Dimensions of 10-inch tablets for comparison - TouchPad Accessories

Since everyone spends so much time asking if this or that case/cover/accessory will work for the TouchPad, I got some dimensions for the major players so you can compare.
HP TouchPad - 240 x 189 x 14 mm
Apple iPad - 243 x 190 x 13 mm
Apple iPad 2 - 241.2 x 185.7 x 8.8 mm
Acer Iconia A500 - 260 x 177 x 13.3 mm
Advent Vega - 275 x 178 x 13.6 mm
Asus Transformer - 271 x 176 x 12.9 mm
Motorola Xoom - 249.1 x 167.8 x 12.9 mm
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - 256.6 x 172.9 x 8.6 mm
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v - 246.2 x 170.4 x 10.9 mm
T-Mobile / LG -Slate - 243 x 149.4 x 12.8 mm
Viewsonic Viewpad 10 - 275 x 173 x 15 mm
As you can see, the original iPad comes closest to TP numbers, but only the Vega is close in thickness (though not other dimensions).
So, if whatever it is you are looking at has to CONTAIN the TouchPad completely, there is NO GOOD MATCH, unless it is an iPad case with enough slop room to hold another full millimeter of thickness.
Squeezing your tablet into something that is too small is eventually going to be painful, ask any woman trying on shoes!

Obviously, if you think of one that should be here - chime in.

Viewsonic Viewpad 10 (the Intel dual-boot version) 275 x 173 x 15 mm.
Don't forget variations on the curvature of the corners can also have an affect on whether cases can be swapped around.

interesting.. but what about the different weights?

This thread should get a sticky

What does the weight have to do with getting a case that fits your touchpad?

Actually,The ipad2 case can not work on Touchpad. I tested.

Nobody is saying it does xjarl, he's posted the sizes so that everyone can see that most of these other pads are too different in size for their cases to be any use.
Also I think hoping someone will find another pad that is close enough to be a possible fit.

HP Touchpad Specs from hp.com slightly different but may make a difference..
9.45" x 7.48" x 0.54"
240 x 190 x 13.7mm

Here are the specs directly from HP: 7.48 x 0.54 x 9.45 in (19 x 1.4 x 24 cm)
Here's the page:http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/pscmisc/vac/us/en/sm/notebooks/WF06a/TouchPad_specifications.html
No difference from my original post.
I guess it depends on who does the conversion and whether they rounded and in which direction they converted.
I tend to believe the metric numbers were the original spec that the engineers who designed it used, then it was converted to US.
Trying to do it in reverse can yield slightly different numbers.

Here are a couple more:

* Toshiba Thrive 10.1 - 273 x 177 x 16

Thanks. This answers my question (sorta) in the tp case thread. The search continues!

PDA-Phone with autofocus?

Is there something like this, pda phone with windows mobile and autofocus? I really like and use this feature a lot with my SE phone, btw. P990i is not an option because of size and symbian.
There is Pocket Loox T830 but this is problem for me:
Screensize: 240 x 240 pixel
Weight: Approx. 190g
Dimensions (H x W x D): 126 x 64 x 21
and it's overpriced.
Asus P525.....

HTC One X vs. Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III.

Hi,
I just want to share some information about HTC One X and Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III. I agree that both sets are great.
Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III is little bit bigger on "Body Dimensions and weight".
Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III is 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm and it's 133 g other side HTC One X is 134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm and it's just 130 g. Both sets have Touch-sensitive controls. Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III is slightly bigger screen which is 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.8 inches (~306 ppi pixel density). and HTC One X have 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.7 inches (~312 ppi pixel density). Both sets have Corning Gorilla Glass but Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III come with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Both sets have 1GB internal ram which make them faster.
Camera: Both sets are 8 MP, 3264x2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash and [email protected] video recording.
OS: Both sets running by Android OS, v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
So, It's seems to me that both sets are equally great but Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III is little bit better than HTC One X but not huge deference.
Hope it's help you.
Please reply....

The power button on Nexus S 4G is positioned slightly higher than all other models so some cases will keep the power button depressed.

[Q] Is Moto G compatible with Moto X accessories?

I can't find definitive answer anywhere, is the dimension, connector and body shape identical to Moto X enough to allow us to use Moto X car holder with charger, for instance?
Thanks!
Moto G: BODY Dimensions 129.9 x 65.9 x 11.6 mm (5.11 x 2.59 x 0.46 in)
Weight 143 g (5.04 oz)
Moto X: BODY Dimensions 129.3 x 65.3 x 10.4 mm (5.09 x 2.57 x 0.41 in)
Weight 130 g (4.59 oz)
They're quite similar but not exactly.G is a bit longer, thicker & wider than X (though you'd probably get away with all but the width)

Since I bought the Moto G as a replacement for my broken HOX I immediately got a bumper... there weren't any moto g bumpers so I got a moto x bumper. It's a tight fit but it works ok. =)

Question 46mm Classic Size Compared to Zen Watch 3

I currently have an old ASUS Zen Watch 3 and am thinking about getting the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm. Is there anyone on here who has seen both watches in person and can comment on how they compare in size. The Galaxy 4 specs show it to be about the same size as the old Asus watch but the G4 looks massive in some photos I've seen. I don't think my wrist could take a larger watch.
I have not seen both watches in person. I believe the Classic 46mm is very similar in size to the Zen Watch 3.
Specs for the watches:
Zen Watch 3 - 45 x 45 x 10.8 mm (1.77 x 1.77 x 0.43 in), 48 g (1.69 oz)
Galaxy Watch4 Classic 46mm - 45.5 x 45.5 x 11 mm (1.79 x 1.79 x 0.43 in), 52 g (1.83 oz)
If this is concerning for you you always go with the Classic 42mm:
41.5 x 41.5 x 11.2 mm (1.63 x 1.63 x 0.44 in), 46.5 g (1.62 oz)
To me it seems that Watch4 Classic 46mm is only half a mm larger than the Zen Watch 3 and the benefits outweigh the small difference in size compared to the Watch4 Classic 42mm. While the 42mm Classic is a great watch it has a smaller screen and the battery is 31.6% smaller than the 46mm Classic. 247 mAh vs. 361 mAh. Battery on Zen Watch 3 is 341 mAh.
