It's awesome
Awesome man! That's great.
Downloading, Will give you a feedback shortly.
10Q so much

Please pay attention at ROM version above. It is indicated that this ROM 3.20a.64WWE, which has 32MB RAMdisk & 64MB RAM

The first times I release 64MB Ramdisk version, but after reduce ram for page pool, I think Ramdisk 32MB is better.
This release with RamDisk 32MB, page Pool size 12MB and Ram 81MB. I'll edit Rom version in next release

Thank you very much

I personally think,
Pageing Pool 16MB + Ramdisk 32MB is the best one.
Could you make for Himalaya and added more programs/games?
thank you very much
Best regards,
a big fan

Good! Another Nice version
can u post more features
can i isntall other programs?

You can install all programs without any problems, but it runs slower than ROM 2.03a.xx. STK still not working, & sometimes can't sync to PC.

any other problems?

Thanks for your effort logout. I'll test your ROM as soon as I can.
Though I wonder how you did this. I have a few custom ROMs that I cooked with the ROM kitchen and I want to apply the same trick to them too.

hi aLL
how test the rom
any other problems ?

I am testing it right now. I haven't come across any problems so far. It seems to work quite good. I didn't see a huge speed difference though.
A question to logout: Why didn't you make it 16MB instead of 12MB?

OK Page pool size 12MB only for test.
After test page pool size 16MB, rom work fast and can install all programs
Some features of this Rom:
- AKU3.2
- Page pool size 16MB
- Ram 77MB, Ramdisk 32MB
- Other softs are the same Tofclock's Rom v2.03a.32:
+ Smart Dialing
+ ZoomSMS, Missed call on today screen
+ GB-Soft Tweak
+ Camera + Record Fix
+ SMS alert fix
+ Sim manager
+ BT tray
+ Phone Scenarios
+ Phone recorder
+ Call filter
+ Data backup
+ Task manager
+ WM5 Mass Storage
DOWNLOAD
(Difficult to upload this Rom to FTP, some one download and help me upload it to FTP)

hai logout!
Can we not have 64MB RAMdisk with 12MB pagepool??
Because main storage is compulsarily limited to 30MB anyway. Therefore the only place where the third party S/Ws are to be installed is nothing but the RAMDisk. In my opinion ideal size of RAMDisk should be more than 32MB. May be 48 or 64MB. I can alter the NK.NBA suiting to my requirement. Only thing I want to know as whether 12 MB page and 64MB RAMDisk is a possible combination or not. And how do you rate this combination???
BTW I am using Himalaya.

I think minimum of Ram is 64MB, If you play game 3D or heavy game.
Now with 32MB Ramdisk and page pool size 16MB, Ram remain ~ 60MB.
Maybe RAMDisk 48MB is a possible, but I don't find out Hex & Ramdisk value.

For RAMDisk values inside the NK.NBA of Himalaya you can check here

This ROM is getting more fantastic each time I check out this thread! Thank you logout. I think you're the next TofClock! Try posting this ROM on the Buzdev site and watch the reactions!
I agree with c_shekhar about the RAM size. I think 48MB RamDisk would be ideal. We'd love it if you could make a 16MB pool, 48MB RamDisk version.

hey logout!
If you could share the pool size change procedure/settings then I can try 48MB RAMdisk with the changed pool settings and post here the results...

What page pool is working well for you?

I believe the default page pool for shipped roms is 6MB??? I turned it up to 50MB with page pool changer on my WM6.1 3.02 rom. Seems very speedy. What size are you guys using? Just getting an overall feel, maybe another size is worth trying out.
Yes, I did a search, but the other page pool searches didn't give something opinionated as in what size people are using.
50MB is now standard for me...
Good question -
I know Sleuth has settled on 15MB and Alex & Dutty were using 32 MB for some of thier cooked roms, others are using 64MB.
How have you determined speed difference w/ 50MB - benchmarks or "feel"?
Any comments on battery life?
Is there a way to confirm your pagepool after flashing? GSLEON3 and others are reporting that it's much more complicated than previously thought - check this: Page Pool Change & Verification????
Thanks

It's a combination of all these: Speed (or as I like to call it "Perceived Speed"; Feel; Battery Life; Stability (no lock-ups; Benchmarking (I use SKTools + SPB Benchmark); File cache settings; lastly but not least your individual device ie other apps you run...
It takes time and really you just have to find some good compromise that works for you...
24 and 32MB are common on most cooked ROMs today but I'm aware of some individuals who are VERY VERY satisfied/impressed with the 50MB setting...I'm one of them...

F.A.Q.
Guide to Seeing MAX RAM:
In order to see the below effect, after initial startup be sure to go to Settings - Home Today - remove all Home Today options. Go to Program Files and Click Oxio. You will generally see around 30MB free. Now Reboot the Device. Once it starts when you click on the Start Menu you'll see Oxio as a quick shortcut since you used it last. Click that and you'll see the max Free Ram Upto 38MB. (128/96Dpi Mode)
What is RamDisk? Why do you let me configure it?
Unlike Flashdisk, RamDisk is temporary storage. It's used to store files or temporary files and folders till you reboot. One of the most common uses of it is to store Internet Browsing History/Cookies/Temp files there, so once you reset your phone it clears up. If you don't use RAMDISK and surf the net alot, cleaning your extra useless temp files and cookies can be a nuisance. This helps you out. You can create ramdisks from 2/4MB as high as 32MB on the 64 Uni and possibly more on the 128MB uni depending upon requirement. Remember once you reset your device the files stored in the ramdisk will wipe out. Some users don't need high ram disks and some don't need them at all. Meanwhile some users do a lot of surfing and want to clear their cache/temp/traces without pains of software. This ensures that!
Guide to Get Extra Storage & RamDisk:
1) Use the attached Ext-Rom Unlock Cab to get 10 MB Additional Storage!
2) See the RAMDISK Install.txt inside Ext ROM to get your ram disk active.
Why don't you use version 19900 (or newest cores) like others?
The simplest reason is I found Thing_xx Kitchen to be stable, fast and effective. I know everyone loves seeing the latest thing, but I personally believe what is Best is what is Effective and Efficient (Stable, Fast, Secure). The latest ROM's seem to have tons of bugs and issues (probably because of quick porting and less depth analysis). I find the kitchen I use as a very stable one, and one that offers the best overall. You must also realise that the Universal was given Windows Mobile 5.0 and not 6.x! All Roms that are 6.x for the Universal are ported. As a result you might never find a perfect compatible rom for the Universal. I feel stability on any 6.x rom kitchen is important. My ROM's are aimed to be Stable, Fast & Effective (in that order).
Why is my RAM less at times?
After loading the system (bootup) , if you go to program files or settings or any other location of the device, ram is utilized immediately. Even after you exit the program folder, some of the ram is "cached" in so later attempts go faster. As a result ram may vary time to time. Our initial startup ram mentioned goes through a quick process of multiple steps and a reboot in order to remove the extra cache. Movements made after seeing the initial ram will change the amount of free ram from time to time. It is possible that if you're using the RAMDISK it will convert there.
I need help! Can You Help Me?
If you need help please email me directly at admin @ rdosti.com or add me on msn messenger: [email protected]. Otherwise feel free to use the Xda Forums for help, suggestions, etc. I can not guarantee a response or a solution. I will try to help you out if I can.
"Wow! I love your rom. I wish I could help you!"
You actually can help me in one of the 3 ways as mentioned:
1) PM or email me and become a partner (help me find cabs, test roms and do some fun testing stuff).
2) Send me an email at admin @ rdosti.com , thanking me and telling me how you loved or liked the rom. (Keeps me motivated)
3) If you can donate even a dollar or more, I would appreciate it. I can't ask for funds, but if you feel I deserve it or feel you want to thank me, this would be a great way for me to get another handset (universal or other and make more roms) (probably motivational as well). I don't drink, so I can't ask for a beer - Donations can be sent to admin @ rdosti.com (PayPal).
Instructions to Flash:
Hold "Flashlight Bulb Icon & the Power On Button" (at the same time) and using your pin/stick push the "soft reset" button. Wait till you get a screen that shows your bootloader on the bottom. I advise using the latest bootloader for your G3/G4 device.
The "bulb icon" is on the center-side of your PocketPC next (left of) the volume (up & down/left & right) key OR on the right side of the camera & speech/recorder hardware key.
The "power button" is on the top side of the Pocketpc - right next to the SDCARD/MMC card slot.
The "reset" hole/button is on the side behind the pocketpc (opposite side of the bulb icon key). The "reset" hole is the tiny hole in between the charger port and the headphone jack.
Is Your Rom 100% Safe?
No, my Rom Is NOT 100% Safe. I take no liability of any issues arising due to the flashing or trying to flash of the ROM or any of my work. There are chances things may mess up and cause issues or even "brick" or "kill" your phone.
Your phone should be SIM-Unlocked before flashing. We have used the Universal RUU (CID bypassing) in our zip, however remember all ROM's have a chance of failure or causing problems. I take no responsibility of the way by ROMs are used.

Disclaimer : It's fast,"stable"(Non crashing/freezing), and very "non--eye candy". Use/Flash ROM at your own risk. Disasters might happen. I take no responsibility for the same.

Hi!
Screenshot the ROM?
thank you i will test now but i have a qusetion why i can't find rom like TNT for kjam so nice roms ... all roms for UNI look a same maybe we dont have good cookers or what
kjam - Isnt Universal.
Univeral = Jasjar, O2 Exec, Etc.
Well the best cookers..are busy with other things
Cookers like us have to play a role now Though my main focus will be Vanilla Roms since I prefer letting the user put what he/she wants, rather than adding too many things that some people like, others done.
I have never seen a WM6 or WM6.1 ROM with 31,4Mb of RAM free. Awesome!!!

Support the 128MB ROM?
Mod Edit: Please don't quote the original post just to ask a question, it clutters up the thread - use the "Reply" button instead
Am not too sure really honestly. You'd need to check or try it. I dont have a 128MB Universal to test out sadly. Hopefully it will , but am not totally sure.
After 2 hour's use:
It is really very fast and stable ROM. every thing working for me:
System:
1. Wi-Fi (working ).
2. Bluetooth (working ).
3. Phone ringing without delay.
4. Arabize (working ).
Software:
1. Destinator (Cool).
2. Opera Browser (cool).
3. Resco file explorer (working ).
4. Cash Organizer (working ).
Thanks dear for this nice ROM

thax for ur answer and i have kjam and uni lol i ask about this coz we need nice roms like TNT organized rom looking nice with HTC HOME nice sounds NOT ALOT problems this what i mean .... if i know how i can cook i will cook sooooo nice roms but i dont know really how and really i dont looking b4 how i can cook i just look for kjam but i stoped coz i can't cook like it's right (TNT ) WE NEED GOOD COOKERS
I really love it being so free of "junk".
But the core is pretty old no? (asking)
Well look at the core this way ...
Universal by default never had WM6+.
If you look at in that perspective - WM 6.1 with any core that gives you stability and speed is better than any other core.
This is something that most people skip and forget about, because everyone feels that the latest core for OTHER devices is the best for Universal & IS INCORRECT. The truth is any core for 6.1 ported to universal is equally good - IF and ONLY if you get stability and speed.
I personally believe its better using an old core that brings you both stability and speed vs. that a new core that has complains for freezes, lack of stability and speed.
At the end of the day I found go with Stability and Speed over anything else.

Overview of the many roms created here and a vote for the best rom for the Universal

Guys there are a lot of roms created by the genious minds of rom cooks here. id like everyone to share there view of the roms overview and a vote for the best rom cooked for the Universal. Sounds fun huh!
my list (sorry if I missed anyone)
ROM really depends on your needs . If the cook has put in the apps you use, go for his rom. Otherwise it takes up more space adding your own apps - or alternatively go for rDosti/B&L vanilla and add all your own.
The free memory is important to me (being a 64MB Uni owner!!), and I have recorded the free memory on a clean install with no SD card in.
I want working camera, TCMD TCPMP and Route66N7 to work properly (which likes its memory!). I don't use wkTask, but prefer QuickMenu or currently playing with Battery Status (but after making own theme with weather, this took up too much program memory, and although looked nice I decided that I needed functional and not eye candy!). Fast is also good . I also need my Blade BT headset to work with my BT GRPS mouse.
My observations (in no particular order):
Tomal 7.7 OS 19900 (19900'2), 27.8 MB free (program memory) here
-this is stable and has all apps I like *my favourite* (also has flash-disk)
EFN 2.4 OS 19588 (19900'3), 27.4 MB free here
-seems stable, need to add few apps (eg, TCMD, TCPMP), but has VC - keeping my eye on this! (more of want than need as I don't get 3G at home!)
rDosti 9 OS 19188 (19174), >33.9 MB free here
-seems stable, vanilla so need to add all apps you want (incl. Word, Excel, .NET etc). Built on my old favourite ROM from thingonaspring (below) - but with same problem. Can't get Blade (BT headset) to work
PDAVIET 2.61 OS 19949, 28.6 MB free here
-hangs occasionally, couldn't change alarms
-not a rom cooker on this forum, so feedback is useless from here!
Mo3ulla 1.5 OS 19588, 26.97 MB free here
-seems stable, but was disappointed with free program mem
Thingonaspring 41.28 OS 19188 (19174), 29.8 MB free here
-stable, excellent free memory, settings/buttons had no lock or backlight, some components getting old (TCMD) - has real VGA (if you like that sort of thing!)
-seems to have stopped cooking any more universal rom's - anyone heard from thing?
JWRights here
-no information, except was slow in dealing my cards in Patiences game
Beasty&Laurentius 2.08.01 Business here
-they also have newer test version and older FullFlavour/Vanilla versions, and were my favorite cookers
-beasty still pops back to help, and may produce newer rom, but has gone on to some wierd htc machineAdvice: pick your ROM(s), and help the cookers sort out bugs & features by encouraging them - and they can use this information with others too.
Hope this helps someone
great
thanks jonmorgan for your effort and views. come on guys more overviews will help our good rom cookers to improve their cooking by giving out your reviews of their great and effortfull work..
My vote goes for....
Ranju´s v7.6 & v7.7 definetly!
Cheers!
Ranju's 7.6 here!
Using Tomals 7.7 I must say, eaven after testing some others...
This is the best.
Its stable, fast, i love flashdisk and storage space
for this poll i Vote for Tomal/Ranju 7.7

--- Did you try 9.1 (it has extra support for BT mouse and other BT devices. I would suggest trying that and then letting me know if it doesnt work with your Blade... I believe 9.1 should fix that (the main reason i released it).

great replies guys
man you guys are great keep on helping our friends, the genius rom cookers for their hard work thank you cookers without you all we could never make the universal the way it is today. thanks all guys for their overviews.

That's one of the fastest roms or may be the FASTEST rom ever created for the Uni, and no, the free program memory after reboot is 26-27+ MB with some programs in start up on 64 MB Universal! You guys don't write some stuff before test it

Yes, I can also confirm this rom is THE FASTEST so far for universal, it is very stable and was the only rom that did not give me phone hang-ups, but because it is so vanilla I had a few issues getting some parts of phone to work...so had to switch back to 7.7 rom

Sorry, I did test it. I have now re-flashed and can report it to be 26.97 (I have edited my post).
This is strange - the total is only 46.27, where-as other ROM flashers are getting their totals much higher. I wonder if Mo3ulla got this higher, the free program memory would also go up.
I don't know how to test speed, except if my card game goes slow
Tomal is the best
I also have flashed tomal ranju's 7.7 rom and its really col and stable but what i noticed is it drains my battery very much is this normal or have i done something wrong?
anyways ranju 7.7 is the best for me.
and guys keep up the great work
Well, Ran's 7.7 is the one I like the most now as he provides me the apps I need. No wasting time to install , just up rom and use. I'm looking forward to the official release of version 8.0 from Tomal. Stable, no irritating problems though there're small problems with my EXEC, not sure whether those happen to other universals.
Cheers!
wm5
im going back to the wm5 aku3.5
my prblem is solved in sdhc driver. damn it it was sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll after all.
ryt now im sticking on video call my uni is lame w/o it.
for cooked ROM probably ranju 7.7
but i got all apps for wm6 the contol panel thing so i used rdosti clean ROM v5-v10
ill wait rdosti v15 it could be 64mb free of RAM i think. joke
nice looking:
pamquang diamond rom
cons: freezes, call slow response. sometimes shutdown automatically..
efn video call- it didnt work on mine
rdosti - lots of memory free but apps its up to you spot wer the good version is because my opera 9.5 build 405 not run on v9.1..
hey anybody cud share a files/hacks to run opera 9.5 on wm5.

That's the main point! Most people didn't try all ROMs and therefore their oppinion isn't accurate...
I've tried all, except rDosti v10 and my favorite are rDosti v9.1 (I don't use because we can't install VCall out cab) (probably the fastest) and PDAVIET 2.61 OS 19949 (the 2nd fastest ROM)!
PS: I don't have problems to set the alarm on PDAVIET's ROM!
Ranju 7.7 .......
Tried Darkforce, mu3ulla and rDosti.
rDosti is my favourite, because
- his ongoing support
- quick problem solving with new ROM
- a lot of free program memory
Only things I miss at the moment:
- Flash disk (where is it? What is it?)
- good BT support (Please leave BT enabled when connection to my GPS!)
But, hey, he's posting a new ROM every day, so maybe next week?

- Office OneNote
- Customer Satisfaction (SQM)
- FirmWareUpdate
- Catalog
- Entertainment (games)
- Transcriber
- Getting started
- Backdrop and bootsplash images
- and lots more annoying MS nonsense ;-)
Included :-
- TCPMP 0.81 fully integrated to replace Windows Media. Suports WMA/WMV/FLV/FLAC/OGG/DIVX/MP3.......
- PocketNotepad
- PocketRAR
- XPDF
- PSShutXP
- Dutty's SDHC driver package (tested with 2/4/8/16gb)
- PimBackup
- JWright's Network Plugin
- TaskManager 3.1
- TotalCommander 2.5
- MSN Messenger (the old one that eats less RAM)
- Remote Desktop Client
- FDCTaskSwitcher (press the backlight button)
- WM5torage (working and updated to v1.9)
This build uses extremely simple layouts for Today and Dialer screens.
The spartan white backgrounds may look clunky, but the fact that they use no backdrop image saves >1mb of ram at all times
This rom also leaves out bootsplash screens, so you will see a black screen on boot, followed by a white screen.
Tap the white screen to begin using the device on 1st boot.
Drivers, XIP section, registry, pagepool and filesystem have all been optimised for speed and RAM.
Priviledge execution certificate checking (and unnecessary certificates) have been removed to save CPU cycles, registry space and whatever other resources that crap was wasting.
Every single EXE, DLL, MUI, CPL and plugin has been made into a module - with the exception of .NET libs (can't be modular) and one or two specific DLLs that will not boot in modular form.
I wanted to remove everything unnecessary and leave the maximum resources available.

long time no see!
nice to hear from you. a new ROM is always nice.
maybe I'll try it later.
Cheers
EDIT: can you provide a kitchen to add some apps like fingerkb and fingermenu, or even better provide a new version with it?
btw i still keep some a your previous kitchen/rom modded with some oem that i added, hehe cooking was funny.
Thanks a lot thingonaspring!
Nice to see you back cooking for Uni!
Wish List
It's nice to see a performance oriented ROM for our UNI.
Will try to flash it tonight.. Is there a performance option to overclock the CPU speed?
just to share my thought, I think a vanilla ROM optimised for performance should have these mandatory apps:
1. performance setting to overclock CPU speed
2. Advanced config
3. wkTASK manager (the best i ever used) / other task manager
4. SDHC support
5. WM5torage
6. mortscript support for oxios hibernate
7. Of course, oxios hibernate or other apps to recover our precious, precious RAM.
for multimedia, the best & RAM efficient apps that i've ever used :
1. TCPMP player for video
2. S2P for music
3. S2V for picture viewer
it's just my thought.. for our Uni has very little RAM (at least for 64mb standard version) any other suggestion will be nice

Good to see someone working on this device.
Would post my experience.
One question to EXPERTS
Is there any limit how many times the DOC of Unoversal can be formatted?
Because I use Cotulla Q3 rom and to change to some other rom I have to format DOC everytime....so please comment.
(Or should I start a new thread for my querry)
Wow, nice to have you back Thing. Thought we'd lost you. Loved your last ROM... along with it's kitchen... however as you say, I think that was well over a year ago.
I've just flashed and installed another ROM. However, I'll give this one a go now.
Awe come on, "This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times"
Can someone upload somewhere else please?

Had no idea rapidshare started putting a 10 file limit on uploads. Not nice.
Less nice is that I don't have the file with me - it's at work.
Sorry to mess everyone about, I'll re-up the ROM on monday morniing (GMT) and up the kitchen too.

That's great, thanks thing.
Who were the 10 who downloaded the file? Perhaps they'd be kind enough to post it for now?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance will wait eagerly upto monday morning
mirror link...tanks
Welcome back Thingonaspring, this looks an interesting build. Maybe one of the 10 downloaders would like to share their copy and mirror it for others to try, then we can do the same?

Bluetooth & ringtone..
Bluetooth not working...do I need some 3rd party app?
Standard ringtone only!And I can't add another ringtone,is there any way ?
On soft reset it has 33 MB RAM.
With all the apps (Resco / MSVC etc... but no SPB stuff) I still get ~30MB.
Looks are lesser than pure vanilla though. But it is already expected.
Is it a final release or beta.

OS Builder Kitchen for Tornado: WM6, WM6.1 and WM6.5 English + German

Finally with the help of Gregory's old Tornado kitchen I could identify the culprit which made the WM6.1 and especially WM6.5 Tornado Builds unstable. So find here the final result of the Tornado Kitchen evolution:
http://www.mediafire.com/?702i46jc477ey <-- Click Me!
The files there and their purpose:
all kitchen (WM6, WM6.1 and WM6.5) with ~93MB: tobbbie-OSB-Kitchen-Tornado-WM6,WM61,WM65-(Ger+Eng).7z
Note that is just 1.5-times the size of just one kitchen and you get 3 in a box
WM6.1 Kitchen (my favorite) with ~59MB: tobbbie-OSB-Kitchen-Tornado-WM61-(Ger+Eng).7z
All example builds are created with this one, names of the builds are like the configuration files, re-cooking is a snap here!
4 ready made builds (nk.nbf) to flash in 2 flavors each (Ger/Eng and Eng/Ger) with ~135MB (content of ~247MB): tobbbie-WM61-builds(nk.nbf).7z
Just the same 8 builds, but as os.nb0 files (so not Tornado encrypted) which makes them much better compressible. You get the same 247 MB of builds with just one file of ~39MB: tobbbie-WM61-builds(OS.nb0).7z
The tools you need to make your Tornado get that new stuff loaded. 2 Directories with the needed tools, just follow the obvious sequence. This includes nb2nbf_tornado.exe to convert os.nb0 to nk.nbf, of course.: tobbbie-Tornado-Flash-Tools.7z
Before I elaborate much on the details (and nobody would ever care), just pick what you need and get going. For questions, just come back here.
On the content:
The OEM parts are identical on WM61 and WM65 and the selected packages will auto-insert their relevant settings CPL via registry. This does not work on WM6 and there you have to take care yourself. 90% stem from the history of the Nitrogen Kitchen (which is built on others' contribution). Over time some panels were re-arranged and options added.
The SYS are for WM6 the original from Nitro's kitchen, the WM61 comes from the Rose (S740) and the WM65 from the Captain (S521).
Here the listed history of my kitchen:
there was the Nitrogen WM6 Kitchen - the first for me, as I was a late starter, only picking up cooking because wanted to get SDHC support in my beloved Candy-bar phone. Long time happy with that until there came the OS Builder framework which has really opened up so many new doors...
I ported that batch kitchen to the Hurricane with WM6 but left it there (still nagging me to get that ported to OSB, we will see...)
Then I picked up porting Aleut's WM6.5 kitchen for the Typhoon to Ger/Eng and finally also to OSB (with some special care on non-relocatable modules).
Finally I publish here the end of the story for Tornado including all builds and each of them tweaked to the limit (smallest XIP) but still portable and reversible from the dump. Play with it if you like!
Thanks go to:
cotulla and llnhhy for the SDHC on Tornado (I would not have started all this cooking without THIS contribution!)
Nitrogenious for his WM6 kitchen
Gregory for
the "format BINFS <size>" before loading the nk.nbf - this distributes the flash between ROM size and later available device storage on a 1MB granularity (and only works on the Tornado afaik - not Typhoon and Hurricane for sure)
letting me dig into his last Tornado kitchen (Tornllnhhy_last.zip, unpublished) which allowed me to find out what makes the difference between a stable reboot and such that occasionally lose Bluetooth, Wifi or both - always having wifioff.exe hang the device. The WM6.1 and WM6.5 kitchen would have never been published without this:
Code:
; from gregory's WM65 rgu
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\BTHLINK]
"Prefix"="BTL"
"Dll"="bthlink.dll"
"Index"=dword:00000000
"Order"=dword:00000008
"Keep"=dword:00000001
"Context"=dword:00000000
"DisplayName"="bth"
"Description"="bth"
It seems that adding that dll to the service initialization part will rectify the boot sequence in the way that a stable reboot is achieved. I have a mortscript do the reboot and symptom collect and could supply proof that hundreds of reboot can happen in a row without ever loosing BT and/or WiFi. Before that tweak the range of failure was 30-50%!
barin for OS Builder
ultrashot for parts of OS Builder and continued support for my questions in the context of understanding some more about the virtual memory concept and the paging pool.
The gained insight has made me drop UPX from the builds and be generous with granting paging pool size. There is no gain in hunting for free RAM on expense of the paging pool! Reserve ~25-30% of available RAM to the paging pool, but not less than ~4MB. More than 12MB on smartphone is no gain, so my builds have 8MB. You can alter this (without re-cooking) using the "Smart PagePool changer" which is part of each kitchen set.
many others at xda-developers that make this such an informative place to be
I know I have to add links to some references - this will come later.
Candy-bar smartphones for ever!
Just to let you know: The SDHC lets the device also read FAT32 formatted SDXC cards (e.g.64 GB). It even reads more than one partition (I have 2 on my Android) and mounts both of them (32k Cluster size used).
Not sure how well the performance will be when managing data there - but reading a large music collection should be ok
