Activesync missing after fast user switching - General Topics

I wonder if anyone else have the same problem as I do with activesync.
the problem comes when I use fast user switching in winxp. several ppl uses the same computer as I go. and activesync is intalled and running in the background. When I switch to another user, and then some time later return to my account. activesync would be deactivated, and cant be restarted even if I select it from start menu. this happens almost every time, and is really annoying.
the only solution I know of is just to simply log off and log in again. then activesync would run again.
Anyone experiencing the same problem as I do? or perhaps has someone figure out a solution for this.
I'm using activesync 4.2 by the way.

Activesync acting up - Guest account only

For some reason this problem keeps coming back..
When I go to Activesync on my 750 it shows a different screen that says "To sync with a desktop computer, install ActiveSync on your computer and then connect this device."
When I plug in via USB or to go Menu/Connect via Bluetooth it starts to connect (open ports, establish connection, etc) but the desktop pops up a warning that says "Synchronization cannot be completed successfully..."
This appears AFTER I have already synced the device once or twice and the profile already exists on my desktop.
This happens regardless of syncing with bluetooth (which used to work) or with USB (which also used to work).
I reinstalled ActiveSync 4.5 on the desktop. The original profile was wiped away, and I was able to sync with the device again.
Now the problem came back..!
Any idea what this is? It seems like a device issue because I can never get to that normal "spinning arrows" screen on the device, only this warning screen.
Your help is appreciated!
- soft reset, no help
- reinstall activesync on desktop, no help
ok got it... deleted the profile on the desktop (disconnect device, on desktop go to File/Delete Mobile Device)... soft reset device... reconnect device to desktop...
how do i delete the profile from the device, i think that is corrupt? keeps doing the same thing.
Can you try to go to settings/connections/USBtoPC & disable advanced network functionality?
"synchronization could not be completed"
sorry, wrong thread, can't seem to remove
Update: Okay so I know how to fix the problem (delete profile from desktop, soft reset device, connect via USB)... but the problem keeps coming back.
It seems like the profile keeps getting "lost" on the Treo because that screen that I mentioned (without the spinning arrows) keeps coming back and it should only appear when there are no profiles on the device.. am I right?
Also seems like I am the only one experiencing this issue, I guess.
not the only one ive been trying for days to fix this issue and now my phone hard reset itself and wiped all my contacts/appointments etc. hmmm....... did you have a happy ending?
ActiveSync is not finding my profile?
"I know that this is an old thread" and I am bumping it anyway.
I am now having the same issue a HTC touch pro.
I cannot seem to find an actual solution to this problem, having to delete my profile every two days is not what I would call "a solution".
I cannot seem to find anyone that can help me on this issue, nor can I find the thread is it seemed to address this with a solution - only more questions.
If anyone could help me out here it would be much appreciated, thank you.
my symptoms:
contacts, appointments, notes and tasks are all missing from my phone.
Upon connecting ActiveSync, computer and phone both believe that synchronisation has occurred perfectly. In hindsight I am wondering if it has got something to do with the phone creating a new, blank profile in synchronising with that?
We in you try to change the settings so that it will synchronise them again, all of those checkboxes are locked so that they cannot be selected, almost like you are in the wrong profile and outlook is preventing you from syncing with a profile.
The only "solution" that I have discovered to this thus far is to delete all of my Outlook profiles, and then begin from scratch again

Faria WM6 connectivity issue

I posted this earlier in another forum, but I think it got buried and lost.
I upgraded to Faria's WM6 successfully. Everything works great except it keeps reconnecting to tmobile data every 7 seconds. This started after I reset my wizard. I reflashed the ROM, everything worked again, but as soon as I reset, the connectivity deal started again.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Issue continued
With some registry edits, I can get it to stay connected, but now I can't get connected to messenger. I can use the internet but it won't connect to messenger.
Strange...

Ok, the registry wasn't any help to the constant reconnecting. I set windows live to sync manually. I just reset it to sync "as items arrive," and it began connecting constantly as before. Even if I change the frequency that windows live wants to sync (even to manual now), it keeps reconnecting every 7 seconds.
Back to square one. It seems to be an issue with windows live. There must be some setting that gets changed when I reset my device. It works if I reflash the WM6 ROM, but I really don't want to do that each time I have to reset or turn off my device.
are you paying for the full internet service? if not, then that is why messanger doesnt work. The free net deal is gone.
Yes, I do have the data package. Each time I reflash it works fine until I reset the device. Pretty frustrating.

Active Sync problem

Hello!
Since I had battery problems and the active sync always active was the main cause (now I can use the Pro for two days, otherwise at dinner time it was dead already), I read a lot about it and people told to kill the notification with taskmanager called replog.exe, or something like that.
It worked well, the problem is that I still want to connect to activesync to install programs and sync with outlook and now I cant. device is not connected at all.
how can i start activesync manually or solve this issue?
please help! this is getting me nuts!

Weird Windows Live Mobile issues

I used this cab (http://rapidshare.com/files/158640294/WLMMob10.6.0034.08.cab) to successfully get Windows Live Mobile working on my AT&T Fuze, but I've noticed a few weird things.
1) After a soft reset, the program doesn't automatically open a data connection.
2) When I manually open a connection, the push won't start automatically. I have to do a send/receive first and afterward the push function works fine.
I think this might have something to do with the fact that when I turn on the phone, the data connection in the communication manager is set to off by default.
Any thoughts?
that used to happen on my tilt.
I never bothered to find a fix
I have the Fuze now and had the Tilt before. I had to manually sync it the first time, every time, after a reboot. Probably a fix but I also never bothered to look for it since I only reboot occasionally.
Any one else?

that's the weird part. it worked perfectly on my tilt and would always open a connection after a reset. i could even manually close the connection and it would reopen it. also, push was immediately activated and didn't require a manual sync ever.
strange.
sorry to hijack your thread, but do you guys have windows live send/recieve set to "as they arrive"? if you do does that kill your battery or is it a true push, which doesnt require constant polling?
it didn't affect the battery on my tilt. too soon to say one way or the other about the fuze. but i do believe it's true push. when working correctly, e-mails tend to arrive seconds after they're sent.

Activesync keeps on restartting

i understand that this question may have been asked many times in this forum but considering that they are rather dated and i have yet to get a solution to my problem i thought i started a thread here. Do bear with me as i'm rather new to using a WM device and to this forum but i thought this would be the best avenue to hear opinions and suggestions.
i'm currently using a Sony Ericsson Xperia X1i, ROM version1.02.931.3
all along when i have been using this phone, never once did Activesync start up on its own unless i connected my phone to my PC.
Recently, i accidentally pressed upon turning on the Microsoft Direct Push option found in my Comm Manager program and ever since then (even after turning it off) Activesync has been constantly been running minutes after me having closed the program.
I have tried many methods that i have come across while checking search results in google and in here (especially in the wiki).
from creating a fake server to having set my schedule updates to manual for both peak an non peak timings, to having disabled AppRunAfterTimeChange from the notifications list of the program “repllog.exe”. i have even deleted all notifications relating to “repllog.exe” (thank goodness to memmaid being able to restore the notifications!) and still the problem occured off Activesync still running by itself after having been closed.
i'm kind off exhausted as to how to resolve this problem of mine, i do know that some pple would voice that Activesync running all the time is normal but having gotten my phone without this issue it would please me most if i can actually have this problem not occuring at all
i do appreciate you having to read my mini wall of text and do hope that someone out there has a solution!
quickmenu is supposed to be able to close it permantly when active sync is closed, but thats not much good if u dont sync. I have had this issue before. Now for some reason my jamin with 6.1 doesnt do it (but never used exchange before) and my polaris does (have used). The only way i was able to stop it was a hard rest, drastic i know.
I'll have a search for you as i have read other methods but cant remember if they were successful or not!
well i didn't have that problem when i first got my x-1 : |
really have no idea wad to do to get it back to its previous state
as much as i've gotten used to activesync popping out forever
but i'd really wish for a solution where i can get it to be 'away' and come on only when i sync
