exec car charger - General Topics

Anyone know of an exec car charger.
Not one with the kit so i assume they are not widely available.
Rav

They are very widely available as they are not exclusive to the Exec.
You just need a Car Cigarette - USB adapter. These have been available for a long time for lots of equipment that use the USB leads to charge from. Then you use the standard USB lead that came with your exec or buy another.
In the UK they are around 3 - 8 pounds depending on retailer.
Expansys do on for just over 5
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=EXP_USB-CLA
They also do a combo with the USB lead aswell

Hope this helps.

thanks
i'll get one of them

Haicom HI-203e / XDA2 Cable for Tomtom

Hi,
title says it all really... I damaged my cable. As I still have the Haicom receiver, I still want to use it.
I can't find this cable anywhere.
The cable in question is the in car charger cable for the XDA/XDA2 but also connects the GPS receiver to the XDA. The connection to the Haicom HI-203e is a PS/2 connector (same as older mouse or keyboard).
If anyone knows where I can get one of the in the UK i'd appreciate it if you could let me know where.....
XDA2 is a cool tool...

tried it...
Thanks Swifty.
Tried to do this but used a incar charger instead of the car kit.
Didn't work.
The HI-203e was getting power but not enough...
I think the resistor in the car charger must be bigger than the one in the proper cable...
And, I have also tried to find this cable on Ebay...
Impossible, if anyone does find one tho let me know.
I have scoured the Internet trying to find this cable with NO joy...
Sno
phone up GPS systems and ask......
Sno, you can always grab a universal incar ciggy adaptor from maplin or similar, they are only £7 then just set the dial to 5Volts (or whatever the 203 needs) then put the + and - cables onto the cable you made, obviously you will need a ciggy lighter splitter for your car, so that you can use your charge cable, and gps @ the same time. Or grab yourself a female lighter socket and cable it upto your battery..
..got it...
managed to find it @

Power adapter compatibility

I ordered and received my TC from Clove Technology (UK) since it is still not available in my country (Slovenia). Now to the problem - the power adapter which arrived with it is UK type which is not compatible with continental electric outlets. Since TC is still not available here, I can't buy a spare one, but I can get it for Tytn II (Kaiser) or Touch/Touch Dual.
Can anyone confirm that they are compatible and I can safely use it for charging my TC? So far I survive with USB charging.
Thanks
Power adapter - plug converter
Maybe you just need a power plug UK to EU converter. Here, in Serbia it's just a few hundred Dinars (approx 2-3 EUR)
(or simply charge from USB)
Chinese have power plugs compatible with the whole world - checked out.
I received a UK power plug with my TC and swapped it for the US one that I used for my Tilt (Kaiser). I also kept and use the USB cable from the Tilt for the TC. I've had no problems with either - as long as they fit (miniUSB on one end, power plug or USB on the other) they should be fine.

Australian Power Plug

I'm buying one from Clove but it seems to come with a European Plug. I know the HTC power adapter is (in a sense) universal in that the wall part can be interchanged (like on the iPhone). Where can I buy an Australian Wall Plug? I don't think it'll need to be specifically for the Desire as all HTC phones appear to come with the same power plug...
The charger socket on the Desire is MicroUSB. I also live in Oz and will probably just get a mini-micro USB adapter so that I can use any of the 2000 mini USB adapters I have collected over the years
I have also ordered mine from Clove. PM me if you hear any updates.
Edit: only 26.5 hours to go now
I'm also in the same boat, having ordered from Clove.
Maybe something might appear here: http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_phonecat.aspx?i=196001&c=14
Keep us posted if you find anything, as will I.

Yea that seems like the best idea if the Australian Port won't be available. It would be nicest to be able to use the much better designed HTC plug though...

New Zealand interchangeable plug adaptors

Hi
I'm looking for an NZ plug for the HTC USB charger.
I know I can use a UK - NZ adapter, but I was hoping to find a 'slot in' NZ adapter to use with my existing USB Plug ( as supplied by HTC)
They sell the full travel pack here:
http://www.htcdirect.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_8&products_id=765
Which includes the NZ head, but it's £29.95 !!
If anyone has one they want to sell, please let me know
Any Ideas ?
Thanks
Just found my tomtom main / usb charger that I bought in NZ..
Comes with US, UK, AUS/NZ & Euro plugs and cost me £15.00
Spec is: output 5v - 1.0A
I presume this should work as it's the same out out as the HTC.
This is available for £7.97 here:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tomtom-4A00-182-5A00-081-A05T2-05MU-USB-Wall-Charger-/310157216511
You would need a USB / Micro SB cable.
Can some one please confirm this will work !!
I'd hate to damage my new desire
Thanks
I also had a charger marked 5v and 1 amp - works fine.

AC Adapter B250

Quick question.
After I got my HTC replaced due to pink screen, I got the new one and the AC adapter that came on the pack was no longer the TC P300 but a small TC B250. Does any one recognizes this and why the pack are being shipped with dif adapter?
I am waiting on HTC reply. Because there is nothing on the webpage or their support know nothing about existence of this adapter.
I think the new AC adapter TC B250 is now standard issue with UK Desires. I got one with my Desire from Handtec but they didn't supply any the actual UK plug (or any plug) with it!
Yep, apparently only to UK Ireland their shipping those adapters. I am trying to get a foretold explanation from HTC so I can update the post.
You mentioned you no plug at all... did they replace the adapter or how did you sort it?
When charging your phone have you notice any issues that of you charge overnight when you unplug it on the morning the battery has 5% off the 100% with np usage?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
thanks for the reply. I am discussing this issue with handtec at the moment. at this stage I would say they are skeptical. I can't comment about the charging performance as I can't use it without a plug!
makes sense
Let's us know about how its going you case. I believe there is no much information about this new adapter. I am still trying to get a product reference or description off HTC but they don't seem to have it. On the accessories page on HTC website I can't find any mention to such model, either in european website neither in the US one..
Here is HTC reply:
" Hello, Thank you for your reply, The device itself is UK specific which is why it came with a UK charger. We cannot change it for an EU one, sorry but you can contact with your retailer. Please do not hesitate to contact us again if required. Thank you for contacting HTC.
Hi Larbac, I thought I would give you an update. Handtec sent me a replacement charger but it is the old style one with the trapeziodal housing. So maybe in time I can find a 3 pin plug for the TC B250 on ebay but until then it will gather dust.

Interesting, as it looks like there are no information about this adapter and whenever you complain the ones they replace with are the old TC P300. That's weird this situation... somewhere, someone is packing this adapter into the phone boxing and this must be recognized somewhere... I just don't know how...
When I complained near my provider and they would like to give me an adapter they had in store. some they normally use for their own phones. So I kept mine.
thanks for update
Some news...
for the first time I see this adapter on the web. Some one is selling them on UK.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-H...PDACharger&hash=item4150951f7e#ht_1501wt_1137
Apart from this my contact with HTC ended on a phone call where they offered me a new charger. I think they though the all purpose was to have and european plug.. While I wanted to know if I can get adapters... Now I have to carry 2 adapters arround..
But the charger they gave me is from previous, older HTC models with USB connection and a micro USB adapter...
I am just tired and I am not continue on the conversation about this issue...
Can you get USA and European two-pin plug tops for the B250 charger? I can't see them anywhere, so why make it 110/240V 50/60Hz if there's only the included UK 3-pin head? The extra cost of including the other two with the phone would be pennies.

As far as I am aware those plugs do not exist. At least I could not find them. And when I queried HTC about they simply post me an adapter from old HTC with an USB 2 MicroUSB adapter.
Did anyone find a place where they sell only the plug? If someone wants to trade a UK plug for a EU plug, hit me up.
It's really stupid to buy a new charger when we could simply change the plug..
