hi guys, i have a sk-6688 keyboard that works fine on my old tungsten E. I downloaded the updated driver which support XDA II (i have XDAIIi) but i receive the message: irda is blocked by another program. I disabled the "incoming connection" from the connection settings menu as recommended by the user manual but it still doesn't work....any idea/suggestion? Thanks!

I have a bluetooth GPS reciever and i want to connect it on COM port 9 but in the bluetooth settings it only allows me to use 6 or 7, does anyone know how to change this?
Im using the HTC Vox if that makes a difference?
Thanks
When you say "Bluetooth settings" are you referring to the settings in the GPS software (TomTom, Garmin etc) or are you referring to the bluetooth settings in your phone settings?
When you first pair your device with the external bluetooth device, you need to set up and outgoing port (COM5 on a Himalaya, not sure what Vox would use) and also go to the advanced bluetooth settings and chose "serial connection". The com port should then appear in your GPS software bluetooth selection choices.
Let us know if this helps.
Ports :S
Thanks Jadel for the reply, i was referring to the bluetooth settings in the phone not gps software. i have paired it and and selected serial port and then it gives me a selection of ports to use: 6 or 7, but i already have things connecting to those ports and want to select another one to use? Any ideas?

the guide may not be using the latests wm version but still it should
give you a clear picture as to where on the PC you handle the activesync comports
rather then on the pda which dont use comports for activesync at all

Having problems connecting via bluetooth with diamond. I did it with my laptop. The diamond asks for a passcode. Inputting anything but blank comes up with an error. After accepting the incoming connection, it asks for another passcode, this time I can't input nothing, when I input something I get an error of incorrect passcode, if I click cancel, it doesn't type.
Any ideas?
Same problem here!
I connected a logitech dinovo mini with my diamond with no problem.. diamond ask a passkey, write with keyboard and then work...
sup guys..
I have a LG MS25, it's an american model of LG KS20.
At the firt time, when i tryed the IRXON keyboard I had this problem.. but then I start to look at the options and uncheck some bluetooth criptography and security parameters.. and it works!!
Now i digit the passcode and the connection is acepted.. but sometimes, when the passcode have a "zero" char it don't works.. but just sometimes.
I'm really glad that it worked, because i got it from eBay and spent R$130,00, (almost 50,00 United state dollars) because of the importation taxes of brazil..
bluetooth cryptography?
could you be more specific. You have an LG MS25, a windows mobile phone. Where did you find these settings to disable?
edit: i found a link explaining something about this, but I can't find the setting

Also, an update.
When presented with the passkey on the phone. I click next, then I must click the enter key on the phone. The phone than accepts the connection, but puts the keyboard in disconnected devices.
That's it.
I don't have any services listed under the "select services to use from this device" for the keyboard.
the problem is the bluetooth stack i think..
ms25 is the same of KS20.. widcomm bluetooth stack i think..
I've recently bought a HTC touch Viva (opal).. and I was havin problems to connect (never happens after input the key on keyboard) , and the bluetooth stack is that one from Microsoft.. so after some research i've decided to try the BlueInput 1.5 RC4.. it's not a freeware.. =/ but it works perfectly.. i think it'll work on diamond too!
First, I guess, my system setup. Just bought a new phone, and the old one (original HTC Touch) did not have this symptom, phone being the only thing changed.
2 different computers, both running XP Pro.
ActiveSync 4.5.0 (Build 5096) on both machines
HTC Touch Pro 2 (purchased with WM6.5 already installed)
Seems to be an intermittent issue, doesn't happen all the time and doesn't happen every time I connect the phone. Sometimes the phone will work perfectly for hours on end, then I'll notice I haven't gotten an SMS in a while. When I unplug the mini-USB cable, about 15 seconds later the notification'll go off & I've suddenly got a stack of new messages.
I've tried while using JUST the phone's SMS functions.
I've tried with two PC passthrough SMS programs (Jeyo MC & Raspberry TrueConnectSMS) that allow sending/recieving SMS messages directly from a program on the desktop.
The issue doesn't seem to have a trigger that I can isolate. It's happened in all three of the above test scenarios.
Suggestions anyone?
Right-click the Activesync icon in your system tray and select "Connection Settings" - you'll need to check "Allow wireless connections...." in order to allow the passthrough of data connections (where wireless equates to anything that isn't USB!!) for things such as SMS etc.
Hope that helps,
Mark.

Nope, that setting was already checked...and this is an intermittent issue. I would expect that setting to effect the problem all the time if that were the case. Thanks for the attempt though.
Hi,
I have just recently migrated my WM application from WM 6.1 to WM 6.5. The application all works OK apart from when I try to open up the serial port to connect to some Bluetooth hardware.
The hardware is paired to the WM device and I can connect to the device if I go to the Bluetooth settings and select connect. Thus proving I have the correct port number in my application (COM2).
However, when I try to connect to the hardware using the application, firstly I see a prompt from WM6.5 to select a connection Bluetooth shortcut. This is most annoying so is there a way of disabling this so that the application just connects to the specified COM port as it did when running on WM6.1. Secondly when I select the correct shortcut the application then throws an Argument Out of Range Exception with a message:
An error message is available for this exception but cannot be displayed because these messages are optional and are not currently installed on this device. Please install ‘NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab’ for Windows Mobile 5.0 and above or ‘NETCFv35.Messages.EN.cab’ for other platforms. Restart the application to see the message.
I have installed the 'NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab’ but this has not made any difference to providing a more useful error message.
All the parameters for Port initialization seem to be correct or at least what I would expect.
Any help would be most appreciated.
The hardware what the application is running on is a HTC HD2 mobile which is the same as what it previously ran (HTC HD) on albeit a faster processor, more memory etc.
Many Thanks.

OK, with a bit of Google'n I have found the answer. Drop the System.IO.Serial Port library and use the openNETCF.IO.Serial library from openNETcf. This works fine. Although I still haven't managed to prevent the annoying pop-up when you connect to the device. If anybody knows how to do this, let me know.
Andy
(MCTS).
Use the OpenNETCF.IO library, it works more transparently!
Andy, by using the OpenNETCF.IO library, did this prevent the annoying "please select a serial port connection shortcut to connect:" prompt from showing up for you?
I have been trying to get that from showing up, however, it just doesn't seem to want to cooperate.
Thanks,
Chris
No, unfortunately not, I believe this is a feature wrapped in the bluetooth driver. If anybody knows any different please post to this thread.
Hi, I got a wireless keyboard for christmas and I am having trouble setting it up.
it is bluetooth and i have successfully paired and connected them - i tested it on my macbook and it works fine on there so I know it isnt the keyboard.
Do I have to configure the input settings at all? Ive tried looking but cant see anything in the settings.
im using the latest prime rom with the oc kernel.
Ill try and find the link to the keyboard I got and update this post.
Any help is appreciated. Cheers!

I think it should work immediately after pairing up. What your bluetooth dialog says?
Hi, thanks for the reply. How do I view my bluetooth dialog?
Well, I was talking about the settings page of bluetooth devices:
- Settings / Networks / Bluetooth settings
There is a list of devices and it should say "connected" under your keyboard.
yes it does say connected. any other ideas?
