Hi guys.
I did it... i screwed up my QTek S100! I tried to upgrade it, maybe the wrong files, dunno... now it is *dead* ! I only get a dark screen with "SERIAL V1.00" or "USB V1.00" if docked (should be bootloader mode). Nothing else.
Would you please be so kind as to help me in recovering from the disaster ? I do not have any backup, nor ROMs. I own a 512 MMC.
I would need English Roms... pleeeese !!

Do you still have the files you used to upgrade? What's the name of the file?
Also, leave the info on your previous ROM.
I had the same problem with my Qtek S100 when upgrading it with the new firmware. The upgrade process stopped/crashed the first time leaving my unit in the same state you're describing. But, what I did was simply to run the upgrade utility again and then it worked fine the second time.
I don't know where you're from but if you have a swedish unit like me you can get the latest upgrade utlity from this adress:

Oh! I have tried all "QTEK ROM WORKS" recent methods. I always get that Country Code Error and I do not saved the previous GetDeviceData output.

Looks like the same happened to me. Try to open battery cover (or remove battery for several second. Then put everything back and push Power button. Does it turns on (with hard reset)?
Nope buddy! The OS is gone! Whatever I try to do, it always starts in Bootloader mode (Serial V1.00/USB V1.00).
Try removing the battery for 30 minutes (or whatever time it takes for the backup battery to discharge). That should recover your previous configuration although I haven't tested it.

I would like to try upgrading my JAM...but now I`m affraid a little bit... :roll: Have U tried to update with the latest S100 ROM...the swedish one?...or the I-mate JAM WWE ROM...?

Is there a way to make a backup of my rom?
I have the qtek s100 with english rom.
Purchased seperate.
rom 1.03.00 WWE
radio 1.05.00 (upgraded)
extrom 1.03.100 WWE
Had the same issue with my radio version upgrade.
Scared the hell out of me ...
Backlight did not lit up ...
And an error apeared on my pc ...
But I was able to upload it when I tried again and the sync program of ms was killed.
If anyone knows how to make a working back-up ...

When you do a hard reset, you do exactly the same.
So I think it's all gone.
why not dump the os to sd card, ntrw to pc and then put the nb1 fille in the ftp........

It is confirmed to have fixed the speed issues, now it is very usable
Im sure there will be others to test and post the results but for now any Atom users with 20051129B2 ROM I recommend they should definately upgrade now before they smash it in walls hehe..

Hi Guys,
I've just upgraded my Atom to the new Rom, it took about 25 minutes.
First Impressions -
1. Atom's quite quick and responsive now!
2. FM Radio reception has improved.
3. Camera loads lot quicker then before and load on landscape mode now.
4. Lots of other minor improvements.
Biggest disappointment for me is - No changes to the memory structure, I was really hoping for improvement here! But maybe on the next Rom
Anyway, I think I will keep my Atom as this upgrade has improved things.
Download the Rom and enjoy guys!!!

As long as you get through the verifying stage of the upgrade I think it would be ok... if not then i dont think you'll get pass the verify stage.
Downloaded the update but everytime I update everything goes ok but in the end it show this dialog please advice:

I tried everything word to word but everytime it gets stuck at stage 4 - update radio stack please wait.. I thought there may be some corruption in the downloaded file so i tried downloading it again but i think there r too many downloads clogging so it is not completing, if somecould upload to the ftp here it would be a huge favour... pls advice advice as i bought the atom just yesterday !!
funny thing is I finally could login to the o2 site & register my product, but the site says there is no update available to my product ??? I had checked the rom could it be that the radio version was the proble ?? Any ways I could do something now get old old from somewhere ?
I just updated too, I reserved judgement for a few days. Viwake, did you have the phone turned on when you started. I noticed that when the phone is turned off the software can't get the radio version, perhaps thats the problem.
1st time i did it was on, now its stuck on update utility & when I connect usb it says USB connected & carries the update till the radio part & stop with the error, still have'nt being able to redownload the rom so will not know whether its rom corrupt though it does not give any checksum errors but when I open with winrar it only open 1 file - EBOOT.nb0 of 524 kb & stops aany advice would be highly appreciated

hi all, i have encounter the same problem. now i can use my atom. it seems to always hang on the updating screen. anyone got patch to fix or can help to retify the problem? i'm guess there is some radio rom conflict...

I was doing it half way when it hung on me.. after removing and restarting, I found that the unit cannot boot up to WM5.. I notice that there isn't any ROM left in my unit.. How do I continue from here?

Hi All,
The rom's great, I installed it on my friend's sp5m but he started facing all the bugs pointed out earlier. I faced a different one: 'missed call' list is not being updated. The screen shows a missed call but no entry is found.
Anyways, now he's insisting to downgrade to the original rom. i downloaded it from ftp.clubimate.com but it's giving me a file write error (see attached image).
Please can u guys just walk me through the process like a newbie? Thanks in advance!

I did, but at the point where it's getting information about my smartphone, it gives the "file write error"

Just had to hard reset before running imate rom. Back to WM5, but not for long!
sorry can someone confirm.. i can upgrade to wm6.. and go back to Wm5 anytime just by flashing the normal i-mate wm5 rom?

Yes, I flashed Phil's WM6 rom and after that went back to wm5 through imate rom. The key is to hard-reset before flashing back to wm5.

well phil's currently working on the beta II of his rom that'll remove a lot of bugs. memory issues etc. my phone got really slow and the 'missed calls' list not being updated was a real turn-off. Loved the rom and will definitely go back once the final version is released.

Read the wiki for complete answers...but in short:

2.radio version is like the part of the phone that has to manage the "communicating part" of the phone....like making calls, receiving the signal, calls quality.wi-fi, bluetooth...etc..Different radio versions do different performances of the phone...and some seems to improve battery life.
3. Classic is for Pda (touchscreen) without "Phone capability", Professional "is for PDA(touchscreen)-Phones", Standard is for smartphone (non touchscreen)
4. ROM is the "mass-memory" part of the phone...where you store the Operating System and programs..if you have enough space ( think of it like the Hard disc of the OS for a pc). WWE means standard english version.
5. Read the wiki....basically. Backup of your data (contacts, sms etc..)>backup of the rom (optional)> Unlock> Flash SPL> Flash rom. Easier and quicker than it seems.
6. NO soft reset is a normal reset of the phone.Like you do when you shut it off, and then you power it on. Data is still there. HARD RESET...Deletes all your data...it's like having a phone just flashed with a ROM...(or in a PC when you have just formatted your hard drive and then reinstalled your Operating System)

Where will i get latest official rom for my vox, i m not able to download it frm htc site. It says that the update is not for my device S/N.... Plz help, can any one give me a direct download link frm any other site like media fire, rapidshare etc..
look in the xda-wiki...also in the vOx page...there are a lot of roms, but i'm not sure You'll find the latest...(1.34) maybe.

With official roms you don't have to do the whole USPL thing...just plug it ot your USB cable (check that ActiveSync is connected) and start flashing.
BTW if you flash cooked roms...you have to do USPL,
Normally if you flash USPL than you can flash every cooked rom without worries, and without do the USPL thing every time...just the first
BTW if you flash a OFFICIAL rom after a cooked rom you restore again USPL.
So the next time you have tu USPL again.

but i did'nt understand..... As rom is a .exe file how can i extract a files frm it...... I dont knw....help me if u can......tht would be great....thanks in advance.

If you execute the exe file, it will give you the ROM image file, a nbh file. That IS the ROM file actually, others are just tools to write that nbh to your device thru activesync.

Thanks to all u guys, who suffered me. Sorry for the trouble tht i gave u. Finally i flashed my vox with fhm's win6.5 rom. Till now its working fine except wht i noticed is tht the bluetooth is not working properly, if any of u guys who is not fedup of me can help me out.... I dont knw abt wifi as i did'nt checked it yet. And accu weather is also not working..... Help needed......
