERG, very stable quite rapid and it spends less battery, the roms of WM6 were spending me more battery.

You could at least TRY to find out on your own.. your answer can be found anywhere on these forums, just use the advanced search function and don't be so freaking lazy for a change.. READ!

Depends if you want the latest and greatest or something stable.
Ive tried a few. heres my thoughts
WM6, Way off, any rom is still a little unstable and things dont work.
ASERG 3.3. Tried it for a few weeks but it would crash, bits didnt work, little things, just little things. Looked nice.

Its very stable, based on an official S200 ROM so has had the testing. Boots fast and clean, no rubbish installed like other roms.
The little nagging issues with other roms like settings not saving, occasional crash etc were just too much so went back to a stable rom.

Aserg 3.3.12 of course. Stable, fast & just clean.

but now I used AKU3.3.12.ASERG-us, it's very good, Stable, fast, and the amazing thing it's clean and you can configure which program you want in EXT rom, and I can say that it's the best of WM5

I think Aserg 3.3.12 is. It isn't clean, but has useful soft for me.

Best Rom For HTC Wizard?

I know many of you may think this is based on opinion, but personally I'm new at the scene and just tried Faria's WWE WM6 ROM (the real thing) featured at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297762 .
My original reason for installing was cause my 8125's OS started lagging lately for some reason (it would take a few seconds for menus and items to show up instead of being instant). In addition, battery life was HORRIBLE (would die in around 2 days). So I went and downloaded Faria's WWE WM6 ROM (the real thing). Installation was easy, the ROM worked great, my battery life greatly improved (even though I overclocked to 247 with cpuscaling at 143).
Unfortunately, I messed around too much and accidentally killed my phone application , not to mention the OS has started to lag (probably because I installed too many things?).
Either way, I'm looking to download a new ROM. I want something that has all the features of Faria's HTC Wizard Rom (the real thing), and more. I don't care too much about extra space, because frankly I don't need it. I just want something that's fast and feature-packed (and includes everything from Faria's ROM). Any tips or suggestions? Help would really be appreciated, as I've just gone through 3 ROMS that I didn't like. Thanks.

For me, the best WM6 rom is the Core 2.0n (based on XPlore 1.0)
Thephone is very fast (boot in 35 seconds), no bugs, working well with TomTom6.
I'm only waiting a full French WM6 rom

for months of WM6.0 use; Faria is the best for stable.
im testing Pandora 1.05 right now.

From all of the ROMs that I have used. I think Faria is the best one. it's very stable.

soft reset everyday, to remove the slow down due to any memory leaks
and I'm gonna buck the trend here, wm6 is SLOW. use a 2.26 if you want a quick one
two day battery life sounds good some people think one day is good others, several days (but it depends how much you use it).

I am completely of agreement with you.

From all of the ROMs that I have used. I think Faria "The Real Thing" is the best one. And Xplore 1.1, too.

Hi,
i have been using Xplore 2.0n and it is great.
Its near Full Vanilla, but it supports AD2P and most of the basics.
The new 5.2.1413 build is FAAASSTTT, and there are FULL VANILLA releases, nevertheless, i was unable to set AD2P.
If there is a fix for ad2p, i will surely switch to 5.2.1413 because it is way way faster than Xplore 2.0n

I agree. i have been on this fourum reading for a while now. I recently desided to become a member.
For the prize core 2 definatly gets my vote. it has been the most stable. doesn't require soft or hard resets.
i belive by far the best yet....

The ROM Kitchen is the newer version of Faria's rom, and its vanilla, but you can add stuff into it. My Crossbow Reloaded (link below) is a cooked version of this rom with stuff added to it and a few fixes I put into it.

There is no such thing as "best ROM"
All will depend on your personal needs.
What is best to me not necessary should be for you.
Said that, enter to ROM section and read a bit to know users comments, then make your choice
On my opinion Tomal 8.2, 8.5 and 8.9 are the more stable and great performance, but it´s up to you to find out your "best"

I have seen a lot said about Tomal's ROMs as being stable and very reliable, but every link to get the ROMs are always broken! Dead ends. Can someone please provide a very assured link to download Tomal's 6.x versions please?

Just to help all the noobs who cant read the forum:
Cooked ROMs​

Best ROM for iMate JasJar (HTC Universal, Exec, ...)
I would have to agree that Tomal's 8.5 is the best of the posted ROMs. Not perfect, but it is very stable, good performing, yet fresh enough to run most new apps.
Above 8.5, there's all this annoying stuff in the UI, and performance and memory usage take a hit. Below 8.5, certain niceties like drag-scrolling disappear, the dialer looks ugly, and fundamental apps such as Microsoft's Facebook won't install.
There are a few non-Tomal ROMs out there - one of them, a WM5-based version, is really very good, and I used it for weeks. But for me, 8.5 with WM6.1 is the best compromise.
It looks like I'll be staying with this ROM, and staying with my iMate JasJar, until a similar or better big-keyboard big-screen phone running Windows Phone 7 becomes cheap enough.

First I installed luca16thebig's light ROM 6.1, I found it really awesome as it was really fast and stable in the beginning. But as the time passed I realized that my battery is draining a lot quicker and also the mobile started to RESTART itself once every hour. The last thing which forced me to reflash the device was when I wanted to configure GPRS and no matter what I did it didn't want to connect.
Afterards I installed "TML v8.7.1 21028 regular 64MB", and so far everything is working fine, though its just been 2 days. GPRS is good and battery time is better.
Things I am not liking is the non availability of MMS inside the ROM and also I would really want to disable Auto Time Sync feature somehow.
Apart from this I believe it is so good. But I will flash "TML89_WM61_21048_REGULAR_64MB" or "TML89_WM61_21048_LITE_64MB" tomorrow just to check whats new in there

Have a look through ROM thread, you can disable timesync by deleting from REG startup. MMS can be downloaded as cab, use Dutty's - I've posted it somewhere.
