What are the error messages? Are you sure that your GPRS and MMS are activated by Smart?
Cheers

Hi.
I am an absolute newbie for a WM Device. I just got my HTC s710 two days ago.
Can anyone help me with a step-by-step setting for Vodafone Live settings ?
I use the network wizard but the settings don't work. Not been able to find anything on Google either.
I open IE n can only browse the default favourites. Cannot download anything either.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
I had a problem here in Germay to, but after my first try Vodafone sent me a text message. I don't know if this works for you, but maybe it will. Go to settings-> connetions->GPRS->Vodafone Internet and change Acces Point to event.vodafone.(what ever india has, here it's de) Then try again!
the connection setup wizard does work for vodafone in India.
try that.
It configures everything.
EDIT:
sorry i didn't notice that you have already tried that.

Hi!
I'm using Hutch-WAP for data-usage on my Vox, since Vodafone Live settings dont seem to work on this smartphone.
You might have got the Hutch GPRS and WAP settings in Connection Settings after running the network wizard.
Just check, Hutch-WAP settings should be:
Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: portalnmms
Rest settings are default.
Then, in Phone Settings>Connections,Select Proxy and edit the Hutch-WAP Proxy.
Connects from: WAP network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy(name : port): 10.10.1.100:9401
Type: HTTP
In Connections>Menu>Advanced,
Select:
Internet Connection: Hutch-WAP
Work Connection: Automatic
WAP connection: Hutch-WAP
Secure WAP: Auto.
Then in Internet Explorer, Menu>Tools>Options>Connections:
Check Automatically detect settings.
Select Network: The Internet
These settings work fine for me, you can try and let me know.

i really dont understand why Vodafone Live wont work on a WM device.... works like a charm on Symbian S60 n UIQ .... and the best part is Vodafone Live is free !!!
@phreaker18,
yes, even I don't understand why it doesnt work fine with out of the box settings, and till someone comes out with the correct answer, we have to use workarounds.
It does work great with Symbian, i checked my SIM in a NOKIA, and Vodafone Live worked without modifying any settings.
And Vodafone Live is NOT FREE, its just that it doesnt have any rental, but you are charged for data transfer.

Hi,
I know there are cabs available for storing and reinstalling cingular MMS settings -- particularly useful - for those of us who are getting infected with frequent flash and reflashing - at least, it saves time from having to enter those settings all over again.
I am on the old ATT legacy plan that still uses mMode connections. I want to be able to save these settings in a cab or other format so that I can store it on my SD card and restore it whenever I flash and reflash my system.
How do you make such cabs?
rgds, MannyNoela
Please search next time.
Moderator -- thanks very much. I searched using the "mMode" as search term (since the mMode settings are slightly different from the regular ATT settings).
Anyhow, I installed the cab but it didn't work. As indicated, those of us on ATT Legacy (old) plans do not use the MediaNet different settings, but instead use the mMode settings, which are outlined below. I will like to write these as cab file, and would appreciate any help necessary in doing so.
Internet Connection Settings for ATT Legacy (mMode) Plans
Tap Start.
Tap Settings.
Tap the Connections tab.
Tap the Connections icon.
Tap the Tasks tab.
Tap Edit my proxy server.
Verify settings:
Check "This network connects to the Internet."
Check "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet".
Proxy Server: 10.250.250.54
Click Advanced.
Verify settings:
HTTP Server: 10.250.250.54 port: 8080
WAP Server: 10.250.250.54 port: 8080
Secure WAP Server: Blank port: 9203
Socks Server: 127.0.0.1 port: 1080
Type: Socks 4
Tap OK twice.
Tap the Advanced tab.
Tap Select Networks.
Choose "GPRS Connection" from the dropdown bar.
Note: If "GPRS Connection" doesn't appear as an option:
Tap New.
Input "GPRS connection".
Tap the Proxy settings tab.
Input "10.250.250.54" in the Proxy server field.
Tap Ok.
Tap Ok twice.

Hope that helps
Thanks for all that mate, however for some reason i dont get the "Connects to: o2 Active" option, i only have The Internet, Orange MMS, Secure WAP network, WAP network, and Work. They are my only options in the list i can choose.
Shall i delete or the Orange related settings?? Maybe this will help?
Also under the SMS Service option it asks SMS over: GSM preferred or GPRS?
Although my SMS are coming through no problems, but would this affect MMS?
Ok edit - MMS seems to be now working since i deleted all the orange connections, but still cant browse the internet so which settings affect this directly?

Have you ran the connection set-up program? That will put the o2 active options in, then you change the settings to what I have listed.
ah ok great, keep forgetting to do it once i get home. will do it tonight
thanks again for your help
mmm i just tried running that setup file on the handset, and after i selct where to install it to, i get an error "installation was unsuccessful. The program or settings cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions"
Ideas?
It sounds like your handset is still application locked, and you need to unlock it to install non-verified software. I don't have a link on how to do it at the moment, have a search for SDA_ApplicationUnlock on here.
