I noted that when I power off/ screen off the machine for say more than 5 minutes, when I turn it on again by pressing the Green Dialing button, the Dialing pad comes out very slowly (3-5 seconds). This only happens when just turn on the machine using Green button.
When the machine is on - after running for a few minutes, I can switch between programs, dialing pad in less than 1 second.
I have already tried to unclick the auto-power off (after certain minutes) function, no helps!!
Anyone has experienced this before? Any solution?
I am using Bigstorge 1.12; radio 1.12; the memory (program + storage) is about 32mb in a normal situation.
You're not running PocketHackMaster or XCPU or anything like that, which throttles down your CPU speed when idle, are you?

I am looking for an application that can show a clock with the backlight off. I know it will be difficult to see, but the point is that the lamp doesn't consume power.
Actually, what I really want is that when the power button is activated to turn off the display, the application should start and show the clock with the display turned off, but otherwise enter a low-power mode.
I have no idea if this is possible with windows mobile 6, though.
I just noticed that the Nokia S95 maintains a clock (without backlight) on its display at all times (unless the phone is actively used). This doesn't seem to hurt its power consumption significantly which is why I hope a similar thing can be made for wm6.
Unfortunately, the device can't enter a low-power mode and still run an application.
You can try hooking the power button, setting it to launch your program and simultaneously kill the backlight; but note that your RAM will still be powered, along with any radios you have on (Bluetooh, WiFi), and any background processes will still be actively cycling through your processor.
I have a X7510 (WM6.1 original ROM) and for some reason which I have not set up in any settings, after 20 seconds the screen would dim to 25% if you leave it alone even though I have it set to always be at 100% brightness. It seems it automatically goes into a power saving mode if left alone for 20 seconds before powering off after 2 minutes, which is my configured setting.

Hmm the ram has to powered at all times, right? Otherwise how would the phone be able nearly instantly wake up and show its UI when the phone rings?
Anyway, it is too bad if the screen display anything with the rest in low-power state.
Intesting idea! That would be cool, I have seen it with smart phones but I've never seen it with HTC WM ppc's.
hi friends.
for me the most annoying thing about hd2, it switchs on immediately even i accidentally touch its turn on button.
any app. to extend the pressing duration to 2-3 seconds?
thx vm.
Does it happen every time?
It should require pressing the red button a few seconds to power up the HD2. However, from time to time, it powered up one a single brief touch. I have no idea why.

Mine requires only an instant press of the red button. But it does require a press, rather than a brush of the button.

less than 1 sec. touch is enough to power it up.
i don't think there would be any software to extend the pressing duration (maybe ROM should be changed.)
At least HD2 can start up at flight mode to prevent accidentally openings.
any software/reg.tweak/idea?
thx.
I have the same problem and I believe many HD2 users also have this problem. Searched for a long time but still could not find a solution for this.
Based on the description of the "Power Countdown" program, it should be able to solve this problem but, after my test, it doesn't work in HD2......(cannot find the icon in the system tray)
Hope that some of the geniuses here can help to solve this problem.
I suppose this is normal, since both my Touch HD and HD2 just need a short press on power button to boot up.
This is indeed annoying when HD2 is in a pocket an switches on unnoticed in the airplane or during a meeting.
I searched the registry and did not find any reg-entry for this, which is somehow logical since the powerup must be hardwired (before power-up the system is not running so no tweak in the operating system possible methinks)
As the title suggests, sometimes when my tf700 has had a long period of being idle if I go to use it and press the power button nothing will happen. I can still hear it functioning though cause I've accidentally taken screen shots when trying to reboot it when this happens, the screen is just black and I have to reset it.
Any suggestions?

Try switching WiFi sleep off and see if it helps.
Wifi sleep off?
I have that happen to me more than a few times. I just end up hitting power button and just tapping the corner. It works sometimes. but it's not always faster than just rebooting. Although, if you're going to reboot, just hold the power button till device shuts off.
What I think is happening is not that it's not waking, the display is just not turning on. I noticed this by plugging in the charger, which always turns on the display and device.
Yeah, the display isn't coming back up. I've noticed that too because I can still hear events occur (ie: unplugging the charger).
Another user on here tipped me off that it could be that it's in power save mode and the dimmer is COMPLETELY down, if you bump the brightness dimmer up just a hair, even 1 notch, it'll stop it from doing it, or at least it's stopped it so far for me since I changed it.
Why start two threads on the same issue?
Hello
I have a 32gb nexus 5. I had cataclysm rom 5.1 installed.
Sometime a couple of weeks ago, my nexus 5 would randomly start shutting off. As in the screen would turn off, and would not turn on using the power button. Even if i put it on charge, it would not turn on. I had to press and hold the power+volume up button to restart the phone. Used to usually work.
Then slowly and slowly, it became difficult to restart the phone using the "volume up+power" button. I probably had to do the combination 5-10 times and it would then turn on from the google screen. My recent apps still running in the background. Sometimes it used to optimize all the apps again.
I discovered it USUALLY restarting when I do something processor heavy (i.e. put more load on the processsor like gaming/connecting to HSDPA and browsing etc). I transferred my sim card to a different phone, undervolted and underclocked the processor and used it on airplane mode on wifi, and it rarely restarted(once or twice over a week). I can also almost always reproduce the "hang and shut down" by putting a sim card and and browsing specially on mobile data
I plan on giving away this phone but I dont know what the issue is. There is no reliable service center near me.
Any idea what the problem could be? From what I gathered, it could be a battery issue?
I have tried flashing factory images and reverting back to lollipop, both of which do not work unfortunately
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I have a MTCD-KGL for over an year now. The only issue I have with the device is that after power up, sometimes, not always it freezes after start.
Precisely:
- This happens once every 2-3 boots
- This happens regardless if it does a real power up or wakes after a sleep
- The freeze usually happens 10-15 seconds after startup, however sometimes it might happen immediately or take up to 3-5 mins to freeze
- When I set it up to sleep instead of shut down (after car power off) and the radio app has been turned on before shutting down, after power up of the car and device it would usually start the radio app again and turn on the sound and freeze only after this. Same is true for my navi app (Here to go) i.e. it would start the navi app after boot and then freeze. Sometimes I'm able to make a click or two before it freezes
- If it makes cold start (i.e. had been shut down) then it shows the launcher UI
- When it's frozen I could reset it via the reset button, however I can't power it off via the power button
- When it's frozen, the touch screen doesn't respond at all, while hardware buttons only make beeping sound. However nothing changes, no matter what button I press. Turning the volume knob makes multiple beeps, however the volume doesn't change. Pressing back, home or anything else also makes beep but no effect
- Shifting to reverse doesn't show the revers comer either
I have updated to numerous different firmwares, both KGL and others as well numerous KGL MCUs, however with all combinations the problem persists.
The device is not rooted yet, I could do it if it would be from any help.
Any idea? I don't know what might be causing this freeze, which is keeping the last snapshot on the screen and buttons beep, radio plays, but nothing else happens. Apparently it's not software problem, because updates of the firmware and the mcu would have solved it. So it should be a hardware one. Any idea where to look at?
Thanks and regards

Its an older unit and I would tend to think that your system is running out of memory.
I tried doing a System Update on mine but the dang head unit can't find the .img file in any slot nor usb port.
