HTC's Phonepad......Jammin

Hi guys
Ive recently got my jammin and have found that without installing the extended rom the device speed is alot better.
Bu theres 1 prog in the extended rom that i use alot which is the phonepad ...Ive found the cab located in the rom but the problem is the cab also install the voice app / pdf viewer and java app.
Is there a cab available thatll just install the phonepad and nothing else?
Thanks
if you post the cab we can easily extract the parts you don't want, or you can do it yourself with WinCE Cab Manager
Ok brilliant ive attahced the cab
Thanks alot
This cab doesn't install the voice cab or anything like it.
It makes 4 shortlinks and addssome values to the register, that's all it does.
so it just installs the phonepad...is there anyway of deleting all the etxra links .etc .etc and just it installing the phonepad ?
No it doesn't install the phonepad, in fact it doesn't install any software at all, this cab.
However you can delete the shortlinks, located here; /windows/start menu/
But remember you still don't uninstall/delete the actual software.
Ah , ok ....so do you know the phone pad (touchpad thng for texts .etc .etc) ....Not smartdialing program...Is this actually located on the rom itseld or does it install from the extended rom.
As i thought it was installed form the extended rom but now this as got me thinking its hard encoded in the rom itself?
Is this rite on HTC devices?
Thanks
The touchpad itself is included in the rom, however I've seen you can enable/disable some of those input pads with some registry settings.
Unafortunatly I don't know what settings and if it can be done on all htc devices.
On my wizard it's enabled by default.
ok ,Thanks for the help / info

How do you save cab files when they are installed?

I am trying to figure out what registry I have to change in order to make it so that cab files arent automatically deleted when you install them. I had to revert back to WM5 because I am getting tired of the performance issues with the custom WM6 roms and also all of the bugs and glitches... Every rom has it's own set of quirks. I find t-mobiles official wm5 rom to be most stable and fastest so I changed back to that.
Please help me with this little problem. Thanks in advance, Dan.
goto system>advance settings there should be an option not to auto delete install cab files.im running the same rom as you black diamond 2
Thanks but I recently changed back to the official T-mobile rom because I finally got tired of all of the bugs and glitched and performance issues with custom roms.
Thats why I am trying to figure out what registry to change.

Then why are you posting in the WM6 forum??? Posting here usually means you are asking about WM6.
All the answers are in the Wiki if you read / search...
Or grab a tool like Schaps advanced Config or similar and just tick the right box...
From the wiki:
Make WM5 keep CAB files around after installing (1)
If you wish to keep the original .CAB file around after installing the application, set:
HKLM\Software\apps\Microsoft Application Installer\nDynamicDelete = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Or to restore to the default:
HKLM\Software\apps\Microsoft Application Installer\nDynamicDelete = 2 (DWORD decimal)
Make WM5 keep CAB files around after installing (2)
An alternative method of making WM5 keep the original .CAB file around after installing the application is by adding the "/nodelete" option to the Windows CE loader:
HKCR\cabfile\Shell\open\command = 'wceload.exe "%1" /nodelete' (REG_SZ string, no quotes)

Help after Rom Install

Hi everyone,
I installed a new rom from Helmi's .90 kitchen and everything works great, I strongly recomend it. One thing I have noticed is that I can not change the settings files for the programs that are installed via the kitchen. For instance I am trying to change the english.language.ini file for PocketCM but the file properties show that it is read only and (in ROM). Other programs do the same. I have tried to change the properties but it wont let me. I dont think it has anything to do with it but I do have the ext rom unlocked. Is this normal for ROM programs or am I missing something.
I have tried searching and have not come up with something so I dont know if this is something with me and my device. I have reflashed twice with the same effect.
I have an HTC Apache/XV6700
Thanks everyone, you guys are amazing. Timmay!!!

No custom ringtones anymore - Help Needed

Hi,
I have an HTC Blackstone with stock rom.
I can't set custom ringtones anymore.
I use HTC MP3 "chopper" software ("découpeur MP3" in French). When my personnal ringtone is created I try to set it as default but I get a message "Impossible to record the file. Please check if the storage space is sufficient and try again".
Tried it another way with the explorer. Moved this file and another one (dowloaded on HTC site) to windows / ringtones. When I go to settings and try to select this sound manually it still doesn't work. The sound is not played and you can't select this custom ringtone. So now I can only use stock ringtones.
I have searched for answers on this site but found nothing that could solve my problem.
Please Help.

Request: Stock i920 Wavedev Settings and Files

I've been looking for a fix to the "no sound" problem caused by installing srs wow hd for my i920. Can someone post the unmodified registry values for...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Drivers\ BuiltIn\ WaveDev\
And also, could someone please extract any .dll files associated with this registry key and post them here? I want to return everything to stock entries and try to get rid of whiskeybro's srs hd wow installation. It has wreaked havoc on my phones functionality and I haven't found a reasonable fix yet.
Please help me!
SRS works great wouldn't have a phone without it...
Must be something else.
Have you done a "hard reset" ?

Well, I'm positive its primarily caused by SRS. Installing it gives me sound but slows the phones speed down to a snails pace. Uninstalling it returns the phones function to normal but removes ALL sound output. This tells me its definitely a SRS problem.
In any case, I'm preparing the DC23 update from samsung to flash to the newer version of the i920 stock rom. If I don't find a fix by later tonight I'll just flash it and start installing my programs again.
Are you using the Omnia version of WOW ??
I have a link on Omnia i920 site at MoDaCo
