All Incoming Calls not in Contacts Show "Restricted" on Verizon - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

All incoming calls from people not in the contact list show caller ID name as "Restricted", despite the phone number being available. Sometimes the incoming number is displayed, sometimes it's not, depending on where the incoming call is shown. The number is always available in call history, and the caller's location is displayed. This is a huge headache, since some of us don't care for answering blocked callers.
This is not a carrier issue, but a glitch in the way the phone interprets the caller ID information.
Has anyone come up with a workaround or fix yet?

Same issue here. Quite frustrating.

I thought it was related to me having the google dialer framework installed.
Now I know I'm not alone. Yeah, pain in the butt.

problem with identify incoming call

hi dudez,
Sometimes when i got call i dont see name of call just show me number, There is a fix for this problem?
Thanx anyway,
ZPDY
that means the person calling you is not in your address book
I don't think zdpy means a person not in his address book!
I have noticed the same thing - intermittently.
The individual ringtones of CallerID aren't working at all on my Magician (I ALWAYS get the default ringtone), and sometimes even the name is not displayed.
I suspect this happens because I seem to have too many contacts (>600, overall >1500 phone numbers)...
I have been removed CallerID and still sometime show me only number with no name even the number store in my addressbook.

[Q] Missed call behavior

I'm new to the android world (just got a Mytouch 4G) and have a vexing issue. I'm a broker and get a lot of calls from random numbers not on my contacts list. The problem is that for missed calls, I call the person back, but the number is still listed on the call log with the missed call. Is there any way to instead have the standard behavior I'd always been used to with older symbian and win-mo phones of automatically clearing the missed call icon when I've called the number back?
Sometimes I have a lot of calls to make and can't get to missed calls until after making those other calls... now when I see a missed call, I have to look through all the numbers I've recently dialed to make sure I haven't already called them back. Am I just missing something, or is there a way to get the desired behavior?

Silence ring when caller is "Unknown"

Dear Sir or Madame,
I would like my phone to ring silently (as if the sound profile were set to "silent") when an "Unknown" caller calls it. By "Unknown" I mean callers who block their number. I do not mean callers who aren't in my address book, whose number is displayed when they call. I do not want the phone to hang up on the calls, redirect them to some other number, or any other type of fancy response.
I have tried over a dozen "call / sms blocker" type apps from the market, and every single one of them has two problems: 1) They are way, way, over complicated, and 2) None of them work properly - each has one or more bugs which interfere with normal usage of my phone.
Does anyone know of an app which would simply "ring" silently for "Unknown" callers, and doesn't do much, if anything, else?
My phone is an HTC Inspire 4G. I can run either Froyo or Gingerbread, in case that is an issue in finding a solution to my problem.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Showtune

Incoming calls don't show name but the log does?

Hey everyone anyone have an idea of what might cause this? I am with Rogers so name as well as number are sent with caller ID. On a lot of calls, my phone will ring and it will show a number like 416-123-1234 as calling with no name at all. If I don't answer, then the notification bar and call logs will show "Missed Call from ABC COMPANY". Anyone know why it doesn't always show the name when the call is actually coming in and then does later? I don't have any caller ID apps or things like that, and I even enabled google's caller ID feature but still doesn't do it. Most calls will show the name, but just a handful always do this.

Have the same issue. And I don't see the the caller picture.
For the callers that I have in my contacts as well.
I am on Rogers and can confirm the same issue. It happens sometimes, whilst other times I see the company name and picture even though it is not saved in my Contacts.

Block callers?

The phone app that came on my Phab2 Pro is not Google's and it doesn't seem to have any way to block spam callers. Anybody else have this problem & how can I fix it?
BTW, I tried installing the real phone app (http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...gle-phone-7-0-140755802-android-apk-download/) but it fails with the message "Parse error".
I installed the Asus contacts and Dialer from the play store. It does just fine for now.
I use Truecaller app. I googled 'best Call Blocker for android" and Truecaller came up on top of several review list.

Using Asus contacts & dialer and, when calls come in, phone rings but no answer screen shows up. I can't answer the call. Ideas?

I'm still using it and I have not had any issues. Has it worked at all for you? If so I'd probably Uninstall apps that you've installed since. If not then maybe start with a fresh install and put that on first. Since you have the same phone it has to be an app conflict.
I use Google Voice, I will never give out the phone number that my carrier assigned me. I only give out my Google Voice phone number, you can block callers or mark as spam. I did like one feature that comes with P2P phone app, the ability to record an active call and it will record both sides of the conversation.

Me too, no problems blocking with Google Voice. Problems with the cell line. Trash marketers programatically continuously dial all possible phone numbers, noting which are activated, without regard to whether or a not lines are cellular. Numbers that are answered progress to stage two, spam calls.

Tried backing out apps but no joy. Wiped phone and now all works. Think the problem was related to removing the SD card last week to make room for 2nd SIM.

Ahh, might have a solution for you. Back in the days before cell phones were popular, landlines ruled the earth with cassette tape answering machines. I would get the same trash and telephone marketers with their systems listening for the caller to say hello and connect you to their marketers, if no one picked up then their system would call until someone picked up. BUT! if that same system got a certain signal it would remove the phone number from their call list.
this link is automated recording of a disconnected or number not in service. Save this as your voicemail greeting, the tones you hear at the beginning are what tell their system that the number is not in service and remove you from their list.
How to block number in lenovo phab2 plus??......it has no option for privacy in settings and call details also does not show any options to block
