XDA II with non responsive screen for sale with extras. - General Topics

As topic says, I have XDA II with a screen that shows no visible damage, but is unresponsive for sale. Comes with nice Javaskin case, stylus, docking cradle and some programs.
Took the dive and bought an Imate Jam, so its sitting here looking for a new owner. Looking for bids around the 120 quid mark. Any questions feel free to email me.
Cheers

Broken Screen

Help ,
Does anyone know where you can get a replacement screen for my XDA 64MB original type from
Had an accident this morning
Can it be user replaced also .
Any help would be most appreciated
Regards
Paul
ebay is always a good bet for replacement screens
I just replaced my screen a couple of weeks ago. I bought just the outer touch screen from PDASmart.com for $75 and it turned out great.
It was somewhat of a chore "cutting" the outer screen off, but it just takes some patience. They gave some great instructions and I thought $75 was a good deal.

Hope this helps.

Broken Screen: Million Dollars Question PLEASE READ!!!

I have recently broke my XDA screen.
Does anybody know if the screen of the IPAQ 3630 is the same as the XDA? Is there any hardware modification to be done or the connectors are ALL the same?
People at Microsoft told me the Wallaby was designed after the Ipaq 3630, so most of the parts, including the screen should be the same.
Please advise. It could be helpful for a lot of people fouled by O2 with CRAZY requests for fixing the screen.
The ipaq 3600 series screen is bigger.
I have no idea about what you asked, but I would really like to know how you broke your screen?

it is very easy to make the screen break ... just drop your XDA, it happened to one of my XDAs
regards, monika
i drop mine about 5x a day...(scratches on case, looseing that wen vibrates, it rattles alot)...thats why im SERIOUSLY lookin for a dummy model, but everytime i try to check on ebay, the auctions are over...so i tried going to TMO stores, or where ever they carry them, always ask the sales ppl if they could just sell me the model, an they never want to  i jus tell em to order an extra one, an say sumone stole the old one....but since theyr too stcuk up to get a few extra $$$$ in there pockets, ima just have to "take" one
Basically the screen has imploded. I was talking, the screen went on power saving mode, and when ended the call it was broken.
O2 asked me too much money to repair, but I am sure the screen of the IPAQ 3630 is the same size, already checked.
Has anyone tried to open up both devices and check it?
Just want to know if connectors are the same.
Thanks
yes, my friend did open the device .... not mine but the similar unit - MDA, seems like it is a sony make, but according to his words IPAQ screen will not fit
BTW I have the same problem - I have two machines - one MDA with broken but functioning screen and XDA I do operate on a daily basis, I can make calls from both units ... but hesitating between repair and sale as is

You must have the only ipaq 3630 that has a screen the same size as xda1, I have one in front of me and I will eat my shirt on camera if you manage to get it into the xda1.
although I am not going to eat my shirt  but I agree that screen sizes are different

I broke my screen by dropping it face down on a stone 1 week after buying it. I was insured by O2 for £4.99 a month and the next day I recieved a brand new one with all the accessories and I only had to return the main unit. I now have 2 batteries, headphones, cradles etc.

Do you fancy selling all those XDAII extra's
Sorry, I find them really usefull, I have the cradle next to my bed and one attatched to my desktop. The spare battery is allways usefull as the main batteries are not very goo. that leaves me with a headset and a dummy SD card which i am sure are not very usefull to you. If it happens again I will contact you. Adam

Woohoo ordered my XDA Orbit 2!!!

Hi
I just wanted to share my excitement with you all (lol)!
I recently ordered my XDA Orbit 2 off eBay. Seller seems fine with 100% buyers and seller satisfaction so all should be ok.
I am so glad I got it - after literally weeks of hassle I finally ordered it!
This is actually the second time I ordered it from eBay, the first time the seller sent me the XDA Orbit 1 (Artemis)! After 3 weeks I got my refund and so now I have finally bought an orbit 2 for £296.99 including postage.
Quite a lot of money but my other phone (K750i) was really starting to tick me off - everytime I use it and it decides to mess up somehow I will have the satisfaction that I won't have to bare with it any longer!
Just hope nothing goes wrong!
I don't know why you've bothered...
I'm starting to wish I'd stuck with SE and got a P1i or waited for the X1
Well I had previously owned an XDA Orbit 1 (Artemis) and I loved that PDA so I thought that the upgrade to it must be even better...
Especially with the touchflo, better camera, 3G, built in Co-Pilot, faster CPU, and the nice shiny screen
Although I still think it is not worth £300, but I guess its that price on eBay because the only way to get them is through a contract on O2 and they are expensive anyway...
If I don't like it I can sell it back for probably the same price I bought it anyway... prices on them are starting to fall a bit now.
The cheapest ive seen someone sell an orbit 2 on ebay is £150 buy it now! Thats just crazy lol

Well, you can just buy a Touch Cruise anywhere, same thing near as dammit. Around £390 is the best price, but you get the warranty with that...
And it's a great unit, you're right, it's just like an Artemis but even better. Hope you enjoy it!
or through expansys on vodafone........
Mine was only £130..........

Don't be that happy Look at the screen from above and from below? Can you see anything?
On the TC the screen is completely different. If you have a chance, go to a store and look at the screens of both devices together.

O2 XDA Orbit II Screen Replacement

Hi,
I have an O2 XDA orbit II that works perfectly even after 2 years. I have flashed the 6.5 ROM from XDA-Developers, and the phone's a treat to use.
But, the only downside is that there are a lot of scratches on the screen, that are visible, due to my carelessness.
Is there a way to replace this screen with a new one?
And, if so, where can I get the exact replacement part from?
Thanks for all, for help.
DG
Try ebay i got a full housing and screen for £10 "seems Genuine enough" just do a search for xda orbit 2 screen. There is guides on here for disassembly and screen replacement.
Hi, I have now ordered one from EBAY.
But, it would help if you could provide me the links to the above mentioned guides for Disassembling..
Regards

[Q] Screen replacment

I have been lucky with my screen so far but my co-worker's phone died not even two weeks in. He said his kid had knocked a glass (cup/mug) over hitting the screen at an unusual angle.
The phone it self works grate but it must have caught the screen at the wrong angle for it to crack. I say this because I have dropped my Nexus 5 with some force and it has been fine so far. Also its not often I see a crack starting from the side (see pic) and not one of the corners.
The only place here in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) that would repair it had a price that was ~50 shy of a brand new Nexus 5 (he has a 16gig).
Question:
Anyone know if there is a place in Edmonton or online where I can get a cheep screen (and replacement advice) or cheep screen replacement?
Also if you have had a similar experience how have you dealt with it?
Note: The screen protector in the pic was not attached during the crack it is a iPhone4 protector added after the crack so that the phone can be used without bleeding fingers.

I have some good news for you but at the same time it depends on your LUCK.
well, a member on XDA broke his Nexus 7 2013 screen when it was just launched (Less than 10 days).
He tried getting help and no one had spare parts available online, he sent it to ASUS directly paying the postage.
What happened was that his Nexus came back repaired and ASUS didnot even charge him anything apart from postage he paid.
He was a lucky man and I hope you and your friend are too!
Good Luck!

Your friend should check out the credit card he bought it with and see if it comes with a accidental warranty perk. Some CC have a 90 day period of "insurance" if purchased using the CC.

I think he does have some sort of CC policy I will ask and get him to peruse this.
Thanks both for the helpful replays!
LG charges around 150 for the screen repair. Theres posts regarding this on the general forum. There's even a user tutorial for removing the screen yourself.
