Is my phone cid locked?

How can I tell if my phone is cid-locked, I would really like to change the ROM without the risk of bricking it. Has anyone one tried lokiwiz to cidunlock their phone? any advice would be appreciated. BTW I bought the phone from gray market in Hong Kong and is Vodafone branded, do you think it would be locked?
It came preloaded with Dopod Rom, but I don't like it that much. Also what is the best radio rom, the dopod radio rom is a bit weak.

you are on G4, so yes you are still CID locked.
Normally when you flash your rom you will know imediately when it try to update.

so should I try to flash a rom and see what happens? if it goes through without an error it is cid unlocked? if an error pops up it is locked? Should I try this or should I avoid the risks? Any ROM suggestions? Qtek maybe?

Since your phone is G4 chip, i'm pretty sure you are CID locked. Dont worry about the CID locking for now, GOOD ROMS outthere been using different programs to get around CID locking problem. I suggest you can start with PDAMobiz rom from the other thread. REMEMBER USE G4 program not G3 or other programs. or look for any rom that has NoVender CID in the name.

MDA VARIO II with Dopod WM6
I recently bought Tmobile MDA Vario ii with Dopod Wm6. When it boots it shows dopod sign so I think it is dopod. The ROM is 3.54.707.3.
I want to upgrade to Wm6.1 but Tmobile has only official 3.60.xx rom presently available for download. Can I directly flash any Hermis compatible ROM on MDA Vario II.?
Since it has Dopod WM6 the CID lock must have been diabled I suppose. Am I right? and should I directly flash any HERMIS official or extended ROM? what are your suggestions Thanks

I don't know enough about the Hermes and flashing to be certain, but I think you'll need to HardSPL (which bypasses bootloader CID checks) before flashing a ROM.
Take a look at the Hermes sub fora before doing anything though...

Since my device is a G4, and it is impossible to unlock it by any other free solutions. So, I am wondering if I should give it a try with this website?
Actually, I have no problem upgrading to other ROM (like the recent QTEK WWE) with no-vendor ID RUU. But every time when I wanted to try a new ROM, I was kind of nervous and was afriad to brick my phone. CID unlock will certainly ease my mind and give me advantages and brave to try more ROMs.

I am sure a free solution for this is on its way and won't take long.

I can use my prophet with different operators. This means that my pda' s sim is unlocked! How can i know that my pda's CID is unlocked?

If you have a G4 (ipl ending with .0001) then it's not unlocked. (sim lock is not cid lock as you probably already figured hehe )
If you have a G3 however it's probably not unlocked too, but you have check the wiki how to unlock it. Maybe there is some infor there too how to check if it's unlocked yes or no? Since I have a G4 I don't know that

But as said, people are already busy with a free solution to CID unlock a G4, cause if they can do it we should be able to get around it too

I guess you are right. But do you know if people are still working on G4 unlocking? It's been a long time. I thought they have given up already.

Well, I have absolutely no idea to be honest But I just assume they do since it's pretty important with all the rom upgrading going around.
It would be perfect if you upgrade with a not so good rom etc and I guess developers of homecooked roms would like it too.

The protocol was proposed by Looking Glass, so, all the credits should go to him. I modified a little bit based on his procedure as following,
- Decompress and run the exe file (RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe). Don't close your grey installing window.
- Locate the just created temporary directory, something like:
C:\Documents and settings\username\local settings\temp\rarXX , or pftxx or the like (look by time/date, it's, something created one minute before your current time)
- Copy the full directory and contents to somewhere else in your PC.
- Close the still opened grey window
- get ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe from the forum, and copy to the directory you just moved to your pc (You can get it from the ftp). Copy the ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe to your "new" directory, replace the original ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
- from this "new" directory you copied in your PC, execute ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe
That's it. Simple and easy.

How to find out if my Prophet is CID Locked??

I have a Orange SPV M600 IPL 2.10.0001 and SPL 2.10.0001 (that's G4 i think).I want to flash a greek Qtek ROM but i don't know if my phone is CID locked or not.Is there any way to find out if it is CID locked or NOT.And if it is what are my options about upgrading?

Yes! You could have used Search within this forum and would stepped over plenty of answers to this question. Also mentioned in the WIKI. Even 3 days ago someone asked the same question and opened a new thread for that, we gave him the same reply.

G4, and if you haven't touched it then it's definately CID locked and stays CID locked until someone releases a free possibility to have these devices unlocked.

I believe my G4 M600 is both Sim unlocked and CID unlocked, am I incorrect in thinking this as I can install other roms on this list?

No there is no free public available software to CID unlock a G4 yet. so be careful what you tell other people, they could take such assumptions for real and brick their phones.

Your G4 will most probably be not unlocked. Unless you used a paid service online to unlock it, and if you have done that you are sure to know!

qtek s200 help!!!

i updated my s200 with a crossbow rom and now its dead
the update was sucssfull but when i push the power button the screen fliker for les than one sec and that it
my s200 will not go even to bootloader

mh you have g3 ... try the solution out that i mentioned before and try the cid unlock from pdamobiz.com... then reflash an older rom with spl/ipl.

the pdambiz can only be flashed when you are in align screen... if you have 2.21 take a wizard rom and go into align screen with active sync connection and flash the cid unlock rom.
if you have 2.20 then just try another prophet rom out and see if it works...

sorry that its in german but its the only one I have right now... you can also change the language with some programm which is available here in the board..spl and ipl is included and it should downgrade you pda to 2.09
its an original shipped rom, they are always for g3 and g4 right? it doesn't say anything about that, anyways i used it on my g4 and it worked so you might wanna check out before as you have a g3 device, but I'm pretty sure it works for g3 and g4

so i maneged to get my s200 into bootloader
i now i have IPL 1.01 and SPL 1.01 but my device is G3
so i tried to flash RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship.exe
and its start and when it reached 95% igot an error that says
"ERROR 326 ivalid command, the nfb file cannot be used with your pda phone
and one got and idea what to do ????

just now i tried to flash "RUU_Prophet_2090732_20907115_020720_QtekGER_Ship.e xe" and it fail at the first time
so i tried again and it sucsess
and now my qtek work again

Rom install issues

So I have followed the guides, two of them conflicting each other (one tells me Wizard Love while other says Button)
So I pick wizard love because I did the factory update a few years back to 2.25
use loki3
run tmobile 2.26 and it fails
run the 3.08 and it works
try to install TNT roms... all get stuck at 99% except one but the rom doesn't work because I am still on windows 5.1
Now on my third attempt it gets stuck at bootloader. Can't get the phone to turn back on to normal mode just to use it and forget about trying these roms
Any ideas?

Hopefully I can redo everything and get 6.1 to work
It tells me my CID/SIM but no where does anyone tell me where I need to insert this ID code at.

Well, lemme ask you this, what is your device? Is it a G3 or a G4, if G3, then sure, update your IPL/SPL after you upgrade. If it is a G4 however, FOR THE LOVE OF TUNA DO NOT upgrade your IPL/SPL or you will have a brick on your hands. And also, if you have used HardSPL, then no, you do not have to CID unlock your device again. Personally, I just use the SoftSPL method each time I load a ROM. If your device is a G4, I have made a guide in the G4 section that should help you. Its got screenshots and such aswell.

get WST - Wizard Service Tool and follow the instructions to cid unlock you device, unfortunately you cannot unlock your SIM with the SPl that you have for now
After that flash a carrier ROm to align your IPL/SPL to 2.xx

Ohh it now displays 2.26 on both IPL/SPL
From what I read, 3.08 is mainly for the european radio brand in terms of what the focus on it was for

Install in your PC (XP not Vista), check the situation about your CID and SIM
If you have CID unlock = SUpercid you can flash any ROm you want, if not you must downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx (Button Rom)
WST Unlock only works with IPL/SPL 1.xx
Note that SIM can only be unlocked with your SPL as 1.xx

go on run, type msconfig and open that, close all microsoft services and install,

Or you could use tmobile with that phone (or any other company that uses sim chips for service) .
Once you have it completely unlocked (cid/sim) you can take it traveling to other countries and use their prepaid sim cards... This is an open phone. dont get rid of it.
on second thought, I will buy it from you if you dont see a reason why you would keep it. I could use a backup to test my cooking on PM me

Losing Mind (again)
OK, here we go.
First off, I am in no way new to Flashing or the logistics behind it. I am sure this is just something that I cant find by searching. But my problem is this.
I have a G3 TMOBILE USA MDA (Wizard). I have used the lokiwiz2 unlock software several times and according to the program I am SUPERCID unlocked. I am able to flash ROMS all day long. I get no error about loading. What is happening is that I almost always end up with the same default ROM after the FLASH is completed. I am now sitting with the Button ROM on the unit. I assume if the Button ROM loads, then I should be CID Unlocked otr it would not load (or is this my mistake in thinking?)
As my MDA sits now, I have the Beer Mug Displayed, IPL 1.05
SPL 2.26 GSM 01.12.10 OS 1.5.4.2
Now, if I go and try to Flash to one of the Two ROMS I want to go to
TMOUS_MDA_5.2.1629_Wing_Port_1.1 (Boring ROM) or I try with SNN 3.1 it will run the procedure perfectly, and I will end up with a Barebones version of Windows Mobile 5.0. This is wild.
Has anyone seen this happen and is laughing and going "Been there, here is the problem,,) or do I need to discuss this in more detail.
Im wondering if the ROM Upgrade Software is grabbing a ROM from elsewhere on my Hard Drive and is installing it from cache or something like that. Is there another version of the OS Upgrader that allows me to tell it exactly what ROM I want installed, instead of just installing whatever it wants.

My xv6800 and my 8125 was a breeze compared to this nitemare. (BTW, I also flashed this 2 years ago with the TMOBILE USA Official Release, no issue)

Well,these are symptoms of CID not unlocked.Button's Rom flashed doesn't mean its CID unlocked,its a patched IPL/SPL rom simply to downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx for CID unlocking.
Simply,download WST_4.2.2 and run it to verify the CID lock/unlock status of the phone and do the right thing onwards.

I was thinking in the back of my head it was a CID issue. It was just that everything seemed to be "moving right along". I sthere an easier or better Unlocking soiftware then lokwhiz for the Wizard Series, specifically my USA Tmobile MDA?

Well,if you have Button's Rom running successfully,so its IPL/SPL must be 1.xx already,there shudn't be any problem to use lokiwiz02b to CID unlock the phone,you can even use WST_4.2.2 tool also to easily CID unlock the phone.
There's no other method known to get CID unlocked a wizard freely,unless you are ready to pay to IMEI company to get a unlock code

i downloaded Charecters ROM..i used WST and it showed that my device is G3 and its CID locked..well i just started the Flashing and it stuck at 99%
now it wont load any ROM and just as i came from school..its not evening starting..its not evening charging..please help any one
