With Windows Mobile 6, internet sharing should already be part of the rom
However. Otherwise it's Modem Link, which in wm5 you'd setup via the laptop as it's seen as a serial port.
I've found with wm6 roms and the built in internet sharing you can also use a program called Wifirouter, lets it become an 802.11 access point.
No link as i'm too lazy to find ti for ya, but you search forums and you'll find a few refrences to wifirouter
Hi Everyone!
A friend of mine was showing me on his iPhone that he could basically set his phone up as a file server which he could access using a pc. Basically the phone was a wireless hard drive.
Is there anything similar for windows mobile? As this would be extremly useful for me.
Cheers

Cool. That works like I want.. is there anything that would work over my 3G connection rather than WiFi though?
Thanks!

It works through your 3G if you combine it with Hamachi
Hi there
I was wondering if there's a way to emulate another mac address instead of using the default mac of the NIC integrated in the TP. Tried finding sth in my TP's registry and also googled up with no success.
Any suggestion?

Sorry for being nosy, but WHY do you want to do this? I can't come up with one good reason to do it. And I am not trying to flame you either.
My university's wlan filters devices by mac address, and I can register only one device to the network. This means no wifi on my TP but only on my PC, unless I register to the network with my TP data and emulate it's mac address on my PC .

Oh ok. Makes sense hehehe.
Try a different ROM and then try those tweaks? Maybe that works.

If your internet connected pc has a wifi adaptor you can set up a network that the X10 can connect to.
Use virtual router or connectify on windows 7 and set up a hotspot, but your laptops wifi chip should be supported by these apps... if it doesnt then bad luck...!

Use Easy Tether Pro,

Just u have to download a Easy Tether Pro pc client.

edit: I got it: I have to create a hotspot without router on my laptop which has wifi (but connected through cable), right ?
EDIT2: I have set up a wifi network ad hoc, but it's not recognized by android, someone can help ?
bzeek uses ad hoc connection not compatible with android

Are you using windows 7 by chance? If so, Connectify may work.

thanks, but it's made for windows 7 and ad-hoc is really insecure, this is why we ask for a solution through usb, I could buy a cheap wifi router though.
