How can I send file via BT to other phone - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

How can I send file via BT to other phone?
I have MDA compact. In MDA 3 I used resco explorer - "send to>Bluetooth" in MDA compact I dont't see this option in menu "send to".
How can I send file to other phone via BT?
Have you any programs?
I'm Waiting for answer

just turn bluetooth on on both devices, in file explorer on the mini click 'beam file' now this will search bluetooth and IR for a device near by.

Yeah.
Resco Explorer doesn't currently support the Microsot Bluetooth stack.
After asking them, they emailed that they may support it in an upcoming release.
So you have to use the built-in File Explorer for now.

Reso Explorer 2003 v5.14 supports sending files directly by BT !!

Resco Explorer is the answer. Try Resco 2007. It has got an FTP client. I use the same on my Vox. I do connect to my webserver and do upload/download successfully.

Try Total Commander. It has got a Registry editor and text editor aswell as FTP and file explorer. It's free too.
Roland
Resco can only download from ftp server. I need upload too.
Total commander doesn't connect to my server. Some port problems:O Everything on ftp server is just like casual (port 21 etc, very simple).
Does anyone use some other application to upload files to ftp servers?

Using Resco, you can definitely upload too. There is no upload command. You need to use Edit -> Copy and Paste Command. In detail:
1. Select the file which you want to upload.
2. Select Action Menu. Then chose Edit -> Copy.
3. Now go to Menu -> Favorites -> My FTP Locations.
4. Connect to the Server, which you may have already configured.
5. Go to the folder in server, where you want to upload the file.
6. Then select Action -> Edit -> Paste.
The file gets uploaded. That's it. It works for me.
did not know resco could do that...
thanks.

Welcome mate. In fact, I found out this capability of Resco, in desperation. Once, I had left office for the day, after sending a confirmation email to client, thinking that the shipment (software) to the client is completely done and uploaded to the server. After half an hour, while sitting in train I realized that I forgot to upload some of the required files, without which client wud have hardly been able to do anything with the shipment. Luckily, I had taken the backup of the project in my Vox. Opened Resco and tried to find out a way somehow. Finally, just tried the above mentioned practise and I was thru. That day realized, if you are desperate, there will always be a way to success.
Thank You.
PS. I just figured out it myself and came here to tell my story about resco and uploading but like I see I am too late

ActiveSync 4.5 does not support database synchronization

I need to synchronize my Touch Cruise with Microsoft Access on my PC desktop but who develops database (SprintDB, f.e.) writes me:
"there is no way to synchronize database files on Windows Mobile 6 because Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 does not support database sync"
It is unbelievable, my old pda with Palm OS (no Windows!) was more compatible with Microsoft that this one with Windows Mobile create by microsoft ????
There is some experienced that can help me to resolve this problem?
There's no Pocket Access, so what's the point in syncing it?
Unfortunately with the version 6 of Windows Mobile and 4,5 of Active Sync have disappeared Pocket Access what it converted the files .mdb in to .cdb
ActiveSync 4.1 (or maybe it was 4.0) supports database sync with WM2003. However, WM6 does not have the proper conduits, in fact no version has since WM2003. WM5 can be been hacked to support database syncing. So I assume WM6 can be too. I don't know this alone will do it, you may then have to hack ActiveSync 4.5 to include (if they are indeed excluded) whatever database conduits ActiveSync 4.1 and before have.
These instructions may apply to WM6 also. (Original thread can be found here: http://www.tierramapper.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10)
The following steps will enable Windows Mobile 5 devices using Active Sync 4.x to create Pocket Access (.cdb) databases by copying and pasting a PC Access database to an Active Sync connected Pocket PC device.
Microsoft, by default dropped this functionality when upgrading from PPC 2003 to Windows Mobile 5.0. The following will re-enable this feature.
*This procedure is only required for Windows Mobile 5.0 users.
1. Copy the 4 files in the http://www.TierraMapper.com/Downloads/WindowsMobile5PocketAccess.zip file to your Pocket PC in the \Windows directory.
2. Register the adosync.dll. From your Pocket PC, open File Explorer and navigate the \Windows\Regsvrce.exe file. Click on this file and type the full path to the adosync.dll, \Windows\adosync.dll, and click OK.
3. On the desktop, remove the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\SpecialDefaults\PocketPC04\Services\Synchronization\Objects\~MicrosoftTable
4. Disconnect and reconnect the PPC device before "Pocket Access" sync enabled.
You are now ready to copy an Access database to your Pocket PC and Active Sync will prompt you with the Pocket Access (.cdb) conversion dialog as in PPC 2003.

it's problematic when there are so many stronger database applications than Pocket Access such as Borland...
Possibility
Could this be a similar issue for me?

Thank you.
Thank's Sonus but you write:
"3. On the desktop, remove the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\SpecialDefaults\PocketPC04\Services\Synch ronization\Objects\~MicrosoftTable "
but regretfully the key ~MicrosoftTable doesn't exist in my registries. I only find:
~Appointment
~Contact
~Merlin Mail
~Task
Media
Do I perhaps have to add it instead of removing it?
I have read the forum to the link tierramapper and TierraMa talk only about WM 5. I have WM6 instead.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I have the ~MicrosoftTable entry in my PC's registry. Don't create the entry though. Instead try following steps 1 and 2, make sure that the "Convert files when synchronized, copied, or moved" box is checked in ActiveSync "Tools>Advanced Tools>Edit File Conversion Settings..." and then copy an MS Access database file (*.mdb file) to your Touch Cruise using activesync. Report back to us as to whether or not you then get prompted to setup a database sync.

In order:
1. I have performed the points 1 and 2 correctly on device;
2. i have just flagged the "convert files" in "acive sync 4.5 build 5096;
3. in tools of Active Sync, for "microsoft Office Access Application" in the setting folder "conversione from PC to device" i see: type of file of PC = .mdb, type of file of device = .mdb (i try to modify in .cdb but it is no possible!);
4. with right click in setting icon "file" in Active Sync i added a sample of .mdb file microsoft access 2000/2003;
5. i can see this file in folder "C:\Documents and Settings\battocch\My Documents\HTC_P3650 My Documents\" on my desktop PC with XP;
6. i syncronize PC and device;
7. after syncronisation i see again the file .mdb in personal folder of PC but there is not anything in the device.
I try even to reinstall Active Sync but nothung it is changed.
Step 3 is the issue. Earlier versions of ActiveSync would allow for a conversion of mdb to cdb when copying database files. This would then allow for a sync relationship. My guess would be to try an earlier version of ActiveSync (4.1 or earlier)...
I haven't used it but Handbase appears to sync with access:

Well, i have same situation in my office, my desktop computer runs Windows 2008 server, and the only way i found to connect my PDA was install VMWare Workstation and use a guest OS with Vista or XP and connect the PDA to the guest OS instead to host...
Cheers
Why don 't you try MyMobile software (freeware)? Then you can see (like remote desktop) your mobile 's screen and use your PC keyboard and mouse to write SMS. You don 't even need Active Synch. Use IP connection.
http://www.mymobiler.com/
I use mymobiler and it works, but its very slow (USB).....(I´am writing
10fingers.....) If I type too fast, the phone doesn´t become the input....
I use Pocket Controller Pro, and it's awesome!!!(fast, includes explorer, regedit, skins, etc..), it's not free but worth it.

dashwire
Use a website called www.dashwire.com. I just registered yesterday and it is awesome.
Basically, you register on the site, install an app on your touch pro, and then the app backs up all your contacts, sms, etc (you can choose which) and sends them to the site, where you can read and reply. If you write an sms on the website, it sends the details to your touch pro via the internet, then sends the sms from your touch pro. Cool eh?

Very cool indeed....except that hopefuly you realize that you are deliberately providing more than personal information to a company you probably don't know at all. Ever wondered why it's free? No ads, no nothing? No way anybody makes any money from this service...but most likely is resseling all the info you share...just read the disclaimer of this shady company...anyway, if I were you I would immediatelly shut it down! Am not sure how much you are familiar with legal lingo, but the wording of terms of use is leaving more than enough space for them to do pretty much anything with your information.
Call me paranoid, but this is NO GO for me. Just like "wonderful" Facebook, which I personally call the biggest privacy scam in the history....
Just saying...
ahh, without the option "USB to PC" fast sync Jeyo works fine also with Windows Server 2008 Now, I´m happy Thanks for help!

Can't save/open cab email attachments WM6.1

I'm new to WM6 and I'm sure my WM5 Universal let me save cab attachments to my card so I could install them, but my HTC Touch Pro 2 won't allow me to access an attached cab 'for security reasons'
There is no advanced setting I can change to allow me to access them - why do they treat us like morons?
So I put it in a zip but although the received email on my TP2 is the right size no attachment is shown :-(
So I had a brainwave and thought I'd just rename the cab a ms friendly doc before emailing it to my phone - but of course the standard file browser can't rename extensions and I haven't loaded a 3rd party file manager yet (maybe I'll email myself the cab for one....)
John
why u emailing the cabs to yourself, use bluetooth or even better active sync
cos its easier
failed miserably to get by Vista to send files by bluetooth to my TP2 and can't find my cable.
I'd use wifi but how do you do that with Vista? I have to transfer from my Vista to my XP networked the only way possible as a netwoirk drive, then wifi from there.
Email is far easier if pocket outlook didn't think it knew better :-(
Got Resco Explorer now so email my files as .docs , funnily enough half of then don't show up as attachments on my phone. hmmph
set up bluetooth share folder properly in your tp2 settings. that way when u bluetooth ur cab it will be saved directly in that folder.
U can specify where that folder is, (device or card).
If u install advanced config (search for it here) u can set it to keep the cab after install, for future reference.

Treo and SMS
Hello,
I am the CEO for SynergeTech Solutions, the makers of Windows Mobile SMS Sync. For some reason, Palm decided to build their own proprietary SMS software for their Windows Mobile phones. Any application built to use the default Windows Mobile SMS data store will therefore return zero messages as they are not stored there for these devices.
At one time, Palm offered an SDK that possibly would have contained the APIs needed to interface with their proprietary message store for SMS. Unfortunately, they seem not to offer it anymore and I have been unable to get a response form them for guidance on obtaining it.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no backup/export applications in existence that can interface with these devices. If I am incorrect, or if anyone has the Palm Windows Mobile SDK, I would love to be corrected. My company is actively working on adding support for Palm devices and I will be sure to update this thread as soon as a Palm compatible version of Windows Mobile SMS Sync is released.
Thanks,

SMS Backup
I too have been looking for a "sync" utility for SMS for the Treo 750.
Haven't found one yet, but I backup my messages to my PC simply by copying the message database. The SMS database is one file named PalmMsgV001 in the windows directory. Using ActiveSync Explorer on your PC it's as simple as "copy and paste".
synergetech solutions is a joke!
crappy customer service. mostly all reviews of their products seem like "paid" reviews. f'n crap company.
mr. "ceo" wannabe. step up your game.
