Hi all,
Is it possible to share my prophet's GPRS connection to my pc? If yes, how do I go about it? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to XDA-Dev
It depends on what you mean by sharing - ICS-like existing Internet sharing that shares a connection in away that it remains usable on the PDA? With AKU3, it's easy (I'll publish an article on all this in the near future). With pre-AKU3, please read http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=453&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1.
Simple dial-up (NO sharing) is very easy in pre-AKU3; please see http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=510&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

HI There
(first XDA, with last upgrade from o2 site)
I am in UK, on O2 and have several pop3 accounts configured
I am wanting to keep GPRS connected whilst i check each account
but after checking one account it disconnects, and I have to redial as I move through each individual account
Where is the setting to Keep my XDA GPRS connected as I cycle through each pop3 account?.
Also anyone know of a better pop3 email software which handles better than the one it comes with?
Thanks
Re: How do I keep GPRS connected
Helou, in registry change or add the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings]
"SuspendResume"="~GPRS!"

Georg,
How do you get into the registry to do this? Do you have to do a hard reset in conjunction with this?

No hard reset - only on/off radio
Georg,
This is un-chartered waters for me. I could easily wreck the ship.
I downloaded the file and unzipped it. Now what do I do?
If you feel that only someone with good technical ability should try this approach please tell me. Otherwise I could try the hard reset approach suggested by others in another thread. I understand that one, but this approach I do not. I'm an Engineer, but I fix buildings and structures not PPCs.
What I do like about your fix is that it sounds as if I will not have to reload all my applications after I complete the tasks, and this is attractive to me.
What do I do with your download? How do I set radio on/off? Could you provide me detailed instructions? Sorry if this is a bother, and if I'm being unreasonable just let me know.

Czech language.
Thanks - but what does this do?
HI There
Thanks for your reply/help!
But how does this "fix" work (ie, what will it do once I have installed it)
is it a design fault on the XDA the fact that GPRS won't disconnect?
Thanks

Is it quality setting, it is not error.
XDA1 always be GPRS up
XDA2 is only sometimes GPRS up (according to operator)
Here be more accurate setting.
( Englishment by the help of PC Translator )
More accurately setting succeed
When
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings] "SuspendResume"="~GPRS!"
Then
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone]
"Flags2"=dword:00000000 = no button disconect in buble con.
"Flags2"=dword:00000008 = button disconect on buble con.
"Flags2"=dword:00000010 = button disconect and time con. on buble conection (hex)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction]
"NoGPRSAutoAttach"=dword:00000001 = search GPRS on con.
"NoGPRSAutoAttach"=dword:00000000 = search GPRS on radio on

Georg,
I have everything you list except my ExtROM is 1.60.06.
I know that Georg has a language barrier with these postings.
Is there any one else out there that can explain this fix to me in full English? I do not know what Georg's dowload is for or how to get into the radio to do what he is suggesting.

I want to connect my ppc to ppc for internet sharing
i have done extensive searching on this forum and the general consensus is that its not possible with the aku 3.3 + bluetooth devices..
so my question is am i just missing something ? or has no one figured it out yet ?
is there any other way to access bluetooth pan via ppc to ppc so i can share my internet ?
pan is a profiles
the easy way will be if the profile bluetooth modem or something like it

Yes, it's not possible UNLESS the client uses the Widcomm BT stack.
You can hack this stack on several HTC models. Follow my articles for links - I've collected them in an older articles.

I like the radio receiver of Windows mobile, but is there another radio receiver software? If anyone is an expert, please tell me what API I can use for programming to get the radio signal(FM, AM ... not Bluetooth, Wifi, GPRS, GSM, CDMA) for processing? Thank you very much

Thank you for your link . They are very interesting but really they are not the ones I am looking for. Do you know other info or websites about Radio(AM, FM) software receiver for mobile phone or any API to program about that in windows mobile?

OIC - so, you want a software using the built-in FM receiver? I think they're all model-specific - I don't think these radio modules have a standardized interface. You could, however, repost your q to the Dev forum here.
Just a little busy at this moment. Can you move this thread to Dev Forum for me plz ?
Thank you very much.
Hi all,
I was trying the Pocket Putty client today, but I was not able to make it work on my S710.
Seems this has been developed only for Smartphones with touch screen? At least I could not find a way to jump to the input boxes to type connection information in.
Is there a secret trick or is this just not working on a S710`?
Does anybody know an alternative SSH client?
Many thanks again
Andi

Hi,
I use ZaTelnet from http://www.zatelnet.com/zap/main.php
Which works well on my S710.
Mike
is there no free software?
Code:
http://www.smartphone.net/smartphonethoughts/software_detail.asp?id=2529
is it enough for you? Do you see that "it is for free"????

Thats "free" trial with session time limitation.
This is telnet only :-(
Hi,
I was just giving the recommended tool a quick check.
However, I figured out it only supports the telnet protocol but not the SSH which I would need.
So, does anybody know a free tool that also supports SSH?
Pocket Putty would do, but it seems unusable on a WM6 smartphone.
Thanks again for all your help.

Zatelnet support:
Telnet
SSH1
SSH2
SSH2 Interactive
SSH2 Key file
Serial port
Cant find the settings..
Hi,
thank you again.
But are you really really sure the zatelnet light does the trick, not the professional version only?
I may be stupid, but I cannot find the setting where to switch from normal telnet to the SSH connections.
Thanks again for your help.

ZATelnet "light", or: the free version, only supports Telnet. That is correct.
If you want SSH you should use the Professional version.
This one supports Telnet, SSH1 and SSH2 and both password as key login.
One tip: if you use it, you might want to disable your T9 function because else you have to press enter after every key you press
Found MidPSSH
Hi,
just found a java program called MidPSSH.
This is free and seems to do what I expect.
Will continue testing it...
Cheers
