Apologies if I come accross as an idiot but am new here and just learning. On the issue of WM 2005 for XDAII - am I correct in the belief that no XDA II's have been released officially with WM2005 and that it's not officially supported for XDAII, or no?
You guessed correct guesswest..
No official XDA 2 WM5, but buzz has done an excellent copy that works on the 2, available on his website, be warned though there are issues with some programs such as TTN5.

Since HTC has let us know that it will not roll out WM6.0 ROM's for currently devices running 5.0. I think HTC doens't agree with "Let's pray" but wants to hear you say: "Let's pay..".
I have heard that the Treo 750 is going to get an upgrade to WM6.0. But this is a Palm device, and not a device comming from HTC.

yes, even if it doesnt come out specifically for the s200, there are other ti omap 200mhz devices out there like the s200 that have just come out. correct me if im not mistaken, but it would then be easier to dump a custom rom for the prophet then?
A guy from UK who claims to be official "Orange phone trainer" (Orange is a mobile operator in UK) claims that Orange Academy both Microsoft trainer and Orange employees were claiming that ROM upgrade for Orange SPV M500 Pocket PC phone (also for C550 smartphone) is coming.
If this would happen, then also users of other HTC Magician phones (like i-mate JAM, T-Mobile MDA Compact, Vodafone VPA Compact, Qtek S100, etc):
... would also be able to upgrade to Windows Mobile 5.0!
as posted under the smartphone main section, I was at the Orange Academy today. Good news to come from the event is that Microsoft and Orange are currently busy preparing a WM5 upgrade for both the C550 and the M500!
We were obviously told not to tell the general public, as they want us to push the C600 and the M5000, but for existing owners, this is fantastic news
I own an M500 and he was blatantly waving one around in front of my eyes saying "Both these devices will have WM5 on them in the coming months..."
So god knows.. he did seem to know what he was talking about tho, being a MS Trainer and all.

I believe this rumour came out about a year ago from another forum, and still nothing. i will see it when i believe it.
Don't think it's going to happen. The only way that this device will get WM5 is if someone cooks a successful rom.

im pretty sure that this is an MDA Compact II or the HTC Charmer and not a magician, because i find it illogical that a telco will still produce a rom upgrade for a very old device which no retailer is selling anymore, and while i still entertain the thought that it may be an unofficial WM5 Rom, still, i would doubt it. Such a rom would have been posted already here.

Come on now, I have been reading WM5 posts for Magician from a year. Fed up now. Magician is a very old device. Dont think there will be a WM5 for it. Even WM6 is released long back. So if Magician had to have a WM5, it would have come out long back.
Why dont you guys try to load Google's Android on Magician. Would be much better

MS presented on WMC 2009, that in 2nd half of 2009 it will be distributed among manufacturers. First WM 6.5 should be on market in beginning of Q4 (october). But, it might be delayed.
we have 6.5 ROMS for other phones (Pocket PCs).. when will smartphones get it?
Once the standard version leaks somewhere! If you find it somewhere, just post it, I'll try to port it!
BTW: I'll upload a multi-language 6.1 Neo ROM soon!

if im not mistaken, it was said that they would ship out mobilephones with 6.5 in time for christmas, so maybe a little sooner ( a month or maybe more) for a plain upgradre/update?

Upgrade to 6.5 will be same as flashing a new ROM.
All gone, your device is again like a virgin, just as it was when you bought it.
I heard should be in Dec 2009, maybe early Dec.

In regards with Windows Mobile 6.5 it will only be avaliable in October World Wide . Is not advisable to download the XDA Rom because you will lose the warranty of the device .
