Not sure how reliable their release dates are...

Considering that Expansys have had that message up for at least a week and before that they had 'Estimated 5 Days' for nearly a fortnight I would guess that their estimations are extrememly unreliable
If you also consider the fact that they still haven't got the specification of the device correctly yet either (XScale 255 instead of 263 - it IS a big difference) then what does that tell you

I ordered the JABRA BT250 10 days ago from Expansys and I haven’t heard from them since. Yesterday I called them, they explained that they are out of stock and I should receive my item late next week.
I will keep you posted
Baker - I'll certainly be interest to hear when you actually get it

Hi Guys and Gals
I am selling my XDA2i, which has been unlocked and tested to work on Orange, T Mobile, Vodaphone and O2 networks, only setback is a couple of scratches on the left hand side but nothing major, works perfectly
You will also get Tom Tom 5 incl the UK, European and USA maps as well as a DVD full of the latest applications and games
Please PM me with any offers or email me on [email protected]
I am willing to ship abroad but the buyer will have to pay for postage
Thanks
I have decided that will take £300 for my device, this will include Special Delivery postage to anywhere in the UK. I have checked Ebay and this seems a fair price I think
Overseas buyers you will have to pay the relevant postage to your country on top of the price above
If you think this is too high then please let me know what you think is reasonable
Thanks
I have reconsidered and am willing to take £240, this will include shipping to any UK address. Overseas buyers the price will depend on where the item is to be sent.
I have decided to buy O2 Mini S, I think it seems a logical step forward as the XDA Exec is too bulky and not as cool
Let me know what you all think
not bein funny but i think you signature is puttin people off.
that and the xda mini s is about £150 on the data5 tarrif with a trade in handset (factoring in line rental and assuming you keep your existing sim, as you would buying SG's xda2).
i'm considering on buying from expansy; i'd like to ask for your opinion regarding this site. any of you have purchased stuff through them? feedback on services, security, etc would be much appreciated. i do know that this site is uk based; so the more international buyers' feedback the better.
cheers
rob
I'm UK based and I've bought a fair bit from them. They're alright. Not exceptional but no problems really. Just don't be tempted to back order or pre-order stuff with them. The stock in dates are often a bit optimistic (not really their fault as these things are beyond their control to a certian extent).
hey mate
whew; owe you a pint there! i was considering doing a preorder for an item...thanks for the heads up. they do have an option where you can be notified when the product is available; guess i'll go for this instead.
cheers
rob
I have bought from them and they did exactly what they said. They were not that cheap for what I bought but they did have reletively tight security at the time. As it was an international credit transaction for a substancial amount I liked that.
yep, don't order popular items based on their "coming soon" dates because they are generally way off.
Heed the above advice. I ordered a Dopod 818 pro (from the Chinese version of their site), and went through helacious trouble. I finally got an i-Mate JAMin a month and a half after I placed my first order, it just arrived this morning. On the up side though, I managed to talk them into a 5% discount for making me wait.
very informative advice; thanks so much for the feedback. guess i'd better wait till the item comes out then. i did find a hong kong based site (as per Zoltair Wright's message); given that i do frequent going there i might as well check it out myself and not do any preordering. thanks mates, helps tons!
cheers
I bought a few times, I haven't any problem. There aren't the greatest prices but it is not bad...
Happy customer...
I got my k-jam from them here in Aus and very happy with the service.
Bought a bundle of optional stuff at the same time and even a couple of items the website said where 'due 1-3 days' got in the package that night.
found the support folks helpful when I was trying to decide what device.
their forums are second to here, but probably better than Club i-mate!
my acer n30 went faulty. reported fault 4th january, despite numerous phonecalls and unanswered emails the unit was not returned until march. great prices, but hope that your product doesn't go faulty!

The service I've had from them has been great. Everything always arrives quickly and the only thing I ever had to return was sent back without problems.
There's a lot of different resellers about and equally many roumers of who's good and who's dodgy at the moment . So that we all know who's who out there, heres a little Thread with Vendor reviews.
If you have something positive or something negitive to say about a seller please say it here.
Also please rate your vendor XX out of 10, I might add a field to the vendor wiki.

I've always used Expansys / MobilePlanet. I'm USA so MobilePlanet.
There is some atrocious whining in their forums from - for want of a better term - EXTRAnoobs.
But in my dealings they are professional, rock solid and I've never had any problems.
Onthegosolutions
I have used Maobile Planet in the past and had no specific problems.
For some years not I have been using OntheGoSolutions and I have been pleased because I always know who I am speaking with. Seems to have very little turnover and they are small enough that I can communicate with one person. They are definitley not the cheapest but have at least twice in the past lowered a price for me when I pointed out an advertised lower price elsewhere.
I bought my Raphael online from Expansys Canada... All I can say is the transaction was very easy, and shipping was SUPER FAST!!!
Ordered it Friday afternoon (approx 3pm), after a small billing problem (I gave them a different phone number from the one on my Credit Card account), confirmed the order on Monday morning at 10am (they aren't opened on weekends), I had the device in my hands Tuesday just before noon...
All in all, besides the phone # problem, I'm very happy with the transaction. It was easy, smooth and fast...
Inkino UK
To all in London and southeast
Eugene at Inkino (I never knew I needed one), 48 Tottenham Court Road www.inkino.co.uk is a mine of information on all things HTC. They are one of the few, if only, HTC Ultimate Partners and it shows.
I have bought my Trinity and now Touch Pro from there.
Yes I could probably get a few pounds off here or there but the service and honest opinions I have had from Eugene and his collegues at the sister branch 9 Great Russell Street mean that I will simply not buy from elsewhere. If I have a problem I know I can call up or drop in and I will speak to someone who knows his products inside out and is a straightforward trader.
Pleasure to do business with.
I ordered mine from Expansys UK. I live in Cyprus and Expansys is propably the best choice. Although I should have used Expansys Cyprus, the UK site was 40 Euro cheaper so I went with them. The service is excellent! Prices are among the best in the market. (630 EURO inc. DHL shipping fees).
They support Paypal, which is a big plus in safety matters, and by using DHL you get your phone in record time.
All in all, i am a happy customer=p
I'm in the US and I bought mine from Clove. A tad more expensive, but I was having problems with Google Checkout (which Handtec uses for overseas orders). Clove was a little slow to receiving my order, but once they did they shipped it out within hours. DHL got it to me in 2 days, all the way from UK to California, and by 10am no less.
One thing about Clove (that I appreciated) is that they require you to confirm the order by calling your CC company and requesting the 6-digit charge authorization number for the charge. Maybe it's an extra hassle, but it's nice to know they're serious about your security.
I would order from Clove again, but of course now I have no money.
I'm in the US and purchased from Smart Mobile Gadgets. All was as they said, including Saturday delivery.
I ordered my TP from On the Go Solutions in July. They said they would call and make sure I still wanted it before they would ship. They also shipped the day the said they would, a month in advance. I am very satisfied with the way they do business.
This is a statement of one set of circumstances and does NOT impute or call into question the credibility or otherwise of this particular organization. There may be an explanation - but so far - my client has not received one.
A client of mine bought direct in a Buy It Now eBay auction from a company with a high level of positive feedback with thousands of positive transactions on eBay. Their public site is - Popular Electronics http://www.popularelect.com.
Approx 24 hours after buying eBay declared the auction NULL AND VOID and advised my client that they do not have to pay. eBay stated:
"As eBay removed the item, you are no longer obliged to send payment for it. Please don't send money or respond to any emails from the seller.
If you've sent payment but haven't received the item, please wait a reasonable period of time for delivery. If you don't receive the item, please contact us again by clicking "Contact Us" on any eBay Help page and selecting the following contact options:
Buying and Finding>Fraud and Payment Concerns for Buyers>Item Not Received or Item Not as Described (you paid)"
My client has called and emailed the company direct and not received any replies.
I've carefully reviewed the eBay email and header codes and believe the email is genuine and not a phish. All the auctions that for TouchPRo's that WERE on ebay from this company have disappeared at 9/3/2008 14:00 EDT.
I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
BEWARE OF THE TIGADUACELLULAR!!!

Has anyone actually baught anything from tigerCellular out there? If so let us know are they real or fake? thanks... im betting the latter but you never know
2call.nl 5/10
Got my TP from 2call.nl
Price without contract (as I use company sim) was good and delivery was very fast.
However, as my TP came with the know problems (GPS instable and hot, black paint falls off,...), I asked 2call within two weeks after pruchase to take my device back and replace it by a new one.
They refused.
As price and delivery is not the only thing I expect from a retailer of a some hundred euro device, I personally will not buy at 2call.nl again.
I am looking to replace my HTC Desire with a One S when my contract ends in 3 weeks time. The best deal I can currently find is as follows:
200 min / 3000 sms / 500 MB @ £21.50/month (24 months)
Phone cost £39.99
On O2 network being offered by Phones4U
Anyone know of a better deal around?
Wait a couple of weeks until T-mobile get it and ask them to do a price match (or better it). I just did this with the Xperia S and they beat the current £21.50 O2 deal by nearly £100 (over a 24 month period).

Yeah that is my plan
Have already refused the retention department's current offer. Just waiting for them to start stocking the One S (after April 5 presumably) and I will try again.
Yeah, as always the case, the first offer they make you isnt usually even tempting.
The second person I spoke to said "they were from a slightly different department" and therefore were able to better the original offer...hmmmm, nothing to do with the fact a competing provider had a better deal - oh and of course the customary threat to leave
I like the look of the One S but the screen resolution and 16GB limit on storage is off putting. I have to last the phone for the next two years so need to look ahead. The One X is simply to big (4.7") for me.
Not seeing many reviews on the net for either of the S or X.
What a difference a day makes. All the O2 £21.50 offers have disappeared today...!

There are still a couple of places doing them, although o2 direct is not one of them. Seemed a bit strange as to why they were much cheaper than all other providers. just a one week promotion i guess.
I meant the HTC One S offers, not the Xperia but thanks anyway...
Oh, I must have missed all of the £21.50 offers on the One S...
Current best deal?:
300 min
unlimited sms
250MB data
FREE phone
£21/month on T-Mobile from mobilephonesdirect
(Buy it through Topcashback and get £30.30 cashback)!

amazone.co.uk got it for 420 euro.
When these hits retail stores, I probably will have to pay around 450 euro, mybe even more (they usualy overprice).
499 @ ditech, austria, vienna on 4.4
i think i will fall to 450 when they are able to supply enough units to satisfy demand. i bought mine despite of the higher price because i fear(ed) that the rumored production halt of the s4 processor in march will cause supply problems for 1-2 month ...

Thats £420, which equals ~510€, it's not 420€
I paid £428 for mine including shipping from Clove. It's not the lowest UK price, but there is not much difference at the moment, and their customer service when I bought my Desire from them in 2010 and in the few days leading up to my purchase was good enough that I decided it was worth giving them my business again.
In Italy costs around 600 euros (insane price :O)
So I'm also looking for cheaper units in Europe
I am wondering what the estimated price will be for this phone in the US with upgrade. I have to start setting aside money for the end of the month.
Today 489 Euros in a retail store, while a lot of mail order retailers are a bit higher still here in Germany.
Just nursing it to an 12h initial charge before starting to play around with it...
