My I mate JAM making HARDREST always - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

I have a strange problem for 2 days The JAM HardReset Itself when i press power bottom or keiep it for around hour
I try to flash the rom 1.12 several times and i still have the problem
any idea please
I Mate JAM
ROM 1.12

Make sure your power button hasn't become jammed in some way. Also be sure to only press the reset button with the stylus for a few seconds in order to conduct a soft reset. The reset button could also be jammed.
What do you mean by "keep it around hour"?

Thank you for reply

1. After you install a fresh ROM, don't install anything else.
2. Remove the battery lid and make sure everything looks ok (there's a power button in there, reacting when you remove the lid).
3. Remove the SIM card and refit the lid, making sure it is 100% into place.
4. Pull the SD card and power up your device.
If you still have problems, chances are that it's hardware related and you will need the help of a service centre.
Good luck!

My JAM is second hand I open it and find a liquid probem I bought a cleaning spray I cleaned it
NOW It's working very will
Thank you HBK and Triband81 very much for reply

Good to hear that you were able to track down that problem .
Enjoy your PPC

Remember, you'll erase all your data. Remove the SD card and Press and hold the camara and common manager buttons at the same time, then put the stylus into the hold close to the USB connection. Still hold the mentioned button, when a dark screen become, it going to said to restore, push the green button you used to answer a call.
Your device become as factory.

Alternative hard reset
Hello mate,
You say your screen isn't working but can you still use the keys and scroll wheel to navigate around the software?
If so, open the start menu and navigate to 'settings', 'system' and select 'clear storage'.
Make sure that you've removed your SD card before you do this.
It will perform a hard reset for you.
Lom
I'll try it but I think it asks you to input 1234, which I can't do without the keypad working!
Yes you do have to enter 1234 so I am totally stuck and ready to try the big hammer reset.
Can anyone help?
alternative!!
use my mobiler
this application will let u use ur ppc thru ur pc
i mean u can share n control ur ppc screen thru desktop
link
http://www.mtux.com/
Cheers Mate!
Tried what you suggested but i got a message on the screen with a yes no box to install and couldn't get the button to operate using the wheel or any hardware key!
I've put my sim card in my magician and I think I may have to send the polaris back. Bet they'll say its my fault and will want paying to fix it.
I'm going to try leaving the battery out for a while to see if that will "force" a hard reset. I know I havent bashed it as it stopped working just after a phone call which is why I think hard resetting will sort it.
Tried your suggestion on my magician: nice bit of software!
The hard reset prompt is done by the bootloader, no installed software can affect it, simply because it isn't loaded yet.
Anyway, for the unlikely case of the digitizer hardware not being reset by bootloader, try removing the battery instead of pressing the reset button. Yes, thats right, remove the battery while the unit is operating, as rude as it sounds, and reinsert it while holding the GPS + Internet buttons.
It will, of course, prompt you to enter the 1234, but the touch screen should be initialized by the bootloader. If it still wont work - RMA the unit, your digitizer is faulty.
It still wouldnt hard reset so it probably is a hardware fault. looks like its going back.
Anyone else had a similar issue?:
Sent it back to HTC in Milton Keynes where thet diagnosed a duff touchscreen and replaced it under warranty. The service was very fast and hassle free. Well done HTC!
First thing I did after sprite restore (they reload with a fresh ROM) was to install my mobiler as suggested above. No worries if the screen doesn't work now.
Thanks for your help guys!

My TP is dead ! How to make to alive ?

After to have launch the file VZW_TP_SSPL-Manual.exe mine TP more it has not been turn on !

how to default reset with buttons ?
HELP me !
Sorry for my english:???:
As written here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Raphael_For_Beginners#Hardx20.Reset
Hard Reset the device:
This will wipe all the storage (not the sd card) and your device will be reset to default settings.
Hard reset
Pull out the stylus.
With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
Continue pressing the RESET, VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
ferus write: ...With the device turned on, press and....
but my device doesn't turn on, like if it were without battery !
bye for now.
Since English is not your primary language, I'm going to assume you do not live in the US. That being said:
You loaded a file designed ONLY for the Verizon Wireless Touch Pro device. The Verizon Wireless Touch Pro is CDMA (no SIM card).

i am sure Jesus can resurrect it
i beleive you have a brick my friend
CDMA is WAY not GSM
Based on the apparent knowledge (or lack thereof) of the OP...
First, STOP... You don't know what you're doing.
Second, as you've only loaded the Soft SPL have you tried simply removing the battery yet?
If not then do that before you do anything else .
After you have removed the battery count slowly to 15 then replace the battery and see if it come on again.
Return here and report the results.
First, STOP... You don't know what you're doing.thank you
Second, as you've only loaded the Soft SPL have you tried simply removing the battery yet? yes,for 8 hours.
I have made a hard reset, VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons, then press the RESET button, without success.
Wow, I'm suprised that SoftSPL would do perm damage to a device as my understanding was that it didn't actually overwrite the SPL but redirected to load from a different memory location (where is was actually written to).
Anyway...
I would say this leaves you with one option, warranty replacement. Call your provider or the reseller where you purchased the device and tell them that you woke up one fine day and it was simply dead.

Hard reset doesn't work :S

ok i'm a little scarry right now...
(the microSD is not in the cruise)
I press the GPS button
then the IE button
then I stick in the stylus into the reset...
I wait a second and then
the screen with the "this will erase blabalbal" blinks
i mean, I can't press the green button because the HTC restars it self
some idea?
I'll try to take the battery off for some hours to see what happens
"go to a SAT" is no allowed
Thanks in advance.
Did you try going to Start -> Settings -> System -> Clear Storage?
Sorry I forgot to say that the OS does not start...
it hangs up on the operator screan...
I tried to remove the battery for 4 hours but nothing...
maybe I'm the new owner of a good fashion paperholder XD (I wanna die jeje :s)
miracle!!!!
after a 1000000 tries...
my HTC has reseted.... thanks to all, can close the post but, before a quick Q: cold this happend due to a corrupted boot manager ? I'll reintall it just in case
i have the same problem.
the screen does not react anymore so i want to try a hard reset.
i tryd and tryd but cant get it to hard reset
I had the same problem with the screen having become unresponsive and being unable to perform a hard reset. The unit was 1-week short of the end of the warranty period and I sent it back to HTC for repair. The repair slip that came back with the device stated that it was a loose connector that was responsible and they simply tightenned the connection.
Sounds like you will need to send it in - if not on warranty at least it won't cost too much as no cost for parts.
Good luck.

No screen?

Hi all,
Perhpas this has been answered before, but I couldn´t find any related thread.
My Rapahel is turned on but can´t see anything on the screen! is totally black.
I know it´s turned on because I can up or down the volume key and I hear the sound and feel the vibrate.
Yesterday was ok, nothing new installed but today I just pressed the power button and nothing!!
This happened me before on Universal, problem was that in some way the phone change itself the brightness to cero.
If I conect to wall charger nothing happens also, not any sign that device is charging.
But still can see something. Now on my Rapahel I cant see anything?
Any help would be much than apreciated please!!

Hard Reset the device:
This will wipe all the storage (not the sd card) and your device will be reset to default settings.
Hard reset (option 1)
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
3. Continue pressing the RESET, VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
Hard reset (option 2)
You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
1. On the ?TouchFlo3D Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings or goto Start and press Settings.
2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
Hard reset (option 3)
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. Turn device OFF.
3. While pressing the CENTER button, turn the phone on with the POWER button.
4. Continue pressing the CENTER button until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
This works on at least some Verizon CDMA phones on which option 1 will not work.
Hard reset (option 4)
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons, then press and hold the POWER button.
3. Continue pressing the POWER, VOLUME DOWN, and CENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel. (works with Alltel touch pro)

Ok this is out of the wiki, u see that all methods let u press the vol up button to really start the hard reset than. So on either method do the key presses, wait a while and then press the vol up to start the process.
Its a little try and error because u are not seeing the the actual message to press the vol up. but mybe thats worth to try until u get the point. I think option 3 is a good and easy one.
hopefully the hardreset works, maybe u can try to take a torch or bright sun light to get the display information, if the display itself is not broke u should see a slight shadow of what is written on the display. I had that problem with my wifes phone once and the information was the but its not a reflective display so it was very faint to see.
Finally tho, if all that fails:
RMA = Return merchandise authorization
It means a warrenty return.
It sounds to me like the lcd has croaked. If you dont have suitable warrenty / insurance i'd suggest ebay! i've just found a screen & digitiser for less than £25 (thats for a Raph 100, i honestly dont know if parts are the same on different raph models but i suspect they are)
Good luck!
Thanks a lot guys but nothing worked
I cant do any hard reset option but sound stills hearing perfect
I can understand why one day was perfect and next no screen!!
Can anyone confirm that the LCD Display+Touch Screen For HTC Touch Pro T7272 form the last link will work on my At&t version?
Any other advice?
Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear that nothing worked.
Not shure but if the phone fails to hard reset it is not only the screen that is broken ! Take this into account, do u still have warranty, maybe it is better so exchange the whole phone.
Well that is the problem
I live in other country so warranty is not valid here, and there is not a single place where I can take it to repair here
Very strange as one day was perfect ant the next day no screen!!
I took the battery out and then place it again, all works normal, it starts (vibrations feels) then nothing!, I know its turned on because I can move volume up or down and I hear the sound and vibration, if open the keyboard not any light turns on on it.
I´ll wait patient till some member can recomend more options in order to make it work again.
I´m so frustrated...
Thanks anyway for your kind help!

Dont give up, hope that I not get on ur nerves. But still I think a hard reset must be possible.
When u turn ur device of how do you do that ? When u turn it OFF with the power button you have to answer a question on the screen, u do not see the question but is the touchscreen working or how do you know where the YES/NO field is ??
So another way is take the batt out, and when u insert the batt than turn it on with one of the mentioned hardreset procedures.
There is than a question also but this is answered with the Volume UP button.
Maybe u need a second person for helping with the buttons,
The hardreset must be possible somehow, it cant be a broken touchpro
OK I tried with my phone and procedure 1.
VOL DOWN and CENTER with Phone ON
Then Push RESET with the Stylus and hold all three until:
After 5 seconds the Bootscreen showed, after that the message to press VOL UP for Restore.
You do not see the boot screen but just wait the time
You are so kind my friend!
I have tested all the hard reset options but none seems to work
Aparently I can´t do a hard reset
as every time I follow any process and wait 5 sec, then press vol up and it seems that nothing has happened, not even a soft reset!
Pressed center button and vol down, then press the rest button located behind the usb port (the one with a symbol for headphones....)
But nothing happens.
I´lll upload a small video with me doing the process, hope it helps in anyway
Here the link of the video I took with my problem
https://www.yousendit.com/download/ZW9DQ3QxeWFEbUx2Wmc9PQ
Hope this helps in any clue to solve my mysterious problem
Thanks a lot!!
Ok will wait for the video.
Inbetween another option, did u try to flash the ROM.
Can u get a rom to download from ur provider, to do so ?
After the flash the device more or less does a hardreset.
Update:
saw the video, it seems that the phone is not reacting to the center or the reset button. Because when u push reset, even if it is not in hardreset mode, it should do a soft reset right away.
But ur phone is straight reacting to the Vol keys, very strange.
Is the mentioned ROM update an option ??
What is the reaction when u hock the phone to the pc, is active sync working ?
Do you see the internal memory of the phone ?
Remove the SIM and any memory card, maybe they are causing trouble ?
Exactly, Raphael is not reacting to a hard reset and dont know why?
I´ll keep trying all methods.
Yes, I´ll try to reflash to the original AT&T ROM for Fuze tomorrow as today I am not close to a computer.
If you have any link for that mentioned ROM would be great, if not no problem I´ll find it.
Once again thanks a lot and I´ll keep looking this thread in case someone else have another recommendation
Cheers,

UPDTATE: I conected raphael to my computer and using pocket controller I can see that all is working ok inside but nothing on the screen, or keyboard lights.
I´ll try to hard reset now...
Hope this can help in order to solve my problem
Thanks

UPDATE 2: I performed the wipe data from the device, this must be exactly as a hard reset I pressume, and nothing....
So now is there anything I can check to see if there is something loose in the connection from device to screen?
Any recommendations on how to do this?
signal from device working perfect simply does not come to screen or even to turn on light on keyboard
Any help is GREATLY apreciated!!!
What rom did you have? I had a similar problem and just had to rma it.
