Does anyone know if you can change the sounds available for text messages, missed calls, alarms etc like you can change the ringtone by importing a new one. The sounds available on the system are pretty c*ap. Help please
Try looking at PhoneAlarm from PocketMAX
It will change all those sounds for you and you can use any mp3's you want.

I'm using an O2 based ROM (I think) and I want to change the alert tones on it back to the original ones I had on my P3300 or just some other tones. Can someone point me in the direction to find a collection of tones? I know one exists but I couldn't find one using the search.

Heres an entirely new sound scheme that replaces your system sounds with another set.
Here's a few I use for email notification, text message, and wakeup alarm.

Ok so i really wanna take sounds i have on my phone and change them in to dtmf tones when i dial a number on my phone i thought that this was pretty cool when i saw an iphone do it with sounds from one of my favorite shows.... i already know that anything OGG or MP3 is supported by android devices but i want to either know how to get into the root menus and change this or find an app that will simply change them without having to root my device please help!!!!!

I asked this question previously on the Q&A section with no luck, so I guess it is not possible yet, as I have asked about and tested several calendar apps.
What I would like is a calendar app where you can change the notification sound for each calendar event, so I get the oppotunity to select a custom sound for each event (e.g. the stock notification sounds or some I have transfered to the phone myself).
It would also be nice if You could preconfigure categories to have different notification sounds. e.g., I have a category called family, school, and so on. Then I would like to set a sound for each category.
Dont know if it is possible, but I would be glad if it was, and someone is up for it
