Will that speaker work in the CDMA version of the phone? I'm in the same boat as you.
Just contact the online helpdesk.
They could help you further.
I think it's the same one but if not they will order it for you..
Mine wasn't in there catalog also but they still tried to help me out..
French shop repairing all HTCs.
Hi all!
Here's a french shop and repairing service for all HTCs:
www.gsm-clinique.com
+33533475559
10, rue Maubec - 64100 Bayonne (France).
Totally satisfied by the work of this guy: cheap fast, and good work!
My screen's all scratched.. So I just ordered an LCD screen with digitizer (and screwdriver) for $21.99 (excl. shipping) from www.truesupplier.com.
Including shipping to the Netherlands ($13.99), some accessories (screen protectors, 3.5mm adapter) and a replacement battery cover ($11.50), it adds up to $54.32. I don't know, the touchscreen seems a bit too cheap to me, considering even they themselves have Diamond LCD's for sale at about twice the price. I e-mailed them and it should really include both the LCD and the digitizer, preassembled even. If it's really the (same as the) original parts then that's an amazing price.. I guess I'll update once I receive it.
Hate to double-post, but oh well. Received what was supposed to be the "LCD and digitizer with free screwdriver" I talked about in the above post, and as I feared and despite the customer support-lady's claims, it was just an LCD screen. No digitizer (the touch screen module) included, no screwdriver either. I e-mailed them about this yesterday, and they generally respond within 2-3 days.
I highly doubt this will be resolved, so I guess I'll have to order a seperate digitizer and screwdriver for $17 total from DealExtreme, wait 2-3 weeks for delivery, then find some way to do the soldering to connect the digitizer to the LCD (don't have the equipment for soldering, never done it before either).
In any case, me = frustrated.

I've ordered a new lcd and batterycover for my HTC Diamond 2 by this company.
Next day i received the products as suposed! Good service! Also good multi language customer helpdesk!
I have been lucky with my screen so far but my co-worker's phone died not even two weeks in. He said his kid had knocked a glass (cup/mug) over hitting the screen at an unusual angle.
The phone it self works grate but it must have caught the screen at the wrong angle for it to crack. I say this because I have dropped my Nexus 5 with some force and it has been fine so far. Also its not often I see a crack starting from the side (see pic) and not one of the corners.
The only place here in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) that would repair it had a price that was ~50 shy of a brand new Nexus 5 (he has a 16gig).
Question:
Anyone know if there is a place in Edmonton or online where I can get a cheep screen (and replacement advice) or cheep screen replacement?
Also if you have had a similar experience how have you dealt with it?
Note: The screen protector in the pic was not attached during the crack it is a iPhone4 protector added after the crack so that the phone can be used without bleeding fingers.

I have some good news for you but at the same time it depends on your LUCK.
well, a member on XDA broke his Nexus 7 2013 screen when it was just launched (Less than 10 days).
He tried getting help and no one had spare parts available online, he sent it to ASUS directly paying the postage.
What happened was that his Nexus came back repaired and ASUS didnot even charge him anything apart from postage he paid.
He was a lucky man and I hope you and your friend are too!
Good Luck!

Your friend should check out the credit card he bought it with and see if it comes with a accidental warranty perk. Some CC have a 90 day period of "insurance" if purchased using the CC.

LG charges around 150 for the screen repair. Theres posts regarding this on the general forum. There's even a user tutorial for removing the screen yourself.

Hello fellow Nexus 4 users.

I replaced my N4 screen after an unfortunate drop with a replacement assembly available on eBay for approx £35 including frame, digitizer and LCD.
The colours of the screen were appalling. See images in the link. There are counterfeit screens circulating.
May our N4s live on forever more!

Sorry to hear that. Today you can get anything fake from ebay.
Though, it wouldn't be bad if you put link to that buyer or item
The seller has dealt with the issue well so far, I'm not sure they knew they were selling a fake screen. I will post further details if I am not compensated/refunded.
Are you certain it's a counterfeit and not a re-sold piece that had actually failed QA/QC?
I don't think it's possible for an authentic screen to be of such poor quality. You could be right - I dont know much about LCD manufacture
Wondering if it is even worth replacing these parts on a phone that's over 2 years old. Not sure about pricing in UK but here in the US you can pick up a mint or refurbished one for close to the price you paid. If I busted my N4 I think I would prob have to move on and get a newer phone although I would miss perhaps the most perfect phone ever made.
I'm actually debating what to do with a N5 I have with a cracked screen sell it as is or try and find a replacement. The problem I'm Runing into is finding a stock LCD that is not cracked and makes sense price wise. If only I had a screen seperator the stupid glass can be had for $5.

This is the sad truth I've just discovered. I dropped my phone a few months back and now have an unresponsive stripe across my screen...I went looking for a screen replacement to find out I'd only save about $30 as opposed to buying a used mint condition N4. It's not worth the aggravation of doing all that work just to save a couple bucks, IMHO.
Yes I agree. I'm now debating getting a LCD separation machine and try to salvage the digitizer and LCD. Anyone ever attempt such a job?
kgiri247 I know this isn't the place to talk about selling phones but if you do want to sell it I'll more than happily take it off your hands, inbox me if you want to talk numbers! What I do know about separating the LCD and Digitizer is that it's very risky, they're two very delicate pieces of hardware and any mistakes could lead to having an expensive paperweight until you could find a replacement screen for it!
Yeah, it's getting to be a tough decision for a home who has something go wrong on these. I love this phone though as well as the development community for it. I might keep this phone just because the development community is excellent.
However if I had to get a new phone, I saw Amazon is selling the Kindle Fire phone unlocked for $199

as far i can see on your images, your screen is original and coming from LG, how many months do you have it? do you have any other synthom than yellowish colours??
Have you double a check for how many fingers you can press? The N4 is 10 right, but some of the really cheap screens only support 5. You'll know very quickly whether it's fake or not.
bought a replacement screen for the n4 and the screen is horrible. has 2 dead pixels and the viewing angles are the worst ive ever seen on a cellphone.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is I'm afraid. The most expensive parts of a mobile phone are usually the screen and the battery, seeing as both are advanced pieces of technology. Processors, RAM, motherboards etc are cheap in reality, that's why you can buy a pretty powerful Android TV stick for cheap. No battery, no screen.
Nexus 4's are cheap nowadays, smash a screen, it probably isn't worth buying another screen unless you can be guaranteed of OEM'ness. It isn't all that hard to replace a digitizer though, so if your LCD panel is good, it might be worth giving it a try.
Where would you be able to buy a genuine part then?
Is this something you should bite the bullet and send to LG for repair to atleast be guaranteed a genuine part?
Edit
Sorry for bumping an old thread.
I just had mine replaced by LG for a defective ribbon cable which left the touch screen complete unresponsive. I went this route due to all the complaints about bad screens. $160 later, my N4 looks and works great! Pretty expensive though.
I had ordered a replacement from a seller within the US on eBay. I can't seem to find the sale anymore, but it was the real deal.
I had purchased a Nexus 4 and it came with a crappy replacement display, so I ordered a new one and did the swap myself.
It looks like a whole new phone.
Thanks for the info guys!
I'm from the UK like op and I was considering getting the replacement screen myself from ebay but I don't know if the seller replaced the part he gave to op and if it was genuine because they do have some good fakes on ebay.
I might just bite the bullet and do it myself I don't know the price for repair here Reeves360 but I'm sure it'll be similar to what you paid.
These phone manufacturers still charging extortionate prices on a nearly 3 year old phone.
I've long wondered about the legitimacy of the replacement screen I got off eBay. I bought from a seller that had sold a ton of them and had excellent feedback. But the screen always seemed like it was dim (had to crank it all the way up to be as bright as my other devices at 2/3-3/4 max brightness, plus the color is very cool/bluish. But it was always responsive and never had any ghost touches.
However, a couple days ago, it has started to freak out. Occasionally, after touching it, the bottom half or so flashes black. Somtimes it's one flash, sometimes it's a few flashes. It still responds perfectly while doing this, but it's obviously not normal. I disassembled it, gave the connectors a whack of Deoxit and ProGold, and reassembled it, but the glitching still remains, so it's not the connector. I need to try flashing something different (or maybe just dirty flashing LS again) to see if it's ROM or kernel related. I made some changes to Hellscore settings and I finally figured out why my battery life was so atrocious the last few months (it somehow got set minimum 2 cores online), so it's possible I screwed something else up.
If the problem is that it's a fake screen, I doubt the seller was aware.
It was the kernel (settings). Not sure what caused it, but I reflashed the kernel, reinstalled HK manager, and the screen hasn't glitched out since.
Okay topic may not be so clear, so let me explain.
My LG Nexus 5 has fell down to ground from about 3 meters and screen is cracked. I think it is only the glass because even on the worst crack touch screen works great there is no problem with touch screen, but the glass on it is cracked, however even frame had damages. Now I must buy exatcly this : http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-D...pebp=1440720620149&perid=1KKY5MEEXHDG1M4DWTH5
Because the other producs makes mu puke, I just can't trust them, you know, quality, dead pixels. I'm far away from the idea of buying another brand lcd screen. That link I've send is of the link original LG product. At least seller is LG.
But unfortunately I don't live in merica so amazon is very un-friendly website for non-merican fella.
I have around 100 order on aliexpress, that is a good shopping site too at least they send most of the producs with free shipping (of course product include shipping cost but amazon does not even send it to TURKEY ! they don't even let me afford the shipping cost amazon only says : this shipping address is invalid bla bla and some crap.) But there is so many fake sellers in aliexpress. I find a lcd screen which costs 52$, And I 've send a message about "if it is original or not" title was something like %100 Original LCD Screen for LG NEXUS 5 (for lg nexus 5 , not original lg lcd for lg nexus 5.....) my English might be bad, but not bad as to get scammed. And the answer was "original" well I'm definitely not satisfied that answer.
So just help me here, Nexus 5 is my love, it turns me on when I look her... But now she is ugly as pig Just help me to find original LG LCD screen with free or cheap shipping to TURKEY.
Regards, Thanks in advance
and forgive my damn poor english.
You could try checking some European Amazon websites such as Amazon UK, Amazon DE. They might be able to provide shipping (though it won't be free).
Thanks for reply,
And I've checked amazon UK. There weren't any lg brand LCD display. But in the amazon.de I've found one, which is seller was also LG, but cost is 95€!... I didn't even check shipping cost... Well brand new LG Nexus 5 is 260$....
I don't wanna end up in aliexpress which looking for another brand... Because I've already did it and feedbacks was terrible, first of all, almost all of them got screen with dead pixels. And most of them says there is a problem about corners, sensors...

LG is probably the only choice you'll have to be assured that it's genuine.
Just swapped mine out yesterday. Damn near perfect. Led is brighter, seems like its missing a filter or something under the glass. Light bleed was worse on my OEM lcd. $50 got me the lcd + assembly. My old assembly was cracked by all buttons and sim card. Win win. Www.gadgetfix.com

Hell yes ! I guess I gotta check for alternatives, because LG LCD is too expensive, so maybe others who changed their screen before can share their thoughts about whatever they bought. , There is still one more week to my payday, I will be looking for alternatives untill that day.
And the product you got in my list.

Well, here is another question which is really disturbing me. You know, original nexus 5 has 1920x1080 445ppi screen with Gorilla Glass 3, I really don't think there are any seller selling 445 ppi.. I'm over Gorilla, I can accept exceptions but Im afraid they gonna send me something like 300ppi , I've never been so confused for my entire life, because feedbacks are terrible.
And, that "LG" seller on amazon, turns out fake seller... Thanks to feedbacks...

If it's 1920x1080, then it's definitely 445PPI.
PPI depends ONLY on resolution and screen size. So if system reports full hd, then it's all good.
PPI = ( √(width² + height²) ) / screen size
PPI = ( √(1920² + 1080²) ) / 4.95 = 2203 / 4.95 = 445.0505
As for Gorilla, well this is kinda tricky, you never know if it has it when you are buying non-OEM screen assembly.
Here is what happened since then.
Then I had scracty screen. A month ago I have dropped my nexus 5 again and screen was totally gone. I had alike thread in reddit too and they suggested me to go with etradesupply. It was 50$ + 30$ shipping cost for me. Still, I could pay for my lovely N5, -because I knew If I wanted to go cheaper way, Actually there was 30$ products on aliexpress with some good feedback- long story short I got my screen from etradesupply It arrived in 3 day -that was horrible, It scared me a liitle bit than I said : This is where my 30$ went- came in great condition very good packing. Screen quality rocks but one problem! It drains almost 2 maybe 2.5 time more than the original one. Colors are perfect but I do not know what to do with this consuming problem. Other than that I would totally recommend the LCD I got.
I'm not sure why the LCD would drain the battery so quickly. I'd look for some other issue because I have replaced Nexus 5 screens using replacements from Aliexpress and none of them caused the battery to drain any faster than the original screen.
Hello,
I need to change my faulty z1c (D5503) screen (lcd + digitizer) for the 2d time in a few months (broken screen in the 1st time, water damage + alcohol isoprop ... in the 2d time) and choose the right seller.
I checked on the market + this forum and here are my findings :
1) Witrigs (100 US dollars, so quite expensive) http://www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z1-compact
2) Stellatech (quite expensive - 100 EUR) : http://stellatech.com/sony-xperia-z...lete-display-lcd-touchscreen,a,en,816110.html
3) Aliexpress : (24 us dollars ...) : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-..._73_74_75,searchweb201527_3,searchweb201560_9
Could anyone tell me if the 3) can be as good as the first 2 ?

Can you share a pic of your Z1C with this screen pls?
i've got some through a dutch shop, costing me 77Eur, seems to me that it isn't exactly same as original sony as colors were quite different (too much saturated/red).
now it's only WITH a frame, not sure if that's easier to deal with for repair:
http://telecom2day.com/sony/sony-xp...ay-lcd-unit-met-frame-sony-xperia-z1-compact/
ps, aliepress is not fast in delivering stuff, so if you want it before the end of the year, better look somewhere else
I bought this one and mounted it myself, and i have'nt noticed any difference in quality from the original display. Just make sure to watch a video tutorial on how to change it.
Adhesive tape and correct tools was not included, but ordered from china.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221822457294?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Some how, I got unlucky and touch input broke down on me. Tried a lot,but phone is written off now. Went to nexus 5x and happy.
I bought a display from ebay for 30$, and it is working great. Not original though, but have'nt noticed any difference at all. Been using it for 3 months without a single problem.
It was this one: http://m.ebay.com/itm/UK-Touch-Disp...i-Compact-M51w-D5503-/221822457294?nav=SEARCH
To people who ordered from ebay: Which glue did you buy?
And what does it mean "no frame" ? Do you need to salvage this 'frame' from your broken screen?
I just broke my screen. Dropped it from 20cm at just the right angle I guess I've been doing some research, looks like you can't replace only the digitizer without special tools?
I've got mine from Ebay, it came with glue also. It has the same colors like the original one and it's working flawless for 5 months now.
Here is the link for the display I've bought.
Hello,
let me throw another hat in the ring: I bought my screen assembly from parts4repair, they sell them starting at 32 €. I bought the one for 42 €, as it is supposed to be the original replacement part. I did not realize any different colors. Delivery took about 6 weeks and packaging was really good (stable, well protected).
In another thread I already posted about this little project, here it is again:
I did completely disassemble my Z1compact recently and replaced back housing and the screen, using adhesive stickers (they were even said to be the original, real deal. I cleaned the contact areas with cleaning alcohol prior to reassembling the phone, so everything was just as intended). Everything worked fine, looked just as new - but after only 2 days, the adhesive did already start to loosen again in different areas!
I told a friend of mine about the problem (he fixes mobile phones the whole day long, as a profession), and he answered that they never use the stickers, but a special kind of silicone! The important part is, that it is a silicon which hardens without releasing acid (normally acetic acid is fumed out), so the electronic circuits do not become damaged. I bought one like this: Silicon Adhesive and everything worked fine It's been two months now and there are no problems, it's even water proof again.
Some comments: The silicone needs at least 24h to harden, I placed my phone under 4 heavy books in order to apply steady pressure during that time. That may have been a little bit too heavy, however, because the screen is a little bit lower than before and I can see small, somewhat "lighter" areas right where the contacts of the screen are, just the kind like pressing your finger on a lcd display too much. So better use only 2 books during hardening the silicone
Happy tinkering!
I got the same problem with my phone - I broke digitizer on my weekend trip... I don't know guys if it's an option for you, but in Poland you can replace screen much cheaper:
https://www.w-support.pl/klienci-indywidualni/koszt-naprawy.html (sorry, it's in polish... w-support is official Sony service - whole screen replacement costs 399 PLN (less than 100€)
If you want to do it yourself - you can look at our biding service - allegro:
http://allegro.pl/listing/listing.php?order=m&string=d5503+lcd&search_scope=category-19285&bmatch=base-relevance-w2-ele-1-3-0812
I bought LCD with digitizer, tools and glue for about 200PLN (less than 50€) and the seller claims it's an original one... Of course there may be some problems with foreign shipment but I think it shall work in EU for most of the sellers.
I let you know in a few day - I am waiting for delivery right now...

I just bought a 30E sceen from ebay and it pretty bad because of the gamma levels...tried to adjust with white balance and it got a bit better..but still nowhere near as good as the original. For a 30euro screen i think i'll live with it..

I bought LCD with digitizer, tools and glue for about 200PLN (less than 50€) and the seller claims it's an original one... Of course there may be some problems with foreign shipment but I think it shall work in EU for most of the sellers.
I let you know in a few day - I am waiting for delivery right now...

Yeah, that's great!
I made a post HERE about a water damaged screen, long story short after buying two cheap screens online and sending them both back for a refund because I wasn't happy with either of them I bit the bullet and sent my phone to Sony for a genuine OEM replacement to be fitted. Neither of the cheap screens came with the ASF and didn't have the foam that was attached to the back of my original.

you must really love your z1c to pay that money, hope you enjoy it!
so it s a big difference sony OEM screen vs the cheap ones?
i replaced mine with cheap one(two times) and both times found the colours <<washed>> and low brightness too in comparison with OEM.

A few People have said to me just buy a new one, but I do love it and want to keep it to use as my spare when I finally do, I want another Compact but the last few just haven't done it for me. It's killed me using my old Xperia Ray this last week and still have another week and a half to go. Going to flash GB to it this weekend and see if that makes it more bearable.

The first screen had lifted a little so that made me question the adhesive too, from reading online I then thought it was because I hadn't cleaned the frame properly, so made sure I had before laying the second screen, but that eventually started to lift too. I found the same as you in regards to the screen, the colours just weren't right and had to use full brightness which then obviously chews through the battery. I even reflashed my phone to see if that made a difference, as we know there are two different panels used I thought maybe when the phone gets reflashed it may configure it for the display that's attached but it didn't.
If the X Compact had a better spec I would have bought it and a cheap screen for the Z1C as that would be going in the wardrobe along with the Arc S and Ray hopefully never to be seen again for another 50 years, but as it's going to be my daily for a little while longer I just want it perfect.
UPDATE:
Just heard back from Sony today and not good news. First of all they emailed me to say a quote was available to view in my support which basically said it was uneconomical to repair and offered an equivalent phone for a cost of £250+, baffled by their quote and comments I then got straight on the phone as all my Z1C needs to function is a screen , the operator told me to get the phone back to a guaranteed status the technician had wanted to replace more parts. To a degree I can see where they are coming from but having already had two screens on with no issues other than the poor quality of them it's quite annoying.
So as my hand has been forced a screenless Z1C will be going on ebay as soon as I get it back, and I'll be ordering a Z5C tonight.
