Device dead due to XDA IIS ROM upgrade - General Topics

I was upgrading the ROM of my XDA IIS device through bluetooth connection as I had some problem with my usb cradle. Suddenly an interruption took place and the device became dead. The screen is now grey showing "Serial" at the top and ver. 2.07 at the bottom. Pls suggest me how to restore my device to normal operation.

bootloader problem ?

I have a mda compact which when the battery is inserted reads "serial v1:2"
nothing else happens unless the usb cable is conected then the screen changes to "usb 1.2". and the pc says unidentifiable device present and dosen't sync.
any help apriciated ! mda is other wise in as new condition.
The red led iluminating breifly when the usb is conected.
UPDATE
The mda compact was showing no indication of charging with just a red indicator from the led for 2seconds when the charger was pluged in.
When conected to the PC the screen changed from serial to usb, how ever would disconect after a while and was unable to conect to the mda via the usb as not recognised.
After leaving to charge for a night, with no indication of charging, the MDA did not then self disconect from the PC and so the battery must have been flat !
Was then able to down load the "1.13 T-Mobile rom" on to it from the upgrading link and now all is well.
Still don't know why it was stuck in bootloader mode ?

weird problem

This morning I tried to flash bikertibi's WM6.5 ROM.
In the middle of flashing, the connection was lost and now my phone is stuck in the tricolor bootloader screen.
the weird thing is that the screen keeps flashing? is like it keeps restarting every 15 seconds or so. So it can't retain a connection with my computer long enough for me to do anything.
when i take out the battery and leave it for a while before placing it back, it could hold the connection for a longer period of time (but not that long. probably for a minute?).
i can't figure out what is the problem. I've changed the USB cable and still no change. could it be the battery has problems or is it a hardware problem?
many thanks to anyone who could help (tho i'm not optimistic since this part of the forum seems quite dead)
well
Now...this is vry important ...... plz do at ur own risk...
remove the battery
Cut ur data cable (USB) and u'll find a white wire in da bundle of wires ... connect it to the battery plug near the camera
All the others , u connect to the last plug...(there are 6 plugs for putting battery...do not connect to the middle ones)
now connect the USB cable to ur "xp" pc.
the pc will recognize the device and start syncing...
run the rom u want AFTER COMLETING SYNC ... It is sure to succeed ...
plz if any thing happend let me know

I losted a lot of times comm upgrading Roms and NOTHING HAPPENS! (sorry for screaming...) Try to search some info at forums but....
-Try to close your upgrading soft (PC)
-Switch off-on your phone
-Connect usb cable again and try to upgrade now.
(maybe it refuses 2 or 3 times the upgrading, but I was trying and after 4 times it was like ever!)
Please, make it as your own risk.
Good luck friend!!
I have same Problem PLease Help
Have S200 G3 in Tri Color screen that gets to 50% on ROM load before it starts shutting off n on. It does the same thing if it is plugged into a pc via usb cable w/ battery installed after a short period of time.
It does not turn off n on it it is simply sitting there w/ the battery installed. Only when it is plugged in w/ a USB.
Does some 1 have access to info on phone recovery via flash card and Rom that I can use.
If not steps on resolving the problem long enough to load a basic Rom on the unit.

Provide better break down, if possible w pics of actual steps. Ex. I don'd understand what you mean about the white wire and middle conectors in battery section. Only allow the other 2 to connect or ???

[q] help me. Usb!

i rencetly bought the htc touch pro but when i connect trough usb on pc the pc does not reconize. it's not showing nothing on phone i try severel usb's and diferent pc's with diferent operating system. the phone charges but it not recognize. i only can syncronize trouhg bluetooh.
i did all the step's i find in the forum and in the internet. and i'm getting the same results.
Please anyone can help me ???? tnks.
Sory for my english.
Are you running stock or a custom ROM? I haven't had that issue(yet) but I am trying to help troubleshoot.
viBranZeOS-2.0-WWE this is the rom that i'm using. and i try alredy 2 other roms, and its the same.
I honestly have no idea what the issue is nor a fix/work-around. However, what I am attempting to deduce is if you had a stock ROM I wouldn't be of much assistance because I only run the ROM in my sig/signature, which is a custom ROM. Now, I'm not 100% on if your ROM has this option but I know the ROM in my sig has an option to change the behavior of the USB connection, from mass storage to active sync. What I am attempting to figure out is if one of those modes has been enabled and the registry is just not accepting or if the usb port is stuck on only charging. I have no clue on how you would find out as I've never heard of that ROM. By the way, what version of TP do you have, GSM or CDMA and is it a RAPH100, RAPH110 or what ever is showing above the imei behind the battery. You should see a bar code and just above that are four (4) letters followed by three (3) numbers. Let us know what you have and maybe someone else can chime in.
EnergyROM 29018 w/CHT2.0&.sencity this is your rom ??? i can give it a try. how can i see if is GSM or CDMA ???? my phone is RAPH100.
tnks in advance.
p.s i'v had the phone charging for 2 hours and it's only 2 risks. :s
Clarification: It's not my ROM but it is a ROM that I use most often. GSM/CDMA depends on your carrier/service provider. Looks like you may have a GSM device but I'm not a 100%.
Additionally, what happens when you turn off(shut down your phone completely) and charge?
well i'm using vodafone. and the phone is unlock from factory. it was that the guy told me. i am giving a try with that rom. whit the phone shut down and usb turn on the home buton stay's whit the light. i'n the 3 color screen when i conect the usb it's allways saying serial and don't change to usb.
Not exactly sure that is what I am asking. So do this for me: remove the battery, then put it back in and without turning on the device, plug in your phone to a charger(not USB cable) and tell me if you see an LED circle around the center button slowly light up and then disappear.
yes is that what it happens. and it happens this to with the usb plug in. whit the phone on or off.
So let me guess here, does it still take forever to charge from 30% and still get hot when the device is completely off and plugged in. If so, it still seems like it could be a battery issue to me. I don't know how to confirm if it is the device or the battery but I'd start there if you haven't already.
Additionally, if you are getting to the multicolor screen, then connecting the device to your computer and not seeing the change from Serial to USB and you've already tried changing the USB port, USB cable and computer then it is possible that your device's USB port is somehow broken(for the lack of a better word).

you are right i go the multicolor screen and not change from serial to usb. but i didn't try in other computers. i will tell you when i try.

Need help with Samsung Moment 2.1 update

I am having problems updating from 1.5 to 2.1. I downloaded the SamsungMoment_Update_MR4.exe from Sprint's website and follow their guide. But on the SW Upgrade when I get to the software download part, nothing happens. It just sits there. On the bottom right of the SW Upgrade app it shows "detecting port" and on the bottom right it shows "disconnected". I am using a universal usb cable so I dont know if that matters or not but I am able to charge the phone with it connecting to the pc. Also when I plug the universal cable with the phone to the pc I hear the beep sound that the pc detects it. But the phone is not listed under device manager.....Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] PC Connection via USB Cable

Dear Folk,
I bought a brand new Nexus S and it is bugging when connecting to my computer (WinXP, SP2). I mean when allowing debugging, clicking on the connection icon to activate the USB connection, it switches to the next screen with orange Android icon but straight away, it comes back to the invite screen with the green Android icon as picture attached.
I've done many forums before writting you and most of them where talking about drivers or rooting phone which I don't want yet. Seems drivers are good as when plugging, I hear the sound from my pc and icon is recognized as 'Android phone'.
Anyone can help me, please ? Let me know if more info is needed from my side.
Cheers,

Check whether there is something wrong with your computer. Try using PDAnet software for installing the driver again.
Still have issues do a factory reset.
Settings-->Privacy-->Factory data reset.
Thanks saranyan !
I did the factory reset and was still not working properly even with PDANet installed. Suddenly I had a light and changed the USB port ... plugged my phone on the back PC ... it was working fine like magic !!!
Anyway, thanks for having answered me. Topic can be closed !
