i have the strange situation, that my 750v shows an incomming call from (e.g.) "thomas muster" only as "thomas".
how comes?
sms are received with the full name. in the calling log there is the full name. only in the incomming call message and the call menu it is "thomas".
dont know how that comes.
I´m sure that the number is also stored on your simcard with the first name only... Delete it!

i bet they are stored as a speed dial... and the speed dial display is just the forename and not the nachname too. Go to Speed Dial options and edit their label to include whatever you want...
that seems to be exactly what caused the problem. the contact was set in speed dialing.

never noticed this before but it's really annoying.
I received a text earlier from someone whos number is not in my phone book (cos they are a company and I don't need to speak to them often).
but, I can't call them back!...if I click on the number it asks me if I want to create a contact...when I click no (because I don't)...it just goes back to the SMS....
how can I just call them?????

Hi, i have a little problem with the wm 6.5. When i receive a
call for example 7777777 i get a number calling recognition in a
+307777777 form. The problem is that when i call back the network says its the wrong number meaning it cant recognize the +30. It works only if i change it to 0030, but i cant every time i receive a call to change the prefix.in addition to this the contacts are gettting updating after i receive a call meaning that i used to call somebody but after he calls me back the saved contact is updated so i cant call him back unless i change the prefix. Any suggestions?

On a lot of calls, my phone will ring and it will show a number like 416-123-1234 as calling with no name at all. If I don't answer, then the notification bar and call logs will show "Missed Call from ABC COMPANY". Anyone know why it doesn't always show the name when the call is actually coming in and then does later? I don't have any caller ID apps or things like that, and I even enabled google's caller ID feature but still doesn't do it. Most calls will show the name, but just a handful always do this.

Have the same issue. And I don't see the the caller picture.
For the callers that I have in my contacts as well.
I am on Rogers and can confirm the same issue. It happens sometimes, whilst other times I see the company name and picture even though it is not saved in my Contacts.
All incoming calls from people not in the contact list show caller ID name as "Restricted", despite the phone number being available. Sometimes the incoming number is displayed, sometimes it's not, depending on where the incoming call is shown. The number is always available in call history, and the caller's location is displayed. This is a huge headache, since some of us don't care for answering blocked callers.
This is not a carrier issue, but a glitch in the way the phone interprets the caller ID information.
Has anyone come up with a workaround or fix yet?

I thought it was related to me having the google dialer framework installed.
Now I know I'm not alone. Yeah, pain in the butt.
