Tytn Tmobile problems

Guys i have the tytn on tmobile and i am having a problem with downloading web pages. I am on 3g umts but it stalls at locating page when i first type in an address. It does this at every new address i type into pie, when it finds the page its lightening quick, i have checked my settings and they seem fine.
When i say stalls i mean for upwards of 60 seconds, my rom is :-
Rom Version 1.18.255.3
Rom Date 05/30/06
Radio Version 1.03.03.10
Protocol Version 32.34.7010.01H
Ext Rom Version 1.18.255.105
Anyone any ideas

i have this issue and it really is starting to bug me, it is like a long waiting game, i am currently logging a fault with tmobile. They said some sites went down in London. They are still in the process of upgrades over the next month so it should sort it out. If not call back to investigate.

Mmmm that seems strange i am in Newcastle and i have just tried an o2 sim albeit with gprs only and that seems to have the same lag. Not sure if this is carrier problem or firmware

are you on GSM/GPRS for both networks.....?

I was on UMTS for the tmobile sim and gprs for the 02 sim

Just tried it again with the o2 sim and it is fine hangs on locating for no more than 5 seconds that i assume is fine, this must be a tmobile problem

might be worth waiting for t-mob to officially launch the device - then you can try their rom... there might be some settings that have been modified for use

I think it is a tmobil problm. I am in central londoon and it is terrible. I am going to reset the phone without vodaphone extras and see how it is. My 02 sim works fine 3-5 secs to locate a website at same location. Will update you lot on findings.

I have the same problem on my TyTN, bought it unlocked at expansys spain. I am using Amena (spanish operator), so I guess it should be a rom problem and not a provider problem. My device details:
Model No.: HERM200
ROM Version: 1.18.255.3
ROM Date: 05/30/06
Radio version: 1.03.03.10
Protocol version: 32.34.7010.01H
ExtROM version: 1.18.255.105
Also, this "locating page" issue happens with wifi connection, not only on UMTS, so it is definitely not a provider problem but a rom/software problem.

This is more widespread than i thought, havent tried wifi yet but if that is the case then its a rom problem

I am at work at the minute with no umts i will do this as soon as i get home tonight

FYI I made the test (even if I'm not in the UK, and not using T-mobile).
SFR / UMTS in Paris (La Defense):
179 kb/sec not really good ....

I just run the test and i am getting 1.1 mb/s, i did sign up for web n walk pro but that isnt supposed to start till 23rd August, strange
just repeated the test and it say 851 kb/s

this question has been asked and answered over a hundred times in different threads in this forum.it all depends on which carrier u r on and how & where u use ur phone.To be more precise,every carriers network is strong in some areas and gets weaker in some.every network has a less or rather blank signal areas.There's no definite answer and conclusion as to which Radio Rom is the best.To some Faria 02.19.11 suites,while others favour T-mobile02.69.11 Radio rom,still some prefer cingular 2.25.11.On the average Radio Rom 02.19.11 is considered to be stable n less of signal drops,well,as i said every one has his preferences
GPRS/EDGE is directly related to ur signal strenght.better the signal strenght better the gprs/edge connectivity.There r somereg tweeks for gprs/edge.but i don't think,they make much of a difference,the difference id hardly noticrable.For tweeks plz search the forum or the web.
Secondly,u just cud have read read all the threads,answer to ur question is posted more than 100 times,instead of starting a new thread on this topic,anyway check out this thread for further info

As some users, including me, have serious 3G problems, it would be great if someone who has a newer radio rom then 1.27.12.17, could dump the rom and share it with us ? I noticed that the phones from NL and/or DE have maybe newer radio roms then htc.

mmm I think you need a NBH file to extract the radio NB apart and flash with CustomRUU. I Beleave you can't extract the radio from the device (but i'm not sure...).

Thanks about the offer but we have the 1.27.12.11 and 1.27.12.17. I would like to see if anyone has a newer like 1.29.xxx or 1.27.12.xx (> 17).
Does your 3G connections work fine ?

I am also using Radio version 1.27.12.11 on the AT&T Network in the US and I have no issues with my data connections. My phone switches between 3G and HSDPA while browsing/downloading, and my mobile speedtest is rated at 1.2mbps.

you can not dump a radio from a device sorry to say you have to have the .NBH containing it

I was having serious 3G issues in Northern Viginia. Every time my phone tried to get onto 3G, it would crash the radio. I'd lose voice and data. Edge and GPRS worked fine. Grabbed the 1.27.12.17 from ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Kaiser/Radio/KAIS_Radio_Only_1.27.12.17_CustomRUU.rar and things work great now. ~1.1mbps.

Thanks for the radio link! Appears to be working fine with AT&T in NJ, USA on my Tilt with the Helmi Kaiser 1.57.000.1 AKU.0.7.0 cooked ROM.

I noticed the "radio" in question has a lower version than i have on my tilt. I am curious if this one is actually newer and if anyone else is using it. If it is newer and others would like it to play with, i would glady dump it. I will need to find out how to dump it as i have never tried to dump one before. My device information page shows the radio version as 1.65.21.18

Once again a topic about the issue...
This time I want to exclude somethings about what said before... I hope we get a clear topic about, what some of us have a problem with, the 3G issue.
My situation:
T-Mobile MDA Vario III;
L26_KaiserDiamond_V9
ROM version: 3.55.502.1 WWE
ROM date: 06/25/08
Radio version: 1.58.25.17
Protocol version: 25.69.30.05H
Living in the Netherlands @ Alphen a/d Rijn (this for the dutch people that they know if there is a good 3G reception)
I travel alot trough the BeNeLux, France and Germany... in the first 2 weeks when I bought the device I had a 100% 3G/HSDPA connection. After a while the ROM get annoying because of lag in the phone calls. (Those where you have to wait a 15 sec. before you can hear them and they hear you...) So I got me a ROM from here and everything went fine... *like always*
Then it happend. After trying a few ROMS to decide what suited me the best (wether WWE or NLD) I noticed that reception to HSDPA (4 reception stripes in my hometown) was very low (about 1 sometimes 2), now as I speak it goes from 1 stripe H to 4 stripes G...
I spoke to T-Mobile Netherlands and they said never had such a problem. I even talked to the technicians of T-Mobile and even they didn't reconized the problem. They took a look at it and couldn't find any problem sofar... tough they don't think it's a hardware problem because it could make a connection to the HSDPA network...
Even with a other provider (KPN) 3G isn't possible but a low HSDPA connection IS possible...
T-Mobile is now investigating if it is a simcard connection failure or something in my contract... (contract couldn't exclude 3G usage)
So is there a possibility that something while flashing a new ROM set off the 3G reception...?!
Suggestions for where the problem maybe could come from:
The HardSPL;
SuperCID/CID;
Application Unlock;
ROM version;
Radio version;
Protocol version;

yep, I already tried that... but with no result...

Hmzzz I got Telfort KPN.
And always have atleast 3/4 bars on 3G & H. I'm using 3G/H for about 2 months now......
Think it's your deviece bro.
