mp3 rng tones - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

how can I have mp3 ring tones on my mda compact.
I can hear them in media player but I can't have them as ring tones.
my os ver is OS 1.12.00 / ExtROM 1.12.920 / Radio 1.12.

you just have to copy the mp3 file to /windows/rings/ and select it in phone options.

thx man i thought that I had first add the ring tone and by the adding the file was never there so thought that it can't play mp3 but this time i went straight to the settings and selected it

one question more
can I move the default /windows/rings/ to another location like location /storage card/ring tones/?

Yes you can via a registry hack.

Heres the easy way! Connect your phone, then browse to the windows folder... All the ringtones are in there!

Can't copy Vox ad2p drivers in WM6 tornado ROM

Hi, I requested VOx ad2p from a vox user, but I can't copy them in windows folder, the error message says that the original files are in ROM, how do I unlock the ROM please?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319326
Do you really need them? Internal drivers work IMHO pretty enough! Of course, after correcting of some registry keys
DO NOT USE THESE DLLS!!!
I have no ability to use A2DP now XR again...
If you need to remove this files, just rename it and reboot. After reboot delete renamed files.

I can not rename these files, they are locked.
This procedure need only if you install files from VOX rom to your WM6 tornado device and they do not work.
You must rename these files directly on your smartphone. Do not use BB (big brother) for this procedure, and all will be fine.

What ROM are you using? "Tornado Windows Mobile 6 ALPHA"?
Can you provide the registry settings? (export them with Resco Registry ,please)

Playback of "wmv/wma" in tcpmp on wm6 solved....

TCPMP playback issues on WM6 using WMA/WMV format files can be solved as follow:
After I installed WM6 on my universal, I noticed that when you try and play a wma/wmv file with tcpmp it gives you an error that some codec's missing..
Because it worked flawlessly on WM5, I started digging a bit and found that WM5's codec files "names" has changed in WM6, thus making it unable for tcpmp to find the wm* codec files.
All you need to do is: (DO NOT OVERWRITE ANY FILES ON YOUR WM6 DEVICE)
Step1: Find the following 2 files in your "\windows\" (WM6 devices) directory: "wma9prodecoder.dll" & "wmv9decoder.dll" and copy them onto your local pc.
Step2: Rename the copied files as follows: From "wmv9decoder.dll" to "wmvdecoder.dll" & From "wma9prodecoder.dll" to "wmadecoder.dll" .
Step3: Copy the renamed files onto your device in the "\windows\" folder.
Enjoy.....
Could you upload that two files?
I found that it dose not allowed me to copy that to any other folder.

Just had this same issue with my Tilt, and this fixed it - thanks! (good old search on XDA-developers!)
Found that trying to rename or copy the files wasn't allowed, using Resco Explorer, so I got the 2 files above that galt points to, and copied them into Windows.
Now I can stream www.thestreamcenter.com/pda again! (It used to work using WMP before I installed TCPMP, but once TCPMP was installed, it became the default and always starts up when I click on a site in IE. I don't know how, or if, you can stop TCPMP from jumping in - if I could just let WMP handle these particular streams that would have been fine, but I don't see an option in TCPMP to give up trying to handle them.)
i am currently using these codecs, and the WMA works flawlessley, however, the WMV has rather choppy playback, is there a way around this?
thanks in advance
Thank you for this!
these worked great thx!!!
and to get them to play less choppy choose video quality and use low or lowest - low usually works better - it aint great quality but its smooth at least!!
thx for the help!!!!

Got it.
The name of the audio file is hwandsw.wav this is a wav file. So what you need to do is go into the windows folder and delete the file. Now take whatever .wav file you want (realize you need a really really short one) like a half a second. Rename it hwandsw.wav place it in the windows folder, soft reset and voila. It worked for me and should you also.
I would recommend making a copy of the original, so you can restore it later if you want.
Man I am having to much fun with this, now every time I touch screen or any buttons my phone farts.
Somehow this doesnt work to me, i exchanged the file with another sound and iam still getting the old clicky taping sound (after soft reset ofc).
When i checked the original wave file it doesnt sound like the taping sound, is it really the correct file?
Doesn't work for me either... doesn't change sound
Hello everybody !

It's probaly in use, did you disable the sounds before trying? If so use a 3rd part file explorer that ignores permissions.

I tried to delete or rename the file (usine TC) but unsuccessful. Then I tried to copy a wav file renamed as hwandsw.wav into \windows - successfull. Soft reset. But the sound did not change... Still the original sound. Then I deleted the (copied) hwandsw.wav in \windows - the original hwandsw.wav file in ROM appeared.
Any advise.. ?

This is how it went....(event sequence)
1) Disabled screen tap sound -> no sound on screen tap
2) Installed .cab file, successful, soft reset.
3) Enabled screen tap sound - > gives default sound (not the new sound intended)
4) Checked file properties using TC - file did not reside in ROM. Copied file to another folder and play using media player - > gives sound intended.
5) Delete file in \windows -> the default hwandsw.wav appeared (properties showed reside in ROM)
Possibilities:
1) The file did not overwrite the default in ROM
2) The wrong file was targeted (for the screen tap).
Good learning event though.

It was probably the wrong file name, I was just using the name posted here in this thread. If you find the correct name I'll try again.

I tried putting a new sound file as Menupop.wav into \windows (as suggested in a ppcgeeks forum) .. still no change.

AudioPara3.csv...Attibutes Change "IN ROM"?

Hi,
Mny of these ROMs are awesome, however, one common issue I have is that the phone sound is a littele low. To fix this, on some ROMs like RRE, I can replace the flashed AudioPara3.csv version with a "hacked" version of the AudioPara3.csv.
Apparently though for the At0M ROM, Energy ROM, I cannot change the file attributed that allow this AudioPara3.csv file to be replaced, using TC file manager, I can edit the arhs values, but NOT the IN ROM setting.
So, am I doing somehting wrong with this AudioPara3.csv file or is it possible the ROM cooks to make the AudioPara3.csv NOT in ROM so I can edit the attributes that will allow it's replacement.
Thanks,
Mike
i've used both of these roms and im still using the latter, i've had absolutely no problems copying a newer hacked file and overwriting the one inside the rom.
try my cab and see if it works for you, it includes the audioPara3 that i find comfortable using, i believe it's the original stock one.
I still think the sound in my ROM is not loud enough, anybody got a csv file that's REAAAALLLY loud ? I want it to blow my ear off....

here you go, my collection(I did not create the files )
3 folders named by volume level.
I always use the loudest+distortion and turn down the volume.
notice it's a RAR, just remove the ".cab" ending
help
ok so i got the htc touch pro and the preset callvolume is way too low unless i turn on speakephone....I have downloaded the audiopara3 file and unzipped it...how do i get it to my phone? do I just drag it to my mobile device
copy it into the Windows folder on your phone and it will overwrite the existing one. You can always copy the existing one into another folder in case you wanna go back
You can catch mine i think it's the best one

You don't take .cab off the end so it will be volume.rar unzip it now you have the files you need and follow directions above to overwrite.
