HELP Please !! XDA11 with Tom-Tom & Memory Map

Hi All
Could someone please HELP,, (hope I am on the right Forum !!)
Have a XDA11 With Tom-Tom,, all works fine, not problems, However would like to run Memory Map as well,,
Have tom tom on the standard sd card, and m-Map on another 1G card,
M-map all loaded and working & can swap between system OK, but can not get a GPS input signal,,, Have tried Menu-GPS-Setup, but only get faults, such as Time out, or can not open port,,
Any one with any ideas, would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Did you check the memory map support forum:
http://www.memory-map.co.uk/board/index.php?showtopic=221
BTW: Thanks for naming this s/w here. Could you post some experience (maybe as compared to OziExplorer which does not function on a Himalaya (XDA2/MDAII) with BT GPS because of the MS Bt Stack)
Your best bet would be to post a question in Pocket GPS World
There are still issues with the TomTom GPS driver locking out other mapping apps- I think PGPS has a thread on this
afaik the TomTom GPS version 3.03 and above dont claim the GPS exclusively.
Pocket GPS World is a very good site with lots of answers (and some unanswered questions, so no guarantee)

wm2005 cf backpack driver for himalaya

i cannot use my cf card with backpack in wm2005, pls help me.......
Backpack
Me either, any ideas?
See my thread on backpack in buzzdev.net in Himalaya WM2005 for details.
There's some people are able to use backpack in WM2005, I'm not part of it. Maybe you could install Tof's newest ROM. After installing it, I'm able to see my backpack battery, and in this only ROM that I can see it, but still no luck in functioning the others. VGA presentation and CF not working. Few people had managed to use VGA presentation, as for CF I believe no solution to this matter. Guess you should write an email to HTC to ask them to help recreate backpack driver for WM2005.

Which WM6 Rom(s) are OOTB?

I'm a very new adopter (just a couple of days ago) of an MDA pro (unlocked) still running WM5, now considering upgrading to WM6.
Sorry to say this, but it's really a bit intimidating and time-wasting to check out all the thousands of replies in each ROM thread.
The wiki page says very little (if any) about the pros and cons of each ROM.
So just to kick out to use WM6, with the following basic requirement:
Skype works
Video calls (including Skype video) works
All wireless connections work
Which ROM out there can do this?
I've tried ranju briefly but quickly found out that Skype doesn't work at all...
And I can't see any link to the official WM6 ROM for Uni. Could someone drop a pointer here? Any annoying issue with this "stock" version?
I'd be very surprised if there is no such option.
Any recommendation and suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Dave
Ok, hope this helps:
There's no official WM6 version for our Uni's. Any WM6 ROM has been made, unofficially, by a ROM cooker.
Video call is incomplete on WM6, some ROMs have it but it doesn't work properly. If Videocall is a must, stick with WM5.
If a particular ROM has trouble with Skype, read through the forum thread for that ROM, most likely a fix has been discovered.
Have fun with your Uni.
Thanks for the reply. This surely clarifies the situation.
I will first try to find out which WM6 ROM gets along with Skype. Will report back if successful.

Please, a few unanswered questions.

I have a Cingular 8125 with WM5 and a few of the recommended apps. (overclocked, Wireless G enabled, etc.) I want to upgrade to WM6 now but have a few questions before I do.
What advantages will WM6 have over my current setup?
Will all of my hardware work as it does now (IR, bluetooth stereo, wireless G, etc)?
Is overclocking prefered with WM6 and the 8125?
With the currently available ROM packages, do they give you the option to install applications to the SD card?
Thanks in advance.
Read the forum, you'll find answers to your common questions, its all in there.
well, simple answer to all of your questions is 'Yes' !

Sorry - Noob question

I have a Niki100 with WM6.1.
All I am looking to do is update it to WM6.5.
I have been searching this forum for hours and am just getting lost and buried in posts but still can seem to find what I am looking for.
I do not use it as a phone ... I really only need the Storage card, Bluetooth, ActiveSync and the OS to function. I run a small app that I have developed that collects data via Bluetooth then dumps it to a PC later.
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
From what I have learned so far I need an RUU and a ROM. Are there such beasts for the Niki100 to get it to WM6.5 ?
Thanks in advance
