Default Contact List .exe? - General Topics

Somehow, when I installed GoodLink for my corporate email, the original Contacts.exe program was deleted (or all links pointing to it have been modified). Can anyone use Total Commander to tell me what the Contact List shortcut links to, and possibly upload that file to the forum so I can fix this mess?
I would love you forever.

anyone?

Can't delete 'ghost' email accounts

Hi
Something went wrong while restoring a backup using Sprite Backup, and it only partially restored my email accounts. In the TF3D interface, the accounts are visible. But as soon as I tap an email to open it in the WM email program, I directs me to the main Messaging screen. In that screen the email accounts do not show op.
When I try to re-add the account under the same name, I get an error saying the account already exists. I've looked in the registry and file structure to see where WM6 stores mail account information, but was unable to find it.
Does anyone know which files or registry keys I need to delete to make sure all traces of the email accounts are gone?
why don't you try to do a restore again?

The backup was from when I was running a different rom, that's why it's not working the way it should.
I had the same problem. I wrote simple MortScript.
Delete "\cemail.vol"
Click to collapse
Place a shortcut to this script to a \Windows\Startup folder and reset. It will have a brand new cemail.vol file when everything boots up. Don't forget to delete the shortcut, or you'll have a brand new cemail.vol every time you boot. It would delete email and sms/mms. After that you can restore your mail one more time.
Problem is in your Sprite Backup and unmark some fields with registry restore ( manual mark fields ). After second restore everything was ok.
Thanks! that fixed it
Perfect fix!
Thanks
I used MortScript to solve the problem. The disadvantage to this is that it wipes out your Txt message history and all your e-mail accounts... all things considered, I'm very happy with this solution.
One thing that tripped me up: When you edit a file in Mobile Word and save it as a text file, it will put a .txt extension on the file, no matter how you tell it to save it. You cannot fix this with File Explorer built into WM6. You will need to either edit the file name with Total Commander or through your computer (via Activesync).
Same Issue
Same issue here, but please How do I write the Mortscript? Any Step by Step guide? This is practically new to me. I just copied what you wrote above into word and create a .txt file?
The ghost email ( 1) on my tab is so annoying

Htc touch diamond - 'contacts' - link broken

I have a TC Touch Diamond with ROM 1.38.841.5WWE.
I have recently dowloaded the following apps:
Start Menu Certificates;
GadgetFreak Block icon
Shakassicone demarrer
Holy Clock
Tsowen taskbar (v.5)
I also downloaded a program to enable differing wallpapers to change on the mainscreen, but I have since deleted. When I loaded this program (forgot the name) I deleted seven files from 'my pictures' that had a silouette of a person on them. These files came with the standard ROm and I can not remember the names of the flders. I deleted them because they interchanged with my other wallpaper on my phone.
Now, when I go to 'contacts', 'all people', I get a list of all contacts that are downloaded on to my phone. However, when I click and open any contact, I get a blank screen with 'summary' and 'notes tabs at the bottom of the page.
If I send an email or a SMS, when I click on 'to' the conatcts relevant details; ie phone number or email address come up on the sreen.
It would appear the data file is on te phone, but the link between it and the individual contact is missing.
I am thinking of doind a hard reset, but thought there may be a fix.
I have looked through the forum and the wiki but can't find a similar problem.
Many thanks for your assistance.

Found the error
I did a soft reset of the phone and then placed on program by program. I found the problem arose from the Tsowen taskbar (v.5) file. Whilst the program itself performed without issue, each time I loaded it I lost the link to individual contacts from the 'all contacts' page.

I need the .lnk file for Outlook Contacts

I ran the ClearTemp software and it deleted the .lnk file or whatever it's called for my Outlook Contacts icon. So, I can no longer get into my Outlook Contacts. The icon for Outlook Contacts is gone both in the programs and the Start Menu. How do I get the file back, or create a new file? Where are these files located on the phone? They don't show file extenstions with File Explorer, so it makes it really hard to find anything. I can't even find a search feature to search for files. Thank you for your help and time.
If you did this, it's easy to find this.
Edit: BTW, you need TotalCommander.
Thanks for the information, but I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do. It's very confusing. I just create a text file called anything I want, like outlook.lnk and I just put "poutlook.exe" in that text file? Then what folder does that file go into? Does it matter? How do I get a link on my, "Programs" desktop to it? I'm really confused. Thanks.

Just look in your windows folder with active sync. Organize by file type, and scroll to the .lnk files. That's where you'll find it, although it may have a different name (check initflashfiles.dat if the naming is weird). Copy to the start menu and rename if needed.

[Question] Where does the mobile inbox downoad the files to?

Hey guys. I just want to know where the email client on the windows mobile downloads the files to?
Because I'm trying to find a better/easier/faster way to transfer files from my CPU to my phone. (Feel free to suggest any).
But yeah, I get a message about the inbox won't open it cause of the type of file it is, Where is the folder that I can find those files?
Attachments on emails are stored on \Windows\Messaging\Attachments by default, or in \Storage Card\InboxXXX...\Mail Attachments if the option was selected. Email bodies are store in \Windows\Messaging. Both emails bodies and attachments are not readable directly, so you will have to look arround a lot to find the attachment you want. However I would be extremely careful about working on those folders, or you might end up with empty text emails and/or missing attachments. Hope this helps.

Send-to-dropbox not working!!

To Mods: Not sure if this belongs here but I couldn’t find anyother sub forum here on xda to post this question. Also did a google search but this question has not been discussed.
So I use send-to-dropbox (http://sendtodropbox.com/_ to save files to dropbox from work as dropbox isn’t accessible from work. Once saved on dropbox, I can access them via dropbox app on my phone and email them and do whatever I want with them. As of today, send to dropbox hasnt been working. When I email a file, it doesn’t show up in the dropbox folder.
If anyone use it, would you know whats wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks
