Unlocking MDA Compact

Anyone found a way yet to unlock the T-Mobile MDA Compact? Or will the XDA2UNLOCK tool be updated to unlock this puppy?

I read (I think on the Expansys forums) that the MDA Compact devices as sold in Germany (ie by nowicom) are SIM-lock free!

I have a Dutch MDA Compact, simlocked to T-Mobile :-( but with English OS

Then YOU have the Intellipad.cab and the Intellidialer.cab in English sitting in your ExtROM / Vdisk.
Could you post / mail those two?
Same questions for cprog.exe wich resides in the \windows folder . . .

You get access to the ExtROM /VDisk by after a hard-reset and just before the customisation starts soft-resetting the device.

PocketMe: cprog.exe is a rom prog and thus cant be extracted from the device . . .
Its the rom filesystem that makes this impossible . . .

Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to uninstall Intellipad.
Once I installed it I could no longer get any input method to take place other than trhe keyboard. The options for Intellipad and Calligrapher and Block Recopgnizer were ther but it would not change to them when you clicked on them.

If it's not listed in Settings > System > Remove Programs, I'd guess you'd need to hard reset. :?:

I also intend to buy a MDA Compact from T-Mobile Netherlands. You got the English one, didn't you?
I called to the T-Mobile Klant services today and they said they will send me the Dutch one.
I have no idea how it happens to the T-Mobile Netherlands.

hmm the Dutch one?? I don't think that's completely true. For instance, only a part of the menu is dutch, and there is so such thing as dutch T9 yet.
But... where does the unlock tool stay? 120 euro :shock: is to expensive

en easier to use it in english. Could someone help us to crack this simlock 8)

To be exact: There is no Dutch language PocketPC. All PocketPC's in the Netherlands are sold with an English operating system. So, the MDA Compact also comes with an Englsh Operating System.
Aside from that, I am not a developer or hacker, and I am not capable of cracking a simlock, sorry. I am also waiting for someone here to find the crack

i keep trying to upgrade my xda lli but it dosent work! ive even tryed thing where you press dpad,off/on and reset button. i'v try'd everything it just doesent work can enyone help me?

What happens if I flash a German Vario 3 with ATT Rom to the Keyboard layout?

Hi,
I have a German MDA Vario 3 (German - T-Mobile OS and German QWERTZ ÄÖÜ) and I need to flash it with an US/UK OS.
I assume after unlocking the CID I can flash the device with either the Generic HTC Rom or the AT&T Tilt Rom.
So far so good, but what happens to the German Keyboard Layout, this isn't the same as The Tilt or Genereic HTC Layout.
Any Ideas?

pls have a try this method:
in the path [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
change the "Curlang" data to 1031(Dec) or 407(Hex)
soft-reset~
if it doesnt work,pls tell me
i make a cab in case you havent a tool to edit registry
transfer the cab to kaiser and run it
softreset

oh mike,you are welcome
i suggest u to flash the rom with hspl v1,in my opinion that's much safer than sspl.so far i've seen some flash rom unsuccessfully with sspl
u can follow pof's thread to get the hspl
if u flash AT&T Tilt Rom i think ur output would be not the same with ur german keyboard,because the LCID isnt the german one
then u could use the cab to fix it !
hope it can help u, i install the cab and my TyTNII's layout switches to QWERTZ

One question, the cab you included in your post switches your QWERTY to QWERTZ, right?
But does it also switch QWERTZ to QWERTY (so back an fourth every time you install it?)

if yours is QWERTY originally,you patch the cab on your kaiser and after soft-reset that your keyboard output will become QWERTZ.
and of course u can remove the cab and give it a soft-reset,yours will be back to QWERTY.
in one word, this cab can only make your keyboard layout become QWERTZ,uninstall it,will become the original one.

and one more choice u can take~
if u want it QWERTY like the Tilt, patch with this cab
the Tilt's QWERTY differs with the ordinary QWERTY
the symbol "@" and the "!" r upside down,maybe u can find it comparing the Tilt's pics with others~

I got one more question for you, maybe to make myself a bit clearer.
I got the German T-Mobile Vario 3 (German Windows Mobile 6os and therefore a German Keyboard Layout (QWERTZ).
I want to give this device to someone in the US, he has an AT&T Sim card.
First question, what ROM works better for him:
AT&T Tilt Rom
or
HTC Original Rom
In any case, whatever ROM I flash the device with he will need a Keyboard patch applied.
Any answers ?

ok,i think u should flash the ATT rom for him.maybe ATT rom would fit him better,there r many ATT softwares in the rom.
that u dont need to install any keyboard patch,it would be QWERTY layout~
but the type on your keyboard wouldnt match the layout,if you want the keys match the layout,u can fix it with my cab in floor 2, up to u.

No thanks,after u flash the ATT ROM u need not to apply "Tilt QWERTYsheng's keyboard patch.cab" , and your device's layout is like a Tilt, but when u press the hard key "z"(between "t"and"u")on your keyboard it puts out "y",'cause your QWERTZ hard keyboard and Tile's keyboard are not the same,right?
and if you want to fix it ,u should apply the cab which i posted in floor 2,then while u press the hard key "z" (between "t"and"u"),your device puts out "z"

I flashed the AT&T Rom sucessfully, now in order to have the right keys assigned to the (hard-) keyboard I need to install: QWERTYsheng's keyboard patch.cab correct?

I turned it off completly and restarted it again, but the .cab doesnt seem to have an effect.

debrand vda v (htc s710 vox)

i am so confused and unhappy about my vda v (htc s710).
i look in the internet for debranding, normally i can debrand it with hardreset, after this, i do a softreset - but it doesn't work - so i am confused about it.
with my vpa compact 2 it works -> hardreset + softreset before installing d2-cabs, so i've had a debrand phone without vodafone settings, themes and so on.
i am confused, why it doesn't work with the vda v.
can anybody of you help me?
and can anybody tell me, how i can do a softreset? there is no hole, where i can put in the pencil, to do a softreset... so i am confused.
the first "softreset" - i don't know, if it's really a softreset - i have done by uncase the battery.. hm?

Touch Pro Hardware-Keyboard: How-to switch language?

First of all, SORRY for posting here, I know it´s not okay. But I simply can´t get any answer at all to my question.
I want to know how to switch back to german hw-kb layout after flashing a WWE ROM. I already tried a CAB, but it didn´t change all of the keys. And reassigning every single key with some tools is possible but just annoying.
What about extracting this from a Stock ROM ?
And in general, what about doing such CABs for all languages and make a Sticky Post, like done with all Stock packages?

It seems as Schap's Advanced Config changes another registry key which only applies to older devices.
The above worked for me, Elite RC3 ROM on a german HTC Raphael.

You can modify the hardware keyboard layout in this Registry Key:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD and change the value in the CurrLang attribute.
Go here http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-ch/goglobal/bb895996(en-us).aspx and find the desired value for your layout.

Would this tweak work for WM 6.5 hardware and software keyboard key mappings? At the moment I have official FR 6.1+2.1 on the phone (no cooped ROMs).
I want to download an English WM 6.5 ROM but keep the FR layout.

Its simple bro,Just Flash your desire rom and install This :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=490290 to set up keyboard for your device fuze or raphael...
Then change this key:HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\CurLang
CurLang=1036 (look out to be in decimal)
With you registry editor(im using CeRegEditor)
Then soft reset your device and you are ready...
Im using also Fr layout in my raphael...

hahahaha...Like it bro....:

It worked like a charm, all the keys are working, but I still have 2 things I would like to solve.
1) I would also like to have the soft keyboard changed from EN QWERTY to FR AZERTY
2) Is there a way to install the T9 dictionary for French too?
I have been searching for the .cab but I was not able to find one for WM6.5.
Any help would be appreciated.
