I had a great deal of trouble getting together the finer details on the specs of the 2i and 2s. I guess there are probably others in this situation so I thought Id post this fantastic little chart here
http://www.my-xda.com/comp.html
hope it helps someone - It helped me find out that HTC in all there wisdom have released 2 products that should have been one the 2i camera, processor, and flash memory all belong in the 2s to complement its QWERTY keyboard and extra programable buttons or vise versa!!!!!
I am replacing XDA II to get wifi - should I get 2i or 2s
Its called "marketing".

What would all our Learned friends Menneisyys, Bulldog, Mr Zach, Kramerica2 et al buy or upgrade to.
After using the original Pocket PC and the the Universal I'm at loss of what to get.
Functional like the Universl with the business functionality and keyboard and the decent sized screen All the latest offerings are aimed at a totally different market. What about a HTC P6500?
TV out would also be useful.
Your advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It´s hard for Uni users to decide what´s next....
I don´t think any model can called a Uni succesor by now, seems like HTC and others forgot about this model.
Yes you can have touch pro with a keyboard and nice but the screen size is terrible! on other side you have the G1 with a promisor OS but very limitated by now; also the HD that I think it´s the best candidate for renew with a very nice screen and quiality and speed, design. Only bad point no keyboard...
Good luck

Yep you are right. Maybe we will have to resort to the HD with a foldaway keyboard. Pity it does not have TV out for Powerpoint presentations! No one seems certain on memory 256 or 1 GIG?
Thanks calli
Hello
Got some screenshots..enjoy them..will post more..in some days.
G sensor can be hacked to used with other apps from registry.
Any questions, pls feel free to ask here
can you give some feedback about the performance and how much did you pay for it?
performance is better than omia and i guess better than all existing devices using msm 7200a except HTC HD..It is a testing uni. pricing is not known yet
Hi hdubli, is Mr. Broadcom again... Any thought about my search?
User22. sorry no Mr Broadcom but MS.But the registry do have some entries reg the broadcom..however u can have a look at mr Bluesolil
Any feedback on the trackball effectiveness?
How does the fake leather on the front effect the design?
Is that a flash or speaker on the back near camera? where is the speaker?
Size, will it fit well in a jeans front pocket- or will it feel bulky(too long)?
Battery life with 2-3 calls 10 minutes GSM and in general in hours?
How soon will we see it for sale?

how would you do that in the registry? I got a P835 and the autorotation works for a limited applications only. I am also trying to make it work with apps that were build for HTC g-sensors.
Someone manage to port the HTC g-sensor wrapper to Omnia. I tried the wrapper (a few dll's) but does not work at all. I am hoping there will be developers that will look into this Asus wrapper.
Camera and related
There is no flash on the back, the speaker there seems mono and a weak one at that, camera has given me noisy pics so far, have to try it out in full day light yet, trackball is good, This is one thing that made me buy it over HTC Diamond II. I have not been able to find a good MP4 player for it yet.
On the positive side, I removed the default today addins and added PointUI. The black look of that interface goes well with the P835 design.
The phone is responsive with enough memory to spare. Though I feel let down by the lack of main storage as a lot of application add on to the Windows folder. Any help in that department is greatly appreciated (Extendir ? any body got a CAB installer for it that works on P835, I can test it if somebody can provide it for me).
Thanks HDUBLI, you have been a great contributor for the ASUS.
Guys what did you think about this pda? Plan to get one. But I heard from other forum that they said the touch scree will fail, means the stylus can't detachable on the screen.
Hello all hope u are fine
I'm looking forward to buy a new Pocket PC phone, and my choice is between TOUCH PRO 2 and TOUCH DIAMOND 2,so i have some questions.
1_How is the build quality of this phones?
2_How is audio quality of this phones(in both loudspeaker and headset)? how do they compare to Nokia N95 8GB(My current phone)?
3_In the benchmarks i saw,it seems TD2 is a little faster than TP2,is that right ?
4_How is the screen sensitivity of these phones?
5_Overall which one do u choose between them?
thanks
I would recommend to enter to D2 and TP2 section and read user comments.
Personally I prefer TP2 because it´s hardware keyboard wich is a must for me
Good luck,
Well i first wanted to ask in TP2 and TD2 section but it would be a double post thats why i asked here
It really depends on what you prefer.
Like orb3000 mentioned the TP2 has a keyboard. For many thats the core factor in deciding between the two phones.
The TP2 has a bigger screen, longer battery life, g-sensor and straightalk which provides better audio. The downside against diamond 2 is it only has 3.2 megapixel camera but i'm sure the others mentioned above surely compensate for that.
If you use the search button or google you will be able to find some info
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-503730.html
This pdf offers a very good comparison of info
http://www.mobilitydigest.com/applications/Comparison.pdf
I personally would get and also recommend getting TP2
but hey its all up to your personal preference and budget

The go here and do a do a comparative!

Hi there
I am not sure what to purchase in the near future.
HTC H2 or HTC Dragon (all I can say is that I need a unit with large display 4" to 4.8".
What I use the most is: navi, camera with flush, email and the rest is not that important.
So, please give me your advice. With one is better, faster, and useful to purchase from this two
Many thanks in advance
That will depend if you prefer Android or WM
Here a detailed comparative:
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=1783&id2=2067
Personally I prefer to stick to WM
The HD2 is out on the market! The Dragon is still on the drawing board...
HTC H2 or Dragon
Many thanks..kook's that HD2 is better as comparison with Dragon.
I only hope that with release of WM 7, finally tilting your unit will also tillt all paps. (rotate automatically) and Google maps will create also a version as good as the one in Android phones.
Regards

hey guys help me with ur views and suggestions.
Spice MI-410 (Rebranded Huawei IDEOS U9000 X6) - 13K -- Nothing beats this for value for money - 4.1" 800x480 Screen, Qualcomm MSM8255, Adreno 205GPU, 5MP Cam with Flash, 512MB RAM.
HTC Desire (Not S / HD) - 15-16K
Motorola Defy - 15K
If you are ready to consider 'mid range' devices, the range of choices grows a lot. You can then include Galaxy Ace, Wildfire S, ChaCha, Dell XCD35, Huawei U8800 X5. But, if I were to buy a phone today at 15K, I would pick one from the 1st 3. (Inclining more and more to the Spice, but, sadly, there's no section for it at XDA - Yet)

thanks,
is spice (Huawei IDEOS U9000 X6) reliable in terms of hardware and stuff ? i'm not able to get desire for 15-16k (dealers in delhi are quoting around 20k !!!!). i checked out defy but it seems to lag especially while scrolling up and down the screen...
was in dilemma so posted here for help.
The X6 should be reliable, I don't see why not. Besides, it is backed by the normal manufacturer warranty.
Desire was on stock at Flipkart.com for 16.5K but is unfortunately not in stock ATM.
Saholic.com lists the Desire as in Stock though at 15.5K, and, since they are a Spice initiative, the MI-410 is also available exclusively through them online (For 14K - as I stated above). Only thing - You'll have to be comfortable buying a phone online.
For the Defy, I have tested it quite a lot(A friend of mine has it), and, frankly, I haven't felt any lag at all. Then again, maybe its because I have a Wildfire, and everything other than it will feel fast.
Good Luck
