Although Expansys is not an "official" iMATE site, they are the only ones to have announced a definitive date for the first shipments of the iMATE PDA2. For UK, it appears they will be shipping June 30. For USA customers, they will be shipping July 3. PDA2 now also appears listed as one of the official products on the clubimate site (under products tab).
it doesn't have Windows 2005 tho... just the second edition
What's the difference between PDA2 and XDA IIi?
Fo what I can see XDAIIi is better.
Another supplier...
Expansys has now changed to getting the thing on June 30th...and we have http://www.extrafone.com/products.asp?partno=IM-PDA2
check it out
better than Qtek9090/pda2k?
Hey guys,
I have been limping along with my much-scratched and greatly accursed Qtek 9090.
I never use the built in keyboard (BT stowaway is the answer), the camera is pants and the phone is like talking through a sock.
minimum 5 soft resets per day.
Otherwise, very happy...
However, am under the impression that the PDA2 is a far better bit of kit (albeit not quad band; true? if so.... why??)
What's the answer? Can I get either of them up to WM2005 (when you boffins get it working). Or do I (gasp) go back to the Ipaq...?
All I want is a phone that works, satnav that doesn't hang, bluetooth that doesn't need resetting, Wifi and GPRS that work anywhere in the world, an MP3 player worth buying that 2gig SD card for, A headphone jack I can put my senheisers into (and get bloody stereo out of) bundled in a system that doesn't look like I have a gideon bible in my pocket.
Glad I got that off my chest.
Its coming home!
Guys/ Gals...
Expansys have just sent mine out
The 30th of June was just a guess from the looks of it.

Caller ID
Kieron,
It's probably a long shot, but if you happen to have a jabra bt800 headset, let me know if the caller ID works with the PDA2. I have an original IMATE and am VERY tempted to get the PDA2 from expansys (now shipping), but $779 is not something I like to "throw around"...
Thanks!
-Kevin.

Not sure how reliable their release dates are...
Greg
Considering that Expansys have had that message up for at least a week and before that they had 'Estimated 5 Days' for nearly a fortnight I would guess that their estimations are extrememly unreliable
If you also consider the fact that they still haven't got the specification of the device correctly yet either (XScale 255 instead of 263 - it IS a big difference) then what does that tell you

I ordered the JABRA BT250 10 days ago from Expansys and I haven’t heard from them since. Yesterday I called them, they explained that they are out of stock and I should receive my item late next week.
I will keep you posted
Baker - I'll certainly be interest to hear when you actually get it
i'm considering on buying from expansy; i'd like to ask for your opinion regarding this site. any of you have purchased stuff through them? feedback on services, security, etc would be much appreciated. i do know that this site is uk based; so the more international buyers' feedback the better.
cheers
rob
I'm UK based and I've bought a fair bit from them. They're alright. Not exceptional but no problems really. Just don't be tempted to back order or pre-order stuff with them. The stock in dates are often a bit optimistic (not really their fault as these things are beyond their control to a certian extent).
hey mate
whew; owe you a pint there! i was considering doing a preorder for an item...thanks for the heads up. they do have an option where you can be notified when the product is available; guess i'll go for this instead.
cheers
rob
I have bought from them and they did exactly what they said. They were not that cheap for what I bought but they did have reletively tight security at the time. As it was an international credit transaction for a substancial amount I liked that.
yep, don't order popular items based on their "coming soon" dates because they are generally way off.
Heed the above advice. I ordered a Dopod 818 pro (from the Chinese version of their site), and went through helacious trouble. I finally got an i-Mate JAMin a month and a half after I placed my first order, it just arrived this morning. On the up side though, I managed to talk them into a 5% discount for making me wait.
very informative advice; thanks so much for the feedback. guess i'd better wait till the item comes out then. i did find a hong kong based site (as per Zoltair Wright's message); given that i do frequent going there i might as well check it out myself and not do any preordering. thanks mates, helps tons!
cheers
I bought a few times, I haven't any problem. There aren't the greatest prices but it is not bad...
Happy customer...
I got my k-jam from them here in Aus and very happy with the service.
Bought a bundle of optional stuff at the same time and even a couple of items the website said where 'due 1-3 days' got in the package that night.
found the support folks helpful when I was trying to decide what device.
their forums are second to here, but probably better than Club i-mate!
my acer n30 went faulty. reported fault 4th january, despite numerous phonecalls and unanswered emails the unit was not returned until march. great prices, but hope that your product doesn't go faulty!

The service I've had from them has been great. Everything always arrives quickly and the only thing I ever had to return was sent back without problems.
I forgot I preordered one. Must admit I thought supplier was supposed to email me first to see if I still wanted it (they normally do this by the way).
I'm happy with my dual/nike, but then I did preorder for a purpose.
Should I keep or should I send it back?
Nice
May i ask where u ordered it from and when? I ordered mines from expansys.ca on jan 9th and im still waiting.

Just looked at expansys uk and they are saying they have 109 units in stock...
Keep!!!
Well, I've just moved to an Orbit 2 from an Orbit 1.
I couldnt list one fault with the Orbit...
Other than that the Orbit 2 completely wipes the floor with it.
This is by far the best device I have ever had (and I said that about the Orbit)
So IMHO keep the new TC for sure!
agree with Biomehanika completely............fantastic
I got it from a company called easydevices in the UK, they always seem to let you preorder ages before release (they dont charge).
I have as it happens decided to keep the cruise, i couldnt believe how light it is, even compared to the Dual, with wifi and gps in there as well.
Hey Guys
I have an issue with my g900 in that the USB port is getting worse, in fact today I have to prop the cable/tension it a bit to enable it to charge and its getting worse by the hour.
Now, I plan to upgrade to a Samsung I900 in two weeks when my mate gets back from Hong Kong sadly though, the G900 won't last that long - it'll be lucky to last the today!
As I am a massive mobile word/excel/pop3/push email/Internet Sharing (must do 3g, can live without HSDPA for two weeks) user for work I need a cheap as chips phone that can do the above (off contract). Not really bothered about any of the other flashy stuff like GPS etc....
Can you recommend one?
edit: i need to be able to mail order it today
i have a Tytn 1, the orginal Hymes
and Imate 6150 for sale.
both are used. how much u willing to pay?
I have a tytn in a draw (somewhere ...). It has the usual HTC reliability issues..... so nothing.
I-Mate/Other. Thanks for the offer Turns out my friend is going to Singapore next week so I can get him to get me an Omnia. Thanks anyway and good luck selling them
Whats going on with this?!
I bought my phone from Devicewire as a pre-order, and paid over the top for it. I got it and immediately emailed them reqesting a refund as everywhere else was selling it £30+ cheaper. I got a replay saying they would give me a free desktop cradle as soon as they got stock (I was going to buy one anyway) - so that made up for the £30.
Last week it said on their website they were getting them on the 1st August. I've just checked again and it now says 17th September.
I love my Diamond to bits, but is it just me, or are HTC the most incompetent, unreliable company there is?!?!
