Is it possible to install WM6 on an I-Mate SP5 ?

hi all
anyone know how to install WM6 on an I-Mate SP5 ?
I've tried this but always run into problems.
1) SPV-Services errors with -2146893818
2) lokiwiz errors with "could not update itsutils.dll"
I have confirmed that i have an active connect to activesync and can sync if needed.
please help !

well, i have had the sp5 rom on my 2125, and i am now running the wm6 va alpha.
either way, i had a lot of slow down issues with the beta version. if you get past the CID unlocking, install the alpha version instead.
also, are you getting that error when you click the CID Tool option?

Hi, I installed WM6 on my SP5 yesterday and so far all is working well. I followed the instructions as set out on the link below with the exception of item number 10.

Although i used the Perfect English version and not mobile 6 Beta, everything works as planned:
1. Flashed with WM6GSMUPDATE.zip
2. Used SPV-Sevices client and run the CID tool.
3. Disabled USB and entered bootload mode
4. Run TeraTermPro and edited as described in that post.
5. Flashed with Perfect English WM6 ROM
6. Downloaded the Short_AP1 ~ Short_AP4 and unzipped to /windows : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=46839&d=1186790764
7. Soft Reset.
I had a problem with my contacts due to me not backing up correctly. DSF made a suggestion which has resolved the problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323136

The problem is that the SPV-Sevices errors with -2146893818 so i can't superCID.
exactly what do i need to do with SPV-Sevices to SuperCID the phone ?
this is driving me nuts, i can't even update the ROM with WM6GSMUPDATE.zip, when i do, the ROM update utility goes through it's passes, the indicator progresses to 100% but when the phone reboots, it's still at ROM version 2.5.331.2.
nothing is working !

The last time SPV services didnt work on my SP5 I realised that I hadnt app unlocked my phone yet. After I unlocked it all went well.

how does one app unlock the phone ?

Hotsync your phone to your computer and run SDAUnlock. I hope it works for you.
After you upgrade to WM6 you will need to run one of the button fix files associated with the rom. Otherwise your contact and messaging buttons wont work.

I got the same error when i tried to unlock using the application. Had to use the registry editor and set to entries, after that I could run the st servies app to super cix, then all worked well on my sp5. Bin running wm6 english since last week thursday.
Only prob i have is when my screen goes black, sometimes it actually goes white like when you activate the flashlight application. Also had to disable the light sensor as during the day it was making the screen so light that i couldnt see my screen.

application unlock, then supercid. that -2364527465 problem is the application unlock problem.

it says "the phone in not unlockable"
i even tried re-flashing with the latest I-Mate ROM and tried app unlocking, no deal.
I can't even see the reg entries in HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies..
What gives ?

Weird. All I did to unlock my phone was to run the attached executable file and it was done. I also have an imate sp5 so I don't know why it is different for you. Just to make sure I am attaching my file. So you can try with it. By the way, I guess your activesync connection must be on when you run this tool. But I am no expert. Just try once more.

Did you reboot your phone anot ?

this is hopeless... still can't unlock.
do you think it's due to the fact that i'm running the latest i-mate rom, version 2.5.331.2 ?

Dont give up! try these apps. Run the cab from your phone. I think the exe runs from your computer and installs through activesync. Hope you have some luck soon.

Because the ROM comes with no T9 or xT9.
You should install one of these and then add your languages if you need.

may be that. before I upgraded to wm6, I never installed a new rom on my imate. So I don't remember what the rom version was, but it wasn't the latest.

Dutty 1.1 install problem - please help stuck at 0% and recovery starts

I have the new Hard SPL installed and when I try to install the Dutty 1.1 it's reseting my device and show likes it going to update and it just sits there at 0%. After that it says stuff about recovery and I do all that, and get everything back to normal again. Last I try the update agian and stuff get the same thing over and over.
Has NE1 ran into this problem at all?

I had the same due the fact that I had not run hardspl before installing the ROM.

Can you guys tell me which version of hardSPL you used? When i try using kaiser-HardSPLv1 and also Kiaser-HardSPL-3.28 and both fail to install. Where am i going wrong?? Thanks in advance for anyone's assistance.

No Phone Radio

My friend has an apache. Somehow it has no Phone radio. When the boot screen comes up it says Radio: NONE. How can I install JUST the radio. Ive tried reflashing to no avail! Thanks in advance!

So what exactly did you do?
i just bought a phone on Ebay and guess what? it had no Radio..
so now i went to try and update the 1.43 radio that i gto from the above mentioned link.. but it gives me an error on the device and wont install...
would i just need to flash a Radio to it?
please help, ive searched and found this post somwhat useful

hey, this will help. One guy posted a link to download it via rapidshare. But unless you pay, you will have to wait, can only download one thing at a time, and it is slow and it sucks. The thing with radio is, usually if it's working fine for you then you're hesitant to upgrade it, especially if you're not 100% sure if the new radio version is stable ...
Can more ppl chime in if the new radio version is working fine?
The one thing I care more about is actually BT reception ... I have 3.07.90 and while the phone reception is pretty good, BT reception is terrible ...

its not corrupted..probably u have to unlock the CID of ur phone...i am using it successfully on my phone for last 12-15 hours

How risky is it to update the Radio? If it goes wrong, can I update it again, or does it have the potential to brick my device like a ROM update?

hey keep us in the loop on how things go over the next few days buddy .... if all is well after another 3-4 days I'll upgrade to this ROM too!
BTW, have you noticed any difference in battery drain?

so far i've not seen any noticeable difference by using this radio, but i'm still monitoring the performance and if i notice something i'll surely update

there seems to be really less call drops in this radio version.. been using it since yesterday and havent dropped any call since.. thanks

And how do you update? Just use RUU and put the radio ROM in the same folder? And I guess you have to rename the .nbh file "ROM_signed.nbh"?
(Edit ... silly me... it's already named ROM_signed.nbh ... so I guess put it in the same folder as RUU and just run the Rom Update utility and it'll update itself?)

For those with Rogers Elfins, we have 03.07.90 for our current Radio version.
There is a thread that has this 03.07.90 version of the radio to download:

Would this work if we tried to do a restore of 03.07.90 on an Elfin?

dsixda, until someone's actually tried to downgrade back to 3.07.90 I guess we just won't know ... but good thing you have found the thread with the current radio ROM, so worse comes to worst you can always try.
I just know last time 3.12.90 was available, people upgraded to it, and had all sorts of problems with it (phone dropping connection for no reason), they were able to go back to 3.07.90 without any problem.
Which does not 100% guarantee you can go back from 3.18.90 to 3.07.90, but it's a good start. And really, here we hope the new radio is stable enough we won't have to go back anyways.

i've flashed it many times and never have problem before.
my device has been unlocked.
last night,i flashed a china mobile's official rom and then i forgot to
unlock,just flashed the other roms but then finished 100%,cannot
hard reset just virbrated couldnot stop,needs to unload the battery.
i have checked the spl is the same like unlock ones but i have tried many
roms including official english rom,the problem still exit.kindly help me to
solve it

Press and hold the camera button...reset with the stick.....when you can see the color bars release the stick and after the camera button..
If the color bars is in your screen , everything is ok.You can flash the rom.
The color bars is the bootloader.
I wonder what's your radio version....

Check again if the hard spl is right.
No need to hard spl the device when you want to flash a new rom.
Hard spl is for one time and that's it.
If your radio version is 1.65.xx.xx ,you must downgrade it first to 1.59.xx.xx.

Ohhh come on...Did you Hard spl your device with Olipro hard spl v2?? Good !!!
If the radio that you have right now is 1.65.xx.xx ,you never let you flash any other rom with included radio,until you downgrade first your radio to any 1.59.xx.xx.
So you must try first a new radio and after if everything goes well ,flash your original Htc's rom..

my radio always 1.59 i never flashed the 1.65radio
bootloader shows:
POLA100 MFG
SPL-2.20.0linex
CPLD-2
at the moment,i flashed 1.59.42.23 first then i flashed wm6.5rom without radio,which rom was done by one man
after i did these 2 steps but still the same problem

Too bad then..........very strange....I'll search for it..if i find something i'll let you know...For now keep trying with official roms with radio included..

i also doubt the radio has problem,u see the bootloaer shows right,indicate this device has unlocked.when i finished flash,i can see the device want to start but it seems no ablitity to .just viberting

i cannot seen anything.because the mobile cannot start the screen is black never open.
by the way,i flashed the official rom russian version according to my device.i downloaded from
the htc website through my device's s/n

I haven't big knowledge in Polaris hardware but i think its IPL it cant start device.
One thing, find a full dump of original rom with IPL, SPL, Radio and OS and try to flash it.
But if that dont help - too bad =( maybe bad sectors in IPL

i flashed the official roms which including the ipl spl radio and os.
do u meant i should find a full rom to dump it and then to flash them one by one? but the problem is i can not flash the ipl under the bootloader

i have dumped the full rom of htc original one but just have spl.nb windows.nb splash.nb radio.nb i cannot see the ipl
who can give me a better tool to dump?
