Hi to everybody and excuse me for my poor english. I'm from Italy and I would like to ask you something about my new smartphone, a Samsung Sgh-I320N.
This sp, at least here in Italy, doesn't have a pre-installed midlet manager like htc smartphones and ppc phone edition (intent), so I installed the websphere micro environment (IBM J9).
This midp works well on the phone and infact I'm able to use google maps (it works like a charm!) and to install opera mini browser.
The problem with opera mini is that the two soft-keys are useless and I can't control the functions like "menu" and "back" of the browser.....any suggetion about what could be the solution?
I've already tried to install opera mini for htc tornado, for motorola q and also let the device (using pocket IE) download the best version of this browser but the problem remains
Here are a few screenshots of google maps on i320n and one of opera mini (however fantastic browser!!) with the two useless soft-keys:

....and off course.....this is the smartphone (brand TIM version)......here in my country it's not very popular yet....
P.S.

is my english so bad? .....any ideas?
I've just found that opera mini has also a great support forum! Here is the FAQ:

....maybe the link will be useful, it seems that the problem of the softkey is quite common

I have spend hours and hours searching for a smartphone that I like, but I haven't found many to choose from. So I though I'd ask the experts.
I am looking for a smartphone that has the following:
- Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.0
- WiFi b/g
- Front Numerical Pad (NO qwerty keybords)
- Slim (As slim as possible)
So far I found the following:
HP iPAQ 510 Smartphone

gotta be the typhoon. Imate sp5 etc
I hope this question is not OT. I was planning to get a HTC S710 as a replacement for my Noika E61. But then i found that at least with an S620 (i know WM5) it's not possible to enter multiple day appointments at the mobile device. Tracking a bit further down i found out with an SDA (T-Mobile) it's not possible either. How about WM6? Can anybody take a few screenshots of the menus an post it here (or email me).
I never considered this a problem as with my mda (HTC magician - PPC2003 SE) it's possible.
greetings from germany

Hi matrix77,
thanx for your reply, but what i meant (but didn't ask clearly enough) is, if it is possible to plan an appointment which e.g. starts on april, 1. at 2 pm and lasts till april 3. at 10 am.
I hope it's clear enough now
thanx
tswimmer
Yes it is possible, in the native calendar, when setting up an appointment you can select a start date & time as well as a finish date & time. There is always 3rd party applications as well, which should be able to do this in WM5.
Hi again,
thanx h4waii - this great news. There is one question left - did you test this with the standard (WM5 Smartphone replacement) or the professional edition - or even better directly on a HTC S710?
Greetings again
tswimmer
Yep, I have checked it on my HTC S710 running WM6 Standard. Professional is for touch screens.
I just set a 4 day appointment, works good.
Hello again,
this solves all my problems - i will order a S710 asap. Thax to everybody

If I had the cash and if I didn't love my iPhone so much, I'd be very tempted to get me the X1 (short for Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1). Like I said when it was first announced, it seems to be the ultimate Messenger phone:

a slide-out keyboard, Windows Mobile 6.1 with its almost perfect mobile version of Windows Live Messenger... and so damn slick-looking.
Earlier this month a special Windows Live panel was released which syncs your Windows Live contacts and those in your X1's phonebook, and provides access to Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger and a voice-activated/controlled Windows Live Search. More Windows Live services will be added to the panel later on.
>> Download the Windows Live Panel for free from SonyEricsson Fun or directly to your Xperia by going to www.sonyericsson.com/fun.
Note: The X1 was released to limited markets only. Look here for worldwide release dates.

Does someone has the cab file for this messenger.
That seems pretty interesting
I don't think it'll do you anything good, since the X1 is a PPC and not a smartphone!

Ya I forgot It is touch screen PPC with keyboard not smartphone.
Okay, this is regarding 6.5.1. I installed Opera Mini 5 in JBed. But I dont know it's some glitch, or because of the OS, the text is very large. The menus, titlebar, etc are oversized. I have to set OM's font size to 'Very Small' and even that only fixes the in-page text, not the text in the application.
I've got some screenshots here:

This is not the problem of rom i think may be its the problem of jbed try to reinstall latest version and download opera mini 5 beta generic version.
Okay I'll try installing JBed again. Where can I find Opera Mini 5 SIGNED version? Even on the official site it's unsigned.
It doesn't come with a signed version.
And... why use Opera Mini while we can use the faster and more functional Opera Mobile?
lol
Opera Mini (IMO) is much lighter and functional.

HTC Connection Setup PPC v3.1.2016.2829
Thank you for that cab. It turns out that it is the HTC Connection Setup PPC v3.1.2016.2829 which I was looking for to install on my HTC Tilt 2. Maybe it should mentioned in your post? Was it ripped from a LEO shipped ROM?
