.ICS Calender - anyway yet other than PC->Sync?

Hi Guys
is there still no way to import ICS entries that are sent direct to the phone other than via a PC running outlook?

I lost my contacts help please

Hi,
Today i lost allllll contacts and calendar on my htc touch with the help of the fabulous and wonderful program L_.-¨Active Sync 4.5¨-._J
It´s possible to recover the contacts that i have lost?
Thank u!!!
Did you loose them on your desktop? if not then just open active sync and go to file>Delete Mobile Device. then reconnect and resync.
SoBBie
Dude I sympathize, did the same with me.
Then again I've been having 85010014 probs with activesync for ages, tryied everythin. It connects up but won't sync anything other than mobile favs
If that wasn't frustrating enough after transfering all my calender info n contacts over from my old tytn to my tytn2 by painstakingly bluetoothing vcards for each n every entry Activesync then when and wiped the bloody lot I'm guessing it happened by me changing the sync profile to not sync anything (thought it was a waste of time as it didn't work anyhow).
I was just gonna used Async to transfer cabs n music, next thing I know my phones got no contacts or calender info
As a work around I have e-mailed myself my contacts list as vcards but this doesnt seem to work 4 calender stuff.
At least it didn't wipe my outlook details
Moral of the story!
Get some backup software n use it
If you've still got ur outlook stuff n Async is not working try the e-mail method

any Ubuntu users????

hello again!

This works, but it's a ***** to setup,
Post here if you need help and I will try my best.
Hi
I use Tael ROM as well and ubuntu 9.10 (soon will upgrade to 10.04) i gave up on trying to sync my phone with evolution....
my work around is: i use google sync
1.my HTC TP sync with google: contact/calendar
2.evolution on ubuntu sync with google: contact/calendar
so its 2way sync via google easy to set and does the job (before using evolution i was doing the same with thunderbird)
Cheers,

Yes! first sign up for a gmail account and then setup your phone ( http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138636&topic=14299 ) and sync your phone with your new gmail....
after that you can setup your evolution to sync with gmail (calendar and contact) ( http://www.linux.com/news/software/applications/8226-how-to-sync-evolution-with-googles-pim-apps )
hope this will help

[Q] Windows Phone 7 / Zune Update and Outlook Sync

Hello,
first I wanna thank all of you guys for this awesome Forum.
I've recently flashed the WP7 ROM to my HD2 and it works totally great.
Now my question concerning the Outlook sync.
I don't want to sync my Outlook data to the web like Hotmail, Google etc.
Is there anyway to get a workaround for that?
I was thinking of using the Fileexplorer or the USB Masstorage trick to get a Outlook csv File on the phone.
Is there a chance to sync the phone with this file, when I copie it there?
Further, does anyone of you guys know, if Microsoft has planned to update Zune or WP7 for a straight USB-Sync Outlook support ?
Sorry for my English and thanks in advance
I'm in the same boat as you..
Why on God's Green Earth can I not do anything I need to do with this phone???
Yes I understand Microsoft needed to go in a new direction for speed and functionality.. But you should have left active sync alone.. Also given me MyPhone capabilities.. at the very least..
So now what can I go?
Can I create some hotmail account just for syncing my outlook calendar and contacts?
Anyone???

HTC Sync cannot detect the phone if iTunes installed

If any of you is having trouble to let HTC Sync detect the phone, try to rename the "iTunes" folder in your "My Documents\Music" folder.
When I bought the phone, I installed the HTC Sync v3.0.5517 (which was on the SD card and newer than the online version) on my Windows 7 x64 SP1 e never could see it detected by the software. Every time I launched it, the notification icon showed that the phone was detected and after 2 seconds disappeared (htcUPCTLoader.exe also disappeared from task manager).
I tryed the software in a WinXP Virtual Machine and it worked fine, so I decided to contact the HTC Support in order to know if there was some incompatibility with Win7 x64 SP1: the told me that the problem was my PC
After a few search, I found a similar problem in another forum, and tried to rename the iTunes folder, and I finally got HTC Sync starting and synching like a charm. The problem is when the software tries to detect our iTunes playlist in order to show them in the Media synchronization.
I replied back to the HTC Support telling them this issue, hoping that they will fix it.
Thanks
Thanks for the Info,
I've same problem with XP-Media Center, Sync installed from SD-Card and then a connect and nothing. The HTC Sync is starting up and then "updating HTC...." for ever.
When leaving the room with Device connect it started up after a while (1hour probably - was not in the room) and then I could set up the sync but it never started.
Will give it a try in the evening.
Cheers
Mike
What are you guys syncing with HTC Sync?
I found that Google's own sync tools were best for calendars and contacts?
I originally uploaded all my Outlook calendar & contacts into my Google account in the cloud and now the phone syncs itself without the need for HTC Sync.
If you need to continue to still use Outlook you can do as Google Calendar Sync will continue to sync both ways.
works perfect!
Thanks a lot,
I've renamed the I-Tunes folder and HTC-Sync was running perfect.
Cheers
Mike

I'm using HTC Sync with Outlook for 2 reasons:
- I can sync my Outlook contacts with my 2nd phone
- I hate having unuseful mail contacts (eg: work mail, mailing-list senders) in my phone
