hello there..
under PREFERENCES/SOUNDS&NOTIFIES (or hwatever in ENGL. cause my Win is GER here Wink
i can set sounds and vibration and even a blinking LED....
right?
i understand that so, that for example if i miss a call or if there is a new sms it blinks yellow instead of green as usual...
BUT it would be reasonable if it blinks different till i notice that new thing.
BUT it blinks so long until the time is up that i chose in the preferences.... that is stupid... so it blinks longer, even when i recognised the missed call or the new message....
any comments of you to this topic???
thx in advance!
Try a soft reset if you cant get the red flashing LED to go away.
If after that it still doesn't go off after you've look at whatever it's notifying then I have no idea.
Sometimes I have this problem on my Alpine. Most of the time the flashing persists it stops after a minute or so, other times it seems to need the soft reset. Happens so rarely I haven't really investigated.

Hi guys!
I use the XDA II myself but gave an XDA I as a gift to a friend.
However, while he has it in his pocket it seems to turn itself off completely, as in not remaining on standby for calls and sms.
He turns off the screen using the usual button, puts it in his pocket and an hour or so later, wonders why he hasn't had calls or messages. He touches the button again and gets the blue o2 screen and logo just as in a soft reset, as the device turns itself on and receives messages and missed calls notifications.
It doesn't happen all the time but once or twice a day. Obviously the device is useless if he cannot rely on it to be on standby for calls, and if he has to keep rechecking it to see if it's live.
It happens even when battery is fully charged so it's not a powersaving cutoff.
Here's the details
XDA I
ROM 317.03ENG
Romdate 05/15/03
Radio Version 4.21.00
Protocol Version 32S54
I'd be grateful for help if anyone knows what's wrong and how to solve it.
Best regards to all
Conor
Does this happen even when the xda is clean with nothing installed? It may be an idea to do a hard reset and use it for a while to see if it happens without any software installed.

I do have this problem too. I think WM2003 is not really fully suitable for XDA1.
Beside this, I also encounter problems like the phone will gard reset itself if you enter the phone BAND selection page. Also, the phone will turn on by itself which it didnt when I was still with the PPC2002.
Have to bear with it as I CANNOT flash the rom anymore as the WM2003 refused to let me do it.
Bye.

Yes - a hard reset didn't help things...

Any other ideas out there?
Thanks
The SIM rubber cover is reseting the device.
To test it, turn the device on and lightly press on the rubber cover to see if the device resets or turns off.
It is a known problem! Try to open the rubber cover on top of the SIM card and close it again.
If that does not help do a search for a fix...
Hello All,
My Magician by random sometimes starts and after a minute or so it shut down it self
and than start itself up .
It never stay on for longer than one or two minutes.
Sometimes it does not react when i pushed the on button and the red LED light is on
when i put it on the bat loader.
Only when the red LED is going of then i can get it started but than as i mentioned before
it go's off after one or two minutes and start by itself.
Sometimes it can not make the startup compleet and shut down at the first screen.
This is the satus which i got it back from a service repair from the phoneshop where i bought it.
They say that the warant is over time so i must pay for further repairs.
Please anyone help.
Hello all...
just got my polaris last month. everything was ok, the phone was NEVER been dropped or what so ever. i treated it like my baby. but sometimes something weird happened. my polaris keeps vibrating when there is incoming message. and it keeps vibrating until i have to soft reset it. anything else wont do. the X button, task manager etc. everything in my polaris is original. anyone had this problem before? please help!
thank you
It has happened to me a couple of times.
I've no idea why, I have also treated my phone gently as is my custom with all my technology. There do not seem to have been any side effects though and it has only happend twice since i got the phone three months ago.
I don't think it's much to worry about.
*fingers crossed*
Just flash new rom, it helps

No, that won't help. Got the problem 3 times now, i think, in more then 6 months. Got the problem with the original, bepe and with the latest udK Diamond ROM. Just soft-reset and wait till the next time it happens
If your phone gets stuck vibrating, you can turn off the vibration by triggering an event that causes a vibration (instead of having to reboot the device). I used to have to send myself a text message (I have my phone set to vibrate for incoming texts) and that would do the trick. Now with the latest S2U2 builds with the volume control enhancement, I just use that to turn vibrate on and off (it will vibrate when you turn it to vibrate) and that does the trick as well.
hmm...i guess there is no absolute solution to this problem.
My HTC Cruise got splattered with beer last night and now its constantly vibrating, i mean...even if i turn off the device it still does it. Tried soft and hard reset, dry, clean, dry again and nothing happened, still the same. It only stops when i remove the battery of course.
The weird thing is that it vibrates in a less strong way than normal vibration. is this a known issue? How do i solve it? doest it have anything to do with the water detector on this type of phones?
Please, someone help me its really anoying to have a phone vibrating like that in my pocket lol. Thank you in advance.
Hello, it's been happening for a while now and it's annoyed me enough to get off my ass and look for an answer, fail, ask here, then realise I didn't actually get off my ass.
So... how come my Diamond doesn't receive SMS in stand-by?
It's weird, it does receive the text but here's a scenario:
My friend sends me a text while it's charging (back light is on), it arrives as it should.
My friend sends me a text while I'm out and the phone is in my pocket (back light off/on stand-by)
Nothing
...1 hour later...
I check to see what time it is by pressing the power button on & off.
10 seconds-1 min later I start to get all the texts I should have. And on the text message it says it was received 1 hour ago.
It's a pain in the ass.
Has anybody else have this problem? How did you fix it?
Thanks!
So I just got an RMA and if its the issue I dont know. I can get text and emails all day long and the led works. But if I reboot the phone and get an
email the LED does not work. I can send myself an email from my PC after I start this phone and I can hear the alert but no LED. I can then clear
the message and then try again and it works just fine again. Is this normal?
if someone could try powering off the phone and then turning it back on, then without touching your phone have someone or send yourself an email to see if yours works would be great. If its normal I won't sweat it.:good:
