With Windows Mobile 6, internet sharing should already be part of the rom
However. Otherwise it's Modem Link, which in wm5 you'd setup via the laptop as it's seen as a serial port.
I've found with wm6 roms and the built in internet sharing you can also use a program called Wifirouter, lets it become an 802.11 access point.
No link as i'm too lazy to find ti for ya, but you search forums and you'll find a few refrences to wifirouter
Are there any software that allows me to share WIFI internet? I'm having trouble with my pc WIFI... I'm currently using "internet sharing", but it only allows me to share WAP....

sort of... to give a back ground info, my university uses somesort of software to check if my pc is updated, but because I'm using work pc, the software gives me an error message.... Pocket PC can bypass the software check, so, I'm wondering if there is a cab that allows me to go on internet through ppc so that I don't get the stupid update check.

I think you should share the connection of Internet to the Wifi network interface on your PC, not on your PDA.
Isn't this what you are after???

Hi!
is it possible to get internet on my phone (desire) by connecting it to a laptop connected to the internet
Turn your Notebook into a wireless hotspot
www connectify me (with dots) (sorry But I cant post links yet)
This is a great free product but only for windows 7.
There maybe one around for XP but I dont know
If you connect your laptop to the internet by ethernet or a 3g Dongle then the wirelss can act as a full blown secure hotspot.
Simple and it works what more can I say
What Operating System did you use in your computer??
If it is windows Vista or Windows 7,
you can create a WiFi AdHoc connection via windows
Windows 7. Any tutorials?
Thanx a lot.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Well that just sounds super sweet I will give it a shot thank you.

Yep Yep and Yep ---
but you need the Professional version of 7. Its locked up in the Home Edition. Its about a $90 upgrade but hey --- it beats getting busted for wardriving in the office!
People actually pay for microsoft software products?
Before you tell me to go away "newbie" or point me to the search function, I've searched everywhere here and google. I've found little. I'm a total newbie. Heck, I'm just a 2 year old girl. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bump..........
You can't.
WinMo 6 can share via USB or Bluetooth using protocols that neither of which are supported on Honeycomb.
Sorry buddy.
Edit: See below. If your phone supports Wi-Fi tethering than you're (maybe) golden.

My HTC HD2 with WinMo 6.5 has a Wi-Fi router option in the system page(accessed via the Windows symbol button). I've used it to access the internet from an ASUS notebook, I'm hoping to use the same thing when my Transformer arrives. It should just be like using any other wireless access point.
you can check out a vid I did awhile back. It may help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFHDVrtp9-E
I won't even call you a newbie...
