[found!] Stereo headset (re)connection app requested ! - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

Solution found: use battery status. In its last builds it has an option to enable A2DP directly by pressing BT tray icon
---------------------------------------------------
Hi mates,
Does everybody has the same problem with BT profiles ?
It goes well from stereo (listening music) to headset (calling) profile, when a call is incoming. But when the call is ended, or if you disabled bluetooth meanwhile (or turned off the headset), you must go to BT options, devices, then tap 'n hold the headset and set it as wireless stereo. Quite a long operation for a simple task, I had in mind that someone could write a cmd-line app which would do this ?
I had once a rom/a2dp patch/reg values combination that worked well with calls ending -> music goes on. But thus it didn't automatically connect the headset (as wireless stereo) on first start. Maybe this is by design, to avoid cutting off the sound coming out from the pda each time you activate BT, but it's annoying to me
So..... Am I the only one ?
Niko
ps: Vijay's VJVolubilis almost do this, but only for headset profile AFAIK

No, the 'not-returning a2dp club' is full of people... you can be the mr. president if you want...

I had the same problem. I returned my BT stereo headset because of the same problems. I'm done with A2DP.

FYI, I asked a few authors to check if they can do something about this.
So you may follow the development of those apps if you're interested in a one-click A2DP Stereo connection : AEBPlus, Battery Status and VJVolubilis.
I'll try to post again when something new is coming.

Ah... have any of you guys tried the later A2DP patches?
And why not just use the bluetooth button to reconnect wireless stereo?

I don't have any hardware button, nor any icon (except the one from battery status) associated to bluetooth. Would you please detail what you were talking about ? If it's an icon, could you try to extract the corresponding exe ?
I tried many A2DP patches, not sure if they are the latests or not, but none provided automatic stereo reconnection, at least when I just turned my headset (or bluetooth) on. Since I do that often....

I mean the button on your bluetooth headset. Click it once to connect; sometimes it needs another click to activate wireless stereo. I know not every headset supports this, but an A2DP headset should.
You might have to set wireless stereo once from the device, but after that, the headset should activate using its button the next time.
Resume problem should be fixed with the AKU3+ A2DP patches. Again, YMMV.

Note: Sorry for the double-post... site's really slow.

It doesn't have one..... it automatically connect, but in headset mode (phone), not stereo
I'll try to test with another one in a shop.

Sorry but.... YMMV ? ^^
Didn't try AKU3.x yet, have you hear good reports from prophet users ? I haven't at that time..
I'll give it a try (or WM6) when my device will be back from warranty

See comment #26. Certainly not conclusive based on one report. I've never encountered the problem, so....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284344&page=3
It doesn't have a button? How does it answer phone calls then? Or the button pops up the phone app on the first press instead of just connecting?

The main button can answer calls, or end a current call.
Its second ability is to turn on/off the headset
I have AVRCP buttons for next/prev music operation, and one of them can dial the last number when pressed for a long time.
I guess I can also reject a call, can't remember how, but the connection thing is supposed to be automatic (Already tried to press buttons to check if it would (re)connect...)
Since it's kind of noname headset (CallStell), I won't even try to request help from them ^^
hum, that's it
ps: What does YMMV stands for ?
I'll give a try to that new patch. Interesting thread btw ! Can't read it completely by now, can I try that patch if I'm still on AKU2.x rom ?

Hmmm... my guess is that the power button or the call answer button should (re-) connect the headset once you have done it once manually ("set as wireless stereo"). Or maybe not.
There are two versions on that thread - one is from AKU 3.3, the other is from WM6. Not much difference between the two, but they are both better than the older Tornado patch in terms of compatibility, IMHO. Either can be used for any version of Prophet AKU 2.0 and up.
Oh, YMMV - your mileage may vary.

please explain more about installation.
where can i get ruu file for prophet?

meykou, just go through this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284344
Makes a lot more sense if you read it from the beginning. Hard to explain otherwise.

I once tried many A2DP patches/few rom versions and player combinations.
I got different results, few were very poor, most of 'em was pretty nice.
But it always missed at least 1 thing ^^
Either the sound quality, the resume-after-call or the sound-drop **** ^^
But I'm not sure anymore if I managed to get rid of the latter at least once.. but it was not that bad, one sound drop every 2 songs, for 1 or 2s., or so... still anoying, but usable.
Oh, and what I first wanted to say, I tried to reconnect via the main button, but no results. I should try with another headset, btw. What's yours ? And would you advise me to buy it ?

Oh, ok
I downloaded both of them, and will give a new try to every combination I can figure out as soon as I have more time.
Thanks for your answers btw. I'll keep posting if a software solution is found.
And I'm quite sure that meykou only wants a working-one-click-install WM6 rom

Well, good luck. I'm using the i.Tech R35, BTW.

A2DP + Prophet + Music resume
Wow! It works.
It took time for me to realise that it resumes music after a little pouse.
I need to push button only once to cancel the phone call.

BT Headset w/caller ID and XDA II/IMate PPC

In reviewing the forums, I am unable to find a "straight" answer (at least one I can understand), about whether *ANY* BT headset with caller ID will fully work with the XDA II (or in my case, the IMATE PPC).
My configuration:
Imate PPC (XDA II)
ROM: 1.72.00WWE (3/15/04)
Radio: 1.14.00
Protocol: 1337.24
ExtROM: 1.72.800
I am running Pocket Bluetooth Tools V1012 (also tried 1100).
Can anyone tell me if the Sony-Ericsson HBH-660 or any other caller-ID enabled BT headset will properly display the caller number and/or name with the above hardware/software profile?
I know for sure that the Jabra BT800 will NOT. The headset works (actually, works great... good reception!), but the caller ID does not work.
Thanks in advance!
-Kevin.
Hi,
There are many ways to get the Bluetooth with Caller ID works on the PPC. The trick is that the Caller ID needs a Hands Free profile, which is not standard in the PPC. After using one of these ways, you will end up having the the caller number only appears, but no names. If this is what you want, I can tell you how it could be done.
Hi Waladany,
Yes, I would be very interested in knowing how to get it to work. A number (without name), is perfectly acceptable. I still have the Jabra BT800 headset for about 6 more days before I must return it for a refund, so I can use it to test.
Thanks in advance.

Jabra BT800 and Caller ID and XDAII WM2003SE
I would also be VERY interested in how to get this to work... Thx...
Ok Guys, here are what i got.
You have two ways:
1- Install the merged rom made by sin (you can find it in the forum), as it includes the bluetooth fix. ( This is what I tried)
2-a- Install the Bluetooth Handsfree fix, I will attach it for you. After installing both updates, you should try to bond with the Headset. you should be receiving the message telling you that this is a Hands Free Device (Yes or No). You better say yes. If you said No, another message pop up twice asking if it is a Handset Device.
2-b- As a test, if you already have the headset bonded, you can go to the devices screen in bluetooth. Click and hold on the device, you should see a shortcut menu with the option "set as Hand Free". Try to select and test the Hands Free

I have the merged ROM by Sin, but still experience the same microphone issues. The CallerID works great, but the microphone on the headset is not active. Both the speaker and microphone on the XDA-II are operating.

Are you referring to the registry fix? I think that just makes you able to select hands-free at all. It doesn't fix the microphone problem.
The only thing I've heard that works is the 2.20 Chinese version. But I'm pretty happy with the Sin version. I wish we could find a quick fix for it.
If I've missed a new BT fix from Sin, please post the link here.
Thanks
bt
no way no how will BT CID work fully on even 2.20!! It sucks.
On 2005 it works FLAWLESSLY. But there are bugs on 2005, lack of mem, contacts and email database are new so will not work with many third party software, etc.
Even if you add the reg key "HadsfreeProfileOn", (Sins fix), or have any BT stack or even pray to the bluetooth God, your ****ed on 2.02 - 2.06.
2.20 is ****ty.. If I receive another call while using handsfree, even if I do not answer it, I loose all sound and mic ON BOTH until I click on Tools, Hands free off and then again tools hands free on.
Sometimes the mic - duel speaker things comes back and you have to reboot.

[very improtant]Blueplaye makes any wm machine support a2dp

wm5 version:
http://download.msi.com.tw/support/swr_exe/cmu_swr/MSI_PPC50_0510.exe
wm2003 version:
http://download.msi.com.tw/support/swr_exe/cmu_swr/MSI_PPC42_0509.exe
open the software, swith your headset to pairing mode, and select option -select device- refresh- ok
and then add sounds and enjoy.
but there is such a pity that Blueplayer doesn't support headset other than MSI headset. It can only play 30 second per music.. Seems it has an MAC limited, hope someone will make a crack soon.
If this is true, then it might be possible to reverse the app and rip out the bluetooth record and create a new generic profile..
Does the music play on any headset for 30 seconds? If so, that should be quite easy to crack.
V
any headset except the MSI headset
So any headset works for 30 seconds?
V
yes you r right
I had test the programme with my i tech clip s35,it only could play 30s.it there any crack file?
waiting for the crack!
any cracks now? or anybody has a plan to crack this?
waiting

I'm looking at the program right now. A couple of things: Wow, it's big at 3MB! I noticed two files, CHS.dll and TW.dll. My guess is that these are additional language files for Chinese and Taiwanese, considering the origin of the company. It may be safe to remove it, saving 2MB!
If you can't get the program to launch properly, and it comes up with an "MPOBCE: !pl2CAPLoad. 1062" error message, you have to perform a soft-reset and try again.
In theory, if you're looking for a 30-second time-limit, a simple hexidecimal string you could be looking for is "1E 00." Of course, the file is replete with this string, so it could just be a matter of time until you find the right one. Once you do find the right one, you could change it to "FF FF" meaning 65,535. That will make the time limit 65,535 seconds = 1,092 minutes = 18.20 hours time allotted per playback. Sounds feasible?
I have a Bluespoon AX2, but no Bluetooth Stereo Headset, and it doesn't seem to want to pair it. It detects it during the scan/refresh, but there's nothing I can do afterwards, can't enter a PIN or anything.

That sure is too simple. Who says that it isn't 31 secs or min/60 or hr/3600. That would result in different codes.
I checked the disassembled code but didn't come further than turning off the popup bubbling: "This player is only for MSI-headsets". No clue where the limit is coded (but on the other hand: I'm not asm expert).
The real hardore coding boyz should be able to make a workaround. But maybe there is no interest.
All in all there is the question what BluePlayer makes better than WMP.

Any expert cracked this software?? I'm very desirous to find out a solution for my 818pro. Thxxxxx
I dunno... despite having to convert everything to wma and wmv... I can't complain about WMP.
Jed - the piece they're interested in is the apparent 'A2DP' profile. A2DP allows for, among other, stereo audio to bluetooth audio devices. The default profile with Windows Mobile doesn't allow this. It was present in a Qtek test ROM, but it was removed again for the final AKU2 ROM. It may be back in AKU2.2 once whatever issues they found are addressed.
Overall...
If you're not using a bluetooth audio device, you won't care
If you do, but it's a mono device, you won't care
If you do, and it's stereo, but you don't care about stereo sound - duh
Has anyone been able to get this working on a Wizard? I have an Imate KJAM and since Imate is retarded and ripped the A2DP support out of their lastest firmware update, I am still looking for a stereo bluetooth solution.
I tried installing it and it seems to run ok, but after I pair it with my stereo bluetooth headset and press the PLAY button, nothing much happens, my headset LED changes to paired mode, but the time counter doesn't start incrementing and I get no audio. Not sure if it's my Bluetooth Stereo headphones or the KJAM. Any ideas?
I also try this program in my eten m500 & It's work.
However I think this 30 second problem 's not the limit of time. It's limit of song's length. since I try to play my ringtones that shorter than 30 second continously 3-4 song ( It mean 2-3 min.). It can run without any error. The error will be shown when any song run to 00.31
Paladin27 , I think you have to check in option- select device , I think your bluetooth device still not in the list.

Um, I know. I was wondering why people seem so adamant to NOT use WMP when it seems to do the job just fine with an updated BT stack.

Bluetooth headset profile

Guys,
I did search through the forum and I found several users with the following problem but no solution yet.
I use a bluetooth headset a lot (not a stereo, just a regular one!) and when I answer a call, people on the other side can not hear me. I have to go to bluetooth setting and do "Set as handfree" on the device so that it works again.
But it only works for a couple of minutes! The next call that I use my headset I need to do it again.
Is there a solution for this?
PS: My bluetooth headset is a Motorola H700.

I use a Plantronics 510 (or something like that) and I haven't had any problems with WM6 disconnecting from it like you describe. I have went to answer the phone with it a couple of times and it didn't seem to be linked up, but I just press the button on the headset and it links right up and then answers the call on the next press. But thats only happened a couple of times and I think each of those times I had walked away from my phone so probably went out of range (so I'm guessing the phone just hadn't noticed the BT headset being in range yet).
Try deleting the partnership and setting it up again after a soft reset.
I too have a Plantronics Voyager I think its called and I have not had this problem. I tossed my Motorola BT because the audio level was way too low on it.

hey.... it worked!!!! At least so far! :-D
I have repaired the headset (but I tried that several times in the past!) and untick the hands free and ticked it again and now I have tried several times and it seems that it is working.
I do not understand way. Can you explain I this non-sense procedure solves the problem
I had a little problem pairing my Plantronics Explorer 340 with my device, but after the pairing, it did work without any problems. apparently some WM6 roms out thre are having this issue. I would suggest re-flash your device and se how it works
I have a Plantronics 655 and don't have this problem. The only thing out of the ordinary that I do when pairing though is re-name the headset (defaults to 6xxPlantronics, I change it to Plantronics 655)
However, I experience a slightly different problem. My BT headset and handset don't automatically re-pair after returning in range or resetting the handset. Anyone else experiencing this?
Everytime I walk out of range or reset my phone, I would have to turn off my headset then turn it back on for the two to pair back up. I sometimes forget and when I hear the handset ring, I pick up w/ the headset only to find that they're no longer paired. Is there a way to have the two automatically pair back up? I never had this problem when I was using AKU3 roms and the stock Cingular 2.25 ROM.

A2DP Issues

Hi all,
Laurentius and I are looking at resolving the current issues with A2DP (Many fixes will be in our latest rom, however issues vary from headset to headset.
Some work fine, others are poor quality and some receive PDA lockups or long pauses between streams.
Please could those with A2DP issues, and the need for this protocol to work properly, post the following information.
The current Rom you are you using
The make and Model of your headset
A list of issues you are currently having with A2DP.
Please also try the following to resolve the issue.......
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings\
Remove (Delete the following entries)
BitPool
MaxBitpool
and add the following
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway]
"Capability"=dword:0000003C
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings]
"SampleRate"=dword:0000BB80
"UseJointStereo"=dword:00000001
Please then remove (un-pair) your headset and Soft Reset
After SR please re-pair Headset and test A2DP again.
Please keep this thread clean and only post A2DP issues with the required information listed above.
Thanks,
Cheers,

I also have Ivan's V1 Rom and have an Itech Radio headset. I completed the changes that you suggested and found that A2DP works well it did before the changes too. I have noticed that the sound quality may be a little better and the pauses are slightly reduced.
The main problem I have found with A2DP with all AKU0.5 ROMS is the pairing of the headset. If you soft reset you phone while the headset is on, A2DP will be auto detected when the phone comes up. If you play music then the music starts and stops and the phone becomes unstable. The work around is to turn your headset off, soft reset the phone. When the phone comes up turn the headset on and activate A2dp by pressing the button on the phone. Music then plays fine.
The registry changes you suggested did not help the above problem. AKU0.5 ROMS all seem to have this A2DP autodetect error on reset at least with my headset. Very frustrating.

Can you please further shed light in detail on the jointstereo?
Why jointstereo to be 1 or 0?
Thanks in advance!

It goes well with joint stereo. Seems that it needs much less bandwidth. I've heard that jointstero=1 means that there is mono sound in effect.
"UseJointStereo"=dword:00000001 << mono
"UseJointStereo"=dword:00000002 << joint stereo
"UseJointStereo"=dword:00000000 << stereo

I'm not quite sure if my problem is right here - because i still have the original (last build) WM5 ROM (130.96 GER, Radio 1.09.00, ExtROM 1.30.185 GER).
I encounter statics while using the Logitech bluetooth headset, which is a mono one, making phone calls impossible due to stressed phone partners ... Only the person on the other end of the line encounters interruptions, me, as calling, not.
This is the main issue for me to update the ROM, and I'm trying to find out if any of your nice new ROMs will be of help.
Anyway, I haven't tried yet I'm afraid to destroy my device ...

A2DP and wireless
Just to be clear, my results are when I do not have wlan activated.
I changed UseJointStereo=dword:00000000.
Quality is good and it is definitely stereo.
Still have the auto detect problem. Interesting though, if I walk out of range for a while with the headset on, when I come back into range the A2dp is autodetect and the music starts playing through the headset again, quality is good. If I soft reset with the headset on and A2DP is autodetected, the headset is unusable.
If you do any of this with wlan on the quality is very poor with starts and stops.
Also noticed that audio manager does a better job with bluetooth than gsplayer, I think audio manager may have better caching.
Freezing
I think there's a problem with the latest core os files (AKU 0.7.0)... i havent' tried the MS BT stack, but with the Widcomm, using the bluetooth for anything more than 1 min, completely freezes the phone.
It does when listening music, transferring files, etc... if BT is idle, nothing happens (except than freezing the device when the Comm Manager gets confused and enables BT instead of gsm radio).
So it seems related to the core files.
Switching on and off, transferring data thru BT is a critical task and subject to lockups.
For the record, i used to use the BT A2DP and file transfer without ANY problem whatsoever in my old and horribly-underpowered HTC Tornado (omap850 @195mhz) so IT MUST WORK!
im using your latest rom and Motorola HT820 does not have a problem with it... even in the earlier roms you cooked... even tried it in indra's xoj version and darkforce's rom..
just wanted to clear it out just so you can rule something out...

Plantronics Pulsar 260
Sound stops coming fter about 1 second of playback (used TCPM,
Audio Manager)
The same result after applying those reg mods....
Please try and install the stack found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291639
A2DP problems should go away, but then will come the freeze-after-1-min problems, like with my HP Stereo bluetooth headset
I've flash to your latest WM6 AKU 0.7 (WIFI Fix update 3) ROM just now. But sadly to say, the freezing thing still occurs after playing music with Audio Manager. It even freezes when watching videos using WMP. Usually around 1 minute it shall start freezing. FYI:
Bluetooth model: i-tech Clip

I'm not quite sure if my problem is right here - because i still have the original (last build) WM5 ROM (130.96 GER, Radio 1.09.00, ExtROM 1.30.185 GER).
I encounter statics while using the Logitech bluetooth headset, which is a mono one, making phone calls impossible due to stressed phone partners ... Only the person on the other end of the line encounters interruptions, me, as calling, not.
This is the main issue for me to update the ROM, and I'm trying to find out if any of your nice new ROMs will be of help.
Anyway, I haven't tried yet I'm afraid to destroy my device ...
thanx

I had the Qtek 9000 with italian version WM5 and i flashed WM6 with no problems. if you dont wanna have any problems unzip the attached file and add in the folder the 3 files (ms_.nbf ; nk.nbf ; radio_.nbf) from your prefered WM6 ROM (I personally use the latest Laurentius & Beast ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325466) start into bootloader (Power+backlite+softreset) and ROMUpgradeUt.exe
VERY IMPORTANT: you have to charge your batery before any flashing

Considering HTC Fuze - Have a few questions

Hey everyone! I'm happy to be a member here!
I have been considering getting the AT&T version of the phone (Fuze), but have a few questions regarding features:
1) Music and FM Radio - Can you leave it playing in the background while doing other things on the phone?
2) Data - If you have a WIFI connection to the internet, will it use that as a primary connection instead of using the carriers network? Can you turn the carrier data usage off? (I realize this might be different with different ROMS).
3) Alarm Clock - Can you customize alarm tones? Will the alarm still sound even when phone is set to silent?
4) Ringtones - Can you customize message tones? Does the phone have a "vibrate & ring" function?
---
I so far have been interested in flashing this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536751.
If I have the Microsoft WM virtual software, can I use it to test the custom roms?
1. I'm pretty sure you can, I just don't usually use my phone for music because of the nonexistant 3.5mm headphone jack.
2. Yes you can use wifi as the primary connection, I also do not have a data plan, you can shutoff data in the settings menu and you can download a data blocking program just in case. Be careful though i've had instances where i forgot to turn on wifi and it still used data. A last resort would be to call ATT and tell them to turn off any data connections.
3. I have not used the built in alarm, but i have used the KLAXON alarm program and it still rang when i had my phone on vibrate.
4. Yes the phone has a vibrate and ring function, I'm pretty sure you can change the message ringtone as well.
Other members may need to clarify these things though.
Yes to all four but I will say do not get the FUZE now. Its successor is going to be out within 2 months, wait for that.
Thanks for the responses!

I have thought about that, the Rhodium, right? I have a few reasons why I wont be getting that. For one, once that is out, the Fuze will be cheaper. I am not looking to get one immediately, maybe within the next 3-4 months. For another, there is not much development for it yet, and I want to immediately flash it with an updated ROM to get the most out of it. But I agree, the Rhodium does look great!

Hard SPL just came out and custom roms are ready... But whatever floats your boat.
Another question:
Can the musicplayer AND FM radio go out on the speakerphone? Or do you have to have headphones plugged in?
i believe fm can go out of the speakerphone since music can. you just need some sort of wire to act as an atenna for the program.
I listen to my music on speakerphone sometimes when i'm alone and i do not have access to my laptop.

FM radio uses headset as antennae so it will not function through speaker.

it CAN come out of the speaker(you can toggle between speaker and headset/headphones), but you need to connect the headset in order to use the radio, as the headset acts as the antenna...
without a headset, if you try to turn on the radio, the app will tell you to connect a headset....
you can use the (included) extUSB adapter with a 3.5mm regular earphones to use the radio

That's right, I forgot that you can toggle from the UI.
The FM Radio can go through the speaker. There is a button you can press to switch the feed through headphones or speaker. But of course headphones must be plugged in to get signal.
You can customize practically every sound that comes out of it, e-mail, sms, mms, phone, etc. You can also customize the phone ringer however you want. The way I set mine up is to "vibrate 1 second, pause 1 second, vibrate 1 second, continue vibrating and then ring". This allows me to notice my phone is ringing and give me 3 seconds to get it out of my pocket and answer it before it actually makes any noise. You can modify this with a registry entry, it isn't difficult
Yeah, I am loving the customization aspects of this phone from what I have seen so far, of course WM6+ makes it possible, plus all of the developers cooking roms for us! Thanks for all the input! I can't wait to get one. Now if I could just find one cheap that doesnt require a data plan. (That's what WIFI is for).
I have an app that adds the Remote Desktop Utility this version of WM, dang that will be handy! This phone with custom flashes could be a do all device!
Another question. With the Energy ROM specifically, is it possible to play .FLV files? How about DVD (video) .ISO files?
Thanks again!
