Hi everyone! I just would like to ask help from all you XDA II experts out there. My father bought me a Motorola HS820 bluetooth headset from the US for my XDA. As instructed in the manual, I charged it for 2 hours and then turned it on to be paired to my XDA so I can already use it. However, I haven't been successful in pairing the 2 devices for my personal use. My XDA doesn't seem to recognize any bluetooth device around even if the bluetooth headset is turned on.
Do I need to upgrade, download, install or update anything in my XDA so I can make the bluetooth headset work? I understand that this particular model works for all bluetooth enabled devices as written on their official website.
By the way, I got my upgrade from this site and so far, I haven't had any problems except for this one.
Your help on the matter will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

you have to press the headset button until it is blue colour and not blinking then only you can pair it.

Hi, I am a new user so be gentle!
My XDA II is arriving middle of next week (just in time for xmas ) but i wondered if anyone can help me....
I have a BMW with Bluetooth phone setup in it. My previous phones, T65 3650 and T610 have all connected fine via bluetooth and from what i gather used a headset profile rather than a carkit one. I am not very technologically minded as you can probably guess. Does anyone know if this will be a problem in connecting the XDA II to the car? If so is there likely to be an upgrade to resolve the issue in the near future?
I looked for info on this topic but couldnt find anything do any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
XDA II pairs ok with BMW bluetooth but thats as far as it goes. New ROM upgrade promised in early 2004 may resolve this.
oh
fingers crossed the ROM updates work ok then.
Havent had a PDA since a Palm III several years ago. Really looking forward to seeing how much they have improved
I also am frustrated with the fact I cant use the bluetooth on my BMW - does anyone know what the actual issue is does this serial patch have anything to do with it?
Is the headset profile different to the Hansfree profile?

The headset profile and the handsfree are different, headset mimics a standard wired headset, ie accept call, terminate call and thats about it.
The handsfree has a lot more features such as transfering the number lists. BMW have chosen the handsfree, and XDA doesnt have it yet. The serial fix wont do anything as its not the problem in this case.
I guess we will just have to wait and hope. I'm a little concerned that the BMW system may not comply with the standards, so it may not work even with the correct bluetooth profile.
Sorry its not good news, Towa is working on the handsfree profile, might have something early in the new year, lets hope he can figure it out.
Cheers

I have an email from O2 saying they are aware of the issues with blue tooth headsets
The Email started by saying the BT200 is approved for the XDA2
I then sent a email asking for an approval cert stating this is the case.
I know all Blue tooth headset are not compatable with XDA2
I have tested 5 manufactures and they all do the same thing
If the bluetooth headset is used when phone is on a desk the coverage is quite good.
Problem Is when you put the XDA2 in your pocket the coverage is crap it sound like a old fm radio station and you get poor audio quality both ways incoming and outgoing.
I will paste a copy of email from O2 below
Anybody else had any problems like this??

Thank you for your email and apologies for the inconveniences you are experiencing.
This is indeed something we are aware of, and we too believe it is a problem with the device itself. We are currently liasing with the XDA manufacturers to try and resolve these issues, but I hope you can appreciate something like this is not going to be a quick fix.
I'm not sure if it will resolve the actual issues you are facing, but we are also releasing a ROM upgrade for the XDA II in feb/March (from www.my-xda.com) which should greatly improve the Bluetooth facility, which also includes scope for the handsfree functionality.
I appreciate that this is not the answer you were hoping for, but we are working to resolve these issues.
Kind regards

I have a SOny Ericsson HBH-35
The first one I bought wouldn't work at all with the XDAII - I though 'oh know', assuming it was the XDAII at fault.
I returned the headset - the shop tested it and found it to be faulty. Gave me a new one to try.
Works perfectly !
Bluetooth
Does it work in your back pocket ok
I tried one it did the same as the Bt200 but not as bad
Xda 2 bluetooth headset
HIIII
I have the Nokia HS-3W bluetooth headset for the Xda 2 and it works the treat....I have tried many other bluetooth headsets and this one is the best one by far. Hope this information will be helpful...
Hi,
I have looked up all postings here and seems that all postings say that no problems at all with Jabra BT250 for O2XDA. Well, I have a problem, I just bought Jabra BT250 and tried to bond with my XDA but did not work and my XDA could not recognise the headset. I tried to connect my XDA II with other blue tooth device and it did work. I checked the headset with other phone and it worked as well. I am really puzzled.
Thanks,
Herman
This may sound obvious but do you have the bluetooth headset mode enabled on your today menu?
I had the same problem and realised that it was quite simply a case of activating bluetooth headset via today screen
Yes, I did turn the bluetooth headset on
But everytime I tried to bond the XDA to the Jabra, the XDA could not find any bluetooth devices
Thanks guys,
Problem solved, I upgrade my ROM to 1.72. and it is working now.
Cheers,
Herman
Hi all.
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but what is the difference between the P3650 Cruise (Polaris) and the O2 XDA Orbit 2?
The reason I am asking is that I have recently had a Parrot MKi9200 handsfree car kit installed and my O2 XDA Orbit 2 seems to be unable to maintain a stable Bluetooth connection between the two?
I have contacted Parrot Technical Support and they have said that they have tested the MKi9200 with the P3650 Cruise (Polaris) and it works perfectly but at the moment they haven't tested it with the O2 XDA Orbit 2!
So I'm struggling to understand why the O2 XDA Orbit 2 won't work?
same hardware, different case, so firmware (ROM) -wise they are the same device, if your parrot device still doesn't work, you might want to update your ROM to the latest version at XDA site (official) or try a Polaris custom ROM from here until you find the right one for you.
Use search feature and read before posting, it's the best path you can follow.

Hi Drakh and Davidez2.

I'm new at this and I'm not quite sure what you mean and where I'm supposed to be looking!!!!!!
Many thanks.
Hi,
I have an Mki 9100 paired with my Orbit 2 and it works perfectly for telephony, but not so well for directions coming from TomTom.
I installed C Shekar's "b" rom when I got the phone and haven't looked back.
What are your symptoms?
Hi SpiggyTopes.

The symptoms I have is that I can't maintain a stable bluetooth connection.
Sometimes the Orbit 2 connects perfectly (telephony & CoPilot) and then after x minutes a "connection lost" message appears on the screen. (I've put 'x' minutes because it's not always the same amount of time).
Or, it may connect (telephony only) but still loses the connection after x minutes.
I've contacted Parrot and they finally come back to me to say that they have tested the MKi9200 with the HTC Touch Cruise but not the Orbit 2.
I have also tried a friends Touch Cruise with the MKi9200 and still had the same problem.
However, when I contacted Parrot again they said that there has been a problem with some of the HTC Touch Cruise's where the handset drops the Bluetooth connection when idle and that there is a "Hot Fix" to resolve this. (So I'm going to download this "hot fix" on the Touch Cruise and try it)
If this "hot fix" does resolve the Touch Cruise handset then I'm not sure whether to try the "hot fix" on the Orbit 2? Any thoughts?

As I said in one of my previous posts I'm a newbie to this so I'm not sure what you mean by you installed C Shekars "b" rom?
many thanks
OK - re new ROM:
You can upgrade the built in part of the phone's memory which runs the phone itself. I didn't like the O2 system, so flashed it to another ROM, which is far far better.
You would need to be calm and collected to do it!
You download and run SP Unlock to completely unlock your phone. No changes to the working of the phone are made.
Backup your data if necessary
You download the ROM (C Shekar's "b" (not the "a") rom - you will find it in the upgrade forum). About 50 MB.
You run the ROM upgrade via your USB / Active Sync connection (I have Windows XP).
Done!
It will then work with Parrot.
I've done this several times with different phones, but if you are nervous about it, try to get some hands on help.
I just bought a Plantronics Voyager PRO headset for my Nexus One (running 2.2). The headset won't stay connected. It's paired and could make calls right after pairing, but now it won't connect unless I remove the device and repair it.
Is there anything else I can try? Any firmware updates for bluetooth on the phone or the headset? Any ideas??
