Cannot Syncronise contacts, calendar and tasks in ActiveSync - General Topics

Hi guys.
Have a problem with activesync whereby i cannot Syncronise contacts, calendar and tasks off my xda.
It has been working fine for about 9 months but suddenly will no longer work!
Just downloaded activesync 3.7.1 again but still no good. Have checked any firewalls but that doesn't seem to be the issue either!
When i do re-install activesync i get the following message box saying that they are not installed! I cannot see how to enable them. At the moment it will only syncronise my inbox and favorites.
Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance

Weird, I have the same problem even though it's been working for months. I thought it may be something windows has auto updated.

Yeah, mine was working fine until the last week. Has anyone else experiened this or have a fix.
Currently running windows xp.

Fixed it!!!!!!
Swapped my Cradle into another USB port and.......
Just re-paired Microsoft Office XP with the office disk (separate problem!).
Not sure how it fixed it but it did! Just try swapping the cable into another USB port, that might work out for you.

cant get activesync to work.

hi, i have and xda II with wm 5.0
and i just cant get activesync to work.
at the beginning, it worked, i had office 2003 and as 4.1 (from buzzdev) installed.
then i switched to office 12 beta and it still worked.
after some time, i installed norton 2006.
and some days later, i saw, that activesync was giving me the error code 85010014.
im not sure, if it is because of norton.
i searched and found out that it may be something with exchange servers, but i do not have an exchange server.
then i uninstalled norton.
i didnt work.
i did a hardreset and cleaned the registry and formated the xda II.
i didnt work.
i reinstalled activesync
it didnt work
i reinstalled office 12 beta
it didn work
i uninstalled office 12 beta and installed outlook 2003 + sp2.
it didnt work.
i reinstalled activesync (4.1 from ms homepage)
it didnt work.
i reinstalled and rebooted and deleted the paths of as and office a couple of times, but no luck.
does anyone have any ideas how to solve he problem?
my windows firewall is disabled and i have no other firewalls / av scanners installed atm.
Hi there
What excatly happens?
I.E Does active sync not find your phone?
-Does it pick up the phone?
-Is there an error?
-Did the phone perform active sync prior to you installing wm5?
-Have you been able to perform an active sync with another phone/pda?
Please describe excatly what happens if anything?
Sorry for sounding repetitive.

i was able to sync with wm5, but suddenly it stopped working.
How many Mistakes can a man do? Beta Software on the work machine? NORTON??? OMG!!!
I think there is still trash from the Norton Trash on your System.
I had this problem yesterday.
I had to uninstall ActiveSync completely. Once reinstalled it worked fine.
Firewall ........??????? see ms webpage acitive sync FAQ
i reinstalled windows and reinstalled al the software, (including norton 2006 and office 12 beta) and now everything runs fine.
got the same problem again.
i installed office 12 at first.
then i installed püowerpoint 2003.
and after i installed powerpoint 2003 the error occured again.
i think that is quite weird, because powerpoint should not have anything to do with outlook.
ActivevSync/Calendar Problem
Hi,
I have an XDA IIs - ROM version 1.40.00 WWE - which I had installed
recently. I am having trouble sync-ing my calendar items on my Windows
XP/Office 2003 PC with the XDA. It was all working fine till last week
and now it seems to have stopped working.
Activesync shows the calendar option as disabled. I am able to sync
everthing else including MS Money 2006. Does anyone know what could be
wrong/how to resolve this problem.
[ Between the time I synced my calendar last time and now, I installed
SPB Plus and uninstalled it - I dont know if that could have caused a
problem. It did make my Voice Command 1.5 stop responding and I had to
reinstall ]
TIA
Nirmal.

Active Sync Nightmare!

I am having real problems with Microsoft’s Active Sync 3.8.
Both on my laptop at home and on my pc at work.
I have lost count the number of times it fails to recognise the partnership and I have to recreate it! When it does, if forgets which PC the partnership was on and won’t let me connect to both!
Now it won’t sync the calendar for some reason!
I have tried to uninstall it and re-install wit no joy. I have tried Microsoft  I have tried their newsgroups
I am wary about trying 4.1 ?
The only alternatives seem to rely on a version of AS to start with, but are there any other programmes, that don't rely on active sync and that work better?

I'm running 4.1 very sucessfully. Granted I've got a Himalaya, not a Magician.
Why not give 4.1 a try ... see if it works for you. If it doesn't, you can always uninstall and try something else.
I too would love to see something besides MS AS available - but haven't found anything thus far
So very sadly active sync 4.1 has not solved the problem!
Now i don't know which way to turn.
1.Could it be a problem with my PC at work or Laptop at home, if so do rebuild them both?
2.Could it be problem with active sync (version), therefore I don't know who to contact at Microsoft!
3.Could it be a problem witht he device its self, therefore is it HTC I contact, again!
A final though is to return this back to T-Mobile, ha ha!
so3,
did you start off using the Magician with ActiveSync 3.8? Maybe trying an older version would work:

ActiveSync & Outlook 2003: No new Emails or Contacts

I have a strange problem with my Prophet and Outlook 2003:
whenever my Prophet ist connected (USB) with my Desktop PC ActiveSync blocks some Outlook buttons: I can't reply to emails, can't forward them or even write new mails. It's not possible to change anything in the calendar or in the contacts. As soon as I pull out my USB-cable and restart Outlook again everything works fine until I reconnect it.
Furthermore Activesync only transfers changes from the desktop to the Prophet, not the other way round. Reinstalling Outlook and Activesync didn't change anything. I already installed Activesync 4.5 beta, but it still remains the same.
The Problem didn't occur right form the first Installation. After a few weeks it just was there.
Did anybody here already have the same problem and know a solution?
Thanks a lot
XS Ebbe
PS: I already tried the search, but I couldn't find anything useful for my problem.
Really nobody else with the same problem?
That makes me feel like I'm really special.

Problem with syncing (but not exploring?!!)

Hi,
I have an O2 XDA Trion running WM6 (standard O2 release), and Windows XP with Outlook 2003 and ActiveSync 4.5.
Rom Version: 3.54.206.1
ROM date: 06/25/07
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
I've been synching my data for months now without any issue, but something just stopped working today?
When I plug it in via USB I get an error message saying that 'Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Please reconnect and try again, etc.'.
I can explore the contents of my device, but not synchronize, and a third party app will even synch, but nothing from Outlook, and quite a lot of the options in ActiveSync are greyed out (though I can still explore via ActiveSync).
When I look at the ActiveSync application on my phone, it looks as if it's never been set up to Sync, and tells me that I need to install ActiveSync on my PC.
I have done a repair install of Activesync 4.5, I've rebooted the PC, I've switched the phone off and on again (fully). Nothing changes. I have (as advised) reconnected several times.
I've not knowingly done anything to either of them in the last few days, which was when it last worked.
I couldn't find anything on the forum on this topic, but if you can refer me to previous issues like this then I'll go have a look.
Thanks,
Joe
fixed!
Hi,
I just wanted to say that I deleted the sync partnership on the PC and created a new one, and it worked after that!
There was an initial problem where it refused to sync again, but since a soft reset it's all been going fine.
I'll keep an eye on it still as I'm a little suspicious, and I don't know what caused the problem!

Touch Pro & WMDC

I have been working around the WMDC version 6.1.6965 for x64. I could connect my Touch Pro and even browes the folders & files but I could not setup a partnership (i.e. sync with Outlook)!
I am running Vista Ultimate x64 and Office 2007 including Outlook. Everytime I connect and try to setup the connection an error triggers "There is a problem with your connection. Please disconnect and reconnect your device and try again"!
I tried every possible solution but non worked. Searched the forum for a stright-forward answer but with no progress.
Any help?
I've got the same setup you have except I'm running Office 2003. Are you syncing using bt or the usb cable? I generally have much better luck using the usb cable. Also, if you've already fixed this, does it now work with Office 2007?
I think this could fix
I was having the same problem and I downloaded the WMDC from the microsoft web site and it is solved. wish you all luck

Mine works no problem....same exact set up....been running it since the Mogul...acts uo every now and then....make sure you delete all the partnerships and re-connect....
same problem
I'm having the same problem and I have tried everything. I have uninstalled wmdc restarted, cleared reg keys, and reinstalled. Still the same problem. It started when I flashed ROM's, but after I flashed back to the OEM ROM it still is happening. Any ideas?
i had the same issue as you and fixed it.
delete the connection from the PC, and delete the connection from the ppc.
so that both have no synced computers/ppc
ok, how i uninstalled wmdc..
uninstall both the driver, and the program from the pc using the remove programs..
then go into windows/windows mobile
and delete as much as you can from the windows mobile folder
(you wont be able to delete all of it)
then rename the directory.
i just renamed Windows mobile to trash
then i got on the net and re-installed wmdc
but mine had nothing to do with the ppc or wmdc.
it had to do with..... HTC album 2.5
when installed on the ppc, it would not allow any outlook data to sync.
once i uninstalled it from the ppc all was fine.
try that.
you will be surprised on what programs interfere with different things.
but before you uninstall this and that, check to see what version of HTC album your running.
if 2.5.... try uninstalling it and seeing.
when i uninstalled it, i didnt even reset my ppc and it worked.
PS it took me 3 days and numerous Hard resets to figure this one out.
hope it helps.
".make sure you delete all the partnerships and re-connect...."
how to delete the partnerships in WMDC (in PC not the PPC)? i already search it in all the control panel and the WMDC itself. (in PC)
can u give some screenshoot? it might be in FORUM STICKY if it works right.
PS:
btw anyone can flash in VIsta 64Bit? until now i couldn't make it, just until the Prophet go white blank then no respond at all
anyone please reply the problem please...
it can be sticky for all the world best solution for WMDC sucks!!!

sorry my dear friend but my WMDC can't even make any Sync Partnership so how could i delete it?
when i'm gonna connect it with my Prophet WIn6.1 it recognize it but when i want to setup any Sync it then came the error "Connection Problem, Please Disconnect and Reconnect"
then it make me months just to watch it can't sync anymore T-T
i already uninstall it both the Driver Update and WMDC itself, the remove all files in Windows/ Window Mobile but not all file can be deleted, so i rename the folder. then Reinstall again but still the same problem. the last thing i haven't try is to reinstall my OS which is Vista Ultimate SP2 64bit. coz i haven't got any clue how to pack all my update so can use it again after clean install. can u suggest any program or how to pack all my update?
sorry if this is really Out Of Topic. really appreciate the help and the time. thanks.
