Not to be critical of this wonderful website which is full of great resources but, I have noticed that the useful info is hard to find.
So I thought it might be a good idea to post all of my items in the one place so here goes.
I will update these as i go.
TIP
If you want the CAB Files in remain in your PPC after install simply change the files preferences to "Read Only"

3. Copying your “Extended ROM” Files before Big Storage
You need to copy the files from your “Extended ROM” before you go the Big Storage as you will need to install some of them after you’re finished, i.e. MMS etc. They will be deleted after the upgrade (and that’s the whole point).
a. To copy them from your Magician do a hard reset (push the power button and reset button at the same time).
b. Go through the screen alignment, time zone etc and get ready…….. when you reach the “Completed” screen it will ask you to “Tap your screen…. As soon as you tap the screen you get 3 sec to soft reset (push the reset button). If you miss it as I did just do a hard reset and try again.
c. After you do b. above go to the built in file explorer and under “My Device” you will now see the treasured “Extended_ROM” with all its files. Copy the directory straight to your SD Card then to your PC, keep them safe.
its just a bit easyer when you just fill in
go to windows folder on PPC and search loadvdisk.exe
run it and you will see your ext_rom (until you reset )
not to sure the usual file explorer can do this but Resco file explorer will find it

By the way, and i think these questions are more tricky, is there any way NOT to charge the battery while the phone is connected to the USB?
And while using the calling software, when inputing the nunbers, to make the sim card entries dissapear and only have the ones that are in the contacts? Because most of the times i have a double entry and it really makes me mad!

The way to NOT to charge the battarie is to make some changes to your cable - cut +5v from USB (or make a switch).

the tray launch only app.... theres now way to BROWSE for the program you want on the tray?

Once i install the camera & album to Storage how do i delete it from the \windows . Maybe not possible due to it being in ROM. In this case I end up with 2 camera software? So i'm curious what is the idea of installing in storage.

but my camera version was 2.70 (build 18727) and it is still the same. I reset the device but still didnt become build 2026.

Thanks a lot for your kind offer. I manage to pull up the files from the FTP using cuteFTP software. Some how my company laptop doesn't allow default browser connection....
My phone is O2 mini and has v.1.13 for both rom & radio. I think it's BigStorage (not sure though).
Any good advice for me? I mean anything at all....

If anything is there after a hard reset it must be in \Storage

change your splash-screen
Your splash screen isn't stored in storage. On my magician eg it is a separate part of the rom. You managed to change it once & I'm sure you can do the trick again. Just search the ftp for the cab which will flash your splash. If you kept a copy on your PC it's even more simple. And next time use an image that doesn't make you so embarrassed when you wanna sell your device

Then I drop that into my Windows Folder and use MDA3_bootimage_changer2.cab to apply the file. (Yes I'm using a Magician with this file!)
Soft reset and that's that. No need to do any cab file editing.

I use this method myself and it works great. Maybe for your device as well. In the same thread, 3rd sticky I belief, they mention an other tool as well.

Upgrade PDAMobiz Customized Rom for all IPL/SPL version

Note: This is a custom firmware but it is DEFINITELY the best and should have been a company of its own! Damned it isn't. It even lets your mono bluetooth headset listen to music!!!!!
ROM OF THE YEAR!!!
Since HTC issued new IPL/SPL version 2.xx.0001, all tools that we use to cook the customize rom to be a single nk.nbf file can not be used because nk.nbf structure are different from the previous version. We were trying to hard to solve the problem. Futunately, we found the new method that save and convenince, because it will not touch with bootloader. Just active sync prophet with pc then run UPGRADE_ROM.bat.
This method can be used with any version of IPL/SPL of SPV M600, Qtek S200, i-mate JAMin, Dopod 818 Pro, XDA neo. Need not to unlock CID.
DAMobiz Customized Rom can be download from here:

Step by step to upgrade rom
1. Backup all data in Prophet, then hard reset it. You can also use the method of Clear Storage in menu, Start -- Settings -- Clear Storage.
2. After Hard Reset, tap at the screen 1 time, and stop at Align Screen.
3. Plug usb cable at Prophet to start ActiveSync, then click at Cancel.
4. Prophet will connect with PC as Guest.
5. Go back to folder that you unrar (www.rarlab.com) then click at UPGRADE_ROM.bat.
Wait....
Wait.... It's now finished with extended rom, then the next is OS rom.
6. After finish, you may hard reset by press and hold at Camera and Voice Dial, then depress at reset. Still hold camera and voice dail until you get the screen as below:
Press at send to format, then it reboots.
At the buttom left, it shows "PDAMobiz.com" that is pdamobiz customized rom. To get all program of pdamobiz customized rom, you have to let extended rom program install until it complete.
PDAMobiz customized rom has only 3 Thailand operators, you may add your own file before upgrade rom to "extrom" PC folder and autoconfig.txt to have your own country autoconfig.

If during upgrading you have some problem, and it stuck at bootloader 3 colors screen. Just download below files, run upgrade rom with that file, after you can boot normally, you can upgrade this customized rom again, becuase this customize rom need active sync only.

More Notes - It has lots of nice software inside and basically makes you feel like its a fully loaded system and yet faster than ALL (Not just the last) Imate JamIn one. If you need my creditibility go to Imate jamin offiucial support forum (clubimate) and see my id shivam / shivamxp. Posted alot there before I dumped the Jamin Rom for this baby!

ps - forgot to same . the exntended rom is also unlocked by default, a nice set of media players that play almost everything in video n music - mp4, divx ,etc. It has a great file manager. Bluetooth headset can grab any programs music or video whether it be media player or real media or some other program. basically all sound from ur device can get forwarded to ur MONO bluetooth (now even regular bts without stereo can get great sound n music).

Man, i DONT want device to start with omapclock and god, feels like u r so Xcited 'bout this that seems like YOU made this Rom. If there's no rollback, i pass it out.

are the guys who made it ...PDAMOBIZ...but i used it and was shocked to see it just so d*** good.
Ive used Prophet and seen it suck up as bad as an O2mini (no offence HTC Mag guys)...i used to have a o2mini ..moved to this and definitely both are sucky (speed n feature) just the compactness. Seeing this new rom, everything that made my views so negative are gone EXCEPT i still want a bigger screen the real vga..
anyways, dont install it if you dont wanna...just dont blame me if two weeks later theres a big hype and you say i didnt listen cuz i was too over occupied or wanted to wait...you can wait all you want...you sure wont lose anything..youll just be delaying your gain.
Look im comparing this rom against the current Roms of "Imate" and IMHO this rocks..sure wait as much as you want, but then again a guy who made similar posts earlier (check my post logs) about Imate Software and support on the forums there sucking...well your choice.

for the person who use XDA Neo, don't use this rom now as before using this rom, it is neccessary to unkock CID first, but the programmer of this rom said that he still haven't known how to unlock CID for device that has IPL 2.15.0001 and SPL 2.15.0001.Fortunately, he said that in a couple days, he will have a solution for this problem (to help you unlock CID) and then you will be able to use this rom on xda neo.
I have not much knowledge about this pda phone. However, I am Thai so that why I can understand all the topic in the original link of this rom. So I just want to translate this point to you guy to prevent you from wasting your time and any harm that might happen to your device.
Anyway, this rom is very good rom, have evreything you want, help your mobile much faster than before, and will help you a lot, so wait until programmer has solution for CID then upload it.

Has anyone with a Qtek S200 tried this?
I want to take the plunge and I have done lots and lots of ROM mods and upgrades to my former Himalaya and a friend's Blue Angel, but I would love to know if there is some way to backup my original ROM beforehand.

Ist it possible not to install some of the included programs ? (like vxutil, Regeditor, CallFilter, image maker, calculator,opera and Realplayer of course ...)
Like deleting them from the extrom before upgrading?
Reason is, that i already use some nice programs that i got used to, and i dont want to waste some extra memory on programs i will most likely not need.
Edit: any way to change the omap clock Startup MHz ?

In order to avoid installing any unneeded software on the ExtROM, just Soft Reset just before they install after a Hard Reset.
Then you should go to the extended rom and manually install whatever apps you want by clicking on them.
Do you already downloaded this rom?
Can you please Upload it to the xda developers ftp?

Howdy Boys and Girls
Well I took the leap and installed the Rom described here, on a new Imate Jamin I bought last week down here in Australia.
The existing Rom on the Jamin was the latest from the Imate website.
"JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship"
First of all let me say that after upgrading to the Pdamobiz version, I was able to restore the Rom back to the original Imate version.
That should answer the questions of a few wondering if it's not all it's made out to be you can always go back to what you had.
Onto the new Rom.
The Jamin I have according to Omapclock runs at 180Mhz. With this Rom it was running at 240Mhz and I can tell you now this Rom is SLOW, very SLOW. With the original Imate Rom installed clocked to 240Mhz it screams along very nicely.
Some of the Apps installed with this Rom are also commercial versions requiring purchasing or "other ways around purchasing".
In fact come to think of it most of the apps were pretty ****ty and neither here nor there. Just my opinion expressed here.
Ultimately it's up to the individual preferences here and I'm certainly not taking anything away from the people who spent the time putting it together. It's a good effort.
In the end I installed it ... had a play with it for an hour or so ... dumped the Rom onto an SD card and restored the orginal Rom.
When I get around to it I'll install a few of the goodies like the A2DP stereo audio and the Extended Rom patch. They work

ok, i installed this (thx lvlx for the upload, that link was just agrhhhhhhh ), and for the most part, i agree with nudester. speed is ok, althought i was getting better/more stable operation with the latest dopod rom on which it is based when overclocked with omap clock. a lot of the utilities are on the rom, and not the extended rom which means u cant remove them, and to be honest, most are overkill, like the are about 4 different sim utilities, nevertheless, some are pretty damn good. however i just dont like havin stuff that i dont need/use.
PROS:
decent rom (stable and quick)
loads of cool utilities
downgradeable
good with storage memory
pre-configured with most of the registry edits for speed, gps, etc....
CONS:
some utilities/programs are trials/unregestered
most utilities/programs are built into the rom
overkill, i mean why do u need all that stuff anyways?

id rather have a clean oem rom that id play with myself and install what i want.
fair play to the guys at pdamobiz.com for creating it, coz it is good, and it gave me a lot of ideas, but it just wasnt my cup of tea 8)

Tmail.exe not opening??

Hi encountered this problem in WM6 Roms i dont know whats causing this and if there is any remedy besides hard reset which is a bummer. . .
i dont know the time frame but all of a sudden the messaging or tmail.exe application in my wizard does not want to open all of a sudden. it doesnt even have the wait indicator. . .
is there a solution to this? or anyone encountered this and might know the reason? im using xplore 1.1 by the way. great rom but i really wanna fix that problem. also note that i also expirienced this in most beutiful, muns, and faria.
hope someone can help me to find out why this is happening to avoid it or to have a fix.

first of all thanks for the great ROM man! Great Work.
i think that problem is a random thing. . i have cleared the storage and deleted the temp files manually and restored the backup i produced from SPB backup (it doesnt work the first time i tried it but since i will not take no for an answer!) it worked!
i keep my wizard shut for the whole day could this also be an added factor? ah well at least my wizard is ok again!
anichillus when can we expect an updated version? wondering what new tricks are waiting for us hehe.

My messaging app won't open on my Wizard either, just started a few hours ago. I'm running stock WM5.
I'd rather not hard reset, as I don't have backup software yet (I just got the phone a week ago)... did you ever figure out what the problem was? What temp files or registry settings can I check?

did you try to restart the phone? maybe some program just got stock?
I specifically deleted the Temp Folder for email attachment. . although i fixed mine i dont really have an idea on what went wrong. . . sorry i cannot directly help you.

Fortunately, I got things sorted out. Resetting wasn't solving anything, but I figured out that removing my memory card would fix the issue.
I have Outlook set to save attachments to the memory card. It looks like a file got corrupt or something, and was locking the program up. I deleted the folders from the card where attachments were stored, and things are working well again.
(This was after two hard resets and restores from Spb backup... gonna have to buy that program)

Read the forum a lot. there are a lot of tricks here to let you enjoy the full capacity of your phone. . . when well read try Windows Mobile 6 just need to read the instructions first.

I had this problem too on my HTC Touch ELFIN WM 6.0. The folder on SD card used for storing attachments got corrupted. Deleting the folder solved the problem. Removing the storage card would solve it too. This is because tmail.exe checks for storage card and because it doesnt find one it creates a new folder called "Storage Card" in the phone memory and uses that to store attachments. If you then put in your SD card that would become "Storage Card 2". Of course this means that all your shortcuts to stuff on SD card will be broken.

before i begin let me say this is not my own work i did not wright these apps/files ive simply put them all toghether in order to create an iphone theme for my T-Mobile Wing. if you ever recive a message from me charging you for this theme then ignore it completly.everything i am providing you is entirley freeware. the reason i am telling you this is because there sevral people out there right now selling this files/apps as there own, but there are also people outthere that actualy do make there own and sell them so dont get confused.

for thoes of you who dont have t-mobile or dont have myfaves. your gonna have to do some editing in the config file in order to change what it opens.ive also added a couple of icons in the icons folder so you can also change the myfaves icon.
in order for this to work properly with out having to do any editing to the config. everything must go into your storage card
unzip all the zip files attached to this email and then copy them to your windows mobile device.same goes with the cab. files.
once all the files and cabs are installed onto your device then you can run the iphone theme wich should be found in you storage card through file explorer hope this works for you,as it has for me.
sorry if the instalation instructions aren't great but they should be good enough in order to set up the theme for thoes of you who've done this kinda stuff wont even need the instructions

FOR THOES OF YOU WHO ARE GETTING INK. FILE NOT FOUND WHEN YOU OPEN ICONTACTS
some people have been messaging me that when they try open icontacts from the theme there getting ink. file not found to correct this youll have to do some copy and pasting
you must exit the iphone theme first before doing this and you can restart it once your done
first you have to replace the config file found in the iphone themes folder with the new one i have provided below. everything will be the same i have just done some simple editting wich should get icontacts to work.once this is done then just go to the part of the storage card were you have icontacts and copy it then go to my device and click the windows folder once there just paste the icontacts app and this should get it to work. if not then uninstall icontacts and just reinstall it to your device
for thoes who want to edit the config file themeselves and not download the one i have then simply replace the part in the config file that has this
\Storage Card\Program Files\icontact\icontact.exe
and replace it with this
\Windows\icontact.exe
but you will still need to do the copy and pasting steps above
hopefully this helps let me no if it doesnt

ok a lil something about icontacts this may or may not help some people but im posting it anyways if you start icontacs and it works but none of you name or numbers for your contacts apeer than you may have to transfer your contacts to your simcard or device itself im not sure right now wich one it is but try either one and it may help. im not sure if this goes for the newer versions of icontacs i havent used it yet so yea just a lil tip
ask around and im sure youll be able to get this theme running on your wing

i no longer own the wing and am now a proud owner of the mytouch 3g but there are still plenty of other tmobile wing users out there that would most likely be willing to lend a helping hand. just be sure to always do some reading and searching first.

is that ipod program in it? i never installed uPod but I did download it awhile ago. do we have to install that ourselves too?

the ipod that i had in my video was a trial version so i replaced that button to start slide2unlock instead

Oh, well I found the pPod and change that link to actually start the pPod program. Works great, love the icons!

Installation
Can someone post a word document on how to install these file on my wing? Also, would it be best to wait until myFav is turned on. I just purchased my wing and myFav isn't on yet.

when i click on the contacts icon it says .Ink file not found, if anybody else has the same problem, please reply. or if they can tell me where they put the icontact folder at.

i just finished putting it on and it is sweet hey thanx for the post im going to use this for sure, i think it runs better than when your useing wm6. Well any i do have one question were do you put the icontacts it said it cant find it when i click on the icon? But other than that like i said its cool lol

for this program at least for me anyways it doesnt matter were you put it i have mines on device and once installed you can open it from your programs
for thoes of you who may be using the t-mobile wing and find it kinda slow or slugish then i recomend using a program called battery status it overclocks your cpu in order to run faster i currently have mines clocked to 286 but i recommend you start at 247 first and then go from there like i said this is optional you dont need this in order for the iphone theme to work i just though id add it for thoes who may want it

how do you change the icons for it and how can you change the front picture of the lock screen?

for those having the problem with the icontacts , i figured out what the problem is. open the iphone folder and look for a document called "config". scroll about half way down to where it says \Storage Card\Program Files\icontact\icontact.exe.you have to capitalize the "c" in icontact. it should look like this .....\iContact\iContact.exe. i hope this helps. NOTE o not play arund with anything else in this document if you don't know what your doing.also i havethe file located in my storage card.

I can't download the zip files, and when is the slide2unlock going to be back for download. I just ordered my wing and should be getting it on friday so i wanted to know if anyone could help me with downlaoding the files
