New Ramdisk + all 1.60c (96,64,32)

I've managed a new ramdisk for ours Himalaya under wm2005
Usage :
put the cab on your himalaya and run it
soft-reset
A new folder named "Storage" appears , this is the ramdisk .
You can install program or store datas(photo,notes,...) on it
On every soft-reset , all datas and programs are here
On hard-reset :
if "CleanRegistryValue" and "FormatStorage" are NO :
all datas and programs are here
if "CleanRegistryValue" and "FormatStorage" are YES :
the "Storage" folder don't apper anymore ....
BUT :
If you reinstall the ramdisk and soft-reset , "Storage" folder reappers and .... tadadaaaaam ... all datas are here !!!!!!!
program are here too but anable to function because some modules of them and links are not here because storage formatted ...
This ramdisk has only tested with Himalaya under 1.60c
Test-it and tell me if you like it

But if it's ramdisk,this means storing on RAMs,and RAMs are not persistent memory,so how comes data remains there after formatting storage!!!! :?
I guess that somehow(not sure!!),we are having like 96MB lets say of persistant memory(asuming that 32MB persistant of extrom+DOC,and 64 RAM disk)....it's not logic,but if it's true,then......GREAT

I'f you or anybody has a trick to get free ram on BA, its solved, i do not have information about those "2 bytes" of data for our rom to get the free ram

I don't have a blueangel , i can't help you ....

It is not in the registry.
You need to make a hardreset your device, like this:
*****
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.

Thanks Sascha for the clarification. In the meanwhile I was able to have my ramdisk 8)
I found it by chance: I installed (for the 10th-20th time...) , was called on the other phone so left my device on the desk. It turned off itself,so when I got it in my hands I made the soft reset ... and the ramdisk was there after the soft reset.
As I like to be sure of what is the reason for things I wanted to double check.
I hard resetted again, installed the ramdisk and softresetted without turning off first; no chance again, no matter how many times I tried.
Hard resetted again, installed ramdisk, turned the device off and then softresetted. The ramdisk was there again.
So it was not by chance, the trick for me is to turn the device off before softresetting :shock:
Maybe some of the coding/WM gurus can explain why [some sort of data caching...?] but this are the facts.
Hope this can help somebody else.

Go to www.buzzdev.net, into the download section.
There is a Himaupgrade_noID.exe, download and use it.
It jumps some checks and should work...

Can somebody explain how to install Ramdisk..

HI guys, if this really works, then it is very usefull. I have 2 questions (maybe stupid questions, because I am not that technical)
1) Is this ramdisk affected by the buzz tools (hima_doc_tool and hima_doc_restore)
2) I guess if you have 96 mb of new ram memory (or 32, 64) this memory has to come fom somewhere, where you have less memory?

This ramdisk driver is a very old story... well it was available before the full RAM on WM5... actually it was "the beginning" )
Read the whole RAMDisk story here.
RAMDisk is not affected by DOC Tools at all.
If you ask, where is the memory coming from, the answer is easy.
On Himalaya there is 128Mb RAM and 32Mb of DOC.
If you have flashed OS patched for less memory (e.g. 96/64/32), then do the simple math...
128 - 96 = 32 available to ramdisk
128 - 64 = 64 available to ramdisk
128 - 32 = 96 available to ramdisk
Of course you dont have to patch the OS for less memory, but then, once you fill the memory up to the address, where ramdisk starts, your device will hang. And if you don't patch, RAMDisk will not keep it's data across reboots.
DOC is originaly partitioned as 16Mb ExtROM and 14Mb Storage.
FAT0 on DOC is ExtROM and FAT1 is Storage. It is hardcoded in the OS, that it uses FAT1 for Storage.
DOC Tools are just resizing ExtROM(FAT0) to minimum, thus OS can use the rest(FAT1) of the DOC as Storage.

Is there any fix or any PIM compatible with WM2005? Anybody have any idea?

Try pocketbreeze from www.sbsh.net
It is not exactly a PIM sw, but a PIM "displayer", and much more. I use it daily with the default calendar and tasks sw and it is great. It has so many features that many users stopped using PI or AF, but it offers full integration with both of them.
The last beta is already wm5 compatible.

This is a ROM update package.

Any ideas what actually happens to the rom?
Extrom looks to me like blueberry is integrated; seems to be settings for austria though. Confirmations on that?

This ROM upgrade works fine for me too. But I haven't installed anything from the Ext_ROM yet (on purpose).

works also quite nicely on my device, i only installed the new Camera Program from the Ext Rom, nothin' else.

i have upgraded my i-mate pocket pc phone edition ( old model without keyboard ) which is i believe similer to Q2020 ??
anyway upgrade is completed succussfully thank god but when i go to memory staus it is showing the following :

i wonder if this correct or i have used the wrong file for upgrade

you must install the 64 version of Ramdisk, it will open the other memory block.
Remember, for the XDA2_WM2k5_1.70a.64.WWE you need that. that's what I did.

Could you please give me the RAMdisk file, was it the toflock file or buzz file? How about the procedures...thanks

Possible to set Hardware button to rotate to landscape view.

Sprite Backup on new rom
Hey, I love sprite backup and was bitterly dissapointed to find that it wouldn't run on the official WM 5.0 rom. I have since had to go back to my Xda 2. I upgraded the rom to find that sprite doesn't work again (no suprise). I download the upgrade version built for WM 2005 but that doesn't seem to work on this rom... any suggestions???

you have to install Sandisk Wi-Fi driver separately. I used the SDIO_WLAN_Sagem.exe driver and it works fine with 1.70a.96WWE ROM. This driver has no custom wireless utility, but wm2005 on works fine for me.

The Ramdisk is not working for me. I cannot install programs to my device as the memory is so low and i cannot unlock it! Any suggestions

I personally haven't found the 1.65 to 1.7x to be all that much cop - unstable and a lot of stuff not working

SDIO_WLAN_Sagem.exe driver do works now but it seems my SD WIFI card is warm after 10 mins of used. Do you have the same problem? Anyway the driver is for WM5 Smartphone..
Tested with I-TECH35 Bluetooth Stereo headphone... works very well without any pause at all !!!

Still operating very smoothly.
My current problem :
- Unable to sent my MMS eventhough all setting are being set correctly.
* Manage to sent MMS. Reconfigure the MMS setting manually
- Camera still have the rotation problem
* Use the Picture & Video as camera function. Map it the Camera button
- Set hardware button to rotate the screen.

Prophet AKU2.3 PDAMobiz ROM / MMS Composer

Hello,
i have installed the PDAMobiz 16 MB PagingPool Edition ROM. It is very great and fast but in Messaging are no MMS Options avaibel. I have tested a new installation of the rom, install the 12 MB Version ROM and install an other MP_Shortcut_MMS...cab but nothing help.
Can someone help me?
When i search on the storage for files with mms include in the name i find three files:
1 Windows\Help\MMS Composer.lnk
2 Windows\MMS Composer.htm
3 Windows\MMS Composer.lnk
When i open the third file i became an error:
The file ´MMS´ cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file.
Here are so much peaplo who use this PDAMobiz ROM´s, are all these dont use MMS? I have now searched two days for finding an answer for this problem and hope someone have an answer for me.

Your problem is really extrange, I download the last Dopod ROM aku2.3, 3 times and always I can see the MMS setings. ¿?
My problem; also very extrange, I tryed more than 10 times to instal the 2.15.0001 ROM and I can't, It CID unlock and so on. I'm going to be cracy.
Did you tryed to dwnload the ROM again? I mean, made a HR and try to install again.

I also don't have anymore MMS settings, after upgrading to AKU2.3 PDAmobiz G4...
I tried everything- didnt help.
anyone has clue? btw. AKU2.3 is very very fast but not usable if MMS doesnt work :-(

The zip file contains LED info from the kitchen posted above. I created the attached cab file using the zip which works on my spl. You will need to app unlock first. Test at your own risk.
Just found the reg values for WMP & IE keys. The WMP & IE keys are much more responsive using the reg fix over AE Button Plus. Worked for mine but use at your own risk.

mhan finally someone replied and gave me these nice fix...thanks mhan...
btw i still encounters some problems with alechy's rom:
1. it always hang when i access storage card thru file explorer and i only have 1gb minisd. i hope theres a fix for this.
2. typing on sms is too slow....could there be any tweak to make it faster or more responsive?
i believe the other roms are better but they are not fully in english.

I sent alechy a pm and email requesting an English version of G4WM6.1 ROM XIP 20202 faster and add SDHC support. alechy's previous 6.1 EN rom has easy to read font and is all English, and his newest CH rom has .net 3.5.
Let us hope alechy finds some time to do this for us.

yes that woulb be really great...im having a hard time looking for language pack like in a cab for easy installation...let us hope he will do it.

Connect to a PC for apps unlock using spl_ApplicationUnlock.exe and restart phone

I-Mate SPL SDHC Support Patch
THIS IS IT!!! Just had a coworker help me set up an account on it168.com. I tested the patch, and it worked with my 2gb Sandisk mini SD and 4gb A-Data micro SDHC with adapter. Enjoy!

I did a FAT - Format to my MiniSD with the adapter and that solved the problem... Hope it work for you.

That happened to me too, I thought it was fixed but if you try playing some files from the SD It will freeze your phone.

Two methods:
