hey, i just took a brief look in the elfin section. Go there and look at the stickies, there are guides for un bricking yoiur elfin and a good guide on how to correctly hardspl and flash....DO READ THEM (and you normally should flash a rom from bootloader in any case )
If you dont want to hardspl, then try the uspl way. You didnt say what rom you had tried to flash or wot you have done to get it stuck in bootloader.
Also are you using vista or xp on your computer?
i'm using xp on my comp,i got to bootloader because i tried to flash some roms and when i tried last time flashing onyx one it showed me error message and then started the problem.
ok, did u hard-spl sucessfully? what is you ips/spl shown on bootloader?
IPL is 2.26.0002
SPL is 2.26.0000 and as i said in right top corner RUU,
i've tried to flash it from sd card, but it ain't worked andlooked at goldcard method and i haven't got another winmo devic and don't know somebody who has, please help me to unbrick my phone,it was both from orange uk.

Please have a look at post 3 from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408637
Is this what you have tried doing previously?
Did you unlock your elfin first if it is locked on orange network?
If you cant get it working after trying this, go back to first link above and flash back an original stock rom, at least ur device will be working again!!
ps when u hardspl and tried to flash, did u disable antivirus on PC, and disconnect all other non essential usb devices? This is an commen cause of bad flashes, also try other usb ports, 2 of mine i cant flash on, 2 i can (which is wierd) - (i have experienced this myself).
If any of this doesnt help, as for help in the elfin section, but DO describe all your steps properly and fully and enclose links of roms tried etc so someone with an elfin can see what you have donw and save unnecassary posts etc.
mate, the link you gave me is that when i upgraded my elfin when it was working, i don't know what you mean about unlocked it is sim unlocked what about cid i really don't have idea, because i couldn't connect to mtty, please can you give me the link for original stock rom for my elfin, because i haven't done backup and i downloaded one but i don't know how to put in when i got in bootloader only and can't connect acivesync please tell me how to this aswell,PLEASE HELP ME UNBRICK MY ELFIN!!
Have you resolved this?
Search and download a stock rom from HTC or from here, use the search and wiki, you will find one there.
When you plug in ur elfin into the computer and put it in bootloader, do you see "USB" on the screen along with ur ipl and spl?
You should, and if you do you should be able to flash the stock rom on.
Hello,
I have tried to find an answer to my problem and can't seem to find it anywhere. Hopefully someone here will be able to assist.
Ok So I have an HTC ARIA, sim unlocked, and rooted using unrevoked3, running Aria Liberated custom ROM. Here is my problem I am not NAND (s-0ff) rooted. I have tried running revolutionary and also unrevoked forever. Neither worked. The problem is that I have hboot 0.57.0000 and I need version 1.02.0000 to make those programs work. Additionally, I need the phone to stay sim unlocked as I am in Germany for the next 3 years and am using a German cell phone company. So what I need is eithor a way to NAND root with hboot version 0.57.0000, or confirmation that if I install the stock upgrade to Android 2.2 (available on the HTC website) that my HBoot issue will be fixed with out loosing my sim unlock. I purchased the phone on ebay unlocked, I am not nor have I ever been an AT&T customer so I don't know where I would go to unlock the sim card again if it should become locked, and I don't know the code to unlock it.
Thanking you in advanced

Hi,
I'm attempting to Interop Unlock my HTC HD7.
I've just run a restore in Zune, but it appears that the earliest restore gives me:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2250.21.51002.728
Hardware revision number: 0002
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 5.10.2250.0(132968)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
I understand that if I have a Firmware revision number of 5xxxx, I cannot run the Interop Unlock as seen in this thread.
From what I see, it is possible for me to download a Stock ROM, in my case, this, and run that to downgrade my Firmware revision number.
I would just like to clarify before I start this process. Is the above information correct, and to run the Stock ROM, do I simply enter Bootloader Mode, start the .exe as downloaded from the thread, and let it run (seems too simple to me)?
Also, should I manage to get Interop Unlock working on a Firmware revision number of 4xxxx, would the Interop Unlock stick once I update the phone (is normal Zune update even possible after that)?
Thanks.
Be very careful. Since you have bootloader 5.xx
Pretty sure downgrading like that will brick your device. You have to use a y-cable. Last I heard, ive had my hd7 unlocked for a while not sure of newer ways.
Look for the downgrading spl thread in hd7 development. I think that's where it is.
After downgrade spl. I would just install hard-spl and flash a custom rom. Easier.
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Thanks for the reply. Didn't know about the Bootloader thing, fortunately I didn't go ahead with it yet.
I was under the impression that if the ROM is the official ROM for my region (SEA, Singapore, 728), I wouldn't require any modifications to the SPL.
I don't want to mess with the SPL or the bootloader though, I've bricked enough devices (not WP7) to have a phobia of such things. Guess I'll have to wait for a breakthrough in unlocking, unless someone has any other methods.
If you want to be absolutely safe, GoldCard (which what @reeg420 meant when mentioning Y-cable) is the most reliable method.
However, I *think* you can actually downgrade to an older stock ROM just fine even with SPL 5.x. It just won't downgrade the SPL itself the way it normally would. You can't use RSPL on SPL 4.x or higher, which is why being able to downgrade the SPL is sometimes important (people who want to use custom ROMs need RSPL).
I suggest you do a bit more searching before deciding. I have not tried messing with SPL 5.x at all; I briefly had 4.x on my phone and promptly downgraded it to 3.1 again.
Thanks. I decided to go ahead with it, but got an error: "ERROR 226 (Flash Write - FLASH write error happened. Please check your PDA Phone)", which rebooted my phone. Phone appears to be okay though, not bricked.
Looks like I'll probably need to use a GoldCard?
Edit: So it appears that the earliest ROM that allows me to HSPL is this, which has the Bootloader 1.54.2250.0(112696). Could someone check my following steps and verify that I'm correct?
1. Get Y-Cable, USB Gender Changer, MicroSD+Card Reader
2. Get GoldCard Tool
3. Get GoldCard IMG, from this thread? "My custom goldcard.img"
4. Format MicroSD to FAT32
5. Place RUU_signed.nbh extracted from the aforementioned ROM with Bootloader 1.54.2250.0(112696), renamed to SCHUIMG.nbh
6. Run GoldCard Tool, ignore CID box, use GoldCard IMG, Patch MMC
7. Connect GoldCard, Y-Cable, phone, etc, etc, etc, patch phone
8. Get DFT's WP7FG3 from this thread
9. Install HSPL (or should I get RSPL? What is the difference?)
10. Find ROM of my choice (what do you recommend?)
11. Run selected ROM's ROMUpdateUtility.exe, flash device to new Custom ROM
Q1: What happens if the GoldCard process fails?
Q2: Is there any cons as to having an outdated Bootloader?
Q3: Am I able to upgrade my device with Official ROMs in the future after performing this, or must I simply use Custom ROMs from here?
Q4: Will having a Custom ROM affect my connectivity with my network?

Answer for Q1: it will definitely brick your device
Answer for Q2: no cons that may disturb you
Answer for Q3: yes, you're able to upgrade your device with official roms
Answer for Q4: no, as i use custom rom on my device, no connectivity problems
Wow, the GoldCard step looks incredibly daunting then. Guess I'll give this a shot. Will have to wait for the stuff to arrive from Amazon though, which will probably be a while given my location.
Thanks everyone for your input
Hello,
My wife's Chacha has been ota updated to 1.54.401.3. Result was broken wi/fi connectivity. Phone is however s-on and locked. So, I decided to s/off it and root etc. But, htcdev utility for unlocking bootloader does not work, since the latest supported version is 1.54.401.2.
I've tried to install RUU European 1.33, but without success (also tried with the gold card) .
My idea is to downgrade it somehow in order to s/off, root and install custom rom, since she had a lot problems with stock ones, but i am stuck. Any help would be much appreciated.
my wife phone does have problem with connection phone calls
Didn't root or any stuff (she does not need it)
Now all hell breaks....
but wifi works

I am in your exact same situation. My wife's phone seems to be an HTC Europe phone and I too can't unlock it because it has been upgraded automatically to 1.54.401.3. Did you manage any progress?
+1 Here. Chacha is rooted but s-on. Does not want to unlock again via HTC website, and unable to unroot.
I have an HTC HD7 and It's on SPL 5.11.2250.0, and I want to try out the WP7.8 ROM on it. I've never actually flashed my device before, so I'm a bit new to this.
I'm aware I need to downgrade the SPL first, but the tutorials I have found are all for 5.10, and I can't find any for 5.11.
Thanks, Alex.

The tutorials for the SPL 5.10 are for all SPL 5.xxx in general and will work for you.
The steps to install a custom rom are - Downgrade the SPL to at or below 3.xxx (which is required to install RSPL/HSPL) download and install RSPL/HSPL by DFT and then download and install a custom rom of your choice.
There are basically only 3 methods available for downgrading 5.xxx
1. Goldcard/ Y cable method - Requires a Y cable, (female too 2 male USB cable) either purchased or home made, SD card reader and a 1gb to
4gb SD card (larger cards will work but need to be formatted to FAT32 and partitioned) or a flash drive. Card reader works better though.
Download Goldcard tool and stock/shipped Pre-NoDo/NoDo rom.
2. Zune restore point by Zubair - Restore your device through Zune. Only works if you updated your device from a Pre-Mango state to Mango and still have the PC that you used to do it on. When you restore the device it doesn't change the SPL, it changes the SPL when you re-update your device through Zune thought. The key point is the device will restart twice when it installs Mango, once to change the SPL to 4.xxx and once to install Mango and at this point you have to stop the update before it installs the next update which is which he HTC Firmware Update or your SPL will be changed to 5.xxx again. One the device is on 4.xxx just follow the tutorial for downgrading 4.xxx
3. SLSPL by Ansar - Work on Europe devices with Firmware Revision Number ending in.401 and can work on TMobile devices that are SIM unlocked.
Just follow Shadows step by step tutorial on downgrading SPL, flashing XSPL and installing a custom rom. All the links for the above methods are listed in the downgrading SPL 5.xxx and it also has all the stock/shipped rom links and the link for RSPL/HSPL.

If you have any questions or problems just let me know!
Hi, i tried the gold card method! I've only tried it with a usb hub instead of the cable to y, do you think this does not make me start the downgrade? the phone is in fact doing research on the combination button camera + vol-+ power and go into the screen usb host mode and remains so even if the appearance 3/5 minutes ... then I say wait a t-flash usb to micro sd instead of the Micro SD card reader, do you think one of 2 things is the cause? or all 2? let me know if you know anything thanks!
