I have a Qtek 9100, I installed teh A2DP cab file, but didnt remember to add the DLL files to the Windows library first.
My filemanager now hangs cause i tried to open the Windows library so the symbol for working keeps running around on the screen for ages, but nothing happens.
Is there a way to save my settings and files and avoid a total reset of my unit???

Hey, i have upgraded my iPAQ 2415 to WM2005(Windows Mobile) and i am not satisfied with it and alot of applications dont work well on it so i dont have original back up and i want to revert back to WM2003. I tried to press the RESET button on the iPAQ but it didnt reset to WM2003 it just reset to a new WM2005. I tried to load a ROM of WM2003 and it didnt work, i just got a message: "Hello world" and nothing happens and i just have to reset and same thing happens over and over..

Since upgrading to AS 4.5, I can no longer install applications on my htc Touch.
The error message reads:
"Application Manager cannot intall this application on your mobile device due to an error in the setup file. Reinstall and try again"
Happens with all .exe files and I have re-installed AS4.5 several times and tried "Repair".
Don't think it's an issue with programs that weren't designed for WM6 because I can't install the Sprite and spbGPRS programs from the htcTouch CD
I'm running XP Home SP2 and log on with Administrator privilages
The files install OK on my work PC which runs XP2 Prof SP2 with no Administrator privilages.
Any ideas anybody?

no answers anywhere I can see.
The Microsoft site only applies to specific programs, like the Media Player one you pointed to or Powerpoint.
Only thing I can find is possibly the .ini file doesn't have the correct version notation for instance it states version 1 instead of version 1.0
That still doesn't explain why they all install on the PC at work though.
Both PCs running AS4.5, both running Windows XP
i dont really thing activesycn is good at cleaning up after itself when reinstalled and or uninstalled
i've seen lots of files in it's dir
and lots of registrys it leave behind
a good cause would go and hunt them down and make sure
that a reinstall is really a reinstall
After updating to this (WM6.1 Std. 5.2.1238.19208) cooked ROM, everything looking good.
But most of my installation CABs wont install because of "Installation was unsuccessful" error. Ive tried app unlocks with about 3 variations of Security/Policies settings, without success.
Have somebody the same complication or even solution?

I have no such problem. Today I installed all my programs from cab-files without any problems.
Try reinstall WM6.1 and use SDA Aplication Unlock.
actually, there is no problem. But when I wanna install .Net CF 3.5, yes there is a problem. I can't install it, err msg: please close other application, maximum the storage capacity. I just flash the rom and nothing was installed yet, so it totally empty (the storage). But when I install the .Net CF 2.0, it works. Does anyone have the same problem?
Why do you install .Net Framework 3.5? WM6.1 already has it.

I think it's better to do Hard Reset.
Maybe most 6.1 do, but my touch pro wm 6.1 came with net 2.0 and i have to install 3.5 after a hard reset. I install it then do the reg edit found here: http://pocketnow.com/how-to/tutorial-how-to-upgrade-to-microsoft-net-compact-framework-35

As for the not being able to install a cab... I am having a similar problem.
I cannot install ANY cab. There is no programs in the uninstall programs list. (There should be around 10 programs there?!?) AND I cant seem to delete any files (get a access denied error) all I have tried to delete so far is a couple of cab files) Tried with File Explorer and Total Commander.
Does anyone have any Ideas??
Just did a hard reset. installed: task manager, advanced config, clean ram, FIM(facebook program), google maps, HTC GPS tool, phm regedit, Total commander, touch in call screen tweek,, and pocket digital clock. (above in no order) The last program I installed was Clean ram. I'm no expert but I do know my way around WM and I am totally lost on this. Is there anyway to fix this without another Hard Reset??
edit: Just gonna do a hard reset. I'll report back if I have this problem again. *sigh*

I tried the several methods mentioned
I have copied the SPL files on to the root and \windows directory
-Executed the JumpSPL.exe
-shows the white screen
-Unplugged the USB and Plugged back - And i hear the sound as well
-Then tried to run the G3 rom update utilitiy too.
- Application crashes on Desktop [Win 7] while verifying the information
I have to do a soft reset to come back
I tried to run upgrade package utility as well - Stil FAILS.
In this method i tried to inject the Rom - more than 10 mb and that fails.
Can someone help me , Desperatley want to see Wm6
Hi i installed some older version of dotpocket on my ppc (wm 6.1), and had to restart the device in order to enable some startup. BUT after i restarted the device no input was recorded on the device ( i men the touch screen and the keypad are not responding AT ALL) i uninstalled the application using active sync deleted any registry file i fond from that file bun nothing helped.
Pls help I'm all out of ideas because i cant reset the device ( because i have to type 12345 on the device) a cant reinstall the ROM (this needs to be started from the device) and i was unable to find any remote user application that lets me control the ppc from my desktop pc (i fond apps but none that doesn't require selecting yes or something similar.
all i can do with the device is connect using active sync (copy and paste files) and i found some app tat lets me edit the WM 6.1 registry files.
