Handsfree button without function =) - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Windows Mobile 2005 Upgrading

Hello its me again!
I didn't find a solution with the search engine so i try if somebody knows what can be done =)
I am running aku 3.5 wm05 on my Himalaya.
On the dailpad there is a option called "Speaker On" or "Handsfree On".
But when i push the button nothing happens.
I think this is a known problem, but maybe there is a solution for this?
When i push the green phone hardware button for a longer time my handsfree will turn on so there must be a way to emulate this for the virtual button?

To help, you should tell us that your using ROM.
Ciao
tHANKS FOR ANWSERING.
I have tried it with to roms: Rajus 7.4
and now with psidoc wm5 matrik edition...same thing in both!
Help..please!
Mapping the Headset button,
Actually, thats a good point, but i dont think it is going to be that easy. During a call, the headset button puts the call on hold, and is equivalent to the green button on the phone. As far as i remember there was a thread somewhere a year or so back, and no-one managed to get the button to launch VC. However... that was before WM6
In the meantime, i can only suggest mapping the backlight button to VC.. Thats how i do it!
for me, I just simply press the headset button, and it activates VC immediately. I'm using the Beasty ROM, and a Pantronics headset
Well I changed to the beasty rom, and you are right..it works!
Execept- The button still dosent activate VC, I use the "light" button as someone mention before (thanks), but now my earphone mic does listen to it.
So any clue as how to get the button on the mic to work?
Ideally it would work like this.
Press to answer phone
Press and hold to activate VC
I ride my bike everywhere and that is why this would be IDEAL
THANKS!
Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to map it like that, the headset button only recognizes press(or in my case, press and hold to avoid mis-clicks). I did it by mapping the button formerly titled "Record"(the one right next to the camera) to VC, and now it works like a charm. Maybe you should try that too!
That's odd - I've always had the ability to use the button on the headset to either launch VC, or answer/end a call without having to do anything special at all.
Maybe it's something to do with the headset you are using? I've got a few, and a Parrot car kit, and they all work in this way.
Cheers,
Steve.
Bluetooth & Wired differences!
Lets tidy this up. I believe that we are crossing lines a bit....
The BLUETOOTH headset button often activates VC... thats not primarily the problem. I believe the problem is the wired headset... that one is the one a lot of people use, and i havnt found a way to make that launch the listening feature of VC as yet.

oh, that.
It won't work, I'm afraid. That button only acts as an answer/disconnect button, no special functions, and it can't be mapped to anything...
Thanks for answering...so the question...or solution is.....
Whar are the best bt STERIO earphones the except VC buttom mapping?
Million dollar question...
Try googling around!
I can't recommend STEREO BT headsets, I haven't seen any so far, even though I know they exist. Right now, I'm using a Plantronics headset, which is very comfortable, but the transmission power is a bit low, meaning I get some static even with the phone in my pocket, and the headset in my ear...
Been googling..so far NOTHING!
how about this string: bluetooth headset stereo review ?

Disable all buttons except power and end button

On my previous device, an HP Ipaq 6915 with WM5 I always used the option "Disable all buttons except power button" to prevent my phone did things in my pocket I didn't want.
On my brandnew device, an HP Ipaq 914C with WM6.1 I have this same option BUT it is extended with the words "and end". So the new option is: "Disable all buttons except power and end button".
My problem is, I don't want the "end" button to be able to wake up my device.
Is there anyone who knows how to achieve this?
I am aware of the "keyguard funtion that helps me to guard all kind off keys being pressed. This was also on the WM5 and WM6.1 available. But this still doesn't disable the "end button" to wake up my phone. By the way, the end button is the red phone button.
Options on WM5 and WM6.1 reachable via Start --> Settings --> Buttons --> TAB Lock.
Thanks in advance for any help!
No one knows???
Come on! Is this something no one knows! seems like a tweak that should be done very easilly... but I cannot! Please help me...

SOLVED: MSVC Cable headset button issue..

Hi,
since I switched to MSVC the cable headset button refuses to work for activation of voice command recognition. It did though beforehand when using Cyberon Voice Speed Dial. Switching back to this software does not help either as it stopped working then, too. Anyone any ideas how to solve this issue?
CU,
Cactus World
P.S. Pressing two times the button in a quick row still activates the redial feature as pressing it for a longer period during a call hangs up the call.
SOLVED: Putting a string value registry entry named "Path" with value "\Programme\Voice Command\VoiceCmd.exe" into HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand makes the cable headset button work flawlessly thus initiating MSVC on long press as desired.
Thanks, works like a charm !

How to configure the hansfree button

Hello....is there any way of changing the action when the handsfree button is pressed or even long pressed & doublepressed
yes, same question. Extremely annoying how easy it is to accidently double tap the button and call the last person.
any suggestions anyone ??? maybe a registry edit or anything..... still waiting
The handsfree button has the same function as the call button typically.
double press -> redial (same as call button on phone)
long press ->
a) on some ROMs simply doesn't work. Guess it depends on driver version
b) if workiing, you can set the function in Buttons, gets same function as long press Button 1 (left phone button)
isnt there a cab or file cause its really annoying and would love to set it to next song or previous song
bump any one some one help its really annoying randomly calling someone
Not sure but;
Check in your registry in HKCU\Control Panel for your headset settings
Search for 'audio manager headset tool' on forums.
Try this cab
Havent tested it my self yet

Topaz Keyboard Controller;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555821
What is it ?
It's a solution that allows you to remap ALL keys of your device.
Any key (yeah, i mean ANY, including Home and Back keys) can be reassigned to perform desired actions.
Have fun,
Senax
Thanks for replying ... I already have Topaz Keyboard Controller installed but it does not let you configure the (wired) handsfee button.. or if there is a way then pls help !!!
i am going for another head-set...

Bluetooth button no longer launching Vlingo?

hey all,
I've always used the button on my bluetooth handsfree to launch Vlingo, but it stopped working yesterday.. Now when I hit the button, I hear the beep but nothing happens on the phone. re-pairing didn't do anything either.. it still works fine on my N1. is this a HTC Sense related problem?

Is the vlingo setting in 'in car' checked off? If no then I'd clear the defaults of vlingo and try the settings again.
I would love if bluetooth button activated Vlingo
Any ideas of how I can make the bluetooth button activate vlingo on my HTC Pure? I am runnning the "Fixed Vlingo" from xda. Thanks..hope you find a solution.
