Is there something like this, pda phone with windows mobile and autofocus? I really like and use this feature a lot with my SE phone, btw. P990i is not an option because of size and symbian.
There is Pocket Loox T830 but this is problem for me:
Screensize: 240 x 240 pixel
Weight: Approx. 190g
Dimensions (H x W x D): 126 x 64 x 21
and it's overpriced.
Asus P525.....

Right now I got a phone with a physical keyboard (iPAQ Data Messenger to be exact). And I love the keyboard. Now I'm thinking about getting a new phone, but there's almost nothing good out there with a physical keyboard. So I'm thinking about dropping that requirement and going for a virtual (software) keyboard.
Yet, how are you guys experience with virtual keyboards? I've gotten so used to my physical keyboard, have always had physical ones. How is typing on a virtual keyboard? Do note that I like to write mails, long texts and such.
Dont drop the keyboard. If you like to write long things, definitely do not drop it.
Sticking to a virtual keyboard effectivly gives me 3 choices.

I don't like the design of the N900. But I'm interested about Maemo 5. Yet I don't really trust Nokia anymore.
The Vivaz Pro is definitly the best looking one, yet it's screensize and resolution ain't nothing to write home about. The 720p HD Video recording is an amazing feature. It runs Symbian, but SE give it their own little touch.
The OmniaPRO runs Windows Mobile. Although it's fully reskinned with Samsung's TouchWiz, it's still Windows Mobile.
Is the TP2 disqualified for some reason?

It lacks a 3.5mm jack (which even my iPAQ does now and I hate).
Underneath it all, it's still Windows Mobile. Which I'm slowly trying to move away from until WP7. It's camera is HORRIBLE.
Rounding it all up it's just my iPAQ with a bigger resolution and TouchFLO3D.
The only plus on it is the keyboard. The keyboard is so perfect and allows me to type very fast.

Understood, just wanted to make sure you had at least considered it, since the keyboard is unequalled (IMO). I certainly understand if it doesn't meet your requirements otherwise.
I just checked this vid:
I tried to race the guy and beat him by just 1 second. Now I'm really considering going with a virtual keyboard.
Virtual keyboards are great as long as the screen is big enough (at least 3.5") and the device has a multi-touch keyboard (I dont think the standard HTC keyboard for android is). I can type just as fast on a virtual keyboard than I could on my touch pro.

+1 virtual is the current & has been the growing wave!
Well, I've made up my mind. Going with a HTC Desire. Unless new info of the HTC Vision comes out within these 2 weeks.
I checked out that thread with the HTC's suspected roadmap for the first half of this year. I wonder how long it's going to take for a 1+GHz phone with a tilting screen, TP2 or better keyboard, and a frickin' headphone jack to come out.
I think I'm gonna order the HTC Desire. Cause the deal is just so good!
HTC Desire seperatly: €450
With a 2-year plan:
First year: €18 * 12 = €216
Second year: €34 * 12 = €408
Total: €624
Subtracting costs of phone: €624 - €450 = €174
Calculating monthly usage cost: €174 / 24 = €7,25
So in fact I'm getting 200 minutes/400 messages + unlimited data for just €7,25 a month!
Since everyone spends so much time asking if this or that case/cover/accessory will work for the TouchPad, I got some dimensions for the major players so you can compare.
HP TouchPad - 240 x 189 x 14 mm
Apple iPad - 243 x 190 x 13 mm
Apple iPad 2 - 241.2 x 185.7 x 8.8 mm
Acer Iconia A500 - 260 x 177 x 13.3 mm
Advent Vega - 275 x 178 x 13.6 mm
Asus Transformer - 271 x 176 x 12.9 mm
Motorola Xoom - 249.1 x 167.8 x 12.9 mm
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - 256.6 x 172.9 x 8.6 mm
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v - 246.2 x 170.4 x 10.9 mm
T-Mobile / LG -Slate - 243 x 149.4 x 12.8 mm
Viewsonic Viewpad 10 - 275 x 173 x 15 mm
As you can see, the original iPad comes closest to TP numbers, but only the Vega is close in thickness (though not other dimensions).
So, if whatever it is you are looking at has to CONTAIN the TouchPad completely, there is NO GOOD MATCH, unless it is an iPad case with enough slop room to hold another full millimeter of thickness.
Squeezing your tablet into something that is too small is eventually going to be painful, ask any woman trying on shoes!
Obviously, if you think of one that should be here - chime in.
Viewsonic Viewpad 10 (the Intel dual-boot version) 275 x 173 x 15 mm.
Don't forget variations on the curvature of the corners can also have an affect on whether cases can be swapped around.
interesting.. but what about the different weights?
This thread should get a sticky

What does the weight have to do with getting a case that fits your touchpad?
Actually,The ipad2 case can not work on Touchpad. I tested.
Nobody is saying it does xjarl, he's posted the sizes so that everyone can see that most of these other pads are too different in size for their cases to be any use.
Also I think hoping someone will find another pad that is close enough to be a possible fit.
HP Touchpad Specs from hp.com slightly different but may make a difference..
9.45" x 7.48" x 0.54"
240 x 190 x 13.7mm

Here are the specs directly from HP: 7.48 x 0.54 x 9.45 in (19 x 1.4 x 24 cm)
Here's the page:http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/pscmisc/vac/us/en/sm/notebooks/WF06a/TouchPad_specifications.html
No difference from my original post.
I guess it depends on who does the conversion and whether they rounded and in which direction they converted.
I tend to believe the metric numbers were the original spec that the engineers who designed it used, then it was converted to US.
Trying to do it in reverse can yield slightly different numbers.

Thanks. This answers my question (sorta) in the tp case thread. The search continues!

is it necessary/preferable for phones with bigger screen size to have good amount of RAM??
my friend owns a neo v, and gta3 lags on his phone...where as it doesn't lag on my Live with walkman..how is this possible?..i mean neo v is a costlier model...
May be that it is the neo V laging, because the display is ~2x bigger than the live walkman.
Neo V: 480 x 854 pixels, 3.7 inches
Live: 320 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches

Sorry, for my bad English.
Hi,
This is another compare between Nokia Lumia 900 vs. Apple iPhone 4S. Both sets are very popular in this planet. Lets compare theme.
According to body Dimensions Nokia Lumia 900 is little bit bigger than iPhone 4S.
Nokia Lumia 900: 127.8 x 68.5 x 11.5 mm and iPhone 4S: 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm.
Weight: Nokia Lumia 900: 160 g and iPhone 4S: 140 g.
Display: Both sets have Protection by Corning Gorilla Glass. But on iPhone 4s has better display quality because Nokia Lumia 900: 480 x 800 pixels, 4.3 inches (~217 ppi pixel density) and iPhone 4S: 640 x 960 pixels, 3.5 inches (~330 ppi pixel density).
Internal: Both sets have 512 MB ram. Honestly I am really upset on those ram.
Camera: Both sets have 8 MP, 3264x2448 pixels, autofocus, but Nokia Lumia 900 have Carl Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash.
But on video recording iPhone 4S is better than Nokia Lumia 900. Because Nokia Lumia 900 comes with [email protected], video stabilization recording system and iPhone 4S comes with [email protected], LED video light, video stabilization, geo-tagging.
OS: Nokia Lumia 900 running by Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and Apple iPhone 4S running by iOS 5, upgradable to iOS 5.1.
Whatever both sets are equally better on market so please select your choice to purchase any expensive set.
I hope it will help you.
Please reply.
