XDA II and BMW Bluetooth connectivity - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Hi, I am a new user so be gentle!
My XDA II is arriving middle of next week (just in time for xmas ) but i wondered if anyone can help me....
I have a BMW with Bluetooth phone setup in it. My previous phones, T65 3650 and T610 have all connected fine via bluetooth and from what i gather used a headset profile rather than a carkit one. I am not very technologically minded as you can probably guess. Does anyone know if this will be a problem in connecting the XDA II to the car? If so is there likely to be an upgrade to resolve the issue in the near future?
I looked for info on this topic but couldnt find anything do any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

XDA II pairs ok with BMW bluetooth but thats as far as it goes. New ROM upgrade promised in early 2004 may resolve this.

oh
fingers crossed the ROM updates work ok then.
Havent had a PDA since a Palm III several years ago. Really looking forward to seeing how much they have improved

I also am frustrated with the fact I cant use the bluetooth on my BMW - does anyone know what the actual issue is does this serial patch have anything to do with it?

Is the headset profile different to the Hansfree profile?

The headset profile and the handsfree are different, headset mimics a standard wired headset, ie accept call, terminate call and thats about it.
The handsfree has a lot more features such as transfering the number lists. BMW have chosen the handsfree, and XDA doesnt have it yet. The serial fix wont do anything as its not the problem in this case.
I guess we will just have to wait and hope. I'm a little concerned that the BMW system may not comply with the standards, so it may not work even with the correct bluetooth profile.
Sorry its not good news, Towa is working on the handsfree profile, might have something early in the new year, lets hope he can figure it out.
Cheers
Jon

bluetooth headsets do not work correclty with the XDA2

I have an email from O2 saying they are aware of the issues with blue tooth headsets
The Email started by saying the BT200 is approved for the XDA2
I then sent a email asking for an approval cert stating this is the case.
I know all Blue tooth headset are not compatable with XDA2
I have tested 5 manufactures and they all do the same thing
If the bluetooth headset is used when phone is on a desk the coverage is quite good.
Problem Is when you put the XDA2 in your pocket the coverage is crap it sound like a old fm radio station and you get poor audio quality both ways incoming and outgoing.
I will paste a copy of email from O2 below
Anybody else had any problems like this??

Thank you for your email and apologies for the inconveniences you are experiencing.
This is indeed something we are aware of, and we too believe it is a problem with the device itself. We are currently liasing with the XDA manufacturers to try and resolve these issues, but I hope you can appreciate something like this is not going to be a quick fix.
I'm not sure if it will resolve the actual issues you are facing, but we are also releasing a ROM upgrade for the XDA II in feb/March (from www.my-xda.com) which should greatly improve the Bluetooth facility, which also includes scope for the handsfree functionality.
I appreciate that this is not the answer you were hoping for, but we are working to resolve these issues.
Kind regards

I have a SOny Ericsson HBH-35
The first one I bought wouldn't work at all with the XDAII - I though 'oh know', assuming it was the XDAII at fault.
I returned the headset - the shop tested it and found it to be faulty. Gave me a new one to try.
Works perfectly !
Bluetooth
Does it work in your back pocket ok
I tried one it did the same as the Bt200 but not as bad
Xda 2 bluetooth headset
HIIII
I have the Nokia HS-3W bluetooth headset for the Xda 2 and it works the treat....I have tried many other bluetooth headsets and this one is the best one by far. Hope this information will be helpful...

Bluetooth disconnect after hangup

Have a weird problem and i think it can fixed by some registry.
the bluetooth will disconnect each time with my headsfree after hang up call. only either i press headsfree button to re-estabish or restart bluetooth to get it hook up again.
Does anyone has similar experience ?
Bluetooth disconnect
I've had this problem with my Sprint Touch Pro since I've had it...running stock ROM or Merdin's ROM. Very frustrating...using Motorola HF820 in the car and AT&T EP5632 (BT/Landline phone)...same thing.
I think there's a registry entry for bluetooth polling or something that can be set, but I've yet to find it. There was a post indicating that Diamond TF3D Config had a Bluetooth "tweak" that might solve the problem...but I get an error message when I run it.
JLPDA, Can you send me the tread that talk about this tweak, i wanna take a look see has anything we can do about.
Same problem: Touch Pro with Parrot MK6000 handsfree. I notice though that the phone reconnects after a minute or so. Previous Tytn did not have this problem.
Any news on this? I have the same problem with my Touch HD and Mk6000
Prehapes we have to generate alot of post to make people make attention to us .....

Maybe we should flood Parrot with requests for a fix... It should be easy for them.. my previous kit (MK3000) worked flawlessly...
just "copy and paste" from MK3000 parrot engineers!!!!
OTOH, my Jasjam (HTC Tytn) worked fine with my MK6000, while my current Touch Pro has this problem.
I was unable to find anything on the Parrot forums...
I wrote a message to the technical support page on Parrot's web site... let's see what happens...
Parrot's tech support told me that the HTC Touch HD is not currently suopported!!

Seems like nothing is supported on this POS. Out of six phones I have had the only ones that seemed to work with the MK6000 without problem was the Blackberry Storm which is the only good thing I have to say about that phone. It seems moronic that people should have to go through different phones to make their "Accessory" work. Parrot needs to get a clue. I know I'll be voting with my dollars elsware.
I can confirm, it will work as a stereo adaptor with the Touch Pro 2 but hangs up phone calls in the first second or two on the handsfree.
For Sale: One Parrot MK6000 stereo A2DP car kit, slightly used.
And I thought Bluetooth was supposed to be a standard...
I hate bluetooth!!!
What do you know... my parrot MK6000 now works just fine with my new HTC LEO...
Maybe it's because the LEO uses Broadcomm's bluetooth stack instead of the Microsoft's one... who knows...

I also have the AT&T EP5632 and this happens. Does not happen on my Plantronics or Motorola earpieces though.
At one point, I thought I was having better luck with a DaG barebones rom. I like TF3D too much though...

HTC HD2 Bluetooth Carkit hang up bug...

Hey Guys, i'm hoping you can help me.
I have searched this forum and couldnt find anyone that has the same bug as me. I apologize in advance if there is a thread already that discusses this.
I have a Ford Mondeo Titanium X 58plate. Bluetooth syncs up and sends/receives calls great, however When I try to hang up the call it crashes. Is anyone having the same problem?
I upgraded my o2 HTC phone to the latest 1.66 rom and I still get the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.
I too have the same issue. I have a Mondeo Zetec and suffer from the same issue. After hanging up, the phone continually tries to connect and disconnect and the only way to stop it is to turn off bluetooth completely. I logged the problem with HTC and they were trying working on the problem howver I havent heard anything from them for 3 weeks. Im considering changing the bluetooth stack on the phone but arent sure how and with which stack.
I heard that changing the stack to the Microsoft default causes other issues. Let me know if you get a response from HTC regarding a fix. I dont even bother connecting the phone to the car anymore because it just crashes everytime i get a call, its so frustrating.
This is the response I got from HTC:
We can never guarantee that our products will be compatible with car kits or bluetooth headsets.
There are different ROM versions of Windows Mobile 6.5.
It might be that this product is not 100% compatible with this specific car kit.
When it comes to upgrades and updates then you will have to contact O2 for them to provide the upgrades for you.
Best regards,

Probably a generic answer to everyone.
Same issue/possible fix
I have a Titanium X sport exactly the same issue.
I was told a couple of days ago if you switch off Data connection in Wireless controls in Settings it helps and I have tested a few times and this does seem to work.
I have not had an opertunity to test thoroughly and would be interested to here if it helps you

[Q] People cant hear me when I am using iPhone headset !!

Hi All,
Coming from a solid iPhone background, this is the first time I have fully jumped on the Android ship.
So far, I have really enjoyed the large screen, the custom keyboard and how fast the device is.
However, I use my mobile for work related conference calls with a headset and since getting this phone people are ALWAYS telling me my voice has gone quiet:crying:
I have searched the internet and can see others have reported similar issues and even Google have acknowledged it:
**cant post links!**
My question is if this is related to CTIA vs OMTP headsets? ie maybe I need a CTIA headset and that will sort the mic issue?
Can anyone confirm which headset they have that works perfectly (ie people can hear them)?
thanks in advance
i have this issue too.
google, i know you see this(u the biggest xda digging) : you have lot of problems :'(

I often use the white earpods that Apple started giving with the iPhone 5 launch. I use it for long conference calls, have no issues with voice/sound through the headset whatsoever.
Maybe troubleshoot? Clearly if 2 people are having a problem, it's not your headsets, but perhaps try a new pair or see if it's different between cell phones and landlines?
I using earpods too. Mabye you Satisfied, so you dont have any issue. I looked out the internet and found more ppl having this issue.
