Bluetooth headset profile - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Guys,
I did search through the forum and I found several users with the following problem but no solution yet.
I use a bluetooth headset a lot (not a stereo, just a regular one!) and when I answer a call, people on the other side can not hear me. I have to go to bluetooth setting and do "Set as handfree" on the device so that it works again.
But it only works for a couple of minutes! The next call that I use my headset I need to do it again.
Is there a solution for this?
PS: My bluetooth headset is a Motorola H700.

I use a Plantronics 510 (or something like that) and I haven't had any problems with WM6 disconnecting from it like you describe. I have went to answer the phone with it a couple of times and it didn't seem to be linked up, but I just press the button on the headset and it links right up and then answers the call on the next press. But thats only happened a couple of times and I think each of those times I had walked away from my phone so probably went out of range (so I'm guessing the phone just hadn't noticed the BT headset being in range yet).

Try deleting the partnership and setting it up again after a soft reset.
I too have a Plantronics Voyager I think its called and I have not had this problem. I tossed my Motorola BT because the audio level was way too low on it.

I tried that and it did not work... Thanks for trying anyway...

Did you try when you tick the hands free that you used the enter button on the D pad instead of the other button?

I've reported the same issue with Farias ROM I am using WM6. I use a Plantronics, have to keep going back and selecting it as the handsfree.
Don't know if it a WM6 problem or a Faria problem...annoying I know.

hey.... it worked!!!! At least so far! :-D
I have repaired the headset (but I tried that several times in the past!) and untick the hands free and ticked it again and now I have tried several times and it seems that it is working.
I do not understand way. Can you explain I this non-sense procedure solves the problem

I had a little problem pairing my Plantronics Explorer 340 with my device, but after the pairing, it did work without any problems. apparently some WM6 roms out thre are having this issue. I would suggest re-flash your device and se how it works

I have a Plantronics 655 and don't have this problem. The only thing out of the ordinary that I do when pairing though is re-name the headset (defaults to 6xxPlantronics, I change it to Plantronics 655)
However, I experience a slightly different problem. My BT headset and handset don't automatically re-pair after returning in range or resetting the handset. Anyone else experiencing this?
Everytime I walk out of range or reset my phone, I would have to turn off my headset then turn it back on for the two to pair back up. I sometimes forget and when I hear the handset ring, I pick up w/ the headset only to find that they're no longer paired. Is there a way to have the two automatically pair back up? I never had this problem when I was using AKU3 roms and the stock Cingular 2.25 ROM.

JABRA Oddities

Ok, I have a BT200 that is working very quirkly with my i-mate. Sometimes the phone transfers the call to the headset, sometimes it doesn't. After deleting and recreating the bond, it works, but not for long. Anyone have one of these setup and working properly? Is there a trick to it?
Also, does anyone know if other headset drivers exist that may work on the i-mate that would allow you to hear all audio (not just phone) through a bluetooth earpiece?
Figured it out?
Ok, I've finally pinpointed that it works fine until I turn off the jabra headset, then when I turn it back on, I have to go through the entire thing again of re-creating the bond, etc..
Anyone know how to avoid having to recreate this everytime I turn the headset on or off?
I don't now ... but i have also jaba 200 and the MDA II is must arrive...
well please chip us informed
Thanks
DenisJ
I have the same combination and have also observed the same hassles.
It seems to work when I turn the BT headset function on the MDA off and on also. Thsi seems to result in a rebond.
Exact Steps
TBD,
If you could post the exact order of the steps you take to turn on / off the headset, I'd appreciate it. Right now, I'm doing the following:
1. Finish BT Headset Call.
2. Disable Bluetooth Headset Mode on Phone.
3. Disable Bluetooth on the phone.
4. Hold button on JABRA to turn it off.
Then, attempting to...
1. Hold button on JABRA to turn it on.
2. Enable Bluetooth on the phone (Set to "On" or "Discoverable")
3. Enable Bluetooth Headset Mode on phone.
4. Attempt to make call.
So if you could posts steps like that, i'd appreciate it. Also, do you set your bluetooth to "On" or "Discoverable"? Do you ever turn off the Bluetooth Radio completely?
Thanks,
Jon.
Yup me an all. I too have the Jabra BT200 and have the same problem. Providing you don't switch off the headset or go out of range your ok, but for instance when you leave the headset in the car and take the XDA2 with you you have to create a new bond to use it again. AHHHHHHHHH!!!
Shame cos so much else has been sorted on it.....and more. What a piece of kit!!
SOMEBODY HELP!!!
OK, so here is the sequence, which seems to work (for me).
1) I set everything up as per instruction. creating the bond between the Jabra and the MDA II.
2) Before (or after) I turn off the Jabra I disable the BT-Headset on the Today-screen.
3) Then I turn the Jabra on again and wait several seconds before enabling the BT Headset on the MDA II.
This seems to work most of the time, though the hint regarding going out of distance might explain the instabilities I have still observed. In any case, using the BT-Headset ON/Off on the Today-screen seems to resync things most of the time and get the Jabra up and running again.
Hope this helps and always open for new ideas
I have been a bit impatient after turning the BT headset on. I'll try it and let you guys know.
I may have been a bit optomistic.
Today I observed that sometimes the Headset reacts very late. Consequently you miss half of the call. Seems to be an XDA problem.
As for my XDA II with Sony Ericsson HBH-65, after creating the bond, before i turn off the BT headset, i turn off BT profile and BT on my PDA, then turn off the Headset.
If i want to turn on the headset, i activate BT on my PDA, then BT profile, the the headset. Sometimes in teh day headset seem to lose the bond and cannot use the BT to call or whatever. I tried turning on/off BT on my PDA, did not work. Turn on/off headset, it worked. So for me most of the time is my headset causing the problems
i am having the same problem with the new moto bluetooth headset although i have experienced no problemzs with the se hbh-30 bluetooth headset....i can turn off and transfer calls without any impact on teh bonding
Jabra problems
I've had similar problems on a boring old Nokia 6310 with my BT200. In the end, all I could do was find the 'automaticly reconnect' option on the Nokia. during calls, the link is allways fine, but between calls, when I guess one end or the other goes to sleep, the link will drop out, and then instantly reconnect. This happens around 2 or 3 times an hour.
Is there a 'automaticly reconnect' option on your XDA?
All the best
James
OK, I finally sacked my Jabra 200, because of its instability. What use is a headset, that doesn't repond when a call comes in?
I bought a B-Speech from B-Data yesterday and it seems to be working much better  .
Nokia HS-3w headset with XDA II
Well! I am using the Nokia HS-3W Bluetooth Headset with my XDA II . I can pair up two devices and use it for only ten minutes  . After that, the headset will off(goes to sleep) . I Have to turn on the headset every ten minutes. I ask the dealer about the problem. They told me this headset work fine with Nokia's phone. They told me , there is three color on the light. Red light will flash when you turn off the headset. Green Light will flash when you turn on the headset up to ten minutes, if cann't find the phone devices , it will goes off.White light will flash, when the headset connected to the phone. When I turn on the headset, I just can see the green light only. But, if someone call me or I make a call ,the white light will flash. After the that the headset will flash the green light again for about ten minutes and goes off. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks!

Hi, I will like to ask how your headset B-Speech is working.
It works 100%?
I have a jabra 250 with the same problems as BT200
Please let me know
Regards
JoseF
The B-Speech Headset is working OK, however it doesn't solve the problems with the Microsoft BT-stack.
Some observations, probably also applicable to the Jabra:
:?: When you go out of range with the headset, it will probably not reconnect automatically (but how do you know)
:x On an incoming call, the XDA may be very slow in activating the headset, so you might miss the call (seems to be tied into what the XDA s/w is just doing at the time
When you turn the Headset off, make sure to turn it off on the Today screen first. And when you turn them on, make sure to wait about 2 sec. after you turn the headset on before turning it on on the Today screen.
 What seems to work best, is turning that Headset off and then on again on the Today screen. It usually comes back after that.
Mind you, it isn't the headset thats causing these problems. Its just that Microsoft botched the Bluetooth stack - probably the programmers had blue teeth from all the wine they were drinking!
I've found the out of range issue to be mute on my jabra 200. The only time the bond is broken is when the headset has been turned off. Or sometimes when it has been on charge.....
Strange........I use the Jabra BT 250 with the MDA II and have non of these reconnection problems. I f I turn it on and place a call (or receive) it reacts immediately.
However, I cannot use the advanced Headset Profile features of the Jabra with the MDA, but this is not the fault of the Jabra........
Could the people who are having problems and the people who are not having problems with their Jabra BT200's please post their version numbers of the Jabra BT200. You can find the version number on the boom going to the microphone. It will be 2 numbers and a letter, like 48A or something like that. I'm testing a theory that I think will help identify why some people work and some don't.
Thanks,
LouisK
Ok, the number on my Jabra Bt 250 is 44B.

[found!] Stereo headset (re)connection app requested !

Solution found: use battery status. In its last builds it has an option to enable A2DP directly by pressing BT tray icon
---------------------------------------------------
Hi mates,
Does everybody has the same problem with BT profiles ?
It goes well from stereo (listening music) to headset (calling) profile, when a call is incoming. But when the call is ended, or if you disabled bluetooth meanwhile (or turned off the headset), you must go to BT options, devices, then tap 'n hold the headset and set it as wireless stereo. Quite a long operation for a simple task, I had in mind that someone could write a cmd-line app which would do this ?
I had once a rom/a2dp patch/reg values combination that worked well with calls ending -> music goes on. But thus it didn't automatically connect the headset (as wireless stereo) on first start. Maybe this is by design, to avoid cutting off the sound coming out from the pda each time you activate BT, but it's annoying to me
So..... Am I the only one ?
Niko
ps: Vijay's VJVolubilis almost do this, but only for headset profile AFAIK
No, the 'not-returning a2dp club' is full of people... you can be the mr. president if you want...
I had the same problem. I returned my BT stereo headset because of the same problems. I'm done with A2DP.
FYI, I asked a few authors to check if they can do something about this.
So you may follow the development of those apps if you're interested in a one-click A2DP Stereo connection : AEBPlus, Battery Status and VJVolubilis.
I'll try to post again when something new is coming.
Ah... have any of you guys tried the later A2DP patches?
And why not just use the bluetooth button to reconnect wireless stereo?
I don't have any hardware button, nor any icon (except the one from battery status) associated to bluetooth. Would you please detail what you were talking about ? If it's an icon, could you try to extract the corresponding exe ?
I tried many A2DP patches, not sure if they are the latests or not, but none provided automatic stereo reconnection, at least when I just turned my headset (or bluetooth) on. Since I do that often....
I mean the button on your bluetooth headset. Click it once to connect; sometimes it needs another click to activate wireless stereo. I know not every headset supports this, but an A2DP headset should.
You might have to set wireless stereo once from the device, but after that, the headset should activate using its button the next time.
Resume problem should be fixed with the AKU3+ A2DP patches. Again, YMMV.
Note: Sorry for the double-post... site's really slow.

Sorry but.... YMMV ? ^^
Didn't try AKU3.x yet, have you hear good reports from prophet users ? I haven't at that time..
I'll give it a try (or WM6) when my device will be back from warranty
See comment #26. Certainly not conclusive based on one report. I've never encountered the problem, so....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284344&page=3
It doesn't have a button? How does it answer phone calls then? Or the button pops up the phone app on the first press instead of just connecting?
The main button can answer calls, or end a current call.
Its second ability is to turn on/off the headset
I have AVRCP buttons for next/prev music operation, and one of them can dial the last number when pressed for a long time.
I guess I can also reject a call, can't remember how, but the connection thing is supposed to be automatic (Already tried to press buttons to check if it would (re)connect...)
Since it's kind of noname headset (CallStell), I won't even try to request help from them ^^
hum, that's it
ps: What does YMMV stands for ?
I'll give a try to that new patch. Interesting thread btw ! Can't read it completely by now, can I try that patch if I'm still on AKU2.x rom ?
Hmmm... my guess is that the power button or the call answer button should (re-) connect the headset once you have done it once manually ("set as wireless stereo"). Or maybe not.
There are two versions on that thread - one is from AKU 3.3, the other is from WM6. Not much difference between the two, but they are both better than the older Tornado patch in terms of compatibility, IMHO. Either can be used for any version of Prophet AKU 2.0 and up.
Oh, YMMV - your mileage may vary.
please explain more about installation.
where can i get ruu file for prophet?
meykou, just go through this thread:

Makes a lot more sense if you read it from the beginning. Hard to explain otherwise.

I once tried many A2DP patches/few rom versions and player combinations.
I got different results, few were very poor, most of 'em was pretty nice.
But it always missed at least 1 thing ^^
Either the sound quality, the resume-after-call or the sound-drop **** ^^
But I'm not sure anymore if I managed to get rid of the latter at least once.. but it was not that bad, one sound drop every 2 songs, for 1 or 2s., or so... still anoying, but usable.
Oh, and what I first wanted to say, I tried to reconnect via the main button, but no results. I should try with another headset, btw. What's yours ? And would you advise me to buy it ?

Well, good luck. I'm using the i.Tech R35, BTW.
A2DP + Prophet + Music resume
Wow! It works.
It took time for me to realise that it resumes music after a little pouse.
I need to push button only once to cancel the phone call.

Handsfree devices with WM6

Hey group I was just wondering how your devices (running WM6) worked with different hands free devices. I myself use two different items.
#1) Scosche Bluelife Bluetooth Wireless Car Kit
I like the device itself but I have problems with my MDA not automatically pairing with it when I turn the car on. I have to maually select it as the Handsfree option within the bluetooth menu on the phone.
#2) Jabra BT620s
Again great device for voice calls, however music seems a little slow during playback and the phone doesn't automatically pair up with it when in range.
That's what I use. What do you guys use and how do they work with WM6?
oh yeah, and just to be clear, the devices do pair initially, just not automatically like they did with WM5.

My Plantronics Bluetooth has the same problem, well similar, it stays paired up, but if an incomming call comes in, the headset doesnt recognize it untill I hit the button once for it to notice, then gotta hold it down for 2 seconds till it beeps then it answers the phone, and have to do same to make outgoing calls. I dunno what model I hav because I cant find it no where and cant find package for it, but its very similar to the Explorer 320...just looks different.

Hi all!
Most of the time I´m satisfied but I can´t get it to work flawless. Sometimes it just drops the connection to the phone in the middle of a conversation.
The most annoying thing is the skipping, mostly when I´m streaming webradio.
Anyone else using this headset and if so, are you having the same problems?

Plantronics Discovery 340 works exactly like it did in WM5... perfectly...
Using WM6 Most Beautiful Edition I think (flashed so many roms that night hard to rem. which i settled for lol)

Bluetooth Handsfree Connected, but no sound

Hi if someone can help me it would be much appreciated. I just bought a Touch Pro and everything is working fine....except for one really annoying issue.
Whenever I connect my bluetooth to a headset, it shows connected but no sound is coming out. The sound is muted. when connected to my Audi, I see that the phone has bars (shows connected and I can dial the phone), but when I make a call no sound. Similarly on my SE HBH-DS970 headset. The A2DP works perfectly, but when I make a call nothing.....I've searched google and through XDA and no solution.
Can someone suggest a solution? I've soft/hard reset the device already. If I should change Radio ROM which one would someone suggest that's stable? Thanks
If no one else has this problem, can anyone at least suggest to me if this sounds like a Hardware or software issue? If hardware I will return it, but if software I will try to find a solution. Like I said the phone connects to BT, but I just can't get handsfree to work. File transfers and A2DP work. Thanks
Just flashed to UK ROM and still no help....I've read some people having the same problems over at the Diamond thread...I'm the only one answering my own thread here hahaha....if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Hi,
I occasionally had such an issue with my Parrot CK3100, but I did not get the time yet to investigate further. After the call was connected I did not hear anything, and I am not sure whether the other party could hear me.
On another day, the handsfree was working perfectly OK.
Cheers
Michael
Thanks for replying Michael....I'm at a loss and I tried all the suggestions posted. I hope it's a software issue...I'm going to buy a bluetooth headset tomorrow and see if that works. It's not the end of the world, but annoying since all my ppc, s60, BB, and UIQ phones prior to the TP have not had any such issues.
Do you think it's a software issue?
have you tried playing music?
Yes.....A2DP works perfectly....no problems whatsoever with file transfers either....I'm guessing either it's a software problem or the phone has a new bluetooth software that's not agreeing with my older SE headset, but the car is another issue. The Car is 2007 and I'm sure the Bluetooth software is not that old. I've tried Euro WWE and Asian WWE ROM and no go.....I'm going to try the Cingular ROM and see what happens.
Just another quick update....I tried 2 other different bluetooth headsets and still the same problem... for some reason the sound for handsfree will not come through...anyone know of registry hack possibly that will allow sound to come through?
May not be entirely related to your problem...
Mine is worst...whenever I have paired my Jabra or iTech BT headset, when the phone rings, 8/10 times the phone will auto pickup (and no I did not setup the phone to auto pickup) and the it will NOT connect to the bluetooth. Instead it will be just like an auto pickup and the sound will come thru the phone headset. This is driving me nuts!!!!

Bluetooth Issues

I am having multiple issues with Bluetooth on TouchPro2:
Issue # 1 with no solution
When trying to end calls using the end button of Jawbone Prime, it does not work, you must end call using the handset.
Issue # 2 (New)
When ending calls with any Bluetooth device (in my case built in Bluetooth in Nissan Altima) the calls will not terminate, have to press end button many time before calls ends
Are there any Bluetooth registry hacks that may solve either one of these issue?

I see the same issue. Sorry no solution.
I confirm same end issue ....although until reading above i didnt know it stemed outside of the plagued nissan vehicles with navigation.
I have a lot of confidence that this will be fixed sooner rather than later since it is now affecting everyday bt headsets vs. one isolated group of nissan / infinity vehciles.
For those who own this phone and a nissan / infinity. we will take this partial victory as it has been a long two years since the last known phone from htc that worked correctly with our cars was a mogul with WM5 / before that the apache.
Its nice to have a working touchpro 2 and nissan ...even if its not 110% with the disconnect issue.
I have an 08 Nissan with the Bose/Communications/convenience package, and my bluetooth worked fine with my i760, xv6800, and Touch Pro. But I experience the disconnect issue as well now with my TP2. Must be the new HTC drivers.
We'll standby for a patch. But I'm pretty sure even though the time keeps running on the radio, that the call still disconnects. In any case, it isn't right, and I doubt we'll see it when we get patched to 6.5.
FYI, from my research this is the widcom stack on the TP2. I thought i read that in the tmobile TP2 forum.
That would explain why it works because microsoft rarely fixes things on windows mobile.
If so it only more confirms ms at fault and not nissan.
The nav radio was always different than the non nav bose radio in the nissans. Different BT modules i believe.
That would explain why you didnt have the problems that so many others did.
I might be wrong on the widcom stack but I woudl think the tmobile and cdma variety are using same chipsets and drivers. for the BT radio
BMW bluetooth
Same issues on BMW bluetooth
Having simmular problems with an JVC BT1 specielly if i use AD2P at the same time.. phone can lag for like 10-20-30 sec someethimes even more....
Getting VERY tired of this!
several BT issues
I seem to be having the same issue as most of the post on this thread ...my headset, and my Infiniti will not end my call , but has anyone else had a problem just trying to get the bluetooth to open from comm manager or settings ? When I try to turn on Bluetooth through my comm manager it says cant turn on bluetooth , and when I try trough settings it says cannot start the Blutooth stack ???? If i do a soft reset BT will work but if i disabale and try to connect again im having the same issue ....some one help me out
TP2 sprint
have exact same issue with my parrot MK6100
have to press end call many time on the remote to end the call sucessfully
Me too, also using Parrot 6100
The bluetooth is a nightmare. I have a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT with v3 software and I can't even answer the phone when it rings. I even sent to phone to automatically answer after 1 ring and when BT is connected it just freezes the dialer. Then when I hang up a call the phone freezes for about 20 seconds. It sucks so bad.
verizon tp2, jawbone prime.
from prime: I can initiate voicecalling. I can answer a call. I just cannot end a call from the headset.
I think the blue tooth issues are due to the locking of the fm raido they reside on the same chip they talk about this on ppcgeeks
I have issues with my Ford Sync as well. If bluetooth is on and I want to use the Sync system I have to turn off bluetooth then turn it back on to get it to work. Quite annoying. I never had any issues with my XV6800 so it must be the bluetooth radio in the phone. Hopefully they come out with an update or when 6.5 is out it gets fixed.
WITHOUT DOUBT THE BLUETOOTH on the TP2. I have the same issue with Parrot 3200. It may be that different drivers would help.
Anyone been brave enough to try anything else?
Ditto here, but I'll take it a step farther:
I'm using a Jawbone Prime with my Verizon Touch Pro2 and it's not only unable to end calls from the headset, but it will disconnect the headset at random in the middle of calls. The only way I figure it out is to pick up the phone when I can't hear anything, only to find the "headset disconnected, place the handset to your ear" message.
Annoying.

Same setup and results here, and additionally the redial last number feature is spotty at best.
When HardSPL comes out, I'm going to offer a bounty for $50 for whoever can get the MS stack working correctly on our devices with all profiles. Anyone else in with me?

Seeing exact same random disconnect issue with my jawbone prime and my sprint touch pro 2. It happened twice today. One time I was speaking and didn't even realize it had happened for several minutes! Any fix for this?
I contacted HTC over this. The more people that complain about it to HTC, the quicker they will release a fix.
