I like the radio receiver of Windows mobile, but is there another radio receiver software? If anyone is an expert, please tell me what API I can use for programming to get the radio signal(FM, AM ... not Bluetooth, Wifi, GPRS, GSM, CDMA) for processing? Thank you very much

Thank you for your link . They are very interesting but really they are not the ones I am looking for. Do you know other info or websites about Radio(AM, FM) software receiver for mobile phone or any API to program about that in windows mobile?

OIC - so, you want a software using the built-in FM receiver? I think they're all model-specific - I don't think these radio modules have a standardized interface. You could, however, repost your q to the Dev forum here.
Just a little busy at this moment. Can you move this thread to Dev Forum for me plz ?
Thank you very much.

Yes, it's not possible UNLESS the client uses the Widcomm BT stack.
You can hack this stack on several HTC models. Follow my articles for links - I've collected them in an older articles.

Hi Everyone
I'm looking for a program that could tell me the Cell ID information for the tower that I'm connecting to.
Does anyone know of such an app?
Hi Pieter.
There are several windows mobile apps that can determine the cell ID info, but none of them seems to work on our Universal...
Phonealarm
Phonealarm is a phone suite program that gives the numeric number of the cell tower and lets you create a name for the tower.

Thanks ... will search for it.
Try this....
There's a program called CellProfiler. I've previously used it and it's really comprehensive when it reports nearby Cell Towers.
Give it a try, and see.

Thanks looking for it right now.
Pieter,
If you find anything that actually works on our Universal, please let us know!!
Well, CellProfiler should theoretically work. Too bad the forum seems to be hacked, and it's not free
None of them so far works properley on the Universal but I'm still looking.
I guess you need a special rilgsm.dll - as with the HTC Fieldtest-tool. Search the forum ...

HTC FieldTest?
What can you tell us about it? That is BOUND to work on Uni, or to be easily adaptable!
See the attached file. Launch it on your device and you'll see that most of the information is missing. I'm not sure whether there is a patched rilgsm.dll for Uni available somewhere....

Will start playing with it now to see what we can do with it.
I don't know if you noticed, but BeastyLeo's amalgam ROM uses the Radio service of the HTC Himalayan. And I can't find the rilgsm.dll you've been talking about, is it in the Windows directory, or somewhere deeper?

In the Windows directory but you must use Total Commander to see it.
Oh, okay. I was using the ActiveSync explorer. I'll try to mod something into it soon...

just treat the android phone as a BT GPS receiver.
S60 and WM6 could do so...
Yes I would be very much interested in this also. Would be good for running a mapping program on a laptop. GPS over wireless would be good too.
After some hunting I havent been able to find much other than a few guys hacking out software that utilises the SPP (Serial Port Profile) bluetooth profile. You'd need to expose the GPS hardware (Com9/dev/tty??) using SPP, Problem is, from what i have read, SPP is not supported in the SDK. Correct me if i am wrong.
Hello, I'm new here, and ashamed to say that while I like PDAs and know how to operate my Touch 2, I'm a complete newbie about their most advanced features.
I was looking for a more sophisticated FM radio tuner, as I'm not really satisfied with the one bundled with my ROM. I found Power Radio here on the site, but couldn't really understand if my model is supported or not: I found many pages regarding a possible installation on HTC Mega (but I seem to have issues with GFMAPI), one suggestion to rename the FMSDKWrapper.dll file (which I couldn't find on my PDA), and many other technical pages which I couldn't understand. However, after many wanderings I think that the correct answer is that Power Radio is not for me.
So, up to my question. Do you know any other sound FM radio tuner to substitute the crappy one on my Touch 2? Note, I'm not looking for an internet radio tuner, I don't want to connect to the Net.
Thank you.
